1561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I avoid and identify scams? on: July 15, 2023, 11:49:59 AM
Perhaps it is better to confine yourself to how to invest in good cryptos, so the currency may not be scam, but it is dead, as its value continues to decline for long periods without achieving a return from it.

Invest in Bitcoin until you have the technical background and the basics of technical analysis to know what may lead to a rise in the prices of altcoins, and then limit that your investment to short-term investment is driven by events. I can infer that XRP and PEPE, both of which attracted investors, for nothing but that their value increased in a short time and if you ask them about the reason for the investment, you will find them say i invest because the value may reach $ 100 or $ 10 which is a bad investment.

Identifying scam coins is not as important as Identifying good coins for investment, and definitely avoiding bad currencies for investment means that you will avoid scam one.
1562  Other / Meta / Re: Is there an API on bitcointalk? on: July 15, 2023, 11:24:55 AM
Where does the data owned by DdmrDdmr, LoyceV, and ninjastic.space come from? Is there an API from bitcointalk?

I don't know how LoyceV, and ninjaastic.space collect data but you can fetch topics/posts from pages like unread posts since last visit ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread
Then all you will do is analyze, collect and organize the data, whether using public.tableau.com or any personal tool.
You will only need to have the IP whitelisting done by admin due to high requests which may be blocked by Cloudflare

This code[1] is old, but it can explain the idea to you.

Some data like trust are weekly updated but it's a good opportunity to tell us how they do that or help who wants to learn how to make data analysis like that.

1563  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ALERT] BEWARE ABOUT PHISHING SITES on: July 15, 2023, 11:09:52 AM
For instance, there was a time I wanted to access my Coinmarketcap and type it I quickly clicked it without looking very well to know if actually is the original site, where I came to realized is when the site asked me to put my phrase keys to access the cmc, I was like I've never experienced this the used of cmc
I haven't heard of a scam link associated with CMC but generally why not make it easier for users, make the URL simple, easy to remember and creative like https://cryptowat.ch/ here the user will remember the domain name and sub-extension.

why are they requesting for me to put my keys for me to able to access platform. What I did was to carefully check the url I noticed it was fake and scam site one who just wanted to steal my fund, like you said it may not be that too long for people remember but google may easily pop it up for people to mistakenly click it.
I hope that their new A.I. service will enhance the quality of results and reduce phishing links, but the situation is bad, especially the ads that appear before the search results. In addition to competition from Bing and Microsoft will make Google less greedy and more careful.
1564  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Idmining.com is hellish scammer on: July 15, 2023, 10:55:53 AM
Their OKX account is most likely not tied with their identity but perhaps you'll be able to freeze (not necessarily recover) some of their coins specially since it does seem like it is actively being used. That is, if OKX cooperates, so yeah, reach out to them.
OKX began to freeze accounts and set a limit for withdrawals of about $1,000 from the date of creation of the account. Therefore, if there are on-going transactions at that address, they are locked until scammer complete KYC L2.
There is a good chance of getting your money back if you submit an application to OKX with details of what happened and some police or legal data attached.

I'm really sorry for your loss OP! But I can't understand how can, you guys, invest such huge amounts so easily without doing a proper research.
They scammed you for 28k the first time, I can understand that. But didn't you think that something was not right when they asked you to invest another 28k and buy a second contract! Are there anything on their terms saying that you have to do so in order to withdraw your money! I don't think so.

Unfortunately, they are good at marketing, and these links appear first in Google searches, along with some paid articles.
1565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which will be best non-KYC exchanger after Ku-coin? on: July 15, 2023, 10:17:58 AM
The 5 BTC daily limit is pretty much enough, especially for an exchange where one is only supposed to go trade and withdraw their profit; this is not where to store BTC because you might be required to send out huge amounts every single day. For a personal trading account, I think a 5 BTC daily withdrawal is more than enough.
was used OKX so will give it a try as an alt CEX.

