581  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: March 29, 2019, 06:40:32 PM
Will you like to share the access to your database of bpip in the way similar to the Piggy Sql Tool?
I just like  to query it.
582  Other / Meta / Re: [Reapply] Merit source application of Coolcryptovator. on: March 29, 2019, 06:15:33 PM
Few of the users become merit source without even putting the application. I just find your re applying weird.
Anyway , I can wish you the good luck.
583  Other / Meta / Re: Community Opinion - Signature Campaigns on: March 29, 2019, 05:57:47 PM
I am just wondering that will signature come with NSFW warning? Just wondering somebody accidentally clicking the link in touchscreen mobile in office hours  Smiley

Will I do the signature campaign for it?
Probably not.

Will you find the member in forum for this ad ?
Probably yes, because recently Sexy Cam easily got the required participants.

Quote
Are these the same users?
I don't think so, otherwise there's some Merit abuse involved.

Below statement does not point that they are same user but look like dishwara never explicitly written that they are 2 different users.

He want to make a donation from 0.1 BTC for unlocking this account.  Also can he delete all posting with "wrong" content.
585  Other / Meta / Re: Grant Me Legendary Status on: March 29, 2019, 05:26:18 PM
There's no denying the largest part of Bitcointalk is indeed altcoin discussions, ANNs and the increasingly defunct tokens section. Spam or not, it is the largest and generates the most traffic.

I'm going to shift my perspective here a bit, merit is dead in altcoins and i truly do understand that now. Altcoins have always been shunned by the vets of Bitcointalk, out of ideology or because of the pure spam. Today, hate against altcoins occurs to a much lesser degree due to the evolution of altcoins tech, and having impact on Bitcoin in a variety of ways and shapes much of the discussion about Bitcoin.

And you forget to mention most important word "SCAM. Most Altcoins are created for scamming only.

Leading into merit. I truly believe that altcoin discussions is on-par with bitcoin discussions in terms of quality. It has significantly grown and matured in the last year, I don't necessarily know how Theymos and some of you older dudes view altcoins these days, so i can't really comment on what the best interest or how you want to dictate these forums.

Theymos is not against altcoin as he is accepting grincoin and planning for XMR as payment option in future. I am quoting one of the theymos old post.

Satoshi created Bitcoin and this forum in order to change the world, not to create a "Cult of BTC". In fact, Satoshi recommended creating Namecoin, the first altcoin. (Though Namecoin ended up being one of the bolt-stuff-onto-cloned-Bitcoin systems that I've never really respected.) I'm not going to start jumping on every alt bandwagon and treating every cryptocurrency as just as good as any other, nor do I believe that grin is currently anywhere close to BTC in terms of overall utility. But grin has true merit, and if you're interested in Bitcoin for the same reasons that Satoshi created it (freedom, privacy, and interesting tech), then grin is worthy of acknowledgement.
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan Wu is no longer CEO of Bitmain on: March 28, 2019, 04:11:18 AM
They will might fully focus in BTC mining and their business. Selling BCH will cause massive drop in BCH price and might cause fear that ( bitmain is exiting from BCH) will further dive down the price.
They will be fine if they gradually sell their BCH bags while using their hash power to mine BTC .
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: By far THE biggest crypto scam EVER… on: March 28, 2019, 03:58:13 AM
I neither do agree with OP and not with the author.
I can agree with author if network is choked and Dev is doing nothing. If everything is working fine then why we want to bloat the blockchain.

The biggest truth is that people are habitual of pointing fingers even if there is no problem.
588  Other / Meta / Re: Number of earned Merit during the last 120 days (counted automatically) on: March 28, 2019, 02:00:44 AM
I guess I can put a custom query in Piggy sql tool but only issue is Piggy database is updated on Friday.(not the real time updates)

Did not checked DdmrDdmr Merit dashboard.

Unfortunately Vod is only displaying data and do not provide any privilege to do Data Analytics on it.

Does someone know about a tool where it's possible to count the received Merit for the last 120 days automatically? Counting all Merits manually is still possible but not very fast (depending on the number of earned Merit)

The only site I know is this one, but it's limited to a few accounts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topusers

Someone asked this today in the German local board.

If there is no tool yet I'm sure that LoyceV or DdmrDdmr will do a good job in creating it.  Wink

These are recent merits, may be last 30 days, not 120 days as you thought.
589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit giveaway for forum contributions! on: March 27, 2019, 04:28:08 PM
Glad to see that you are helping people's by merit on their post. I noticed from beginning you are helping especially to nebiwe users. However although I have made few contribution topic for forum user but I will not post it here for merit. Because newbie need merit more than me.

I guess you should feel free to apply. Merit sources have plenty for deserving. Helping yourself the newbie will be a different feeling.

Let me try my luck here.

590  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The purpose of using bitcointalk on: March 27, 2019, 04:16:39 PM
I came here to save my money. This forum is part of my DYOR about coins whether I should buy them or not. I browsed this forum as a guest for  approximately for a month before  joining it.

I don't know but I just hooked with this forum once I joined.
591  Other / Meta / Re: Brainboss's Merit Source Application. [Focus Alt subsections] on: March 27, 2019, 04:00:27 PM
I would hate to see you become a source.

