14261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this time to Sell altcoins before BTC Halving on: February 22, 2020, 11:29:00 AM
Now the market is growing, so I don't think you should sell alts to hold on to Bitcoin, personally I'm holding on to both Bitcoin and alts.

At the moment, we can already confidently say that growth has ended. At the moment, the price is actually in equilibrium and does not move either up or down. I think in order to make a decision on opening trading positions, it is necessary to wait for fundamental news. All the old news has already affected the market and now does not matter.
14262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Scammers move 12k BTC - dump is comming? on: February 22, 2020, 11:13:27 AM
not important if its a cold wallet or hot but the issue here is they are scamers and they make so much money from scamming  . i fell sorry for the people that donated thier money on them  .  12k btc looks small compare to other whale seller on the past   . they even sell over 100 btc and the market didnt dump too much so there is no need for us to worry  . this will only make a small impact on the price  .  they wont loose if the sell in any moment because they only scammed that money anyway  .

The amount that the scammers collected is much more than what is discussed in this thread:

Quote
Chinese media reports that the scam attracted over $3 billion worth of cryptocurrency. We tracked a total of 180,000 BTC, 6,400,000 ETH, 111,000 USDT, and 53 OMG (OmiseGo) that went from scam victims to PlusToken wallets, equating to roughly $2 billion.
https://blog.chainalysis.com/reports/plustoken-scam-bitcoin-price

I noticed that when an analysis is made about such fraudulent schemes, everybody talk about the negative impact on the market. But in fact, at the time of the growth of this pyramid, the impact on the market was positive - these scammers created a demand for a third of the annual issue of bitcoin.

If we want to get a lot of money, then it is probably better to work hard or do business. Gambling is not a place where they can be earned (by playing).
Although there is always a chance  Roll Eyes
It should, most people think about it.

How many dollars he spends in gambling every month, for example $ 1000, if he starts a business / business with that much capital, maybe it can increase by half of it or maybe more if the business is advanced.

That's what human names are always there are other parties who incite to plunge into gambling.
The worst part is that most people bet, when they lose a bet, they run out of $ 1000, and tomorrow they play again, winning $ 100 is fun enough for an addict, even though he has lost $ 1000, he doesn't realize it.

"Human nature can not be changed by others, if he himself does not want to change it".

100% true!
Even if you do not do business and save money in a bank (or invest in cryptocurrency), then the accumulated amount will become huge over time. While the money spent on gambling will not give anything but a one-time adrenaline rush.

Скорее всего чтобы защитники замка начали достраивать стену и разобрали скалы  Cheesy

Cool

Но раз вы сводите задачу к "угадыванию" ответа который загадал задающий задачу, то выбираю 2-й - про сопромат.

14265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2020 be ETH's biggest year yet? on: February 22, 2020, 10:01:53 AM
~
If I'm right, this year could be such where Ethereum upgrades towards Casper PoS. Once that happens, people will gain the "FOMO" sentiment by buying as much ETH as they can (resulting in higher prices over time). But even if this year doesn't turn out to be the biggest one for ETH yet, it'll be remembered as such where Bitcoin experienced a reduction in its block reward. At least, Bitcoin's halving event will have a positive influence over Ethereum's price within the short term.
~

An additional factor in increasing the demand for ETH will be that in order to create a validator (which should be a lot in the system), 32 ETH will need to be locked. As I understand it, from the news announcements issued by the ETH team, the number of validators will be huge.
14266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Scammers move 12k BTC - dump is comming? on: February 21, 2020, 05:39:55 PM
According to https://twitter.com/chiachih_wu , scammers from PlusToken ponzi scheme move 12k BTC to the addresses that looks like cold wallet:

Here article about that: https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/scammers-move-over-12000-btc-from-plustoken-wallet-to-new-address

Here Chiachih_wu is following next transactions: https://twitter.com/chiachih_wu/status/1227150566041649153/photo/1

If they want to dump such a large amount, can we expect a flash crash below $5k?

Personally, I think that they will not be so crazy and if they decide on any sale, they certainly will not want to trigger panic sell, because they would lose a lot on it themselves.

What do you think guys?

If you are observing this story (I am observing) then you know that they cannot cash out such large volumes.
Here's a detailed investigation into the scheme by which they cash out money: https://blog.chainalysis.com/reports/plustoken-scam-bitcoin-price
There you can see an attempt to evaluate the influence of fraudsters on the price of bitcoin and see that it is not very large. At least there is confidence that there is no need to fear a sharp collapse.
14267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2020 be ETH's biggest year yet? on: February 21, 2020, 05:10:14 PM
Ethereum does it slowly but for me it is certain, and again everything still depends on the conditions of the price of bitcoin. Ethereum is looking for the right time.

In fact, everything is interdependent and it is not clear what is more important. But I think that you will not argue with the fact that if the ETH drops to $ 10 now, then bitcoin will also fall. A huge part of the market depends on ETH.
Here is some very interesting information about the correlation between ETH and the market: Ethereum is the most correlated crypto asset, research shows

1. If in gambling's mind it threatens you, stop, don't bet.
2. If in your mind it's fun, to get a lot of money keep playing gambling.
~

1.) Agree. It makes no sense to endanger yourself in this case.
2.) Hmm ... I think it should be divided.
If we want to have fun and a little adrenaline, then we pay money (we are ready to lose it).
If we want to get a lot of money, then it is probably better to work hard or do business. Gambling is not a place where they can be earned (by playing).