Well, it's just been a style I've copied from a few members here. I really admire how it looks sitting below, and I don't think it is causing any harm as it can be quickly ignored after reading a few important things I have written. Undecided
I find it annoying, it is true that it may not be against BTT rules, but some may put you in their ignore list >> less chances to see your posts >> less chances to get merits. This is my personal opinion and others may not agree with it. Perhaps it is better to create a topic, quote the text above, ask about it and see the community opinions.

Is this possible or even encouraged on this forum, where more than one person can operate one account? I know there are business accounts here, but I don't know if they are being managed by more than one person. I'm just asking for clarity.
AFAIK, there is no rule prohibiting the use of more than one user per account even if account banned, ban will apply per person not account because i remember this account of @atriz[1] (was a famous campaign manager) was banned and then it was discovered that he had purchased the account and the account restored[2]. But this is a good question that may not have been asked by anyone before. Cheesy

1566  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ALERT] BEWARE ABOUT PHISHING SITES on: July 15, 2023, 09:56:51 AM

Who will remember for you a link with the name arkhamintelligence.com? URL links were invented because of the difficulty of remembering IP addresses, but your choice of a long and difficult-to-remember domain will force the user to bookmark or save the link instead of remembering it, which is a bad impression and helps the link links. It's easier for them to choose short links like arkint.com than to type the full name.

1567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina Launches it's First Bitcoin Futures Contract, Brazil To Follow.. on: July 14, 2023, 11:42:38 AM

Why did Brazil took too long to do what Argentina did? Is it because they're a member of BRICS and somehow China is influencing them?
Argentina has nothing to do with that, and futures trading is not as strict as it is to adopt Bitcoin as legal currency.
Nor is the adoption of Bitcoin as critical as governments rush to say why Argentina did it and not Brazil or vice versa.

Again, the wording of this topic makes the news a bit misleading as it is better if @OP add an English source.
1568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which will be best non-KYC exchanger after Ku-coin? on: July 14, 2023, 11:22:33 AM
Huobi now allows to withdrawal up to 5BTC a day, by just giving your name, your birth date and your nationality. They will give you a kind of virtual citizenship from the Commonwealth of Dominica.
I seriously started thinking about moving to this platform and trying it out. Do you have any prior experience about it? Average withdrawal between 2k to 5k per month with good support for major trading pairs and adequate liquidity.
Unfortunately, DEXs are still far from being perfect, and even BISQ is suitable for those who want to convert to fiat, although it is still a good experience.
also, you can use this forum and ask a trusted person with a verified account to do the exchange for you, which is an option you can use as a last option.

Cheers 🥂, Dr.Bitcoin_Strange 👺👺
Sorry to be off topic but why do you use your username at the end of the post? It would be logical if there were more than one user managing the account and not one user. Huh Huh Huh
1569  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I understand Bitcoin charts? on: July 14, 2023, 11:08:36 AM
Good day, esteem members of this prestigious forum, please do not find this question unnecessary, I need experienced investors who knows that understanding charts is part of investment strategy and means to maximize profit,  enlighten us on bitcoin charts. If there is any thread explaining chart, please kindly drop their link.

I know there are different types of charts, you can Explain the chart you know in it's simplest form.

because the available trading pairs are based in one way or another on Bitcoin or USDT and given that the value of Teller is stable, it is most likely that the increase in the price of Bitcoin will affect these currencies, with an increase or decrease.
Therefore, you find that the price of the BTC/ALTCOIN pair changes slowly compared to a pair, for example, the USDT/ALTCOIN pair, which generally tends to be stable in the long term.

It is rarely to find ALTCOIN/ALTCOIN pair and them volumes is not like Bitcoin/Altcoin pair.

it is the trading pairs, liquidity and high trading volumes associated with Bitcoin that make it an impact on altcoins.

