1501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst mistake in gambling on: October 14, 2017, 10:54:13 AM
My worst mistake is when I was playing with credit money in the hope of getting a big win and then getting my loan back, but I lost everything and then I had to give all the salary for loan repayment Angry
Playing with money cannot afford to lose is certainly the worst mistake and it becomes quite a hopeless situation if that was a borrowed money, then one would have lost twice as much as he/she would have to face the agony of generating same amount all over again, only to hand it over as pay back for the loan. Taking a loan for gambling is not recommendable at all, because it is sure to make a player tensed up with fear and mistakes would then follow!
1502  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Patience and Holding on: October 14, 2017, 10:34:52 AM
There is nothing bad or wrong in it if you are learning from it. Yes, I believe that patience plays a vital role to counter the side effects of panic selling. I have a friend who bought few Bitcoins before the fork when it was down and still he was in about 20% loss but he decided to hold it for some time and soon after the fork, he earned more than 50% profit on his same investment whereas people were selling at that time but he kept patience and held tight his investment.
That clearly demonstrates the virtue of patience when it comes to everything investing, without which your friend would have ended in a loss of 20% or more. Something else worthy of note, is that some periods and price levels may not be quite ideal for buying and Hodling, especially for those who cannot muster the courage to patiently wait for a recovery after a downturn.

I am a 20 years old college student and recently learned about bitcoin and I find it fascinating! I would like to get some of it because people say that soon it will be worth a LOT!
Nice to know you're quite fascinated with Bitcoin and interestingly you are in college, so learning a thing especially one you are passionate about, comes easier. It's my guess no one ever told you, over here you can earn far more Bitcoin while still having all your cloths on and not having to beam your supposed most cherish treasures across the globe, when you can as well make much more with your head high!

If your ultimate drive is to be able to make some coins, this is the way to take:

1504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 13, 2017, 04:19:06 PM
And If governments the world over – more importantly the big economies – continue to be restrictive to the use of cryptos, what effects would that have on the industry in future?
When the price of oil was beginning to get out of hand and almost a threat to normal life, money starting going into alternative enegry and today, a barrel of oil is going for less than $50. When people want something desperately, they usually have it because number is strength. Bitcoin has got a very strong community, any country that dares to take them for granted, does so to their own peril.
1505  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you expect a crash soon ? Or you see bitcoin keep climbing ? on: October 13, 2017, 01:05:49 PM
I expect profit taking any time from now to $5700 max. Important for $5000 to hold.

Plausible. I'm pretty sure that there were some that are already contented for profit taking at $5,700 it's better to take some and don't be too greedy at all. Wait for the dips and then you are good to go, there will be the time that the price of bitcoin will be on a correction I guess it will happen 2-5 days before the hard fork this month and it can pump again next month. I'm expecting for a crash yet I'm expecting more with another pump soon.
Yes it is, We might know bitcoin will suddenly crash. but I think it just for only few days, so now much better to take some of your bitcoin for your necessary intention. You still hold your remaining btc because we noticed the value of bitcoin currency is really more in pumping compare in the previous which is a good news for us.
Crashing and selling for profit taking are actually two different things! I must say that at this stage and exposure of Bitcoin, we should no longer be harping on crash and dump, because those no longer hold sway with Bitcoin. It is normal though to experience  drops in price from time to time, but that entirely market dynamics and Bitcoin happens to have a very healthy one.

Having crossed the $5000 price level and the November hard fork a little bit ahead, I expect Bitcoin to climb a little bit higher and then pull back to await how the hard fork turns out.
1506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now That We're Above $5000, how long until we hit $10,000 BTC on: October 13, 2017, 10:31:48 AM
With Bitcoin basically making Dimon shut his mouth and his own company helping to make him look like even more of a Jack*ss, plus the hardfork that's coming, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw $10,000 bitcoin by the first of November
That would be possible by the end of this year or maybe early 2018 especially if the next hardfork that will happen in November, will be successful that will again  make the market value of bitcoin to go skyrocket like the previous one. Backdrops before November are expected since the fork is getting near, the best thing to do is to hold because surely, after the fork ,it will again increase and be more expensive.
Do you realize what it means for the next hard fork to be successful?

