1421  Local / India / Re: Cryptocurrency 2023! on: January 16, 2023, 02:18:38 AM
The Indian sub has really low engagement which is the reason why most of us don't post in this sub these days.
Besides that, the government hasn't been showing support to crypto currencies which is another reason why new members aren't joining the forum and hence no posts in Indian sub.
Although high taxes are imposed on crypto trading I really don't think that the government will, at any point of time in future, completely ban crypto trading as @pakhitheboss mentioned.
Also, there are talks about a CBDC launching soon so lets see how that gets implemented and how things go forward for crypto in India.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 16, 2023, 02:11:28 AM
I heard this strategy working but I like to know based on your experience if this is working.

For those who don't know about this strategy, you can read here to educate yourself.
https://www.wsn.com/betting-guide/betting-against-public/

Also, this website is providing details about public bets, I'm not sure how accurate it is, but we can use this as a reference since I haven't found another one. You can also comment if you some reliable sites.

https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/public-betting

It works and give good profits but not all the time. Also, it requires guts to use this strategy because you are going against the prediction of so many people.
We have seen it in the FIFA world cup where the underdogs won quite a few times giving good profits to the bettors.
So yeah it does work but we must know what we are doing before using this strategy.
1423  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are the Whales Control bitcoin price? on: January 15, 2023, 05:21:18 PM
we all know no one can controls the bitcoin price because bitcoin isn't like bank, stock and valas. but if the whales owned 51% of bitcoin, can do it?. if happen, does decentralization not exist?

I think you are confusing two things.

One is a whale where a trader who holds a huge amount of coins trying to manipulate the price and benefits from price difference.

The other is 51% attack which is done by miners owning more than 51% mining power and tries to attack the blockchain.
1424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: January 15, 2023, 05:17:39 PM
DCA is the only strategy which has proven to give good profits in the long run especially in crypto.
Since the volatility is high in crypto the DCA gives us a good buying price which increases our profits during a bull run.
Yes, I have been holding on to my coins and yes I have been doing DCA. The only selling range is near ATH.
If you missed selling near ATH then it doesn't make any sense to sell. So buying more is the best thing to do.
1425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 13, 2023, 04:17:34 PM
I don't have experience in altcoins, but I have quite an interest in investing in altcoins, but when I hear the news that investing in altcoins is very dangerous because the potential for losses is so big, but I found out on the internet, it turns out that we can invest in altcoins as long as the in quality altcoins,
and finally I saw on cmc that the number 1 altcoin is ethereum, and finally I'm quite interested if I have the capital to want to invest in ethereum.
and I saw the news that it turned out that a lot of people were investing in ethereum because the ethereum project is very good and has a lot of fans. and I want to ask everyone?

: does ethereum have a good future?

: is it not wrong if I choose to invest in ethereum?

: what is the drawback of ethereum?

: why is ethereum the no. 1 ALTCOIN?

Ethereum is by far the best altcoin out there which is the reason why it stands second on the marketcap index.
Ethereum has a good team of developers and a dedicated community. The project is really unique and has a good potential.
Unlike other altcoins, ETH has faced its ups and downs but is still on the top. Anyone can choose to invest in it if they want to invest in the best and safest altcoins.
It does have a good future and currently I don't see any drawback for it.

edit : the video is working now

Congratulations on your victory. Dice is not skill based game but you managed yo win the game.
Although its just a luck but you could have lost the game as well. I guess you must have lost the other games for which you don't have a video.
But that's just how gambling is. Someday you lose and some day you win. It's your day and so enjoy the profits.
You can secure your initial capital and play on your winning amount which would give you a thrill.
1427  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I am Bullish On Bitcoin Despite Bear market on: January 13, 2023, 03:32:06 AM
I guess the bottom for bitcoin is in since the price is spiking up by the time we speak.
Currently price of bitcoin is around $18.7k which is a good sign since the price was idle around $16k.
It's kind of a relief to see bitcoin goin up again since we have come down all the way from $69k.
But again we cant be sure if the bottom is completely in because we have see such pumps followed by huge dumps again.
So we'll have to carefully monitor this trend and DCA at the right time to take good profits.
1428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 12, 2023, 04:28:25 PM
~ what is your take on revenge trading?
~ Do you think people intentionally go into revenge trading or is is just emotional?
~ what will you advise someone making series of losses ?

1. Revenge reading is unhealthy because as you mentioned it will literally blow up the portfolio account. What's the benefit of doing it then ?

2. I think it's an emotional thing because revenge is an emotion and trading should not involve emotions. Our strategy should be calculated and pre-planned.