Also, when Bitcoin rises, some retail traders tend to invest in altcoins, hoping that BTC / ALTCOIN will rise and thus return to buy more Bitcoin, and thus the prices of ALTCOIN will rise.
1570  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Question about taxes on crypto profits (USA) on: July 14, 2023, 09:18:16 AM

More details: when trying to withdrawal some profits from a transaction, the exchange said I must pay them for the capital gains.  It sounds shady to me, like a scam, as I thought only the IRS could actually collect taxes.

It is only scam. crypto exchange only reports your TAX file to the IRS and does not ask for taxes from you. Can you share with us the link to that exchnage, in addition to reporting it here ----> ReportFraud.ftc.gov

Because tracking transactions and making them paying taxes is also a difficult task for the authorities. Let me share that article with you here:

It is better not to rely on articles on tax and legal data and to ask from available government sources or through an accredited lawyer. It is true that they provide good data, but in the end it is better to refer to government sources.[/list]
1571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina Launches it's First Bitcoin Futures Contract, Brazil To Follow.. on: July 14, 2023, 08:58:44 AM
The wording of the news seems strange. Did Argentina really launch future contracts for bitcoins, or did they allow them?

I tried to look at the source and since it is in Spanish, which I do not speak, it has been translated as shown below:

Quote
Bitcoin: cryptocurrency futures contracts begin to operate
The new investment instruments supported by the Bitcoin Index start operating in the Matba Rofex futures market. What features do they have and how do they work?
So yes, Argentina has allowed Bitcoin futures trading on the Matba Rofex futures market.
It is not big news, and futures trading is not trading in Bitcoin, but rather speculation in the value of Bitcoin, and therefore they making money from the price fluctuation, although it may affect the price before the time comes to close the positions.
1572  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will you sell...next bull run? on: July 14, 2023, 08:35:17 AM
Really depends on how much you are holding in my opinion.

Maybe if you are holding less than 1 BTC, then it's best to wait till the top price (although it's hard to time it, but as previous bull run, it's either around Nov-Dec, so most likely in this case, could be around that 2025).

I like the ladder method though, if you have more than 1 BTC, I think that will also be very effective plan on how to sell your stash and get the profits that you wanted.
It differs according to the individual, the state and society, as one amount of Bitcoin may be a lot in one country and normal in other countries. try to divide the amount so that you have sold most of your coins somewhere near the ATH.
Also, all Bitcoin cycles show a difference at the beginning, but as a result, the result is the same, that the price of Bitcoin breaks the previous peak, and then the state of uncertainty begins.
1573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Our Vision: How to change the world in three simple steps by Bitcoin" on: July 13, 2023, 11:23:42 AM
@OP please stop doing such activities and participate in discussions instead of copying from the Internet. It is true that you will not rank-up quickly, but at least you will learn more that enables you to earn merits quickly.

Sure, they slipped the reference in the middle of the post, so I guess its not technically "plagiarism," even though it is damn close:
The account that gave him a merit (2Pizza410000BTC) is active in this local board (বাংলাদেশ (Bengali)), and all merits earned are from Wall Observer BTC/USD plus copy/paste method.

This account tried to post in different local baord Nigeria (Naija) but his post was in English.
It reminded me of an account that was recently banned (Unfortunately, was active in the pizza challenge)
I'm going to put him on my watch list, and maybe he'll start using an AI tool as the banned account did Grin.
1574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just completed my first totally air-gapped transaction... on: July 13, 2023, 11:05:10 AM
Insisting the use of QR codes to transfer information would just be unfounded paranoia. Any form of attack with that form of complexity would be quite expensive would require too much effort to execute. Besides, ColdCard doesn't execute any code within the PSBT, should be quite easy to verify that. ColdCard is a great wallet, nothing to worry about.
No one talked about the possibility of losing your coins but about the experience of an air-gapped transaction as it did not happen air-gapped in the case of the SD card. I agree with you about the difficulty and complexity of carrying out such an attack, even if SD card contains viruses, but as an experiment, QR is better and faster, except in cases where it is difficult to convert the signature into a QR code.