This topic shows your poor judgement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5100675 - you are just throwing rules in the air, that are at best not true. Bumping them all the time won't make them any more legit.

But he is not applying for Moderator position or proving his worthiness to be DT member.

Merit Source is a very different aspect though cryptohunter mixed DT,Merit source and merits all in one.

Can I support this application? I guess yes.

592  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting Member sandy_is_fine FOR Spamming (Please Ban Her Moderator) on: March 27, 2019, 03:38:40 PM
Sandy is a scam buster that i have been watching for a year now, sandy is a great member who along with a few other new DT members keeping the digital goods board somehow clean.

OP is very likely an alt of the recently banned skeptical or youtubetv.

I also got same feeling whatever you have written in OP trust setting.

I guess might OP have earlier communicated with Sandy. Just wondering how OP is certain that "Sandy is fine" is she?
593  Other / Meta / Re: What can I do about possible merit abuse? on: March 27, 2019, 03:24:24 PM
Most simplest solution that I can suggest you to change the requirement as below.
"You have earned "X" amount of merit in last 120 days but merits gained after publication of this OP will not be counted "

This is also a good advice, with this rule you can prevent merit abusers to adjust number of merits for new announced campaigns.

However impossible to follow practically when new users are required if the campaign does last over 120 days.

If one participant drops out of the campaign after 4 months (ie 120 days) the amount in the last 120 days, before publishing the thread will be 0 for everyone Smiley

However as said before, it has to be handled on a case by case basis, and since HHampuz was thorough enough to spot these abusers, I trust him to be as thorough in the future as well.

No, In this case you will start counting 120 days , when you open a new opening. Why you will stick to OP when you have already recruited all the participants against that requirement?

594  Other / Meta / Re: A BUMPING SERVICE EXAMPLE: How long are we going to look the other way? on: March 27, 2019, 04:30:50 AM
We've been fighting many of those in [CLUB] The SpamBuster! Over 7000+ accounts reviewed : [23.11], but I got discouraged when I reported a few hundred of them, and they only got their post removed. That doesn't do any damage to a bump bot, the thread was bumped already, the bot doesn't lose any time on it, and if it's not banned it can just continue what it's doing.
I think this forum is far too soft on spammers.

These accounts have posted in the ATRONOCOM thread: they have either been re-activated specifically for this purpose or newly registered.

595  Other / Meta / Re: Prompt for forum rules. on: March 27, 2019, 04:18:26 AM
I guess Theymos do not want to provide  rules because he believes more in discretion then some written rules.
I guess he is afraid that people will find loopholes in written rules and try to beat them.

597  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The death of cash on: March 26, 2019, 10:31:56 PM
Yes, and these coins won't be decentralized, so... bye bye Nakamoto...Sad

They will be of no value. These corporation are working to fill their own reserves ,people will get nothing.

Following the hijacking of the Yellow Vest movement in France, they are now suggesting that supporters should withdraw all their bank deposits in cash, and use cash for payments. It will be inconvenient, but it will disrupt the banking system, and will be more productive than burning and destroying assets that will be needed for an economic recovery.

But in the end , Money will reach to bank.

Even when the time comes that crypto is adopted widely, cash will still be a relevant mode of transaction. People need to have a physical item to hold in their hand you know. Bitcoin will also be here in the future but i will not make cash obsolete.

People do not need physical item to hold but they need convenient and easy thing to use. I rarely see people are using physical cash in big departmental store. They use cards.
598  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin on WhatsApp Coming on: March 26, 2019, 04:00:47 PM
Eh, this doesn't strike me as anything close to revolutionary, although it's definitely good to see crypto get some promotion this way.

What it reminds me of is when car companies were including satellite radio receivers in their cars, which gave Sirius/XM Radio investors tons of false hope about satellite radio adoption--and it didn't really take off like everyone hoped.  I've never used whatsapp, but even if everyone else does I'm wondering if people are going to find bitcoin to be useful or just a novelty.  I'm guessing they still will prefer using fiat when they have to pay for something, regardless of how convenient any company makes it to use bitcoin.  But I'll wait and see.

People are happily embracing the digital payment methods and crypto is also added as one of the digital payment methods for them.
Only hindrance I see in adoption is its volatility and somewhat long confirmation time.
599  Economy / Economics / Re: What should you do in bearish market? on: March 26, 2019, 03:48:54 PM
My conclusion: Jump out of bearish market a.s.a.p

Anybody can make profit in bull market and how do you know that bull market is not going to crash on next minute after you invested.

your precious time for your family and reading books to learn as much as possible about the market. The market is younger and younger but you're older and older. Don't be afraid of losing chances, be afraid of losing your money.

I guess you will keep gathering knowledge in your life with zero wisdom.
600  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Packing the Supreme Court is an attack on Democracy on: March 26, 2019, 03:28:44 PM

They want a country with one political party. Theirs. And at this time it's a political party with no goals other than this massive power grab.

I thought Trump was supported by Russians but look like he is more impressed by Chinese.
I think Trump never won the election ,it was Hillary who lost the election.
I guess he is in hurry, might be he will not get another term.