If a breakaway becomes successful, the remnant is then doomed, because the breakaway would have sapped it dry. The last hard fork that produced  Bitcoin Cash couldn't achieve what they had intended and Bitcoin remained stronger. If it were otherwise, we sure won't be talking of $5000 per Bitcoin today! By the way the journey to $5000 price level was so long coming, because of Bitcoin internal enemies, $10000 would be no different unless the current bullish pressure does so before the November hard fork.
1507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: October 13, 2017, 03:32:31 AM
Hell yeah! Thanks to bitcoin, those unemployed will now be productive and may well even be earning much more than good income. All they have to have is an internet link and then they are prepared to go. Slowly and slowly and gradually they will be earning. And before long sufficient who knows they might be ready to do some investing and make some more.
It all goes to highlight the level of unemployment and deprivation the conventional money system have saddled on people and Bitcoin actually came as a rescue, opening up job opportunities even in seemingly saturated area. If Bitcoin can effectuate so much changes in employment and productivity in it's infancy, imagine what it would be like by the time it's fully matured! I seriously think that Satoshi is deserving of a Nobel Prize!
1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: October 13, 2017, 03:06:05 AM
I usually keep a bit of bitcoin for fun. Currently my main job is to work in the company, I have not really seriously invested in bitcoin
That's understandable for now! Before long and after you're seasoned here, you would know better! Right now Bitcoin is the most valuable currency in the globe, even some corporate institutions in Wall Street are finding it a bitter pill to swallow that something this grand did not start with them. I don't see anyone taking Bitcoin for fun, if not, what would they ever take serious?
1509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious topic: how can we be sure Bitcoin will not be banned by most countries? on: October 13, 2017, 02:40:57 AM
You can't really be sure that Bitcoin won't be banned... but the thing that makes Bitcoin "Bitcoin" is that it is peer to peer... meaning that you don't have to worry about governments "banning" it.

Say if they shut down coinbase, xapo, etc; you will still have comfort in making trades with other Bitcoiners in a peer to peer fashion... either through places like localbitcoins or bisq.io
Basically, it is the same thing as saying that, talks of banning Bitcoin, are barking toothless dogs, because the implementation have been proving the few that experimented with banning Bitcoin wrong. In effect, Bitcoin cannot be banned, they would have already done so if it were possible. Many more countries are going to have to accept Bitcoin and then try to legalize it, that is the best option open for them.

1511  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex manipulation? on: October 12, 2017, 11:32:56 AM
It's just the way that the markets work, often if one alt-coin is being dumped then a whole bunch are. People want to hold bitcoin right now so they're dumping alts.
Bitcoin have breached the $5000 price level, though it has been long coming, but the message is that Bitcoin is experiencing a strong buying pressure lately and since most of the stable altcoins  are down by over 10%, it can only mean that altcoins are being dumped in favor of Bitcoin. I think it is a strong reminder that everything cryptocurrency, still revolves around Bitcoin.

1513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious topic: how can we be sure Bitcoin will not be banned by most countries? on: October 11, 2017, 10:54:44 PM
when some countries ban bitcoins, some other countries will accept it to have the hot money in, unless all the countries come to an accord, that's impossible.
A number of countries already tried to ban Bitcoin, but soon reality dawned on them that banning something that is free and decentralized is not all said and done and those that have already experimented with such possibility now know that it's Bitcoin's time and so attempts to point people the other way backfired - much more people are now curious about Bitcoin
1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2017, 10:27:02 PM

It's not that they hate it but they see it as a threat of their people using it and not paying taxes, China absolutely wants their cut if money is coming and go from anywhere.
Much as all governments are very keen when it comes to collection of tax, I however do not think it is a major reason for China's hardliner stance for Bitcoin and entire cryptocurrencies. It is worth noting that use of Bitcoin does not translate to tax holiday, because every now and then, conversion to physical money is made and at that point, tax evasion is out of the question. China's concern is that Yuan, is going to be worst off if Bitcoin is given a free hand.
1515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 10, 2017, 08:07:38 PM
Maybe China doesn't hate Bitcoin, but as we all read above, that they all think that BTC is traceable
So I think this is the main cause for hating it or not allowing in china  Huh
It shouldn't be an issue that China sees Bitcoin transactions as traceable, because that in actuality, is one of the things they long for as it would always lead them to who spent what. However the full control is what China earnestly craves, but Bitcoin by nature won't let them have it and that has been their nightmare,
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is more risky. Sport or casino bets ? on: October 10, 2017, 07:04:36 PM
Both are risky sport and casino bets because all the time there is a risk involved in these two there is a chance of win and there is also a chance of lose. if we  are risk taking lovers then it’s good for us to make a bet in casino.

