His play is not effective in international tournament anymore.

As most basketball enthusiast says, Coach Chot's system is only effective in PBA and not in the international league anymore.

Defeating KSA last night won't change the fact that we are struggling in top countries.

Being defeated by Indonesia in the South East Asian Games is already a big reason and enough for Coach Chot to consider stepping down even if SBP will ask him to continue his job as a head coach for Gilas. Enough of these learning experiences.
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 29, 2022, 11:40:48 PM
It's still too early to talk about the 4th fight, it all depends on the result of the third fight,

I think regardless of the result, I'm now assuming there won't be 4th rematch.

The reason is very simple, if GGG wins, he already even the series and that's a good moment to retire. If won't retire, he will just fight other boxers. On the other hand, if GGG loses, that's it. Canelo will not be interested anymore in the 4th rematch.

But yes, too early to talk about the 4th fight. The trilogy even gets years in the making before happening for real.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 29, 2022, 11:37:02 PM
The rematch will happen if they are after the money and grant the wish of the fans, regardless of who will win the fight, it's still interesting to see a rematch. I guess let's focus first of the possibility or a chance that this fight will become into reality, and we can talk about a rematch later.

The fight is being the wish of the fans for a long and this fight is likely will generate a big money but still, there are lots of hindrances to making this fight official. It means the possibility of a rematch will have the same status. Definitely, the winner of this fight will now finally move to 154 lbs because that was their respective goal. Crawford will move up if this fight won't materialize while Spence is willing to move up too even not having a fight with Crawford.

See the picture here? They don't bother with each other if this won't really happen.

Going back to the fight, this fight will happen by high chance based on the last article I posted here from a good and reliable source.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: August 29, 2022, 11:30:51 PM
And it's good that the judges are not going to be biased in this fight. As we can see in the Canelo vs Bivol fight, the judges wanted to make the score very close and if Canelo won in the last rounds then maybe Bivol will be robbed, hehehe. So I'm expecting the judges in a foreign country will be different and even if American judges are going to be pick, they will have to be fair here otherwise, other countries in the M.E. will not host a fight if they think this judges are influence by big promotions like Golden Boy or Top Rank.

I'm looking forward to that too. That is always the concern when dealing with a "cash cow". The other party should make a convincing win just for the judges not to influence the scorecard. If by far it will be close the entire match, something magical might happened in favor of the course of the cash cow lol.

I also don't consider a location for judges to be seen as fair as those judges will obviously come from different countries.

Not saying Ramirez won't stand a chance against Bibol but if let's say here will win here, there will be no question if he's really the clear winner of this fight.
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 29, 2022, 11:24:32 PM

Trading Russell Westbrook might be one of the ways to somehow improve the Lakers roster according to others. But from what I see, that problem last season can't be solved thru only trading Westbrook to either Donovan Mitchell or those names who are on the rumor list.

First, the injuries. No matter how good the core lineup is, it will be spoiled if injuries will again strike the Lakers like what happened last season.

Second, the bench. You can only name 1-2 players from the Lakers bench who are effective backups. But take note, those are not consistent.
1546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: August 29, 2022, 10:51:23 PM

I understand the concern of others here that people should not underestimate Paul Butler. Unfortunately, I can't apply that here in this fight for obvious reasons. Even Paul Butler will do a full preparation for this match, do you really think that Naoya Inoue won't be doing the same?

I believed in upset. I believed that underdog that can turn the tables around. I believed that Favorites isn't always the winner.

But let's be real here. Paul Butler even how good his preparation is, will not stand a chance against Inoue. He didn't get his title in a competitive way in the first place. He is just being considered because he has the belt and that's it.
1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 29, 2022, 10:44:01 PM
Chot Reyes was there in the game earlier. He was actually booed by the MOA Arena crowd when introduced. I think it was very crass to boo the coach, but it reflects how the fans feel about what is happening to Gilas. All these politics is not helping the team win internationally.
Not a fan of Chot Reyes but hearing the crowd booed him is quiet disappointed at all. This is an international competition and we should show some respect not just for our team but also to our opponent. Well, the disappointment is there but I think it’s too much. Well, this is how Pinoy wants to happen then so be it. It’s good that Gilas didn’t affect that much and they still focus on the game. I hope to see the same players in the next leg of this qualifiers, they have a good chemistry already, let’s hope for Clarkson again.

