If you're going long buy litecoin.
Don't go with the fad of the month and don't go with already pumped coins.

You should inform yourself first on what laws the particular exchange has to abide to.
This stuff has been in place in EU since I can remember, I assume it got a bit stricter in latter years, but nothing new...

Oh man! This is hilarious! Thanks for sharing! It remind me of Miss Teen South Carolina: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8DwwIt has nothing to do with gender, half of this forum is quite stupid and I'm pretty sure they're dudes.

Interesting, now you can fund your Paypal account with bitcoin, well, with Coinbase as middleman, I guess eventually one will be able to fund Paypal account directly with bitcoin, but for now this is pretty good.

The price on BTC-e is $614 as we speak. Any reason for this?

The most recent very bad movie I saw was The Huntsman: Winter's War, boring, awful performances from good actresses, nonsense story line, bad CGI, clichés, complete crap.

Poloniex is exchanging ETH. Anyway, they are fucked now. They own like 10% from ETH. LOL If ETH goes down, Poloniex is going after them too; so, be careful where you keep your funds it seams Kraken is fucked too. they have "millions" worth of ETH What do you mean with that? Those coins belong to users, or do you mean they invested in Ethereum, if so why are you assuming they didn't made profit already? 10% from ETH belongs to users? they are fucked like shit. ETH will lose the value because it's hacked and there are chances to be closed http://etherscan.io/address/0xb794f5ea0ba39494ce839613fffba74279579268So? Coins lose value all the time... Why are Poloniex and Kraken fucked?

Hey guys,
I'm not saying that poloniex got hacked but all ETH deposits are gone.
I deposited some ETH and blockchain tells me that they went through but they aren't shown in poloniex.
I tried to change my password and it didn't let me.
I thought it's maybe only my account that has got problems... but in the trollbox there are a lot of other people having the exact same issues.
Considering the news that DAO got hacked I feel certain that poloniex got hacked.
It went through. It's Poloniex witholding everyone's ETH to avoid a major dump. This could be a request behind the scenes from the Ethereum Foundation itself. Edit: The 'request' comment is just speculation, so only take it with a grain of salt. Not between the scenes. Vitalik panicked and created a thread on reddit asking for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4oif2x/dao_attack_exchanges_please_pause_eth_and_dao/They are acting like central banks. Poloniex froze people's accounts just like central banks do with bailouts. What a scam. Well, isn't he the lead developer? Why shouldn't he be worried about this? I don't see the problem in prevent the theft of $60 million...

Thank you for the answer... didn't understand the fee part correctly I just sent fee that was suggested by the wallet. Can I reverse this transaction with -zapwallet and resend it? As you can see here https://blockchain.info/tx/9de7bc11dbebb450d466063b3173dac5fbe5689704547f6613a57fc5f648a859 your transaction is 225 (bytes), you paid 4484 satoshi fee, if you do the math you come up with 19.93 satoshi/byte, which is low for current network load. If you were going to make a transaction right now and wanted it included in next few blocks you have to pay at least 60 satoshi/byte.
|
|
|
It is expected that new technologies, new software to have bugs, I don't see all the drama in reversing the transaction, if people involved agree, or a majority of the people involved agree with this, better then let another theft unpunished, it's away to common in cryptoland.
I don't think it's as simple as you may want it to appear to be. The implications of going either way is huge. Only time can tell how Ethereum is going to be perceived by the serious players in crypto whatever route they take. Agree, my opinion from the beginning is this DAO should have never accepted that kind of money, I think even the initial goal of 500k was too high. Now, whichever route is taken will make damage.

|
Network has been like shit for quite some time, if you want your transaction confirmed you really need to stay up to date with what's happening right now. You paid 19,93 satoshi per byte. As you can see here https://btc.com/stats/unconfirmed-tx there are a few MB of transactions with bigger fee, if people continue to submit transactions your transaction will eventually get dropped, if transaction rate decreases you might get confirmed.

Thanks. How can open-source code get over-written like that? Was there no peer review to make it robust? I thought the whole point of making code open source was that everyone could look at it and find flaws? Yes, saw somewhere that that particular vulnerability has been described in 2015, I guess people didn't pay it enough attention. You can read everything about this hack and mitigation here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum
