Guy, weekends bonus is already send on our email. This time it’s a free 5USDT chips on Bombay Baccarat for every 500USDT bet on any games and we can claim up to 3 times. This is a very cool additional rewards to combo once again on the crypto crunch tournament. I claim lots of 5USDT on last week Blackjack Hunting but this time it’s much easier because the goal can be calculated compared to Blackjack hunt that is pure based on luck.

Check your email but if you didn’t received this, You can try claiming it using the code 3BHAPPY. You cam redeem it under your account reward profile https://livecasino.io/login?redirect=/profile/rewards. Start slowly accumulate those 500USDT now until the weekends. Good luck!
It seems this promotion is back again this week-end but you need to put your balance in USDT to be able to access it. And then you have to claim the reward with the same code as last time (3BHAPPY) the wagering requirement and the reward are also the same : $5 free chips at the Bombay speed baccarat table, for $500 wagered on any games.

On the surface, I do like that you can't be forced to hand over your private information... but I should think standing legal obligations should also be upheld (like if a person divorces and legally must hand over the divorced spouse's share of property... or tax obligations. I disagree with a lot of things but still believe in obeying the law of the country I live in. You know, "your house, your rules".

What happens when people are legally owed money by claimants and then this prevents claims?

e.g. What if Mt Gox v2 happens and some random CEO decides f it, I'm keeping my private keys. Not their keys not their coins.
The court will still see how much funds he holds through his adresses and public keys, and if he doesn't want to give on his own the amount of money ruled by the court they could seize all his other assets and put him in jail until he agrees to give the rest.
1564  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wyoming passes bill prohibing Bitcoin private keys from Courts on: February 17, 2023, 01:41:11 PM
I hope it will be used as a framework for other states and countries around the world, because it should be a right for any citizen, written in laws of any country. Unlike any other goods, disclosing a private key leads to surrender its property because it irreversibly remove all protection against unauthorized transactions from anyone seeing this key without leaving any trace.
But I wonder what will happen now if Wyoming citizens use Bitcoin private keys as passwords for encrypting unlawful/criminal contents and communications?
1565  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH on: February 17, 2023, 09:38:12 AM
there is on the top menu, the "Portfolio" section that give you all the transactions, buy, sell, wd, deposit etc.

There is also the "History" section, and here some filtering fields so you can filter for wd and see all of them using the filter "Transaction category".

I think that there at the end of every line still pending may appear the button to cancel the tx. I can't verify because now i don't have transactions to wd to make and in the pro version probabably still didn't make one.

Should be in the subsection "Spot" of "Portfolio" where there is the column "Status" just like the one in the non pro version.

Cheers
Thank you very much cesmak, I will check that the next time I make a withdrawal, because I've looked at everywhere yesterday and I didn't found a way to check its status and cancel my withdrawal, I finally turned off the pro version and went back to the classic one to be able to get back this feature. It's sad if we can't do that in the pro version though.
1566  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH on: February 17, 2023, 12:22:41 AM
Great !!!
In the Kraken pro version how do you check the status of your withdrawals and how do you cancel them(when they are still pending) please? Because I haven't found that. It's an important feature in the classic version, so I guess there is something equivalent in the pro version, no? I don't see a Funding tab there unfortunately.

1567  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Thinking of separating my holdings into two physical locations. on: February 16, 2023, 04:18:09 PM
I don't think we are talking about the same thing actually, you seem to talk about funds/investments belonging to your couple/family while Wind_FURY and me are talking about your own funds, money that you want to keep for yourself.
But I don't have anything I want to keep from my family. What good is my money to me after I'm dead? Why would I not want my family to have access to it?
You don't need to share your security secrets with your wife to let her inherit your cryptos after your death. You can simply encrypt your seed with a password (or use a split seed) and write this password in your will left at a notary or in a sealed envelope given to relatives. You can also schedule a mail to her birthday for example, and cancel it every year if you are not dead or amnesiac, or you can simply use a service that allow your heirs or trusted people to access your datas after your death or after being inactive during a given amount of time, like this one for example.

Don't you think it would be unfair that he tries to target your wife or your children instead of you, because he knows or he thinks you are the kind of guy sharing your crypto seed with his family and it will be easier to use social engineering tricks on them or worse things than that?
If someone knows enough about you to target you for your bitcoin holdings, they aren't going to care if your spouse does or does not know your wallet passwords, the location of your back ups, etc. They will be quite happy to kidnap and hit either of you until one of you tells them what they want to know.