@OP We are proud of you but keep learning.
1575  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: First Criminal Case Involving Attack on a Smart Contract Operated by DeX on: July 13, 2023, 10:56:01 AM
This case also sets a good precedent because this might discourage flash loan attacks. However, developement teams should also encourage whitehat hacking and give security engineers generous bounties to find security vulnerabilities.
No matter how generous the rewards are, in the end the amount that can be hacked is very large. We are talking about millions of dollars. The good side is that these bridges are not easy to find loopholes in, so it is likely that most of bugs are discovered by the developer team, cooperation with the security authorities or making the code open. The source is the solution. In the end, a hacker will not risk his life for millions of dollars and will prefer a reward.

I wonder in such an incident will the money stolen by the hacker be returned to the "Crypto Exchange" or will it be confiscated by the US government?

According to the cases open on the judge. If it was money laundering, it will be confiscated, and if it is related to hackers or money stolen, then it will be returned.
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 10:27:02 AM
Do not join these channels because they are often fraudulent, and then you not only lose your coins, but also help them exploit the large numbers of participants in deceiving more people.
Therefore, by joining these channels, you are helping them to be rich and steal more people, and you are the loser in the end, as you are risking a high-risk investment with certain losses.

So it's a double loss and scam support. Im talking about free or paid groups.
1577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day Trading Bull Flag Patterns on: July 13, 2023, 09:36:18 AM

I'm interested in day trading but I am still not so experienced
So, day trading is not suitable for you. Day trading is a trading style for professional traders and it is better to avoid it if you do not have a good background in day trading, as it is not that trading that brings you a lot of profits, but achieving a profit of 1% daily means a percentage more than 30% per month, which is better than being collected by long-term trading. Therefore, day trading is not for achieving high profits in the short term, but rather for continuity.

I can give you links on how to learn day trading, but I do not find it logical. You cannot learn to run before walking. Start and master the basic skills represented in identifying support and resistance points and reading technical indicators. After you master walking, you can ask about running.
1578  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BARR Pattern - Best performing chart pattern according to Bulkowski Stats on: July 13, 2023, 09:17:12 AM
Thank you for your explanatory explanation, and I was hoping that you would provide new charts explaining the Bump and Run Reversal Bottom (BARR) in current BTC/USDT chart or during the past weeks, but from what I understood, most of us start this model without knowing, as the resistance points are either momentum points to break the next top or Bounce, volume is a confirmatory indicator in this case.

Using this indicator alone without formulating a general strategy will lead to wrong results, as despite the high trading volumes, Bitcoin fails to reverse its direction, but by following the pattern for a longer period, the closer the price is to the top, the easier it is to break it and with lower trading volumes next time.
1579  Economy / Services / Re: I Need Someone Who Can Send And Receive Payments with Paypal on: July 13, 2023, 08:46:38 AM
If you use Paypal and can receive payments and pay me in crypto, I have a deal for you.
I'll need the payment made the same day that the client paid to consider you dependable, so we can have a long-term partnership.

The nature of the PayPal transaction is that it can be reversed, while Bitcoin transactions are ir-reversible, and therefore, given that your account does not contain a commercial trust record besides the negative trust from one of DT, you must remove this bold condition.

Therefore, if you want to account for someone from the forum, you must wait at least 180 days* before receiving crypto or try to use P2P services outside the forum.

I do not advise anyone to conduct a transaction with this account according to the above condition.

* I don't know if the date is accurate but I mean the maximum period for which the amount cannot be reversed.

These are mainly people who assume that I may not publish their press releases after paying for them. There's no way I'd receive a payment and not deliver. In any case, if you provide evidence of a refund, that wouldn't be an issue. I can also refund you what was charged to your account.
As long as you want crypto, tell them to use a escrow, or risk getting paid lately. Wink
