A week? These marketplaces don't seem to have much of a lifespan.

Yeah, hard to trust the new ones that pop up too. Lots of scammers on there and it's usually the operators who are the biggest threat. Risky even sending money to a marketplace as they'll go down one way or another pretty quickly.

He's still holding all that raffle money? Can't Theymos contact him and ask him to send the money out? I think he returned the forums money he was holding pretty swiftly.
yes you right but he is anonymous no one know about him who now about him can any one have his contact its biggest question

Theymos seems to be able to contact him and get a response, so have people tried that route? Is he ignoring all other forms of communication - emails etc?
14904  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked on: February 12, 2014, 07:20:30 PM
Had my account hacked.

Account Name: PyroTekNeks

Now they're making threads posing as me.
Has tons of neg reviews now.

What to do, what to do?
I really doubt there's any "real" support on the site.

Contact an admin they should be able to do something. In the meantime maybe leave a negative feedback comment on your account explaining the situation.

Edit: Just checked the feedback and whatever has happened the feedback is justified as clearly they're sockpuppets.

I fuked about 3 4 times with my gf and she had a baby on her 16.now I am dad.

That's the problem with sex, guys forget they're shooting babies out the head and girls never forget. That makes them too afraid of sex and we aren't afraid enough.

what happened to foresight
i'm calling their bluff

If anyone is doing research I will gladly donate a percentage of my profits to have proper contraceptive pill for men.

( Seriously I really don't want to get a girl pregnant and the thought terrifies me )

I think you can worry about that when you find a woman who'll let you near her haha, And there are contraceptive pills for men being worked on: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/relationships/10490331/New-contraceptive-pill-for-men.html

I  don't understand how you guys are loosing money? Your not trying to "invest" in bitcoin are you? Bitcoin is not designed to be an investment vehicle. It is a currency. You buy it then spend it online when you see something you want.  IMO, investing in bitcoin should be considered very risky.

It is risky, as with any investment, but people are drawn to it because they've seen others get rich quick and now want a piece of the pie, but quickly learn it's not the magical investment they thought it would be.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/utopia-drug-marketplace-shut-down-by-dutch-police-1436099

Seems another market went down yesterday. I'm sure most will get taken down eventually but others will just pop up to replace them.

Was it shut down after only a week? How's that possible? How did the govt. become this effective? Usually it takes weeks, months and even years for any investigation to reach a stage where services are actually shut down and owners are jailed.

I don't know all the details, but if it is true that it was shut down after just one week of operating, that's the kind of effectiveness that's unheard of for public law enforcement.

I didn't realise it'd only been open a week. Maybe they were just really fucking sloppy with their security, but yeah, you'd think it'd take them longer than that to get a warrant.

14911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock getting close $1million sales in bitcoin on: February 12, 2014, 06:22:36 PM
Agreed. A million more in sales per month is no small potatoes.

Jeeze, it seems much longer than a month. Time really does move fast in cryptoworld.
14912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone sending out MilliBits on: February 12, 2014, 06:20:07 PM
Ok: more suspiciously, 1SochiWwFFySPjQoi2biVftXn8NRPCSQC has just sent me 1 satoshi. Literally just now.
That probably means someone is screwing around, probably on this forum: saw my post and sent it almost straightaway.
Come on, people. If you're going to prank someone at least make it 0.1 bitcoins.

That happened to somebody else on here about ten minutes after they posted in one of the threads haha. Maybe just coincidence?
14913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock getting close $1million sales in bitcoin on: February 12, 2014, 06:16:31 PM
This is exactly what merchants need to do to drum up bitcoin business.  Like I've said before, there is no incentive to shop with BTC if you don't already have some.  No one is going to go thru the hassle of obtaining BTC just to shop with them, unless there is some benefit to using them, such as a discount, free shipping, or a rewards program like overstock is doing.  Good job Overstock!!