As I said previously, this is part of the reason I argue so strongly for good privacy. If no else knows you own bitcoin, then you are less of a target. But at the same time I trust my wife not to tell everyone she meets that we hold bitcoin, just as I trust her not to tell everyone she meets our credit card details.
Well unfortunately there is not only one way to use violence for extorting money or informations from people. Anyway I'm not sure people are kidnapped and tortured everyday for this purpose, but I'm sure people are scammed everyday, so IMO there are more chances for your spouse to be scammed than being kidnapped thankfully. So what will you do, if someone is able to imitate your voice and ask her by phone to immediately send all your funds to a given address because you've been hacked and you are away, for example?

You are wrong if you think that people wearing casino signatures are also customers

Although I don't doubt that there are people who don't even gamble in these signature campaigns, in most cases they are people who know about gambling.

I for example, in participating in several casino campaigns I registered in the casino, tried it a little and that's it because my thing is poker and I play in fiat sites but I know about gambling. However, there may be people who do not register with the same nickname as in bitcointalk, or who like another casino or who usually bet in a fiat casino.

Or are you telling me that those of you who comment in this thread are not casino customers?

Livecasino.io - 🔥 up to 20% cashback🔥up to 20% rakeback 🚨 instant withdrawals

In any case, given the level of some of the participants in the stake campaign, I would not be surprised if the ratio of participants who don't gamble is higher in this one.
You should look at what posts from real gamblers look like on a forum https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/ and compare with the BTT Gambling section. There is no doubt that a large majority of posts are made by people who don't gamble and don't care about gambling here. Why do you think there is a thread in Meta section since several months about this issue ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403475.0
The overall rate is certainly lower than the one of this campaign fortunately, because other campaigns don't give bonuses for posting in this section, and are more demanding on quality, but it remains high though.

To be fair: gambling away your earnings isn't smart. It makes sense that some gamblers join a signature campaign to get more gambling funds. But recruiting campaign participants doesn't happen on Stake, and I don't expect the majority of Bitcointalk users to be active gamblers.
I may be wrong but the main purpose of a forum is to allow people to discuss topics they are interested in, not to allow them to earn money by posting useless content. You certainly don't care about the issue because you don't like gambling, but would you be happy if most users of Bitcoin sections were no-coiners in reality?

@Saint-loup Sorry for responding to an older message, but if you remember I posted about the same thing happening to me a while back. I got the promo email, but my account promo page didn't show it. And then Tournaments and Promos were all gone for me, but now it's all back Smiley I guess they fix accounts sometimes on their own.

Speaking of which, I opted in for this Club 99 promo.

https://livecasino.io/promotions/2023-01-09-99club

Wager $2300 in one single day and get a mystery prize.

Hey! That's a very good news buddy. Cheesy Thank you for this feedback mate. You don't know what happened to get your account back to normal BTW? You've contacted the support finally? You've made a bigger deposit than you use to do? I hope for you everything will stay like that now.
Regarding the 99 club mystery prize promotion, it should be a really big surprise for people winning the 15 000$ prize, unfortunately you need to wager a lot to have a decent chance to get it at this rate IMO, 0.005 % it's one chance out of 20 000, and I don't have much time and money for that currently, unfortunately. Good luck to the chasers anyway.🍀 Smiley

The only con is giving extra bonus for posts made in gambling board may encourage users to posts more there even when they are not used to be.
I agree with you, unlike other campaigns, the company sends payments into the casino accounts of participants, this means they can easily check who are real active gamblers interested in the matter who would post in the gambling section even if they were not enrolled in a casino campaign and who are non-gamblers posting there just because the campaign is requiring it. The number of participants enrolled in this campaign is currently very high (70 are listed in their spreadsheet but it is not comprehensive), it means this company has a responsibility toward the forum and toward the gambling section especially since they are giving bonus payments to post there.

I know you don't go there as much as I do, but I can assure you that the average user is quite mathematically illiterate, something you can check in threads that the same people who wear casino signatures, who are also customers of the casinos, open. Like:

1) They have tried the umpteenth variant of martingale and think it is bad luck that they have lost their money.
2) They create a thread regretting having lost too much money.
3) They naively believe that with bonuses and promos, the house gives them an RTP over 100, lol.

And things like that.
You are wrong if you think that people wearing casino signatures are also customers : check the spreadsheet above, the casino username of each participant is mentioned, you just need to type /user @username into the casino chat to get the vip rank of the account and its wagering statistics : You will notice that 95% of people are not active customers actually(ie VIP bronze at least), so when they post this kind of testimonies they're usually fake. They are not even newbie gamblers most of time, just fake ones.
1571  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Thinking of separating my holdings into two physical locations. on: February 15, 2023, 07:11:06 PM
Immediate family, very close/trusted friends, girlfriend/spouse. I believe NONE of them should know that you're active in Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency, or you're a shitcoin trader.
Do you think the same way about fiat or anything else of value that you have. I guess you work somewhere and you are paid a certain sum every month. Is that also something you think should be confidential and not shared with immediate family? Many partners open join bank accounts because it's easier. A family makes big decisions together. That also includes investments. I don't they should be kept in the dark and that the bitcoin should die with you.

