I think it is more likely to be an alt of Sirius or at least someone who is known to him. Sirius is the co-founder of the the forum and used to control the domain. It is likely that he doesn't want to be hassled so transferred it to an anonymous alt or someone he trusts.

I also reached to the same conclusion on my earlier post.
Unfortunately, Nobody took interest/notice on it.

But there some interesting post by Theymos itself in 2014.

I received the domains from an anonymous person who claimed to have worked with Satoshi in the early days. He claimed that Satoshi split up his assets before leaving in order to prevent too much centralization: The SourceForge project to Gavin, bitcoin.org to Sirius, and the two other domains to this anonymous person.

Theymos also claimed that he do not know this anonymous person.

In this context, does "anonymous person" mean that you don't know his identity or that you know it but have reasons to not reveal it here?

I don't know his identity, and it was clear that he didn't want his identity to be known.

In short, not only the creator of Bitcoin is anonymous but now also the domain owner of this forum.

Stop Buddy before you invest in ICO.
Just go and buy ICO token and invest your money?
Who will read the whitepaper?
Who will do the research to verify the usability and feasibility of the project?
Who will check if said team already exist?
What about checking some github code?

It is not as simple as you think to invest in ICO.

I agree is not that simple. And of course people have to read the white paper, understand what the project is about, if it's feasible, investigate the team involved in the project, etc. Which is why I said in the 1st point that in the ICO website one can find all the resources one needs to check the project. "1. Enter project's website to register for the ICO: There you will find information about the project, where they specify what the project is all about, its goals, the amount of money needed, how long the funding campaign will go on for and so forth."

Thank you for the warning though! Everyone should dedicate enough time to understand any project before investing any of their money.

So it simply means your article is not adding any value here. Somebody intelligent enough to do all the research and find the information do really need this type of information  like "Buy bitcoin and Ethereum" or " Buy ICO tokens " or " Participate in an ICO by sending your crypto to their address " ?

I think it better if you invested your time in posting something useful. Writing this big post is really time and effort consuming but it is of no use .

1565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best new tokens on: August 27, 2018, 03:45:46 PM
I have been monitoring the cryptocurrency market for more than a year. I studied the information on all the news sites. I talked on forums and chose the best projects. I want to choose a new project now. What tokens do you consider ready to bring quickly a good profit?

I will suggest you some different approach. There are many projects that running below the ICO price. Try to investigate them . Since these have already raised capital and working on the product , you can easily judge the progress of them. It is very difficult to judge  a new project and a new team when many of ICOs are currently scamming.

Question: Explain the avalanche effect.

(PDF) Study of Avalanche Effect in AES. Available from: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/304141002_Study_of_Avalanche_Effect_in_AES [accessed Aug 23 2018].

Directly copy/paste from Wikipedia. By the way people are going to research due to merit reward Wink. I just avoid him to report plagiarism as well he try to research.

Sorry for posting on a row, just by mistake during collect quote. Unable to delete before 24 hour's, pugman please delete it. I have save on draft & I will update on my Above post.

Nopes, This guy copied from that paper (the PDF reference  in the post). Since I do not expect a research paper to be plagiarized, and both paper and wikipedia having same definition, I make assumption might be wikipedia is plagiarized.
PS: Still make me wonder how somebody looking for a simple definition find a complex research paper in which definition is in the third page of the research paper not even in the first and did he/she really read that paper to that point?
1567  Other / Meta / Re: Cobras recent moves and possible effects on: August 27, 2018, 08:00:30 AM
Cobra is not supporting BCH on top of BTC instead he is saying about co-existence.
Anyways people change their mind with time and explore more new thing.

Recently  below signature of sirius caught my attention

"I'm not a forum admin - please contact theymos instead."

Further researching on him I come to know he is the " early bitcoin developer and the original founder of the Bitcointalk.org forums " and he is now  more interested in the technology of "Stellar" instead of bitcoin.

Does it mean, he will harm bitcoin ?  No he replied that "but I still use Bitcoin to support the merchants when it's available."

1568  Other / Serious discussion / Is HODL is a good policy? on: August 27, 2018, 07:16:49 AM
HODL is very popular in Bitcoin world and word come into existence when a bitcoin believer  GameKyuubi   misspelt the word HOLD under the influence of alcohol urging fellow bitcoiners not to sell their bitcoin in the crashing market but instead wait for market to recover.

The misspelt word got the fancy of many and HODL stratergy born which simply means to hold your bitcoin in all circumstances. Ironically it is in total contrast with the situation where  laszlo  offered 10000 bitcoins for pizza.

