Rome – In his homily, held this morning in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis with great ease and amazement among the faithful present reveals: “Dear brothers, I wanted to tell all of you that we are not alone in the universe. Science has already made so much progress and will most likely soon will know our new brothers and sisters with whom we will exchange a sign of peace. On that day there will be wonder and remember that God is one and watching over us all. ”

The Vatican does have a long history of eerily hinting at extraterrestrial life. It does make one wonder what they know that we don't
1482  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Eurovision: What were your top 3? on: May 13, 2014, 12:28:54 PM
Eurovision is so fake that it isnt even funny anymore. They give 50% points to the public and 50% to a puppet jury that does as they are told, so even if you have a good song but aren't supposed to win, you won't. Just look at the spread between people's votes and the jury in some cases.
Eurovision is a joke . First of all the voting is so predictable is ridiculous.. Mother Russia and all the former Yugoslavia countries voting for each other even if they the songs are horrible (almost every year they are). .. the only reason to watch eurovision is to laugh at the songs that sound like someone being stabbed but when the voting starts you are like kill me now..

1484  Economy / Economics / Re: Forbes 2014 btc prediction on: May 13, 2014, 12:06:25 PM
This author knows nothing about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a deflationary currency and can never be inflated. It’s amazing how people can get paid to write about a subject they know nothing about. Bitcoin is unique in that it is free from borders and government interference, and is already backed by immense distributed computing power that offers you a guarantee on the integrity of transactions.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mastercard hired 5 lobbyists to slam bitcoin in US Congress on: May 13, 2014, 10:20:27 AM
Instead of lobbying, they should implement bitcoin into their plastic cards. A plastic card is cheaper than a smartphone.
That will be that smart thing to do!But they can't think smart now,are scared and trying to get rid of competition.Mastercard is digging it own grave.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay - the first tech giant to accept Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2014, 09:50:34 AM
Since ebay owns PayPal, this is unlikely to happen.
Sooner or later they will consider adopt bitcoin!Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the future,Paypal has already a lot of haters because of the way they froze the money and close accounts most of the times on no reason. So  if they don't consider accepting bitcoin, slowly they will lose clients .
1487  Other / Politics & Society / Re: our USA education system sucks and is obsolete on: May 12, 2014, 03:38:21 PM
The future of education will all be online.

Sure kids might go some place with teachers assistants or a type of "babysitter" for a few hours to work on their online assignments, but it will still all be done online.

Florida already offers a full, free curriculum online where you can get full credit including a high school diploma.

The teacher's union is unionizing teachers right out of a job.

On a side note regarding "education paradigms", most of college, and much of grad school could easily be done online. I haven't gone to a single lecture after like 4 months of starting, since I can get everything online and there are better teachers out there than what most schools offer (Khan Academy etc).

But with the huge demand for country club campuses and government guaranteeing loans (even if you pursue something like art history), tuition will never stop increasing.
Right now there's a proposal in California to have the state pay for STEM fields tuition. The student pays it back in the form of an income tax after graduation. The proposal is limited to STEM fields because "he doesn’t want a bunch of lazy arts students taking advantage of free tuition and paying back almost nothing from their negligible future salaries."
It's hysterical that he actually said that, mostly because he's right and that's so rare for politicians

No he isn't.
Long term education decisions shouldn't always be driven by the market.
Often times the market is shortsighted and we undervalue many forms of education and art

The whole idea of university and scholarly pursuit should have at least some degree of independence both from political pressure and economics.

Some of the greatest advancements to human thought and philosophy have come from those deemed less valuable by the markets of their respective time.

