1561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin City on: November 27, 2021, 03:55:35 PM

I believe with El Salvador Bitcoin adoption other countries will discover the potentials that the economy stands to gain using Bitcoin at this early stage, El Salvador will by far be above other countries in terms of the reserve and profits from these Bitcoin investments.

Imagine Bitcoin reaching 6-figures and Nayib selling almost all. Would definitely pay off a huge sum of their national debt Grin
1562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: November 27, 2021, 03:50:00 PM
el salvador buying the dip is the best news at the end of this year, Nayib has become a very strong president because he has thoughts that really aim to build and advance the country. "El Salvador buying the dip as a fxck other country"

First president to go YOLO on Bitcoin. Hats off to him for having the balls of steel.
1563  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Ledger !! on: November 27, 2021, 03:04:40 PM

A strange decision since we keep repeating the golden rule that reads "not your keys, not your coins". I hope you are aware of the risks arising from storing cryptocurrencies on online crypto wallets/exchanges. Mt.Gox and Quadriga were not a sufficient warning , along with some other lesser known hacks and exit scams.

Yep, I committed a cardinal sin by disregarding that statement. I'm aware of the risks, but I'd rather earn interests aside from price appreciation. So far the wallets I parked my funds in are insured so if anything happens, at least there's some form of compensation.

I do have some coins kept on exchanges, as the rates are better + choices are limited. But they're shitcoins so I don't really care much.

Any vulnerability discovered so far required physical access to the hardware wallet, and I am not aware of anyone reporting such hacking. Hacking through social engineering and phishing is something completely different, it has nothing to do with the security of the hardware wallet but with users who are not aware of how these devices work. If you don't expose your seed or become a victim of clipboard malware, I don't see how anyone will hack your HW.

About the hacks, one didn't involve any social engineering though, rather within the software itself:

Quote
“It was discovered that for BTC and Bitcoin forks, the device exposes its functions for any of the assets,” said Nokhbeh. “In other words, having unlocked the Litecoin app, you will receive a confirmation request for a BTC transfer while the interface presents it as a transfer of Litecoins to a Litecoin address. Accepting the confirmation produces a fully valid signed BTC (mainnet) transaction.”

Another one was a data leakage for those that registered on Ledger's website which involved residential addresses, quoted through the same source as above.

Quote
The public disclosure comes less than a week after it was discovered that Ledger had been the victim of a breach in which 1 million customer email addresses as well as the first and last name, postal address, phone number, and ordered products of 9,500 customers was compromised.

I used to own a Ledger Nano S, but sold it after I preferred leaving them inside online wallets.

Also, offline wallets are not safe from hacks. Some time ago, Ledger suffered some data breach, as well as a hardware exploit

1566  Economy / Securities / Re: [LOOKING FOR INVESTOR] CRYPTO GAMBLING CASINO on: November 27, 2021, 02:09:34 PM
Asking for a loan from the bank is not as easy as we think. Even though you have a collateral, the bank always asks why you are asking for a loan. If the reason was to set up a gamble, the bank would refuse the request because of the risk. So indeed looking for investors who have an interest in the world of gambling is a good way.

For some entertainment, you could go check on the Lending subforum and see a bunch of made-up stories that newbies and negative-tagged users would use just to secure some coins Smiley

Well, the last email I got from them was on Tuesday.

And it seems that they alternate between Chef Roo and Team Roo.
1569  Other / Meta / Re: how to recover a ban account??? on: November 27, 2021, 01:50:00 PM

According to OP initial post, it seems like that isn't the case:

The email changed, hmm? I did remember seeing the @edward extension some time back.
1570  Other / Meta / Re: how to recover a ban account??? on: November 27, 2021, 01:03:05 PM

1571  Other / Meta / Re: Disadvantages of non detectable early Plagiarism on: November 27, 2021, 12:18:25 PM
This rule has no meaning! If it would be removed, nothing would change because anything that isn't in the rules is allowed. The "discouraging" comes from users, not from Mods. So I consider it a clarification and warning instead of a rule.