Yeah, the CEO of Overstock is such a renegade. There's a great article on him over in the Press section. I hope him/them accepting/dealing with BTC really pays off for them.
14914  Economy / Speculation / Re: bye bitcoin, this is the end on: February 12, 2014, 06:14:02 PM
Why does everyone think the slightest bad news means "the end for bitcoin!"  Just because some people get arrested and there are bad media reports doesn't signal the end.  Just "growing pains" as some have put it.  People need to stop with the mentality that is "to the moon" or "its over."  BTC is gaining, even though the value in terms of USD may have taken a hit recently

This is how FUD-sters work, and also newbs who are just mad/jelly that they don't have any coins.
14915  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sent bitcoins not showing in blockchain, already been 8hour.. how come? Help pls on: February 12, 2014, 06:07:51 PM
Nothing will be lost.

Worst case the transaction will time out and will show up again in your client.

Yeah, you should be fine. What exchange are you sending to?
14916  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Official "OMG my wife is about to have a baby" Thread on: February 12, 2014, 05:57:45 PM
WOW!  name him Doge

This dude names his son "Dogecoin" as the first name, I throw in 5 BTCs, but he has to prove it is legally his name.

Not happening, even for 500 btc.  Nope.  No way.  Never

What would be so bad? You can always change his name. You could take the coins and use them as a trustfund for the kid. I doubt gweedo is serious though.

I was very serious.

My friend just had a baby on the 10th and they only just decided his name today so they wont've officially named him yet, and he's the type of guy that will do stupid shit for coin. Would you be willing to put that money is escrow?  Grin

Nope it was just for this guy.

Sounds like you wern't very serious then.
He was very serious.

So he said.

I explain it to you, if this dude named his baby "Dogecoin" people would pick up on that namely the press. Not only would I get a ton of press for being the person that paid, and promotions of my sites. And while you are probably saying 5BTC is a lot for press but it is different kind of press. They aren't looking at it as an ad but as a I did something crazy, and would drive more traffic.

I'm aware of that. That doesn't mean you'd seriously pay the money. Why does it matter if you pay it to this guy then or somebody else?

Why I am an honest person and never scammed anyone here. If I am offering then I am willing to pay. 5 BTCs aren't that expensive to me, but not to bragging.

The reason I wanted to pay this guy and not your friend cause this is just a random act, I rather keep it that.

The reason probably is you decided you don't want to run the risk of losing 5BTC, but nice try   Wink. If five BTCs aren't expensive and the media coverage is worth it to you, why does it matter who does it? I'm sure if this guy would've been serious about it you'd've weaselled out of that too, but I guess we'll never know, unless the OP decides to take you up on the offer. How about it, op? You can always change the babies name after a month I'm sure.

Probably just hot air trying to shit you up, but what have you been doing to warrant the threat?
14918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition for iPhone wallets on: February 12, 2014, 05:45:13 PM
Just look how popular jailbreaking is.
But apple never supported users unlocking their phones, and they probably never will.
I still doubt that the take-down of apps is compatible to their rights in the store, in my eyes someone needs to sue them for market manipulation.

I never said they did, but the fact that people have to even unlock them shows you how needlessly restrictive Apple is. People should just ditch them altogether. Hopefully they will overtime and their sales will reflect that, then they might reconsider the business practises.
14919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need Reverse Transactions on: February 12, 2014, 05:43:33 PM
Hey OP, why don't you just use PayPal and not waste time here?

lol, I'm sure Bitcoin will have it's own Paypal eventually that people will use to scam.
You can't be sure about this.
If we , the people, don't allow it, it won't happen.

But we all know "people" are made up of "average joes"  Grin.
14920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs and fake money problem? on: February 12, 2014, 05:42:29 PM

I'm not an expert in atm machines , but i think it's just a piece of software that runs when you inset a bill that checks it against some patterns.
So it would be fairly easy to get a recognition software that detect fakes , just like banks have , for every bill out there , and install it with a few clicks.

I doubt that this is not the standard procedure , otherwise I'm pretty sure we would have already seen reports of people inserting some home printed money in those machines.

Ok, then why in most banks there are still a human cashiers that personally check some of the bills and it's not all automated?
Based on what experience or facts you think is easy to make a software that recognizes fake money?

The cashiers do other jobs too. Most banks in the UK tell you to use the automated machines if you're paying in money / cheques because it saves time. My mate even had a note swallowed because it was fake, so they obviously work.

And there wasn't any alarm? No closed doors and police units storming the bank?

He was shot before he could get to the door. Jokes, it just told him on the screen that a counterfeit had been detected and gave him a receipt detailing that it had been kept and what to do to retrieve or contest it.