Bitcoiners start popularizing the HODL strategy so much that it raise an important question whether it is a good stratergy or not. First of all,HODL is not a new concept, whenever the market tanks experts always suggest not to panic sell but advice to buy more of stock in cheap to average out and get more gains when market stabilize.

HODL as a concept or stratergy is not at all beneficial to bitcoin ecosystem. Bitcoin is a currency and currency needs to flow, be part of the transactions, involving more and more people using the currency. If nobody use it as a currency then it will just become a speculative asset. Technically Bitcoin network need transactions to keep the miners engaged because block rewards are going to half after every 4 years and Satoshi believed that earning from transaction fees will keep the miners incentivized in future. If there is no transaction fees for miner to earn then why miner will be supporting the network. If there is no network then there will be no Bitcoin, So HODL principle is basically against the Bitcoin network as well as the satoshi dream.

We exactly need a eco system in which we can earn the bitcoin, spend the bitcoin and save some for our future uses. It is similar system to fiat but instead earning in fiat we need to earn in bitcoin. This will hep us to constantly keep earning the Bitcoin and make us free from worry that what is the price of bitcoin against USD and we will be saving in a global currency. HODL mentality will not allow this ecosystem to be active.

In the end, by HODL you might have saved your investment in troubled time but if you think instead of HODL if you tried to average out your Bitcoin or just doubled up then you will be more happier and have more Bitcoin to transact.

So say no to HODL instead try to earn it and spend and  let the currency keep flowing.

1569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Experience with Bitcoin Fees? on: August 27, 2018, 02:19:52 AM
In my last 4 transactions, I am paying the average fees of .5 (half) Satoshi per byte and transaction getting confirmed in next block. I find a transaction in which user paid .25 (quarter) Satoshi per byte.
So fees are really low,so good opportunity to consolidate the small inputs. (LoyceV already pointed this earlier).
1570  Other / Off-topic / Re: Easy Twitter on: August 26, 2018, 10:05:22 PM
Social media branding is now become so important so it better to have some organic followers. I think in future there will be some training institutes will be open for personality grooming and sell it online .(Not any product but your personality).

Facebook  has now $10 billion Dollar as advertising revenue due to its userbase , twitter is nowhere near to it.
I am wondering , in future generation people will wait to to get 13 years of age , start creating and earning with twitter and facebook or might be some other social media that will share the revenue with userbase and ousted these medias.
1571  Other / Beginners & Help / Don't buy steemit accounts from others, buy it officially and legally on: August 26, 2018, 09:28:44 PM
I recently found in Services section of this forum that people are buying and selling newly created Steemit account.

Generally creating account in Steemit requires wait period of 2 weeks and authentication by providing email and phone number.
But good news is that you can create account by paying fees itself in Blocktrade.us instantly and without providing any email and phone number (same as in Bitcointalk) .

Steps to follow.
1. Go to the url "https://blocktrades.us/create-steem-account"

2. As in Step1 there choose the username from all available usernames. If you buy accounts from other I do not guess you will get freedom of choosing the account name yourself. Make sure you copy the password of Steemit in safe place (as in Step 2). If you forgot the password of your Steemit account then forget your account too. Steemit do not have any "Forgot Password" utility.

3. In step 3, You need to download the password backup file. Step 4 is the actual step where you pay the actual fees. This fees can be paid in multiple crypto currencies includind Bitcoin, litecoin, dash, ethereum, dogecoin, bitshares , Steem Dollars etc. Currently fees is fixed at 6.1 Steem having 2 Steem  in your account. For payment in other currency payment value will fluctuate as per the steem value. For doing transation, you need to click "Get Deposit address" and make sure you are sending same type of payment in that deposit address that you have selected as payment method.

Once transaction completes , you will get an instant Steeemit account for blogging.
So Happy Steeming.
1572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Architect Launches Bitcoin Hostel Near Rio De Janeiro in Brazil on: August 26, 2018, 08:17:11 PM
If travel and tourism start accepting cryto currency then International travelers will be most relieved. It will be headache to accumulate forex and return unused forex after the visit completes.   If we have some establishment that can accept cryto currencies in all over the world.
But sad part is some government do not see crypto currency as currency and do not take it as legal form of payment.

Anyway good article though article is seriously lacking with pictures.
1573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Defination of some short Abbreviations used on forum. Everyone should know; on: August 26, 2018, 07:27:03 PM
I think there are 2 short forms which are popular but did not make it to original
Terminolgy thread, by yogi  or this thread.

