So here is the scenario, I have an Electrum wallet on my laptop. Now i want to download electrum (or any other wallet on my android phone) and setup a watch only wallet on my phone.
The reason is that since i carry my mobile always with me, i do not want seed to be stored in my phone, A watch only wallet will help me see my funds and in case of a phone lost, my bitcoins will not be at risk.

I have used different browsers on my Mobile phone and it is a frustrating experience with all of them.
I'm well aware that the you may have been frustrated with the Bitcointalk webpage while on the phone it looks so small you have to zoom in to see it properly, but if you're used to it it's fine. I think it's better to simplify it so that it can be adapted to web pages on cellphones rather than making applications. Well, reading bitcointalk from a mobile browser is not easy and you need to regularly zoom in to see what's written there. I am ok with it because i only use to read bitcointalk seldomly on a mobile browser as i mainly use a laptop. A mobile app will solve this reading issue as it will be made keeping in view the small screen of the mobile phone and adjusting the font accordingly. Also, writing post from mobile is more difficult and it becomes even more difficult if you want to quote different replies in a single post. |

WhY is it that Metaspin campaign is not stable? Like this that the campaign is not, it's affect the manager. That's good that now people are learning and the are doing good decision. I think ledger wallet is for those people have larger money I mean from 100k dollars plus value. Cause when they need their money they can make Transaction, unless their wallet is safe and their money is safe too. But regarding your dad can I ask for what purpose he bought Ledger wallet.
A Ledger Nano S Plus is just $90. If you're a long-term investor, that purchase should be a total no-brainer. Why use a hardware wallet just when you already have $100k? Heck, I purchased my first hardware wallet when I had like $2000. People who have fewer funds should not buy hardware wallets as the software wallet should be enough for them. Finally, due to a large number of scams and everyone targeting people crypto and bitcoin, always order or buy it from an official store. Do not trust any reseller no matter how much he is trusted. I would not call it a drawback of open source wallets, but it is more of carelessness from the people who download the fake wallets.
To be very straightforward, if a person cannot detect a fake wallet and does not know from where to download an open source wallet, or how to verify it then I am afraid he deserves to lose his funds.
The scammer can clone or do whatever he wants to do, the crypto investors should first learn on how to stay away from phishing attempts.
I never read any news open wallet apps can be hacked except user carelessness can't tell the difference between cloned apps and downloading unofficial wallet apps, phishing and others. All those faults are possible that the wallet can be hacked and all the assets will be stolen, the phishing statistics have increased drastically in the first half of 2022. So it is important that users should use the official wallet application and avoid all the mistakes that are vulnerable to hacking. Phishing attempts can be done on trust wallet, open source, and closed source wallets. If anyone loses funds because of Phishing, it is not the loophole in the open/closed source wallets. As i told earlier, the crypto investors need to educate themselves more if they want to stay safe from scammers. Using trust wallets for altcoins can be an option but a better one is an unstoppable wallet. Using different wallets including an electrum wallet for bitcoin is the best approach in my point of view. |

I saw your previous thread when you first introduced yourself as an alternative to Preev.com which is offline.
Although I don't know when they (the developer/owner of preev) fixed the site but preev.com actually is now working (i accessed it by the time of writing), but it doesn't have secured (https://) connection for now. I too didn't notice that but Preev.com is up again. Now we have two sites preev.com and PNNV.com with additional options of exchange as well. Both working at my end, seems like the maintenance is over. When someone swap or exchange, the funds go to my account and in the backend, I'm sending my funds (that's why it takes a bit more time to swap) which means if someone loses money, I am responsible for it.
So how long will one have to wait after sending the funds for exchange. And i understand that you are responsible for it but isn't risky too as there is no escrow |

This is just pure scam. This wallet is likely to be run by bot. There are some legit tokens on that wallet and the time you but it, you will be willing to withdraw the funds. And that's where you lose. You put some BNB/ETH or whatever you need to move those funds and they are automatically send out to other wallet that the scammer owns and controlled by bot.
And not to mention that he owns the private key too. And we all know what he can do with that.
So, anyone thinking of buying. Don't.
OP never come back to this thread after offering this service in early February this year. I hope no one contacted him and bought this private key of an address. I heard in some other thread that there was an address that contains a lot of USDT and for anyone who transfers Ethereum to pay the tx fee, it was moved to another wallet automatically. A lot of newbies and even experienced can easily fall for this scam.  |

What one change would you like to see in bitcointalk in 2023?
Why is everyone wants to change some of the features on this forum? Why aren't we happy with the current setup of the forum? If there was to change anything, theymos would have done it already. When the forum admin did not want any changes and think everything is perfect, why do we insist on the changes? My answer is that I am happy with the current bitcointalk forum and no changes are required. |

As far as I know many people are afraid that they will regret giving away their bitcoin for a good, because they think the bitcoins will be worth way more later. Those people are in bitcoin to make money and not to use it, as it was planned. Unfortunately 80%+ of users think so.
Why are we afraid that it is not used as a currency as the moment? It will be used as a currency plus a store of value in the future, there is no doubt about it as the paper money era is going to collapse soon and we will see bitcoin take over. Currently, people prefer to invest in bitcoin and not use it in transactions because they are not allowed to do that. There is a fear of being caught and suspected of money laundering if they got caught by the government and law-making authorities. The governments are mostly anti-bitcoin and therefore people invest privately in bitcoin and do not tell anyone about their wealth in digital currency. |

And you are right this big ? on the management they are even not telling the criteria too. It makes no sense for them to say, at least all, the criteria used. Because that could facilitate the vitiating of these same criteria, or at least try to do so. On the other hand, in my opinion, the criteria used go far beyond the information we all have access to here on the forum. It is possible to collect a lot of information about the forum internally, which only administrators with access to the backoffice of the server have access. I think there is no set criteria for the creation of a local board and hence it is never told publicly or officially. For example, if it was publicly stated that you need to have this many active members, these many posts, these many merits, etc, then maybe the local thread participants may try to engage in artificial discussion only to achieve the numbers. But since nothing is told about the eligibility of the local board, it seems that forum admins want to create the local board on the natural activity, and it is good in my opinion. |

So, we need to be careful in selecting the coins in this bear market and find their use cases that may remain relevant in the next bull season. I really don't see what the drawback or issue for the forum admins on not creating the board. Maybe they have to do a bit of programming to set up the board and assign a moderator for the board. Fail to understand the exact reason for delaying board creation???
You have registered on the forum back in 2015 so how many how new boards addition you have seen from @theymos till then? It's not that if there is no drawback they will have it implemented on the urgent basis and they will take time considering lot of factors.The Nigerian community has it's own board after years of request and actively participating in the local thread discussion with lot of merits as well so @theymos have a separate board for them now.So now same is the case with Pakistani board as well and if @theymos find it suitable he will make addition for it if he find it's needed otherwise they can keep their request bumped and community support in future. Since 2015, i have seen only Nigerian board being created recently. I am not aware if any other board is created since that time. Lots of discussions and active participation can be one of the reasons for the creation of a local board, don't think a lot of merits should be the criteria or it can be if we are looking for quality. Quality>quantity.

Is this similar to direct bet (an old gambling site) where we don't need to create accounts for betting? Seems like you offer a similar service but using Ethereum. I agree, that it is scary to connect your wallet unknown sites, though. However if you create a wallet and transfer only funds that you afford to loose, it is another story. Probably tomorrow will give it a try, and will share the experience here. Not only it is scary to connect a wallet but also it is scary to bet out deposits. Why not give some free money to people so that they may check your site with free money and test your site?
