I hit 'report to moderator'. That should get someones attention. It does, but... he was whitelisted for over an hour by the time you sent the report. In fact, I didn't even know about this thread until now. I had just processed the request that was put in the main queue... Oh yea! Well answer me this, smart guy. Who's driving the short bus that we're all riding in? That is great Maged. I will let him know. I'm sure he's still sleeping now, fighting the flu, and probably still getting up in the morning to hit the road. That's one hell of a life, but I saw in his eyes that he loves what he does and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Here's hoping that Bitcoin will better his job of choice. BTW, Martin, my brother-in-law, will be tooling a leather wallet for him. A gift I promised him just for joining BitcoinTalk. It'll be a custom job with the Bitcoin logo on one side, and the Flash Cab logo on the other. Inside will have his name. I just thought of something while typing that last sentence. Instead of his real name, I'm going to have Chicago Cabbie on that leather name plate. All with custom weaving around the outside of the wallet. A deluxe model valued at $150 USD. I already paid Martin ahead of time. I'll make sure the images are posted here before I send it to him. I'm still not sure if I creating commerce with Bitcoin or slowly going broke. Either way, I'm having the time of my life. Now who the hell is working on my cape?~Bruno~ I have an unused ikea shower curtain you may have!

ChicagoCabbie is now a member of this forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=49482He has yet to post or put in a single minute of viewing this board since becoming a member earlier today. That said, I respectively request that he be whitelisted ASAP, due to the unique circumstances surrounding the having him come on board. I'm not sure who to specifically ask or PM, therefore opt to post my request here, with the hope that someone on staff or another member helps accelerate this process. If the latter is the case, please PM the proper authorities. Sincerely, Bruno +1

The awards to me mean nothing..
It was very very poorly done.. that was evident early on..
Plus I kept submitting Bitminter Java miner as GPU miner software.. and it kept getting deleted. why ?
So the whole thing was a joke, I dont think they meant to be a scam though.

I was looking at the market depth on bitcoin.clarkmoody.com, and it struck me as being very thin both ways. Currently that table says it would take about 10000 BTC to push the price to around either 3.7 or 9.45. However, btccharts.com and mtgoxlive say the book is already 35,000 BTC deep at around 5.8 or 7.5. Quite a discrepancy - what gives?
edit: Now it's changed quite a bit, more like 22,0000 to 3.7, but still way off what the other charts are saying.
edit2: OK, if I reload the depth gets thinner again on clarkmoody.com. Some kind of connection issue I guess, it's having trouble downloading the whole ordebook.
The data on bitcoin.clarkmoody.com reflects the depth of market download from https://mtgox.com/api/1/BTCUSD/public/fulldepth. I just checked, and there is a difference between my site and mtgoxlive. I also independently downloaded the depth table and computed some sample sums manually. It's almost as if the API is reporting different numbers to different sites. I smell mtgox conspiracy!

This is pretty interesting, thanks for sharing. I remember reading somewhere that Bruce Wagner may have been behind that whole fiasco. No evidence buuuuttttt... I feel all funny and weird watching his show on YouTube now, rather than giddy and excited when I watched it pre-MyBitcoin incident... :-/
I always felt funny watching Bruce's show (the few times I bothered) because he didn't ask the right questions, he had no clue what he was talking about, and he reminded me of a used car salesman trying to get me to buy a Ford Pinto because they are so safe. Plus up, up, up was just retarded. Luckily that show was not my introduction to Bitcoin or I would have probably assumed it was a scam (without bothering to find out how awesome it actually is). Hope you wore protection! I had my 9mm on me the whole time. Thats it... ? He could've swung it in you before you had a chance to react...

i'm not really a person. im a cleverly devised forum bot meant to permabull and make incredibly accurate decisions pre-informed by the Manipulator so that i can single-handedly drive up prices again and again, solely for profit-taking.
then, of course, i will take over the world.
/troll
You have to put the /troll in brackets... [/troll] or the forum doesn't recognize what your doing..

we're going back up ppl.
Dow did a typical checkmark reversal and ended up today. the USD was down.
the Reflation has begun and USD have begun to look for the new safe haven other than gold: Bitcoin.
right gold safe haven right bitcoin safe haven 2012 is not not the year of mass adoption to me it is the last year of 50 coins per block and quite certainly one more year of bad press. Will it stop me from buying when low - no There will be a snowball effect going on through the summer of this year.. Mass adoption will seem to come fast, but I think the first wave will be this year... then shortly after.. everyone will be scrambling to use it efficiently.. Keep your socks on, will be an interesting year!

Strange how it's always the .2's which provide so much resistance/support. 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 6.2... 7.2
this is an almost completely psychology-driven market. we like dollar multiples and +/- $0.2 is apparently the right amount of deviation to produce the momentum necessary to get us to the next level of resistance. to test my theory, as the BTCUSD rate increases, so should the distance from each dollar multiple to its envelopes of resistance, as it really ought to be a percentage of the rate rather than a scalar. I heavily subscribe to this train of thought..
|
|
|
.2 's = tipping point ?
We blasted through 7.2 on the initial rally up to 7.50. I dont subscribe to this theory. Good point, I dont recall last move. hence the question mark...
