pics or it didn't happen!  Trading wurde unterbrochen bei -7% Achja, in 4 Tagen endet das Verkaufsverbot von Aktien in China für Großaktionäre. Da geht wohl die Angst vor dem großen Ausverkauf um  DAX (xetra) sieht auch nicht besser aus.  Hoffe aber mal hier wird nix unterbrochen. alle banken zahlen -0,4 % einlagen zins in europa! wenn die Märkte abstürzen und gold auch wegen dem starken Dollar! muss das Geld irgendwo unter gebracht werden, wo es kostenlos gelagert wird! Frag dich selbst wo es frei ist!
Ich sag's mal so: Bitcoin hat noch gut Platz. Wir diskriminieren da auch nicht. Ich verkaufe meine Coins auch gerne an arme Banken die sonst negativ-Zinsen zahlen müssen... allerdings nicht für €400. |

My prediction would be an All Time High. We should be around $1300, with the market fully absorbing the reality of the block reward halving. Quite a good call. I differ on timing: I think the reality will have been absorbed by then (that might happen around November '16) and we will already have corrected (from $3-5k or whatever down to $2017). |

I don't understand why we need bits though. It is unnecessary. Bitcoin by itself is fine. It is like comparing it with Satoshi's or mbtc.

We will have an insane pump during the halving, obliterating the latest ATH. People will think it will stop sooner than it will stop, so a lot of people will lose a lot of people trying to short. Those that do hold, will end up victorious, with measly gains, and still holding their BTC intact.

Are you serious? No one with a brain thinks it's going to crash at 320 by the first week of January, the general trend is nowhere but UP. Op only has 24 hours left to admit he was wrong and next week we'll nowhere near 320 but higher. Depends how you count the weeks and hence where he lives. If you have implemented a calendar with week numbers you know determining which is the first week depends on the locale of the user. Where I live, "week 1" is the week (starting with a monday (not on a sunday, because god didn't rest on the first day of the week, but the last)) that includes the first thursday of the year. So now (saturday in my timezone) is still week 52 of the old year. So "week 1" starts monday the 4th and ends sunday, Jan 10th. |

I also believe that Bitcoin will rise in this year. Smashing the longstanding ATH happens probably before summer.

I like this stability, because it provides more certainty to potential bitcoin investors. I don't see a price below the $350 level, and it is more likely a gradual rise to $600 in the next months.
I would be happy to see this, but I have a feeling volatility is going to be surprisingly high for 2016. |

@rpietila, thanks for coming back to tell the story. You're also needed here and elsewhere. Your story prompts me to post this... I've been to 32C3 in Hamburg "between the years" and a couple of talks stuck with me. Most importantly this one: The price of dissent ( youtube mirrorIt's a talk by some people from a UK organization called "Cage" that helps people with legal cases (people taken to prison for years with no (sorry: "secret") evidence without due process (sorry: by "secret courts") and shit like that, especially the unpopular ones that established organizations do not dare to touch. Currently mainly ones from the muslim communities within the UK. What stuck with me most is this quote: It's fundamental that if we do not protect the rights of everybody, then really we don't have the right for anybody.

Mir persönlich macht nicht die Lösung an sich Sorgen, sondern auf welche Art sie vorbereitet (und uns als alternativlos aufgezwungen) wird (teifgreifende Änderungen (nötig oder wünschenswert für LN) werden teilweise ohne Konsens und ohne angemessen breite Diskussion in Bitcoin Core eingebaut, zum Beispiel: CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY (makes later merge of relative locking easier), ...
Picken wir mal CLTV raus. Was ist daran problematisch oder umstritten? Wie und warum leiden diejenigen, die diese Funktion nicht nutzen unter dieser Funktion? Welche sonstigen Nachteile bringt CLTV? CLTV ist in der Tat das am wenigsten umstrittene Beispiel. Hier gab es vor allem Uneinigkeit was die Art der Einführung (als softfork statt hardfork) betraf. Leiden tun die anderen allerdings sehr, wenn 0-confirmation Transaktionen nicht mehr sicher genug funktionieren oder das eigene Wallet nicht mehr alle Transaktionen annehmen kann weil SEGWIT nicht unterstützt wird. Ausserdem ist SEGWIT eine recht komplexe Änderung der Codebase... unter dem Risiko leiden alle und die komplette Wallet-, Explorer-, usw-Landscape muss angepasst werden. Das verursacht Kosten und andere Schmerzen. Ich bin ja auch garnicht gegen Segregated Witness (ist aber keine Scaling-Lösung, dahingehend nur Augenwischerei) und schon garnicht gegen CLTV, ich mag's nur nicht daß es alles so "von oben" bestimmt wird... noch dazu Teilweise mit für mich unterträglicher Arroganz (v.a. Todd). (Am meisten gehen mir derzeit übrigens die Miner auf den Sack. Diese kurzsichtigen Hosenscheisser und Jammerlappen haben alle Macht und schreien bei Vater Staat den Core-Devs nach Führung ("sagt uns was wir tun sollen, wir übernehmen die Default Config von Bitcoin Core"! Haben also die Macht aber geben sie ab. So wie manche Beamte: bloss keine Verantwortung übernehmen. Ist aber trotzdem so, sorry. Ihr minet die Blöcke.)
Und für die Nutzer gilt das gleiche. Die gehen mir teilweise ebenfalls auf die Nüsse. Sie aktzeptieren die Blöcke der Miner oder leiten sie sogar weiter. Trotzdem jammern sie dauernd herum, dass sie nicht zu melden haben, und wollen gleichzeitig, dass die Miner und die Entwickler ihnen sagen wo's lang geht. Ich gebe dir Recht. Man sollte allerdings vielleicht nicht ganz so pauschalisieren wie wir es tun (" die Miner", " die Nutzer"), aber es stimmt schon: keiner ist hier gänzlich machtlos. |