i think is the same risky in the world of gamble your money are in the risk if they are not control yourself at any gambling games your money have a possibility to losse playing in gambling.
You guys might want to refresh your minds that virtually everything we do in life has an element of risk, though some actually turn out riskier and it isn't just about casinos or gambling. The next food item your take, actually puts you at risk of food poisoning - that is you 're in effect gambling. A win, mean the food gets to nourish you, a lose means, a doctor would come calling. Perhaps, we should stay away from eating because we might get poisoned, what do you guys think? Isn't the knowledge and understanding of how to prepare and handle food items a sure way to mitigate the risk of getting poisoned?

And probably bitstarz representative will not help you here too as his/her account is inactive since August https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=307265

This all proves they are shady casino and we should avoid playing there. However I always try to opt out any bonuses casino will offer to not get stucked with lots of hidden bonus terms like this one.
If op did able to read up those links for sure he would really have a doubt on playing. This is why i dont really trust any loyalty bonus or whatsoever because once you would able to make big money they would already make excuses. If bitstraz representative isnt active since august then probably they are avoiding such issues on the site which is really a big flag for me.
Those deposit bonuses to the best of my knowledge are traps, purposely set with hopes players would have been caught long before they meet the disagreeable conditions and that cuts across all the casinos fronting this or that deposit bonuses. It is best to ignore those bonuses, that's how to avoid their noose!
1518  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trade or Hodling on: October 10, 2017, 05:22:47 PM
Indeed! Day trading is generally related to altcoins, all those coins that are just starting their journey in the crypto market.
I don't think your generalization holds water, what determines what coin to Hodl is their stability overtime and future projection. Presently I am Hodling Dogecoin (21 Satoshi today) rest assured that I shall be selling them at 100 Satoshi or more in the not too distant future!

Quote
Day trading is very much hectic and people definitely don’t like much getting into day trading.
Yes day trading may seem like Latin to an English man because he actually knows next to nothing what it is all about!

Quote
But still if your coin fluctuates a lot in prices, you are eligible for day trading but coin like bitcoin generates best results when held for long time.
Bitcoin happens to be one of the most volatile currencies, so easy to be down or up by over 500 USD within 24 hours. Then reason people nonetheless Hodl it, is because of the very strong community bias and projection that Bitcoin is headed for the moon, of which it has corroborated time and again by its resilience in bouncing back every time it ran into a storm.
1519  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice's 3rd Profit Competition! Win up to 0.20 BTC! 🔶 on: October 10, 2017, 02:40:27 PM
We try to run different kinds of competitions.  So far we've done Wagering, Profit, and Number Hunt competitions, each several times.  We have another one in the works but we're still figuring out the logistics of it, and it probably won't be revealed for some time; either before LTC integration, or afterwards.

As for DiceLoser, I'm fairly certain it's one player making multiple accounts.  But, I'm not an Admin, so I can't verify that.  I just thought I remember saying he had lots of accounts to run DiceBot on.
The three competitions are indeed unique and well thought out, with the Profit and Number Hunt competitions more or less creating level playground for all players as against the highest bidder take-it-all, the Wagering competition is inadvertently all about.

I was with the impression that a maximum of 2 accounts are allowed per player, but looks like that is in error?
1520  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex manipulation? on: October 10, 2017, 02:14:17 PM
Nobody is manipulating Bittrex dude. It happens whenever multiple users dump their coins together. It is a known fact that altcoins will be dumped since the fork is near and people are selling their altcoins in losses to acquire the free Bitcoin gold. It happened during the last fork too when altcoins were dumped to acquire free BCH. So nobody is manipulating Bittrex, its just the people who are dumping their altcoins.

Allow me to quote the article for you:

"Argument: People are moving alts to BTC

This is mainly false. Though it is true, it didn’t happen at the scale that matches with the volumes moved from alts to BTC across any other exchange. This wasn’t a market-wide movement like we saw with BIP91 activity between June and July."
I think it does not rest entirely on volume movement to bring about such market-wide dips. If you take into perspective the fact that all altcoins go at certain rates of Bitcoin, then a fast increasing Bitcoin is sure to drag all down and at once - everything being computerized to forestall huge arbitrage opportunities.