Having said that, I also have certain rules. My family knows what to do and where to go for the backups to recover my digital assets. But they don't have my permission to do it. More precisely, they can't do it for the fun of it, or to see if it will work, etc. And while I am alive and healthy, I am the one that works the crypto thing. It might sound silly, but they respect that. It wouldn't take me long to notice they have accessed the hiding places depending on where we are at the moment. And we are usually in the same places.
I don't think we are talking about the same thing actually, you seem to talk about funds/investments belonging to your couple/family while Wind_FURY and me are talking about your own funds, money that you want to keep for yourself. If someone wants to "target" you as BlackHatCoiner says because you owe him money or because you're wealthy. Don't you think it would be unfair that he tries to target your wife or your children instead of you, because he knows or he thinks you are the kind of guy sharing your crypto seed with his family and it will be easier to use social engineering tricks on them or worse things than that? Sharing things with people can expose them to dangers related to those things unfortunately.
1572  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Xor or multisig on: February 15, 2023, 06:21:39 PM
As I said above a m-of-n multi-sig doesn't provide the same "redundancy in its back ups as an identical m-of-n SSS", because when you use a split seed you only need to remember one seed (the original one), so you don't need to bring your seeds with you each time you need to use your wallet.
I don't recommend remembering any seed phrases. That is a recipe for disaster.

If you want to use a multi-sig on only one device (as you would with SSS), you can do that too by simply importing two seed phrases in to the same device, while still benefiting from the 2-of-3 set up for your back ups. But multi-sig gives you the option to not have a single point of failure, which SSS fails to do.

This means you would need to store 3 seeds, and not a single extra one, to use your wallet with a 2-of-3 SSS seed, instead of 5 or 6 ones.
Why would I need to store 5 or 6 seed phrases with a 2-of-3 multi-sig? I've just shown above what my three back ups would be. A 2-of-3 SSS or a 2-of-3 multi-sig needs 3 back ups (unless you want to duplicate for added redundancy). A SSS requires one device to spend from, which is a single point of failure. A multi-sig can be spent from one device if you want, or can be spent using multiple devices for added security. Anything you are doing here with SSS, a multi-sig does better and more securely.
I don't understand why remembering your seed would be a bigger disaster than keeping your seeds at home, into your devices? By doing that you have to trust any people able to access your home when you're outside, guests, family, workers, etc and taking strong and expensive physical security measures against burglars. In addition, with a multisig wallet you need to store master public keys along with your seeds, while they are very weak against alteration because few missing characters can lead them to be unrecoverable. While mnemonic seeds are still usable with many missing characters and even with few whole words missing.
1573  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: HODL Wallet for BTC on: February 15, 2023, 03:59:21 PM
I don't have a problem with it (1 sat), if I can set 0.1 sat, I will do that.
Setting it to 0.1 sat/vB isnt possible imo with any wallet, right? Except maybe lightening network?
It's not possible with any GUI wallet indeed, but you can send transactions with decimal fee rates and fee rates under 1sat/vB by using some wallets in command line/console mode. For example with Bitcoincore you can use sendtoaddress or settxfee for that purpose. With Electrum you can use the payto function. But as it has been said your transactions are likely to be rejected by servers/nodes if the fee rate is too low.
1574  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitcoin wallet users, have you ever? on: February 15, 2023, 01:30:35 PM
Electrum in android apps seems to have a high-risk level, right? Electrum wallet is still better for me on a desktop than the mobile device in my

opinion. Because, according to my knowledge, it is more prone to hackers compared to the desktop. But, if it's okay for others, just go... Just be careful always.
You're wrong actually, I've never heard of a massive hack of the Android version while the desktop version has undergone an attack during several years causing many people to lose their funds because of it unfortunately. A guy even lost 1400 btc from this hack. That's why you should always be very cautious when you deal with cryptocurrencies.

1575  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Thinking of separating my holdings into two physical locations. on: February 15, 2023, 11:25:29 AM
girlfriend/spouse
So if you've been with someone for years or even decades, you've got kids or even grand-kids together, you still think you should hide your bitcoin activities from them? Maybe a new partner or spouse you've been with for only a few months, sure, but at some point when you build a life with someone, you share your finances with them.