3. Avoid revenge trading. Try to control your emotions. Practice your strategies well.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably fair games are not fair on: January 12, 2023, 04:23:20 PM
I think OP is getting it wrong. There are two things that I want to highlight.

1. OP mentioned that the algorithm take client seed, server seed and nonce only and so why would changing the bet amount would decrease the probability of hitting 100x. It should ideally stay the same whether or not the bet amount is changed.

2. Even if you have played the 100 bets its not absolutely mandatory that you would hit 100x in 100 bets. Its just a probability. You can also not hit 100x and then hit 100x twice in the next 10 bets.

Anything is possible.
I agree. I tested this before playing dice. 10 bets per seed. Results are 4/10, 3/10,7/10,6/10. Provably fair is just the randomness of your game. By doing that I understood how it works. There's no such thing as a lucky seed too. Sometimes one seed could give you a good initial win streak but as it goes on you will feel the changes in the results.
So, you could keep on changing those seeds but soon it will try to balance the outcome because some seeds do give you profits in the long run.
But short-term gamblers will try to get a new seed so it resets.

Yeah even I have seen some gamblers changing the client seed very frequently in the hope to win big in the first few bets.
I don't really know if that's a good strategy or not but I can say that at the end the results would more or less be the same.
A person using the same seed would more or less win the same amount of reward when compared to a person who frequently changes the client seed.

1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 12, 2023, 03:48:41 AM
I came across a topic recently now on this very thread about a casino refusing to pay a woman ber jackpot winnings of over £35.4m and if you'll agree me that, this isn't a little sum of money to just ignore.

What got me worried isn't just the winning but why are casinos getting away without paying players their exactly winnings with some shitty excuses ?

Link to the post of the woman's winnings below
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433888.0
Please I really want to understand this question and will be glad to hear from people

You could have continued the same thread instead of making a new one for the same.
What my concern is that how can a casino allow an amount as jackpot which they cant even afford ?
This raises my suspicion that the slot machine might actually be malfunctioned in which case the casino should pay a decent enough amount to the woman.
But they just offered a steak dinner which is lame.

In the most immediate sense you might be not too far from the truth there, the rising trend in BTC puts pressure in elements that are priced in it so FUN token could fall or in simple terms stay with parity to the dollar.   Further out I think BTC rising back to anywhere near to its peak will mean greater confidence levels then we have now, so that confidence likely helps FUN token and the projects its connected to so less risk premium means a higher price even in dollars.    If the BTC trend continues over months it will help FUN price in Satoshi to either stay neutral or even gain; this is generally true that its possible to outperform BTC itself while there is a sustained expansion in the crypto space.

That's quite true. Now that BTC price is climbing up the price of FUN might increase in the next few months as well.
Although in the short term the price might decline in Satoshi pair but once a correction is incoming the satoshi pair will see some gains too.
All the holding will come to a reward this year I guess.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I made some years ago on: January 11, 2023, 04:25:28 PM
At some point of time we have all been there wishing we should have bought more BTC or we should not have sold our coins back then.
This just proves how much bitcoin is worth and it is better to use it as a store of value than a payment method.
I guess its too precious to spend it as a payment. Not even Satoshi would have imagined bitcoin to be so precious that people would regret to spend it as a payment. LOL.
But the truth is that we all want more BTC since we know its price is bound to increase more in future.
1434  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the key to your success investing in bitcoin.. on: January 11, 2023, 04:04:41 PM
everyone definitely wants to be successful in investing, especially in bitcoin. and of course it is not easy to achieve success in investing, even though it sounds easy to invest in bitcoin, for example as follows:

: buy at a low price sell at a high price.

: must hold strong, and do not sell it when the price drops.

but in reality there are so many people who sell when the price drops, even though they have to take the risk of loss.

I, who don't have much experience in bitcoin, want to ask what is the key to your successful investment in bitcoin?
and I want to ask if you have ever experienced investment losses in bitcoin?

I hope my post is useful for me and all in this forum.

You have already mentioned the best practices to invest in bitcoin which are buy low and sell high and hold strong.
It's just that with time you will develop the patience required to hold strong. As newbies we tend to lose our patience and want quick profits.
But as we keep investing we realize that we need to protect our capital in order to grow our portfolio.
We can only protect our capital by not selling at losses and hence we need to hold strong.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 11, 2023, 03:56:16 PM
Quote
Katrina Bookman was playing the slots at the Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, Queens when she secured what would have been the largest slot machine jackpot in US history - $42,949,672 (£35.4m). She took a selfie with the machine to mark the moment, and later said her whole body went 'numb' when she saw the life-changing figure. Bookman was told to come back the next day to discuss her winnings, but when she asked an employee what she'd be walking away with, he responded: "You didn't win nothing." The New York State Gaming Commission said Bookman’s machine had malfunctioned, and that she'd actually won just $2.25 (£1.86).The machine had a disclaimer stating 'malfunctions void all pays and plays', and as a result the commission said that they were required by law to give Bookman only what she'd actually won.

