681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I smell fear... on: September 29, 2023, 08:58:27 PM
I saw this on twitter as made by Robert Kiyosaki and I found the idea laughable. Unfortunately I couldn't get a direct link for the screenshot so am using the information at the top of the image as my source..

Kiyosaki may have said this, or something related this and the media may be quoting him out of proportion. If he actually said this, you do not need to believe or follow what he has said at this stage of knowledge that you possess. You should be convinced as to why you are investing and hodling bitcoins.
682  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: September 29, 2023, 03:13:39 PM
Since I know cryptocurrency my biggest fear is to lost all my capital or large amounts in trading or investment, because of the fear in me I don't do things that I'm not sure of or things I don't know. My fear to lose have always been a motivation or a reason for me to know things concerning cryptocurrency,  I fear to start trading when I'm of myself that I know nothing to trade , fear to start investment when I know that I don't have a source of income.
Fear can be a good motivation to do or start something the right way, but fear which can be good, can also be very bad. Fear can limit you and make you set mental barriers for yourself. Fear can get you feeling the need to play it too safe which is not too good because in playing it too safe, never pushing yourself because of fear, you will remain the way you are. Fear can be cautioning to you when you think of trading bitcoins, but do not let the fear make you never consider getting knowledge about trading to start it or even trying to start investing in bitcoins.
683  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: September 29, 2023, 11:58:49 AM
Trading is most times profitable and sometimes challenging to traders, but it can ruin you just as gambling if you don't know how before venturing into it,  I have had a handful of terrible experience while trading and I discovered that it can return you to square one in terms of your finances if precautions is not taken.
No matter how much this is said and re-said, some people will still like to have their own experience. They will never take your word for it and have the believe that you are only saying so because you were not lucky enough when you started trading. This is the same thing as when you explain to someone who has never gambled that you barely win your bets, some look at you, and the thought that runs through the head of some of them is that, if it were them, they could never be that unlucky, so some people interested in trading and new to it never really take the warning of being sure before they start live trading with money as important, because some believe that they are lucky enough to not start loosing when they start trading.

Luck has little to do with trading when compared to the required skills. You cannot be too lucky to start trading without skills and make profit from just luck alone, the skill is the first essential ingredient.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: September 29, 2023, 11:28:54 AM
The outcome of the majority of casino games is mostly controlled by luck rather than ability. Examples that are often used include craps, roulette, and slot machines. Players wager on numerous outcomes in these games, and the casino has an inherent advantage that ensures they will profit in the long term.
Casino gaming is a popular source of entertainment. Instead of looking at it as a means of making money, players should approach it with the intention of having fun.
All casino games are for entertainment purpose, be it the one based on skills, or the one based on luck. It is entertaining to some people to just try out their skills, while some people see that as stress and will just rather play with luck in luck based games to win. Majority of games are based on chance/luck, but there are some specifics that without knowledge or special skills in playing them, luck will never work even if you have an abundance of it.

Identify the games, choose which is more entertaining to you between trying out your skill or just playing with luck. If for example trying out your luck in a luck based casino game will be more entertaining to you, but you decide to play a skilled based game, you will loose, and not be entertained in the process.

Does anyone have status on the following players for this matchweek:

Isak
Saka
Maddison

Thank you.
Isak - Newcastle United face their most important match of the CL group against PSG next week, and Isak will likely lead the attack, thus he will likely play less or no minutes this weekend to cool off. Wilson will get things started.

Saka- He was sighted at the gym today; his injury does not appear to be serious, so he should get some playing time.
I have both Isak and Saka on my team. I am thinking of bringing in Alvarez as the replacement for Isak. He has not really given me points as I expected.

For Saka, I think that even if he gets to play this GW, it will just be some few minutes against Bournemouth, he will not start the game, and may come in as substitute if there is a need to influence the game in Arsenals favor. But if Arsenal is winning, Arteta will most likely rest him. I am not transferring him out, he does not stay injured for long, and can return to playing form once he returns.

For Jackson, I have replaced the brother with Awoniyi, I see Awoniyi as a player that will be able to do well and score goals in the next couple of games for Nottingham forest if he does not get injured.

Sent out Martinez for Sergio Reguilón, he is one of Manchester United's best defenders right now to me.