It might be disappointing and for some, it was disrespectful as a Filipino to have such an act during a live game but it should serve as a message to the whole SBP and to Coach Chot himself that something big needs to be done. Even players like Jordan Clarkson and Dwight Ramos are supporting Coach Chot Reyes, nothing will change the fact that there's a politics in SBP.

It should be more respectful if, after that "booing" incident, Coach Chot will step down and not stay there just because SBP asked him to do it. I'm not fully against Coach Chot but for the sake of supporting Gilas, stepping down will be more appreciated. But the way things are happening, that won't likely happen.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KYC on Gambling Business on: August 28, 2022, 11:35:30 PM
The rise of KYC in many casinos, even in well-known and reputable casinos, makes many gamblers feel that their playing time is almost over because those who previously did not need to do KYC are now forced to do KYC.

Can you lead us on what are these well-known and reputable casinos that are now forcing their users to do KYC?

Are you talking about crypto-casinos or fiat casinos? If the former, I'm not aware there is. If the latter, I'm sure that was normal that KYC is mandatory.

And will this trigger crypto-based casinos that use wallet logins to develop better because they don't need to register as usual and only need to connect their wallets to the casino? Or do they also need to do KYC? Or for this type of casino can still be "forced" to do KYC?

Are you referring to decentralized crypto-based casinos here, in general?

I think it's too early to discuss or not even worth spending our time to think that by now if they will also implement KYC here by force.

I can't think of any good reason why having forced KYC on these casino types should be asked to their users.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: August 28, 2022, 11:28:30 PM
By betting small amounts, at least we can have more time to play slots, and maybe that's the way that can give us pleasure by playing slots. We can also hope that playing small amounts can allow us to win even though the number of wins is not or can't win big.

Honestly, at most slots, a minimum bet of $0.1-$0.2 can yield a good return of course if we hit a good multiplier or we trigger a bonus game aside from free spins. Although we need luck to achieve that, still, it proves that profiting from slots can't always be obtained by betting only on big bets. Of course, more return if the stake is high but average gamblers, they can play slowly with small bets and hope for the best.

On that particular doing, it's better to keep playing in 1 slot, at least.
1550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: August 28, 2022, 11:18:59 PM
That's a huge amount of money. If you only invest in bitcoin, you can make huge profits when the bull market comes. That was a mistake and you have learned from that lesson so you have at least some experience with tokens in casinos. Maybe if you want to invest in casino tokens, you shouldn't take too much risk based on your experience because we don't know what will happen with the tokens. It's better if we invest in bitcoin which can clearly provide big profits in the future.

The comparison of investing in casino tokens or putting money on a gambling site's bankroll with investing in bitcoin seems not appropriate. I'm sure everyone knows that putting money in Bitcoin is a must. That user was able to spend $25,000 which makes me think he did some DYOR before taking the risks.

There's no mistake in putting money on gambling sites on their investment side. The mistake was, that the user didn't manage properly the investment on the way leading to that loss. Although he can't control the flow of the gambling site obviously, considering an exit is a wise way to minimize the possible losses and then move forward on other investments later on.
1551  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some Crazy Fun Facts About Casinos And Gambling You Might Not Know. on: August 28, 2022, 11:10:00 PM
1. The Founder Of FedEx Saved The Company By Gambling In Vegas.

Here's an inspiring story for aspiring gamblers and small business owners: the founder of FedEx saved his floundering company by gambling in Vegas, earning $27,000 in blackjack! The company only had $5,000 in its coffers when Frederick Smith decided to fly to Vegas in 1973 and risk it all. Though this isn't good investment or business advice in general, Smith's gamble paid off, allowing the company to last long enough to raise $11 million and eventually earn its first profits in 1976.

Should not be called an "inspiring story". Cheesy

Although I agree with you that isn't good investment advice, that's a suicide move. FedEx founder was really lucky while at the same time, skillful as playing Blackjack is not just about relying on luck. Not all will have the same experience in gambling.