We should be encouraging STEM studies. I'm not saying I'm against you going for an English or liberal arts degree, it's just I believe if were going to help someone get an education it should be in science, technology or math, so they could possibly use it in the future for something other than making sure the drive-through orders are correct.
I don't think anyone is saying that non-STEM fields should be funded while STEM fields aren't funded.
There's nothing really wrong with that , but as far as practical application is concerned, obviously STEM fields are much more likely to be paid back. I don't think loans should be issued to arts and science majors as though they are all of equal risk. If you're going into a field that is less likely to be able to afford to pay back the loan, then that should factor into whether you get a loan, and it should factor into the loan amount as well.

if you are going to make more money as a science major
you should be willing to pay more for your credits than an art major
Yeah, I think schools should be able to adjust tuition rates based on demand for the class.
I think it's pretty obvious that tuition rates are inflated at this point, though; they are not even remotely commensurate with the value of the education that gets provided.
I guess what I'm getting at is that instead of paying more for science classes, students should just be paying less for art classes. At a certain level, we're saying the same thing. I just prefer the way I'm framing it.

Yes, they can take the money while never knowing "who" the source is.  Will they be labeled as anarchists or subversives?  No.
Of course they are going to accept it, I'm surprised because of the level of anonymity it offers that they didn't come out and say this a few years ago.

You would think he wouldn't have to sell his house to pay for legal fees considering he made a lot of money but he probably doesn't want to keep the house anymore

The OJ Simpson Lawyer's Verdict On Pistorius :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1DfpuTHGYg
Hearing this lawyer talk openly makes it crystal clear to anybody with even half a brain that  these court hearings are but a game to be won by whoever has the smartest lawyer who knows best how to manipulate the legal system , where is the justice in that ?

I slleptalk. Once my sister said that I even shouted loudly "WHERE IS MY APPLE, YOU'VE STOLE IT" - during my sleep.
Also haven't you heard about sleep paralysis - this shit is really scary - you feel awake, but you can't move or make a single sound. Your eyes are widely open, and you've got that strange feeling that someone else is in your room, sitting and watching how you sleep. And you try to scream, but nothing happens. And then you finally wake up. I really hate that feeling.

My mom told me that she use to find me in the kitchen in the middle of the night ,just staring with my eyes open,in the morning i couldn't remember nothing.
2 years ago i was alone at home, and i wake-up in the middle of the night felling chilli,i tried to wake-up up from bed and i couldn't move...was so so freaking scary....i couldn't go back to sleep.I didn't know was called sleep paralysis, all was so real and scary.

1493  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Freedom on: May 12, 2014, 12:27:39 PM
Bitcoin brings us all Freedom

 Bitcoin is Freedom
 ---------------------

Bitcoin is Freedom from oppression, exploitation & tyranny by Banksters & Governments.

From cradle to grave we have all been financial debt slaves through the debt based fiat currency schemes that should have long ago been outlawed.

Bitcoin offers People an avenue of Safe Haven that assures a fiscally disciplined currency.

Bitcoin is vastly superior to traditional fiat currency schemes.

Bitcoin brings all Peoples Freedom by forcing Decentralized Monetary Competition, and by doing that it will eventually force governments to become fiscally disciplined with their monetary matters, or suffer monetary failures repeatedly until they do.

Bitcoin will ultimately free governments from their Bankster Masters (each countries Central Bank) when governments finally re-learn to print and issue their own debt-free currencies, while abolishing their existing Central Banks powers and controls over them. This will hopefully occur as the present system fails and governments finally realize they hold all the cards, not the Banksters.

So simply put:

 Bitcoin is Freedom
 ---------------------

Smiley

You know Bitcoin is important because governments around the world are all thinking about how to stop or regulate it. It’s difficult to overestimate the potential benefits of Bitcoin and its associated block chain technology. For the first time in human history it’s possible for anyone to send money to, or receive money from anyone else on the planet, virtually free of charge, with complete safety, and without the permission of any corporation or government. So yes bitcoin is the start of freedom .
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Acceptance of Bitcoin! on: May 12, 2014, 11:58:29 AM
It is a fair warning. There are a heck of a lot of Bitcoin scams going on. If 'investors' need to be warned about promises of guaranteed high rewards, then they deserve to get ripped off as they're not really 'investors'.
1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Does the US Military Think Bitcoin Is a Terrorist Threat? on: May 12, 2014, 11:36:28 AM
It’s fascinating to watch Bitcoin evolve, as more players begin to understand the technology. Law enforcement, financial regulators, investors, big banks, Congress, and now the US military are all struggling to understand how Bitcoin and virtual currencies fit into our financial world of the future.

