Gambling for me is not a problem. I don't often gamble. I can see how it can become a problem though. I can see if I had carried in making big bets I would be in trouble and in too far and spend time chasing loses probably ending up in more loss.

But little did they know that are actually promoting what they intend to pull down. The only other reasons for it that I can think of is that they're trying to artificially raise the amount of BTC they're "paying out" and/or the amount of BTC people are depositing by paying money to themselves... or it is some sort of arrangement where the pool claims a share of the "profit" or something?  otherwise there is simply no point doing it... they're just wasting money on fees and making the unconfirmed transaction chain longer.  These transactions seems already confirmed. Even when I tried to accelarate the different transaction it says transaction does not exist. Then again re-check the tx id and found that got the confirmation and received to the concern address. I hope we transaction got confirmed we may find this pop-up. |

Because the hard fork might cause a chain split which could put users at risk losing their bitcoin and that's why some users feared the upcoming chain split on August 1. The reason is if segwit2x didn't get enough support from the miners before August 1, UASF will activate in august 1 and will cause a chain split.
In my understanding, if we are in the possession of the private key to the BTC, then there is no chance that we will lose our coins. But if the BTC is stored in exchange wallets, then there is a serious risk that you will get only one of the coins out of the two (or three, if you add in Jihancoin / Bitmaincoin as well). You understood it incorrectly. You need to differentiate the bitcoin splitting and hard forking. If any fork stabs on bitcoin sure value will be drop something very little what value we are seeing now. Yes this is very possible. But you have to be very lucky as well. You need to get a coin that is so low and then suddenly it was pump so hard that the price goes 100%. I have seen a lot of coins, specially if they have been just listed on a trading platform. Sadly, I sold mine before it the coin was listed to I miss a lot of profit. Anyways, good luck mate.