I just wondered what if the event happened the other way around. Is there any Plan B on that founder's mind? Since he risks gambling, where the result is uncertain, that might be his last option to save the company.
1552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 28, 2022, 10:46:50 PM
Westbrook had his worst season in the last few years. It seems to me that one of the main reasons is that he didn't worry about losing the ball on the court. If you check his stats, you'll see that it was normal for him to make 6-7 turnovers or even 10 turnovers per game. So I'm not sure if Westbrook has any motivation to play better right now.

Out of curiosity, I try to have a look at it.  If we look at his turnover stats in his last 3 seasons:

Los Angeles Lakers - averaging 3.8 turnovers in 78 games
Washington Wizards - averaging 4.8 turnovers in 65 games
Houston Rockets - averaging 4.5 turnovers in 57 games

(I was surprised that he played as part of the starting lineup at all these games Shocked)

Almost around just a 1 turnover higher compared to his average on his whole career in OKC for 11 seasons. Also still far from the numbers you have mentioned although there's really at some point that he commits up to 10 turnovers in some of his games.

Is that really the problem we can look at Westbrook right now? Or there are other much more important concerns about him to be looked at instead?
1553  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: August 28, 2022, 10:23:33 PM

Quote
Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler have agreed to terms on an undisputed bantamweight championship fight Dec. 13 in Japan, sources told ESPN.

Inoue, a star boxer in Japan who is ESPN's No. 2 pound-for-pound boxer, will attempt to unify all four belts for the first time in his career (he holds the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.) The winner of the matchup -- Inoue will be heavily favored -- will be the first undisputed champion at 118 pounds in nearly 50 years.

The last goal for Japan's "The Monster" in the Bantamweight Division, to unify all four belts here.

A mismatch? An easy win for Inoue? Not even a big challenge for Inoue? Can't blame some people's view about the match as the distance between Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler is really that wide and long gap. I can't even think of a way how Butler can survive the wrath of Inoue.

No mentioned venue at the moment but it's in Japan. The first time Paul Butler will fight outside the United Kingdom. Almost all advantages are on Inoue.

1554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: August 26, 2022, 11:59:07 PM
I think it will be more entertaining to see if it's Zurdo vs Beterbiev fighting for an undisputed fight. But before that, I'd like to watch how would Bivol defend his belt here.

From my own point of view, either Dmitry Bivol or Zurdo Ramirez will be a good match for Beterbiev for the undisputed champion in the Light Heavyweight division and surely entertaining to watch. Both boxers have good credentials and lurking in this division for a long making them truly ripe to challenge Beterbiev.

But since there's politics as always in the business of boxing, I just wonder what if Bivol is able to defend his belt in this match.

Will Arum now finally open for a Beterbiev-Bivol fight?

It's not making sense not to have that fight between Beterbiev and Bivol push through when the latter is doing a winning streak defending his title.

Fortunately, yes, Bob Arum openly said that he's going to let Beterbiev have its chance to claim all 4 belts and fight whoever wins in the Bivol-Zurdo fight. I'm quite shocked about this news too because we know that Bob Arum doesn't grant this type of fight because he is protecting his boxer at all cost but maybe he realized that at this point Beterbiev needs to have his chance because he is already 37 years old.

Quote
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says he’ll give unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev to fight for the undisputed championship against the winner of the Dmitry Bivol vs. Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez fight.
Source

I see. Good to see that statement from the Top Rank Chief regardless of whether it's a doubtful statement or not.

Now the pre-requisites are, Bivol should defeat Ramirez, and either if there's a conflict or not with regards to promotion, it will be materialized no matter what. While on the other hand, Artur Beterbiev should successfully defend his mandatory fight against Anthony Yarde which was supposed to happen in October but got postponed by early next year.

Of course, if Ramirez won instead against Bivol, there will be a change of event.

27 points and 27 rebounds for Fajardo, how can you stop this big guy? They really did great job for this and almost dominating the game 3 but still kudos for TNT for giving a great fight as well.

I really don't mind and got surprised with his 27 points but for 27 rebounds, damn that was a spectacular big performance. It does mean that no one in the league right now that can dominate JuneMar Fajardo in terms of getting boards either on the offensive or defensive side. A considered GOAT in the PBA and future Hall of Famer, the Kraken is still making surprising good numbers even after his long hiatus in the league.