Ramsdale will most likely start this weekend, so I will keep him for a while longer.
686  Bitcoin / Mining / The effect of bitcoin halving on bitcoin mining. on: September 29, 2023, 07:24:36 AM
The mood of expectation that HODLers of bitcoin are in for the halving that is expected soon is not the same mood that miners are in for the simple reason that;

As the halving will increase profit in investment for hodlers, it will reduce the reward for mining for miners to half.

I imagine that every miner is also hodling bitcoins and will still benefit the other way from the halving. Am I wrong? Is there anyone amongst us who is strictly a miner that depends on the rewards from mining as income to sort expenses and is not hodling any?

How should miners prepare for the halving?

687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: September 28, 2023, 11:06:46 PM

It looks very nasty, and many players have been sent off for far less than that. Even with an appeal, Chelsea will still not get the red card to be rescinded.

Pochettino has to face reality, be pragmatic and select the best alternatives for Chelsea's visit to Craven Cottage. No Gusto, No Jackson, No Chilwell!

Chelsea are already in a bad position on the table in number 14. If they lose this game, they will find themselves closer to the bottom.

    • The earliest replies get more attention and earn more merit
They will because the early replies often set the tone for the discussion.

    • Some of the replies from pages 3 upwards are repetition of what others said in pages 1 and 2.
This is not always true, there are some topics where perspectives and opinions cannot be repeated because of how many perspectives and opinions a topic can have. The first page often contains nineteen replies to a topic after the OP's post, the second page will contain Twenty replies. After page one and two you would have had about thirty-nine replies of which not all will be proper perspectives and opinions. The response on the first and second page are not always the most reasonable or proper perspective/opinions.

    • I also understood that some of the quality contributors sometimes arrive late and their replies get buried easily
Different time zones, so many of us see the topics at different times.

As someone interested in a topic, Always try to read through the replies so you do not miss out on the best replies.
689  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade only Bitcoin on: September 28, 2023, 10:09:48 PM
Trading is a lifetime skill that is always beneficial if you know what you are doing, the biggest mistake of traders is trading alt that most times doesn't obey market structure,
when it comes to cryptocurrency, trade only Bitcoin.
Bitcoin doesn't just give you profit, it gives you security, it obeys market structure, for the past 2yrs I have been trading, I only have losess only when I trading Alt, price action trading I utilize will trading always gives me result when trading Bitcoin, but when it comes to Alt I really do feel as if am gambling, so my fellow traders, trade only Bitcoin, I don't know if anyone feel the same way?
The same way investing in many coins can be dangerous, and not as profitable as investing in just bitcoins, trading many and random cryptocurrency is not still the proper way to trade cryptocurrency, and may not also be as profitable as when you as a trader decide to focus on trading majorly bitcoins. Smart traders know that trading bitcoin is the best choice, but they sometimes trade other cryptocurrencies because they can, and they make profit from it. You will not be a smart trader to know that you can trade other cryptocurrency and make profit from it, but decide to just limit yourself to bitcoins alone. Sincerely trade according to your expertise. If you know you can do it, go for it! If you still have doubts, then play it safe and focus mainly on bitcoins.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Youth Gambling on: September 28, 2023, 09:36:20 PM
Among young people is a result of the availability of gambling alternatives, such as sports betting and online gambling. Gambling disorders can have long-term effects on a person's ability to complete their education and choose their future, and young individuals may be particularly susceptible to acquiring these illnesses
If you have youths under your guidance, educate them about gambling, tell them why it is important that they do not secretly start gambling thinking they are doing well for themselves, because addiction to gambling at a young age when they are not yet financially independent can make them engage themselves in many unnecessary and sometimes illegal activity to make sure that they can get money that they can use in gambling. If you also understand the kind of environment where you stay and see that there is a high rate of gambling amongst the youths, try to make the youths under your guidance know that they can enjoy sports and even games without the need to gamble.
691  Other / Meta / Re: is Politics and Society board turning into a lowkey Off-topic board? on: September 28, 2023, 08:44:41 AM
Sometimes I come across posts that to me look like they are best suited for Off-topic board rather than Politics and Society board. It gets a little confusing and there seems to be low or no Mod activity there. The Mod assigned for that board has been offline for ages.
Some people who post in that board don't really understand what discussions regarding society should be, so they make off topic discussions in disguise of making topics about the society.