I'm one of the strongest privacy advocates on this forum, but at some point, this just becomes common sense to let your spouse know. Why would I want to risk me suffering from memory loss or dying and none of my family being able to access or benefit from my bitcoin? My wife is fully aware of all my wallets, all my back ups, all my security, etc. Why would I want to keep that from her? If you are having so many doubts about your relationship that you think you need to keep a large part of your finances completely hidden, then you should have signed a prenup.
Unfortunately I don't think a prenuptial agreement is enough to protect your assets if you are wealthy and if your spouse meets an evil lover. If she knows all your backups and your security tricks, she won't even need to steal them herself, she will just need to explain it to his lover and he/they will be able to steal your funds when you're out. Moreover you can't be 100% sure she won't repeat all those critical things to anyone else, especially your children if you have any. I wouldn't recommend that, I agree with Wind_FURY, it's not safe. There are way safer things to do if you are concerning about your legacy or a memory loss.

import hashlib

def get_btc_checksum(address):
    """
    Compute the checksum of a Bitcoin address.

    Args:
    - address (str): The Bitcoin address.

    Returns:
    - str: The checksum of the Bitcoin address.
    """
    address = address.lower().encode('utf-8')
    sha256_hash = hashlib.sha256(address).hexdigest()
    ripe160_hash = hashlib.new('ripemd160', sha256_hash.encode('utf-8')).hexdigest()

    checksum = ''
    for i in range(len(ripe160_hash)):
        if ripe160_hash[i] in '123456789abcdef':
            checksum += ripe160_hash[i]
        else:
            checksum += str(ord(ripe160_hash[i]))

    return checksum

btc_address = '1H5aq8vssj9fCKdw2mYEn8enzpUMEBsUZ7'
print('The checksum of the address', btc_address, 'is:', get_btc_checksum(btc_address))

$ bx base58check-decode 1H5aq8vssj9fCKdw2mYEn8enzpUMEBsUZ7
> wrapper
{
    checksum 576710249
    payload b05fea8c3768f8fbb48f9c778bb36b91334cf7a1
    version 0
}

soit 225fe669 en hexadecimal (69e65f22)

$ bx base58-decode 1H5aq8vssj9fCKdw2mYEn8enzpUMEBsUZ7
> 00b05fea8c3768f8fbb48f9c778bb36b91334cf7a169e65f22

Ensuite quel algorithme suis-tu exactement?

Quote
To convert data (a number) into a Base58Check format, we first add a prefix to the data, called the "version byte," which serves to easily identify the type of data that is encoded. For example, in the case of a Bitcoin address the prefix is zero (0x00 in hex), whereas the prefix used when encoding a private key is 128 (0x80 in hex). A list of common version prefixes is shown in Base58Check version prefix and encoded result examples.

Next, we compute the "double-SHA" checksum, meaning we apply the SHA256 hash-algorithm twice on the previous result (prefix and data):

checksum = SHA256(SHA256(prefix+data))
From the resulting 32-byte hash (hash-of-a-hash), we take only the first four bytes. These four bytes serve as the error-checking code, or checksum. The checksum is concatenated (appended) to the end.

The result is composed of three items: a prefix, the data, and a checksum. This result is encoded using the Base58 alphabet described previously. Base58Check encoding: a Base58, versioned, and checksummed format for unambiguously encoding bitcoin data illustrates the Base58Check encoding process.

https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook/blob/develop/ch04.asciidoc#base58-and-base58check-encoding

We can't determine, nor debate, what can and what can't have value, or what actually has value, except for the market to accept "it" for the fair asking price. We also can't demand for those NFT transactions to be censored, because it would be a failure to Bitcoin's Ethos if it actually happens. I believe we just have to merely accept it, BUT we shall agree that the development of NFT in the Bitcoin blockchain is not pushing the boundaries of Science anymore. It's actually in the world of stupid. Censorship-resistant dick pics and fart sounds are stupid.
The ethos of Bitcoin is not anymore to be a usable decentralized mean of payment? If we can no longer send on-chain transactions with affordable mining fees for a random Earth inhabitant because of a new feature, I don't think this feature respect the ethos of Bitcoin. If only big mining farms can mine Bitcoin because of the size of the blockchain, I don't think that fits the ethos of Bitcoin. I may be wrong but I don't think Bitcoin has been initially designed to only being used by few rich westerners and mined by industrial factories. Bitcoin is already one of the most expensive cryptocurrency, we don't need to increase its cost of use.

bx ec-to-ek "my passphrase" just takes this seed from the pipe and encrypt it with the passphrase "my passphrase" through the BIP38 algorithm. https://github.com/libbitcoin/libbitcoin-explorer/wiki/bx-ec-to-ek

It's just an encryption of the seed with a password basically, and you can use your own 256bits seed instead of generating a new one. So when you will deciphering it using the opposite function bx ek-to-ec "my passphrase" you will get back your initial 256bits seed.

You can try it yourself buddy
Code:
$ bx seed -b 256