This question is always on my mind since then until now. I want to know the opinion of everyone here on this platform. I know that we have all different perception about gambling, so I respect what will be your point of view about that.
~

Gambling is built on human physiology. You do certain actions (hunting simulation) and get the result (prey simulation) and your brain receives endorphins. These mechanisms are described in more detail in specific scientific papers. So this is an absolutely natural (and probably useful for brain stimulation) activity.
In gambling there is nothing wrong if your hobby does not turn into a mania. But this is also true of other “stimulants” such as alcohol, coffee, and even regular sports or reading news (some people cannot tear themselves away from this).
14272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing did you feel you must return the soonest to win back your losses? on: February 21, 2020, 09:01:31 AM
This is a very dangerous idea. If you return all the time (to the place where the chances of winning are less than the chances of losing), then you may find yourself in a situation where you have no money left to recoup.
This is a counterproductive idea, even if we consider it from a formal point of view: for what reason do you think that you can recoup? The rules have changed and your chances of winning increased? Have you found a way to "trick" math? What exactly has changed?
To honestly answer these questions, it becomes obvious: there are no rational reasons to act in this way.
14273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are you looking at tokens that are not top 50? on: February 21, 2020, 08:54:35 AM
dimonstration

It seems to me that most traders trade mainly not just in the top 50 coins, but rather in the top 10. Liquidity is most important for a trader, so small coins are very bad for trading. There are strategies that allow you to trade on small coins and use their shortcomings (low liquidity) to make a profit, but this most likely does not apply to trading, but to arbitration.
14274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Stands by $4K Bitcoin Price Pre-Halving Prediction on: February 21, 2020, 08:47:30 AM
one of the strong drivers of cryptocurrency growth.

They already have digital cash and contactless payments and its all FIAT.   The reason for crypto wont be because they want to move balances digitally because thats been possible and in majority for many years.   It was possible to remove cash without crypto, the vital part is decentralisation and thats the real jump between the possible and what is now a very fragile centralised system where economies bend to politics more then capitalism.
China is of course not really about capitalism or anything that represents an individual.

I understand that digital fiat has long been used, but digital fiat is under the direct control of banks (in the case of China, it is controlled by the government). If necessary, your balance will be turned into zero. Therefore, crypto has undeniable advantages in this sense, and in case of crisis, they become more in demand.
14275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Stands by $4K Bitcoin Price Pre-Halving Prediction on: February 20, 2020, 08:14:46 PM
Today I saw in the news that cash is being restricted in China because it contributes to the spread of the virus. I think this may be one of the strong drivers of cryptocurrency growth.
But on the other hand, if the Chinese authorities feel a real threat/competition from cryptocurrencies, then they can prohibit or more heavily regulate them. This will be a strong negative impact on cryptocurrency.

I saw the news on TV. This could last for months, I don't think its the reason because if so the downtrend will also last for a period of time which means Toney Vays speculation might actually materialize. [1]

The Chinese asking their men to hand the banknotes to their banks may be the start of digital currency transition of China which they were trying to developed. [2]

1.) Do you mean the economic problems that may arise because of this? But after all, most believe that bitcoin is a protective asset, so if the economy continues to fall, bitcoin will grow, right?

2.) Unfortunately, this will not be relevant to cryptocurrencies. Rather, such actions are similar to digital totalitarianism.
14276  Economy / Speculation / Re: One satoshi for $1 dollar will occur someday on: February 20, 2020, 06:52:07 PM
I think that even a level of $ 100,000 will be absolutely unrealistic. Perhaps the price will touch it for a short time and immediately fall down, but the long-term maintenance of the price at this level is unrealistic since in this case the costs of maintaining the bitcoin network will be absolutely unrealistic (about $ 20 billion a year).
Dont know if this discussion is really worth to be talked on.We have seen millions and hundreds of thousands in prices, being too optimistic isnt bad
and as said by others we should be at least realistic so that we wont stress up our minds on waiting for something which wont gonna happen.
Even on full adoption with btc, we cant reach that price for sure and it would be much more appealing if we do just focus nor do talk
about on when the price will reach its previous ath or even surpass it.

I agree with your assessment and your proposal to be realistic.
As for the discussion of prices and the likelihood of various scenarios, we communicate in the Speculation section, so it is quite logical that here are many traders and those who are just interested in such topics.

14278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your recommended ways of gambling. on: February 20, 2020, 06:36:03 PM
For example, if you win 60% of bets and lose 40%, then for a long distance you will be in the black.
However, at a short distance you can lose almost every time, because of this you must clearly understand that you need patience in order to play a long distance.

Your reasoning is fair regarding bets with approximately equal probability. That is, the probability of the first outcome is approximately equal to the probability of the second outcome. But if a person bets on a coefficient of 1.1 or 1.2 and wins with a frequency of only 60%, then he will definitely be in the red.
14279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Illegal gambling in Asian football increased partly because of crypto? on: February 20, 2020, 06:21:23 PM
Cryptocurrency had become a safe haven for illegal activities. It is not actually shocking that illegal gambling will use crypto in their activities since it offers anonymity. It is just sad that Satoshi dis not intend for crypto to be used to that extent.

Don't fall for the headlines and do your own research. It has been pointed out so many times, even by both sides of the regulation that so little of Bitcoin and crypto activity is related to illegal activity.

Banks and fiat currencies and other jurisdictions are safe havens. Not crypto.

I don’t understand why you argue with him. The fact is that cryptocurrencies have the properties of fiat money (anonymity), but they can be exchanged online. This makes them very convenient for criminal activities. The fact that other types of money are also involved in crime activities does not cancel this fact.