Best action is to report those topics and keep reporting any such topic created on that board.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 28, 2023, 07:21:58 AM
How would a kid ignore those things, they might just come and ask you about what is it. Till when can we lie to them? Don't you think that the frequency of such ads must be less in order to let the kids not get trapped into gambling and don't do it at such a small age?
The ads are everywhere and are difficult to control, If you tell them lies for the one you all see on TV, you will not always be with them on their mobile phones, and as they walk the streets. There is no need to tell lies to your kids because they will later find out the truth and may become disappointed in you.

Tell them the truth and let them understand why at their age, they should not consider starting gambling because of how prone to addiction they are, and how addiction to gambling at an early stage in their life can ruin their lives. Some kids understand better than we think, we sometimes just complicate things with thinking they cannot understand because of their age.

I transferred Alvarez in Nunez's place by thinking that he would score goal(s) against Nottingham Forest last week. However this transfer caused me to lose very valuable points for me.
Alvarez is still a very good choice for the next GW where Manchester City will play Wolves. Alvarez for me is one of the players who I think will score in that game. So still expect points from him.

There is cancer in the club, and the moment you put on that blue shirt, you are affected.
I agree with this, João Félix is a good example, see him flourishing now, Cole Palmer looking like another, because he was very good for Manchester City in the few games he played, or maybe he has not yet settled down into the club.
694  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: September 27, 2023, 05:04:49 PM
Most people who go for more degrees believe they can get better job at the end of the day. People that only go for more degrees in a stare with high unemployment rate are they doing right thing by putting all their focus on academic because this is the only thing they can do best.
There are always jobs for people with special skills, and the higher your educational qualification in a specific career, the better your chances at getting a job even with the high unemployment rate. The high unemployment rate only affects people are at the bottom and have the most basic educational qualifications.

Higher educational qualifications will improve the opportunities that you will be eligible for.

Special/high-end skills will improve your opportunities as much as high educational qualifications will.
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: September 27, 2023, 03:29:50 PM
Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end. Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
There are more countries where bitcoins have no status or an illegal status than a legal status, and from many of those countries, there are still forum users from there. Smart investors do not care about the opinion of the government on bitcoins because they know the merits. There are ways to keep your activities of having bitcoins secret from the government and avoid punishments. Many people have already opted for that option than choosing not to invest in bitcoins because they understand the regrets that will follow for choosing to follow the government whose decision is sourced from biased opinions.

697  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the benefits of combining fundamental and technical analysis? on: September 26, 2023, 08:26:01 PM
    1. Comprehensive Vision
This is the best reason because a combination of both analysis will make decision making concerning a trade to place much easier and can increase accuracy but It can also make analysis more difficult, and things more confusing which can lead to poor trading result.
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: September 26, 2023, 04:00:21 PM
Welp! Great week I thought, getting 80 points (my highest so far).
My best week too so far with my highest getting 92 points. I know I will be better next GW.

    Trippier...
He earned me my second highest points for the week very unexpectedly with his hattrick assist behind Saka who is now a doubt for Arsenal due to injuries. It look's like he is the next to be added to Arsenal's list of injury that is growing, Thomas Partey, Martinelli, Trossard, Rice and now Saka.

Saka is on many many people's team, will you transfer him out?
699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: September 26, 2023, 03:22:19 PM
Let's settle this! Based on your experience which game is more likely to bring a big win - slots, table games or crypto games?
The game more likely to bring you a big win is the game you are more conversant with and know how to play best. It will not do you any good if you keep trying out every game when gambling, choose a niche and become a master of it. With that approach, your chances of winning improves.

If you are used to slots, play slots.
If you are used to table games in brick and mortar casinos, play them! or look for these games on online casinos where they are featured and play them.
700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges have to learn and improve on their security on: September 26, 2023, 03:04:12 PM
    ~
You are always advised not to store your bitcoins on exchanges. As a step to ensure your personal security cold wallets are recommended for use because they are not connected to the internet and operate offline.

You should never fully trust exchanges no matter how big their name is because since almost everything is hackable, you will not know when hackers will decide to want to exploit security vulnerabilities that these exchanges are unable to detect on time or vulnerabilities that they choose to overlook.