I agree with you that Kudos to TNT for always giving an intense game with the powerhouse SMB. But still, not until either of them gets a 4 win, the series is not finished yet. TNT should consider Game 4 as their Do-Or-Die game and feels the pressure to win.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 26, 2022, 11:47:45 PM
What I wish is for the kid Chet is to not let this become a mental problem. It's just an injury it will heal and he can still go back.
Lisfranc injury is said to take a year before it heals fully. That will mean we should not expect for him even if the OKC go far as post season.

Yes, he really should. Let the whole year be his comfort year to be fully prepared and healthy for next season.

Remember Joel Embiid, he was sidelined for 2 seasons after he was drafted by the Philadelphia Sixers. That's even worst since he might think he's already a burden to the team. That might affect his mentality too during that time to play hard once he gets back.

But now, looked at Embiid, showing monster performance every season. Chet should just take things easy and focus on his recovery.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are your favorite dealers ? on: August 26, 2022, 11:41:06 PM
Sometimes online live casino games are boring even when you win because the dealer is not good at all while other times you spend a real good time despite losing because the dealer is very entertaining and funny.
So do you have one (or more) favorite dealer at an online casino? What's his/her name? Which casino provider does he work for? What games does he manage? Why do you like him?

Just curious here, can you give some input/s on how to tell if the dealer is not good?

Isn't it not boring already when we are winning regardless of who the dealer is?

I've asked this maybe because I really don't mind if dealers are boring or not as long as I enjoyed the game and especially if I'm winning.
1558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Employers Screen Applicants for Problem Gambling Before Employment? on: August 25, 2022, 11:35:46 PM
Some employers do background checks. Which would return prior criminal cases related to a gambling addiction.

Beyond that there may not be a credible means of detecting gambling addiction. For all intents and purposes the background of a casual gambler and addict would look similar.

A push could be made for employers to do more background checks and deter hiring applicants with prior criminal history. But I think that trend is frowned upon.

Its unlikely that employers will implement routine background checks which would screen those with a past criminal history related to gambling addiction.

I think it's a hassle for employers to do background checks. I don't know how employment works in other countries but here, employers are asking their applicants to provide Police Clearances and NBI documents. That document is proof that the person is free from criminal records.

And yes, I agree with your last statement that it's really unlikely that companies will screen their applicants about anything related to gambling addiction even if that department is more of handling money. What they are looking is if that person is really capable to do the works.
1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 25, 2022, 11:31:03 PM
This is why there were some boxing fights that the audience felt they were cheated by the judges' scores.
Maybe it was owed to that criteria, "competitiveness", where audience is neglecting this factor.
And we may see this factor an important one, when the boxer wins via split decision or even by UD.
I believe, the boxers also knew those criteria. This is why some are playing safe inside the ring.

I understand the picture but if we look at the first match of GGG and Canelo - the latter got a 118-110 from one of the judges where the fight is seen as tight and close. Other judges gives a close score and the result ended up in a Split draw. That's why regardless of what the audiences felt, the result is obviously questionable. That 118-110 is considered a ridiculous score in a close match.

That's the reason why a rematch and a trilogy was being demanded by most boxing enthusiast.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 25, 2022, 10:31:22 PM
I don't think that Simmons can be a "shooting" guard, we all know that his one of his weak points, he can't shoot outside. He is more of a drive by player and assists man, so really a point guard. So now sure how they can space things up with Kyrie and Ben at the same time. Or it could be Irving and Simmons alternating as PG for the Nets, and then KD doing his thing and then Seth as tehir shooting guard. But we will have to see what kind of adjustment Nash will do with his 3 superstars that might overlap the position.

He needs to adjust. As I mentioned, looking at the Brooklyn Nets roster, there's already a good Point Guards there.

Although Shooting Guards technically means "outside shooter" doesn't literally mean they need to shoot outside lol. There's no need to follow that word exactly but rather the other role that SG does. SG can act as a duo with the PG when the latter is under hard defensive pressure by the opposing team. Obviously, he can still do assists even in an SG position.

Simmons just needs to do his usual way of getting points which is attacking the paint regardless of the assigned position.