Some Casinos are just plain fraudulent. So this woman visited a casino, play slot and won $43million. She took a selfie with the amount displayed on the machine. The casino saw it and told her to return the next day so they could talk about the winnings. Next day she returned. Story changed. She was told the machine had malfunctioned and therefore it was what was responsible for the winnings. They went ahead to offer her a complimentary steak dinner. I got so livid reading this story.

Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?

The first and foremost thing is that why did they tell the woman to come back the next day ?
This is where the casino looked in to the matter and plotted the whole thing.
They would have deliberately made the casino malfunction and announced that the winning was due to the malfunctioned slot machine.
The woman should have filed a case against the casino for not giving her the winning amount but then again it would be a nightmare for her to prove that the casino didn't malfunctioned when she was playing.
1436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Distortion Pattern on: January 11, 2023, 03:48:42 AM

yes, it is true. back when I was still a crazy gambling addict, it was very difficult to control my emotions while betting. especially if you lose several times, of course the emotions will be big and you always spend money to chase those losses.
but after the destruction in the past will make a valuable lesson for me to stop being a crazy gambling addict and always try to control emotions.

Controlling hour emotions is what we all have learnt from gambling without which we would probably lose all our money into gambling.
Even I have tasted the losing it all part and I must say it was because of the same that I have learnt to control my emotions and hence control my spendings.
I tend to play with small amount these days which has helped me in cutting losses while still enjoying gambling.
1437  Economy / Gambling / Re: New casino BTC game development on: January 11, 2023, 03:39:22 AM
It looks to me like an ordinary casino site. If you have created it on your own from scratch then hats off to your efforts.
But you must provide something unique to it so that users can get attracted to it. Right now there's nothing unique on the site.
I'm not sure why you're looking for something special or unique. I may not have played in as many crypto casinos as you but probably enough to say that games are pretty much the same even among long-time gambling platforms. Most of them only differ in game design and promotional offers.

By unique I mean something that has an X factor for the casino site. The UI is decent enough which is a positive sign.
But other than I don't think there's any reason why a user would choose to play on this site while there are other established casino sites already.
Surely they can give a try but then after few days may be they will switch back to their previous sites.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 10, 2023, 04:59:39 PM
If you see gambling as a means of making money you will keep losing because you will keep going back to try your luck, I like gambling too but I play with less money and enjoy the game, I never have the mind of playing to win but I play to only have some fun so my betting skills is always on the minimum amount.
I think your statement is still not quite right, because there are still many gamblers who really rely on gambling as a place where they can make a profit.
But not all gamblers can do it, only those who have more money and intelligence in gambling.
I myself have met poker gamblers several times who are indeed experts in the game of poker, even in almost every game he wins and the percentage loses only slightly.
If you gamble or bet just as a means of fun I salute you for still being able to limit the amount you bet and not get really crazy about gambling.

If you have met such people who wins most of the times then they must either be really skilled or really lucky.
Most of the times people only lose money in gambling when they are playing against the house.
Talking about people gambling for fun then its the thril to win that drives them to gamble.
Playing with smaller amount decreases the amount of loss while giving similar thrill of gambling.

Well, yeah, ive decided to buy a few thousand, i will move it to my freebitco account and stake it there, let me see how it goes.
FreeBitco no doubt is one of the trusted bitcoin casinos that have really stood the test of time, i have no doubt that they will continue to live even for several years to come, i also have no doubt that fun token holds lots of potentials, but i just felt and still feel that FreeBitco is not giving the token the kind of attention it deserves, but i trust that this will probably change soon.
So i am just going to buy a few thousand and stake and watch out for what the future holds.

Welcome to the club!

Hard to say that the site isn't giving the token the attention it deserves but it's challenging to convince others to actively adopt it. I mean there's Bitcoin and ETH, why would other sites want to settle for something else, besides for payment purposes?

We had tons of tokens during the pre-2018 with their convincing whitepapers; NEO, POWR, VECHAIN to name a few. These days, we hardly hear from them anymore.

There are many such coins/tokens which were hyped back in the bullish days but its the bear trend which shows us which coins are indeed strong.
FUN token is doing quite well and most importantly it has not collapsed.
I think freebitco adoption has mde FUN token stand out well when compared to its peers.
Lets see what the future holds for FUN token