Agree, I feel its more or less caveat emptor. Not like those involved would be banned anyway.
1572  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Warning] luckyfish.io is CLOSING on: November 27, 2021, 12:10:43 PM
IMHO, more control over their site is always a good thing. You have more control over developments especially if something breaks.
1573  Other / Meta / Re: This board is not keeping up with current times on: November 27, 2021, 11:54:08 AM

Still good if they will have sa child board dedicated for NFT marketplace like opensea inside Bitcointalk. In this way we can use Bitcoin to purchase NFT instead of native tokens of different blockchain plus escrow business might boom again. As a opensea user and NFT trader, It's very hard to sell on marketplace that you can't advertise your product or atleast negotiate in talks to potential buyer.

I will be happy if there will be a separated board for NFT buy and sell but I'm not hoping that it will be implemented.

Well, would definitely boost the forum name but we forumers are still waiting for our reporter badges and Bitcointalk V2.

Those things that were proposed ages ago remain in the backlog haha
1574  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|BFG for SPORTS🏆|⚽️ PORTO & LAZIO Battle|Stake NFT-Earn BFG🚀 on: November 27, 2021, 10:01:02 AM

Sorry my newbin question, but what you mean? After the 5 billion BFG are sold  (betfury users to market wallet ),nobody more else can sell the BFG ? stay stucked in our accounts?

Sorry ,maybee a stuid question, but .... we need to learn.

thanks

BFGs can still be traded, but the team (BFG) team that holds them will slowly move them out of circulation by sending them to burner addresses (i.e. burning circulation to reduce the supply)
1575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is cryptocurrency making new millionaires every day? on: November 27, 2021, 09:37:27 AM

You also need a lot of luck.

Take Doge and Shiba Inu for example. Those who invested in these meme coins or tokens early had been lucky there are still a lot of people chasing the hype even though their use cases aren't unique.

Close to a week ago, I saw someone posted his profit of over $500 million just by chucking $500 into SHIB during its early days.

1576  Other / Meta / Re: Does this include plagiarism? on: November 27, 2021, 09:28:20 AM
The first link already has a reply warning right off the bat

Coba agan cek lagi rules forum. Kalau agan cuma ngepost artikel silakan dicantumin link sumbernya (ga cuma nama situsnya aja), kalau ga bisa kena pasal copas. Kalau udah begitu ga lama lagi akun akan bakal kena ban.

Roughly translated based on my limited Indonesian Grin:

Quote
Please check the forum rules again. If you are only posting articles, please attach the source link (not just the site name), you don't wanna be caught plagiarizing. If that's the case, that account would likely be banned.
1577  Other / Meta / Re: This board is not keeping up with current times on: November 27, 2021, 09:19:06 AM

DeFi is pretty cool IMO, and it very well be the future of finance. NFTs are a short term phenomenon related to excess speculation. There isn’t any immediate need to have subs exclusively devoted to either currently. If you disagree, you should point to 20+ threads that are constantly on the first couple of pages of a particular sub.

Imagine having a NFT subforum, it would be pretty much a classified-fest when everyone's promoting their "art"
1578  Other / Meta / Re: how to recover a ban account??? on: November 27, 2021, 08:52:06 AM

When I saw the username "Charles" in the last link you shared, I immediately though of Charles-Tim lol but it's got nothing to do with him.

Lol, I had the exact thoughts when I glanced at that username. Grin
1579  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: November 27, 2021, 08:45:47 AM

Maybe Rollbit team would consider to list them on the likes of Coingecko and CoinMarketcap as it would be easy for others to search the token by people who are curious regarding this or it could be traded on exchanges, just my two cents. Being a millionaire wasn't that hard these days in crypto is just a matter of timing and the coin/token you choose.

Listing shouldn't be an issue with the volume but the optimistic price-point might be a challenge. Some casinos fail to even have their coins reach a quarter, like Fury (BFG) and FBC.
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: November 27, 2021, 08:21:46 AM
Crypto is mostly used by the young generation of the current world and it can be said that they are updated with the current world. They know the current world very much. Smart and easiest way to invest in crypto without going regulatory process which most of them want to ignore. This can be the best explanation for this statement so far.

The YOLO generation unlike the previous ones that prefer stability. Feels good being one of them Smiley
