1501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Throw more light to the associated risks involved than just the profits. on: January 31, 2023, 03:59:53 PM
In conclusion, let's also lay some emphasis on the risks associated with investing in crypto as we do with the profit too.
This is applicable for people who are not in this forum and very important as you involve yourself in raising awareness about bitcoins to people around you. They have to know the risks with bitcoins when invested in, to help still shape their decisions should they still decide to go ahead with it. People who know the risks with bitcoins are better prepared for any situation that arises and affects the price that they invested because they understand that these things happen. People who know the risk turn out to be better HODLers.
1502  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: January 31, 2023, 02:23:08 PM
Get rid of addictions/habits: addictions or habits (in mild cases) are harmful not only for your health, but also for your finances. Cigarettes and alcohol are responsible for consuming a large portion of the income from individuals living on minimum wage. It's not that unsual to find people spending at least 1$ on cigarettes daily, what after 1 month will result in 30$ expenses, which could be going into bitcoin investment, for an example.
Addictions go past cigarettes and alcohol, there are many other habits that can put a hole in your purse and not all are dangerous to Health, there is also gambling, womanizing etc. Keep a strict budget that still has accommodation for the things you like and try to stick to it, to help put it under control.

Shopping on physical stores is more expensive than shopping online.
Are you for real? maybe this is applicable in your locale, but in my location, It is easier and most times cheaper by some amount when you buy most items from a physical store. Some online vendors have charges plus you also have to consider delivery charges that you must include for your order unless there is a free delivery offer.

1503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: am now a bitcoin investor(first purchase) on: January 31, 2023, 01:46:58 PM
i now know that bitcoin isnt any investments where one can make millions overnight after investing which is normally the basic view most people in my place have towards bitcoin investment.
It is not impossible that someone can get richer overnight via investment in bitcoins. It is not just a common thing and something happens everyday so people are advised not to have that mindset when they are about to invest in bitcoins. Think about this, imagine someone who invested a huge amount amounting to the value of one bitcoin or more, If there is a very positive movement in the market just like after some hours after they invested, they will be richer. This is not something that can always happen and not to everyone because it is not everybody that has the money to invest heavily in bitcoins, and there is no way to exactly know when the price of bitcoins will jump positively to a new profit price.
1504  Economy / Speculation / Re: does the increasing number of altcoins have a negative impact on the price btc on: January 31, 2023, 01:15:58 PM
will the increasing number of altcoins affect the price of bitcoin,?
If anything is going to have an effect on the other, It will be Bitcoins the superior having an effect on altcoins and not altcoins having an effect on bitcoins. It is common knowledge in cryptocurrency that bitcoin leads and strongly has an effect on the prices of all other cryptocurrencies. Even if the number of altcoins are on the increase which is something that will always happen, it cannot affect the price of bitcoins negatively.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 30, 2023, 02:06:29 PM
... especially Moise Caseido is an important player who is being hunted by Arsenal and Chelsea. I think it's very reasonable for them to insist on raising the price of Moise Caseido at 80 million euros, if other clubs can't pay that price it's unlikely that Moise Caseido will be sold in this transfer market.
Chelsea are more interested in signing Enzo Fernandez from Benfica than Caicedo, unless they suddenly choose to hijack Arsenal's deal again if Enzo is not released to them. Arsenal are more Interested in Caicedo to add to our Midfield, and Arteta seems to want him before the transfer window closes since Elneny is out due to injury, Arsenal will make a third bid for him at a record fee to see if it will be sufficient to force Brighton to sell him to us.

Manchester United are on the move to get Youri Tielemans since Eriksen is out due to injury too, but I do not think they will be able to secure him as a replacement without other clubs battling them for it. Arsenal may look his way too if Caicedo deal hits a brick wall.
1506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can old people use bitcoin? on: January 30, 2023, 09:38:09 AM
If adoption comes around, will their be higher consumer congenial systems for old people to utilize crypto? What are your phrenic conceptions?
Adoption of bitcoins will not eliminate other means of payment for business automatically, and adoption of bitcoin does not also mean that everyone must begin using it immediately. When bitcoins become globally accepted, adoption will come on a personal scale for everyone. It will be accepted for use, but it will take people to personally adopt bitcoin as their preferred payment option.

The old people presently, assuming that its acceptance happen soon while they are still alive and we have not transitioned into an age where the old people have knowledge of technology, will have a choice and may not easily choose to start using bitcoins immediately, but still prefer the fiat they are used to. It will take a while for the old people to understand it and even decide to choose it for use.
1507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So far so good with Bitcoin adoption on my side but I have question on: January 30, 2023, 09:09:47 AM
Have I done the right thing by telling them to wait for some correction before buying or you famz have a better idea? Because right now I don't see anything thing better than to wait, double bottom is always possible with Bitcoin in bear markets.
You cannot expect everyone to buy at the price and enter the market at the same price you purchased your own bitcoins, and you should have let them buy it as their interest was high. I feel telling them to wait is not the best because waiting is dangerous, they can loose interest, or the money that they had and intended to use in buying bitcoins can enter into other expenses. To play the waiting game is dangerous.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 29, 2023, 12:04:10 PM
AC Milan will welcome Sassuolo as the opening match. Then followed by the Juventus vs Monza match.
AC Milan have the opportunity to overtake Inter again in the standings because Sassuolo who is their opponent who has never tasted victory in their last 5 matches.
Sassuolo are leading currently, the game started with Giroud scoring within the first ten minutes but had their goal cancelled for Offside. Sassuolo were quick to then score and double their lead. Thanks to Giroud again, AC Milan were able to reduce Sassuolo's lead to 1-2.