The only mildly disturbing entry into the Bitcoin world is the military, putting out bids to understand the role of virtual currencies in financing terror networks. Bitcoin Magazine discovered an unclassified memo that lists project funding for understanding cryptocurrencies and lists Bitcoin specifically. There are other government and law enforcement agencies working on understanding terrorist finances, and it’s hard to see the value in so many duplicate efforts. The core mission of the military is to be the best in the world at breaking things and killing people. The farther they stray from that core mission, the less desirable the outcome. Mission creep has rarely resulted in something good happening.

bitcoinYet the biggest threat to Bitcoin and virtual currencies doesn’t come from government or law enforcement; by far the more ominous threat to emerge is Wall Street. Big banks and electronic payment systems are studying the underlying technology of virtual currencies to see if public ledgers, like those used in Bitcoin, could have value in the financial services market. The answer to that question is most definitely “yes,” but that’s not really the question they’re trying to answer. What Wall Street wants to know is how it can implement the underlying technology to lower costs, while still maintaining its grip on the nation’s system of financial exchange.

Even Goldman Sachs believes the “blockchain” technology that underlies Bitcoin has commercial potential. The current money transfer system used by banks in the US is called the Automated Clearing House, or ACH network. ACH settles money transfers in business a day, an eternity in Internet time. That’s why it can take as long as three or four days to get money transferred from your PayPal account to your bank account. Bitcoin settles trades in minutes; and a newer variation of the blockchain technology, called Ripple, settles trades in seconds. All of those cryptocurrency transactions are carried out securely over public networks by systems that have no central authority.

There is even talk of banks using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange directly, but it seems more likely banks would develop their own digital currency for exchange, one that couldn’t be used in any other context.

It’s obvious by now that government is not going to be able to stop Bitcoin or other digital currencies. If the Chinese can’t stop digital currencies with a blanket prohibition, no one can. But Wall Street interests, working closely with the government regulators they’ve spent so much money shaping to their own benefit, represent a clear and viable threat to budding digital currency networks. Big money has the potential to corrupt the technology to its own devices, and then squash any would be competitors.

It’s not hard to imagine the outcome if Wall Street manages to reign in digital currency; just imagine what the Internet would look like today without net neutrality. Instead of an open and healthy marketplace, we would have a collection of Balkanized services controlled by a handful of players at the top. That’s why companies like AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast have all been so relentlessly attacking net neutrality and, until just recently, have been thwarted in those efforts.

Banks don’t like open markets or competition, and they’re not going to repeat the mistakes of history by letting competing technologies develop without challenge.

Sir Richard Branson might be crazy but normal people don't change the world. The Rambam was crazy; Columbus was crazy; Einstein was crazy; Ed Kroc was crazy; Moshe Feiglin was crazy; Fred Smith (Fedex) was crazy; Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were crazy. It's a long list. The list of people that did nothing in the name of normalcy is much longer - but they remain unknown. Pick one.

Pepsi vs Cola ?  Cool

I like Twist (with lemon) too, but I avoid the "lights" version of both, because the producers use aspartame and this is dangerous for the health.

Pepsi!

And I avoid light versions too.
But now I have Pepsi Next and it have 30% less sugar than normal Pepsi.
It have Stevia, it is healthy(?).
Stevia, derived from the sweetleaf plant native to South America, is an excellent substitute for sugar,
Here's why it's so good: Stevia leaves contain two "glycoside" molecules, steioside and rebaudioside, which are 300 times sweeter than table sugar. The leaves can be used whole or in ground form in food and beverages. More typically, the sweet glycosides themselves are extracted from the plant material and sold as a processed powder or concentrated liquid.
But I still don't think that  light pepsi with stevia is good for health …..even if is sugar free it has other bad chemicals in.

I couldn't figure out why I was turning funny and turned around. Saw my tire 20 feet behind me just rollin' away. Crashed into a ditch going 40mph.