SMT => Spam Mega Thread.
SMAS blacklist => Signatute Manager against Spam blacklist

SMAS Blacklist is a good initiative by Lauda, lutpin and Yahoo. I guess if all of the Campaign Manager start making this list and sharing it our all spam problems will be solved.
1574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If I am not good at constructive post then I can't get merit. on: August 25, 2018, 10:00:55 PM

Thankyou
I will take care of these things and try to contribute to forum at my best. You are true initially I joined this platform for bounty but now I want to take part in discussions and I am trying.

Good, You need few points to start.
1. Read , In this forum and may be outside.
2. Filter, Not everything is good, read from reliable sources only and stop reading speculative threads and mega spam thread.
3. Book mark the good content
4. Do not chip in any discussion if you have no knowledge of it.
5. If you got the topic in which you have knowledge , then write your views, articulate them , if required give proper references.
6. Avoid spelling mistakes and re read your post before posting to ensure that sentences are coherent.
7. Avoid Copy pasting others articles , it can bring permanent ban.
8. If you do not have anything to add in the topic in discussion, then move on. No points/Merit for repeating the things.

Ok, Still there is no guarantee of Merit but I think you will evolve with time  and feel good by doing things correctly and may be you will start getting merits for writing good answers when you are even not expecting them.
1575  Other / Meta / Re: Just an idea on: August 25, 2018, 09:39:25 PM
Lets forget about this forum about a moment and lets talk in general.

Is it not the user duty to to do some research?  Do you believe in accepting unknown invitation, opening unknown links?
Then why we start believing in ICO projects and bounties.

Trust system is fairly good and I just think everybody should be sent one-pager while joining , how this forum work.
Everyday you will find a new Copper member starting a new bounty, what you will do about it?

Only work that increase user awareness in general are good and creating this kind of list will give a false sense of security.

(People can go on creating N number of companies, how many we will list ? Tell them how to DYOR correctly it will benefit all.)
1576  Other / Meta / Re: Follow users by merit instead of threads on: August 25, 2018, 09:07:16 PM
---Good post--

It is good data collection but I do think it is practical. Like following anybody will lead to that user favorite sections and it might not be my favorite section.

I know we have spam problem but after using this site for 2+ month you easily understand what can be filtered out and it is same with all site that you do not read the topics that do not interest you.
1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard disk capacity will become a bottleneck in the development of Bitcoin on: August 25, 2018, 08:06:46 PM

Of course, some solutions are to NOT store the whole block and NOT to run a full node, but also even the desire to run a full node is relatively NOT that expensive and regular peeps can do it with relatively old processors.. and we can even assume that the blockchain will grow to a terabyte within 5-10 years, and still that seems completely reasonable and affordable for regular peeps, given the already inexpensive availability of such storage on regular consumer computers for far less than $1k... .which is even affordable in poverty stricken areas (even though network band with might be a potential BIGGER issue) that requires more sophistication in terms of keeping a connection.

$1K is too much , 2TB storage is now very cheap, I think a desktop application with 2 TB storage will come less than $250.
I think OP is confused with mining power for mining bitcoin vs requirement to run full node.

You can use raspberry pie to run a full pruned node and can use banana pie with external harddisk to run a full node on it.

Might be this topic will be of your interest.
1578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Сrypto-exchange without any fee - Is this Interesting? on: August 25, 2018, 07:46:50 PM
Instead of no fees I think below ideas you can use . (Free things can be abused so should be avoided)

1. Low fees on withdrawal or no fees on withdrawal.
2. Trading fees you can take competitive.
3. Fixed trading fees let say $5 for a day.

First 2 points will allow traffic from normal investor but third point will attract whales. They will be happy to trade, re trade their coins and token multiple times a day just paying a fixed fees it will be almost free for them.
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokenaire - Thoughts on creating your own token? on: August 25, 2018, 07:18:50 PM
So I just found this new project, Tokenaire which allows you to have your own token and time capsule on the blockchain. Its backend is based on the Waves DEX which makes it interesting. Super stoked to try this out.

Does anyone have any experience with creating their own token? Any thoughts on Tokenaire?

I do not interested why people now first interested in creating the token first and thinking about it utility later on. First get a business model or a plan then integrate the token in such a way that both can be sustainable.
Token creation should be the last part to get the funding. Creating token first look scammy to me.
As for your answer, I think Ethereum platmormis more widespread than waves.

Proof of stake concept gives variable stakes depending upon the Network weight and other parameters. Nobody gives correct estimate how much minimum you need to stake for successful staking.
I highly doubt staking 25 Light pay coin will yield 2.5 coin weekly. It is not in their Whitepaper , so how you landed in this figures?