A few minutes later, from a corner kick, Sassuolo have been able to increase their lead back to 1-3, putting back the pressure on AC Milan who need to win this game importantly.

Just within thirty minutes, there have been many goals, It is an indication that this is a game with plenty goals and It is still even possible that AC Milan win this game at the end.
1509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What could make you start using a new crypto wallet today? on: January 29, 2023, 09:23:05 AM
Will you start trusting a new crypto wallet after it's been out for years or based on users reviews? Or it depends on what the wallet is offering, for example new crypto wallet that's fully open source but not popular because its new, is this a good reason enough to start using?
I trust reviews better and will not start using a new crypto wallet because of just what they offer. I have a habit of trusting the services of a service provider whose service I require, until they disappoint me, start having a series of bad reviews, or come across a better service provider with better reviews. If a new crypto wallet has a better review than the reviews of the wallet I use, I will put them under observation for consideration for use.
1510  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: PVC DISTRIBUTION, go collect your own for your local government on: January 29, 2023, 08:55:15 AM
The way I dey see am be like them go extend the deadline, because plenty people never collect and ending it tomorrow go defrancise some people which no go good, so them fit extend am by another one week, becos even the officials for the distribution centres no fast at all, coupled with this new naira notes wey bank done say make people go deposit for bank mist people go first leave PVC find way go bank go deposit there old naira notes so surely dem go extend the collection of pvc by at least one week.
The deadline has been extended.
Quote
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to February 5, 2023.
source

With this development, People have an extra week to get their PVC to vote the candidate of their choice. This is very impressive from INEC, choosing to extend the date because If they had not done so, many eligible voters would have been denied their rights to vote and that will be widely seen as a move by INEC to favor some candidates that know that they can only win by rigging the election.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 29, 2023, 08:40:57 AM
Gabriel Martinelli's role has been so important throughout Arsenal's journey this season and has often been the key to victory for the Gunners. Currently, his position as the main winger at Arsenal has not been replaced and Mikel Arteta fully believes in him.
Martinelli is a very important player for us, and it was very important that we renewed his contract with us. He has made a big contribution so far to the success that Arsenal has achieved this season, and even though we now have Trossard that can also play in that his role, they both offer different kinds of threats in that wing side to an defender.

When it comes to his progress in the Brazilian national team, it becomes quite difficult because there are many better winger options currently defending Brazil that make him shine a little less and it seems that he needs another 1 or 2 years so he can get a main place in the Brazilian national team.
Even in the world cup, the few times Martinelli played for Brazil, he was very impressive. With some more experience he will one day be a competition for Vinicius Jr who plays that same position, and is currently their first choice.
1512  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 28, 2023, 07:49:34 PM
The fundamental determinant for success is not the same for everyone. Some people became successful by luck, some purely by just real efforts and hard work. Also some of the people who were successful by luck also worked hard to an extent to be able to be prepared for luck when it comes. Some people did not work hard for success and are very privileged to maybe be born into it. It is different for everyone.

To become successful can be easier than staying successful which is more difficult and requires more than just luck but consistent effort as well. To remain successful, those who became successful simply by luck without any effort can have a harder time remaining successful. The one who had a bit of effort and luck can stay successful long after he was lucky because you cannot stay lucky or be lucky always and also because they already know how to put in the effort to sustain where luck has brought them to.
1513  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: January 28, 2023, 06:56:24 PM
If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?
Many people do not like the Jibs they do, but they do it still because they have plans. You can decide to quit, but you have to be ready to face the consequences of your actions. Your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, combined together, that is your passive income and your salary, you are actually be earning a good sum to set up yourself well before you can decide to quit the job since you do not like it. Do not just quit to depend on your side income, the pressure will be much since you just lost another source of income which is your salary Job, improve on your passive income, before considering quitting your job.
1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Approximately 384 Days until the next Bitcoin halving on: January 28, 2023, 04:39:27 PM
How many of you are eagerly waiting for the next halving?
384 days is over a year from now, can you really keep up the enthusiasm you have now and keep counting down to the next halving? If you can that will great, but otherwise, there is no need to sweat it, but just concentrate on whatever strategy you have for accumulating bitcoins. The halving is something that will surely happen, the knowledge of it should also contribute to your courage to HODL.
1515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who else have my kind of mindset for Bitcoin 2023 on: January 28, 2023, 03:59:04 PM
2023 is the year I found my confidence in bitcoin as I have not check the price of Bitcoin for the past 80 hours, since I am now fully into long term holding giving myself, a timeframe of 2-3 years before looking back on the price but what I will do is to accumulate more Bitcoin as chances present itself.

Who else have my kind of mindset let discussed welcome to the future Bitcoin holders!
It can be too early to judge, It may have been a peaceful 80 hours, there will be some days when the news about bitcoins will not be good and the price will be affected, the news will be everywhere, it will be difficult for you to avoid. The temptation to check the price of bitcoins and the amount you have in your wallet will be there.

It is not just about checking the price or not, you have to just discipline yourself that even if you check the price, you will be able to control yourself and defeat the urge to stop HODLing. That is a better mindset for the year for me.
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ ENGLISH FA CUP 2022/23 TOURNAMENT - Discussion Thread on: January 27, 2023, 10:15:53 PM
The only FA Cup game taking place this evening:

Manchester City vs Arsenal

At the time of writing the post, Manchester City are winning 1-0 with a goal from Ake after 64 minutes. This is the first game in the 4th round of the competition. The following 4th round games take place over the weekend.
Although Manchester city won at the end of the day, they did not quite impress and dominate the game like they usually do. It was a fairly balanced game that I feel that Arsenal could have won had Arteta started with our regular first Eleven players and not removing Thomas Party for Sambi Lokonga, and starting Odegaard. The moment Thomas Partey went off, I feel Manchester United got an edge in midfield. Arsenal was able to contain De Bruyne and Halaand, and that is something good in preparation for when we play Manchester city in the premier league.

Congratulations Manchester city, the can win the FA cup this season, since Arsenal are looking fully focused on winning the EPL.
1517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 27, 2023, 08:08:28 PM
The line-up for both teams are available for us to see.
Our first test against Manchester City, I see a lot of team changes, with Trossard starting ahead of Martinelli, Ramsdale resting and Turner starting, Odegaard rested, Saliba rested. I like what Arteta has done starting with a line up that is not our usual starting eleven, but I hope that it doesn't limit our chances. Pep starting with a very good team as well.

Arsenal has already made a very good attempt with a very solid and direct shot from Tomiyasu after good work done from Trossard. A win in this game for Arsenal will give us confidence when we play them again in the premier league in a few weeks.
1518  Economy / Economics / Re: A beautiful place assures excellence in business and personal life. on: January 27, 2023, 02:10:02 PM
I have no doubt about the subject matter that a beautiful place assures excellence in business and personal life, because,  I have seen in this life time how ones environment and conditions of living can be a motivation to do better or do worse.
Environment has a great influence in shaping someone's mindset and setting them on a track to do better. People who grow up in very good environments, actually have more exposure which is something important. A beautiful place can influence positivity and excellence, but it does not assure excellence IMO. Just because a place is beautiful gives no assurance of success, success in business and personal life is the final outcome of many inputs and not just a beautiful place.
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current Topic: African Nations championship on: January 27, 2023, 07:01:34 AM
this competition in the past was called internal AFCON, today they changed the name to CHAN and to have a difference with AFCON, in AFCON the teams from all African countries can bring all their players, both those who play in the local teams and the players who play in the foreign teams, while for Chan teams cannot bring players who are playing abroad. i am explaining this because i saw comments from some members shocked by some big team results

the performance of teams in chan will be completely different from the performance of the same team playing outside chan. but the biggest advantage of chan is that it can give the players that are in the teams of each African country a space to show their talent and with that some big club can hire him

that was a good form of publicity
Thanks for taking time to explain this because I personally wondered why an African competition was ongoing and some of big name players playing abroad never returned for it.

It can be expected that due to some major players not playing, we will see unexpected results.

The competition is a great opportunity for home based players to show that they deserve a place in the National team and to show case their talent to scouts from other Leagues.

Algeria and Ivory Coast to play today.
Senegal and Mauritania to play too.

I will not be surprised if Mauritania beat Senegal.

1520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 27, 2023, 06:31:13 AM
You are right An Nassr brought Ronaldo to the club at a huge cost not to create miracles and help the club to be able to win matches in the league but rather to bring in money through broadcasts because Ronaldo's fan base is very large and it can bring other things to Arab football, just because he is famous for his sharpness, goals from him will always be eagerly awaited.
Ronaldo is one of the most influential people in the world, he will be in top ten if everyone in the world is asked to mention names of footballers that they know, that's how popular he is. The Saudi Arabian league needed the attention and the media, Ronaldo has the attention of the Media, so getting Ronaldo means getting Media attention. In conclusion Ronaldo is serving the purpose which they got him for as the league now has the attention it wanted.

Al Ittihad has eliminated Al Nassr from the Saudi Super Cup with a 3-1 victory. A very disappointing result for Ronaldo, it would have been his chance to win his first Saudia Arabian trophy and set a new record, but his team just could not. Ending the contract of Aboubakar that carried the team before Ronaldo came is slowly showing to have been a bad decision. Unfortunately at this point in Ronaldo's career, you cannot always depend on him to score goals.
