I don't know what you mean apart from the trolls/fud. They killed any momentum this project ever had last year, and there is no recovering from that. Anyone who is pretending to be concerned about this project "now" is pretty condescending to me as far as I'm concerned. I am very much done with this project, because of the toxic culture that was dominating crypto last year. Anything associated with that year is tarnished because of them, and is unrecoverable. This is a result of people taking the word of trolls as gospel. I have no interest in basically volunteering "my" time for ungrateful and hateful people. There is nothing but vitriol here, and part of the reason we tried to move away from here in the first place. We had a forum that no one contacted us on or used. Now people are saying they "believe in the project"...? Yeah...No... The GUI is not important enough for us to be worried about yet. I'd say we want to get the software as bulletproof as possible now, first. Worry about a gui later. If not having a gui means less attention it is better for now. We want to make sure when the attention comes we are ready. Everyone only cares about getting on mintpal. |

The closed source problem is no different than NXT a few short months ago.
Keep it closed source for as long as you like, dev. Retain the first mover advantage. Release when good and ready. No hurry.  I've also seen posts by multiple devs of coins wanting to add masternodes to their own coin. So they should do it, right? I'm not on here slamming Darkcoin, I just state my beliefs. Too many people are buying into hype from a few loud large holders of Darkcoin who are only here for the money. Don't be fooled by them. They are selling while at the same time calling people weak hands. They have done a good job with their propaganda. Like I said early. Darkcoin is good coin to make profit if do it right. Beyond that, it never will be a widely adopted currency. Neither will 99% of any of altcoins. Bitcoin is the only one that will widely adopted. I just bought laptop on Overstock.com, you can pay Dish Network bill in bitcoin, PayPal/Ebay is likely start accepting bitcoin near future. That will never happen Darkcoin. Bitcoin is the first and everything else will just fight each other over some niche market. DRK is based off similar code to bitcoin, if there is ever a privacy backlash against bitcoin, DRK will be easy to implement. Or it can simply be slotted in next to Bitcoin at any point, again because of similar code. Might take a little work and effort, but still easier than completely different source code. I've sat in the fucking boring implementation, cost vs. benefit, lets do the less risky options meetings....I know how the discussions work. Cryptonote hasn't got a fucking chance of going into merchant acceptance, even if it might have some reasonably good tech. I've been leaving trails for years. I use credit cards to book flights,hotel room, rental cars, etc... None of those types of vendors will ever accept Darkcoin so stop using that as a selling point. Darkcoin will never be mainstream so you will never be able to use it to hide a majority of your transaction. The same is true for cryptonote coins. Anyone that believes they will ever be able to use Darkcoin or any Anonymous coin to hide anything other than shady transactions is naive. Yet there are people in this thread that seem think they will be able to hide what they spend their money on using Darkcoin. You can't spend if nobody accepts. |
