bitcoinwisdom.com is down now, they give the infamous 502 Bad Gateway

any other place I can watch the walls of all exchanges?

Heyhey,

hope you all are hodling well. Lets discuss some fundamental price-driving factors again.
My eyes bleed from technical analysis bullshit (yet to see a rich technical analyst)..

- What are the tx-fees on Monero right now?
- How is the Darknet adoption?
- Are there any hardware-wallets coming in?
- Any progress on scaling?
- Any progress on bitcoin-compatible RPC API?
- How many Monero did the referee get from Real Madrid?

Anyone?

As far as hardware wallets Trezor mentioned they are only working on getting Trezor 2 to market right now. Ledger has already told the community they have Monero on their public roadmap. They are not even sure though if Nano S can handle Monero yet.
1583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 19, 2017, 11:14:07 PM
There could be more downside risk to XMR/BTC at Polo. If you take a look at the daily chart the StochRSI oscillator is headed down but not in oversold range yet. Possible double bottom set up at .0155. On the other hand price has stabilized at the 50% level from most recent swing low to swing high. Monero is working fine, fees are down after the recent hard fork, traders just need some more time to digest and dismiss the recent FUD.
1584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 18, 2017, 08:02:57 PM
Name a coin that is more private than Monero when used properly.
1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin SegWit will be activated in less than 11 days on: April 18, 2017, 05:35:25 PM
Litecoin never needed deadwit, all litecoin needs to explode into space, is for coinbase to get off their asses and have a direct LTC purchase.

After that , hang on it's going up.  Wink

 Cool

Just like Ether did when Coinbase added it to GDAX? Ether went down 70% in six months.
1586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin SegWit will be activated in less than 11 days on: April 18, 2017, 05:11:12 PM
As long as Jihan Wu has the ability to block SegWit activation on litecoin he will do everything in his power (because he can.) Buying litecoin now is a crapshoot. There are better coins in which to invest your money.
1587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: April 17, 2017, 10:35:22 PM
thanks @Kramerc, you have target for (3) ?

Here are some Fibonacci projections from most recent swing high to swing low:

and on a longer timeframe:

I would give more weight to the second chart.
1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scaling: Looks like all roads lead to LTC on: April 16, 2017, 05:46:54 PM
I believe some sort of moon is possible, but I feel like Jihan is planning something nasty. I think he calculated how much hashrate he needs to keep the segwit at around 75%, and then by the end of the signaling period, he has to raise it a for a short while to make the average <%75 and the whole signaling period is lost at a small cost for him.

Thoughts on this?

I think if Jihan keeps fucking around he will undermine investor's patience.

How are you storing BTC's worth of LTC btw? I guess you don't keep it in poloniex

Ledger Nano S offers cold storage for litecoin using their Chrome app. Trezor does also, but you have to use the Electrum-Ltc wallet with your Trezor.
1589  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [DISCUSSION] To Load or Not To Load on: April 15, 2017, 08:12:27 PM
I won't buy a funded cryptocoin. Titan e.g. has missed out on sales to me because they only sell funded. There are too many choice collectibles to choose from unloaded.
1590  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [DISCUSSION] To Load or Not To Load on: April 15, 2017, 07:20:12 PM
Loading a 2014 original, gold or silver Kialara would be a mistake. Not so much with the Signature Series, since they were designed to be disassembled and the torx driver provided.
1591  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How safe is blockchain online wallet? on: April 15, 2017, 04:25:20 PM
Ever since I ventured into the bitcoin world, i've been using the blockchain.info online wallet and it hasn't really been a pleasant ride. I have had several cases of my bitcoin being transferred to the wrong address. My most recent issue is my bitcoin simply vanishing... Not a trace! Not even in my transaction history.

I try to keep all my passwords hidden, enabled 2-factor authentication, and this still happens.

Is there something i'm doing wrong or is blockchain.info not just a secure wallet.

Has anybody experienced anything similar?

Sorry you have had a bad experience. Do not forget to consider using a hardware wallet. Your private keys are kept securely off line. I have never heard of anyone losing bitcoin who used a Trezor or Ledger Nano S wallet.
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 14, 2017, 07:18:28 PM
I'm surprised you are all so calm about the paper.

I think all the privacy concerns except one were made moot by the January 2017 RingCT hard fork. Have you taken a look at transactions using a Monero block explorer lately? Yes IP can possibly be linked to a transaction but that can be avoided easily using Tor or VPN and Kovri later this year will solve IP leakage permanently.
1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: YORK's price prediction topic. on: April 13, 2017, 08:13:19 PM
Monero is undervalued IMO because it is one of the few altcoins that offer something bitcoin does not ... fungibility. Hard forks are scheduled twice yearly for upgrades so no drama there. It is a fair coin whose price and market cap is being held back by just a couple problems. There is no Android wallet yet and no hardware wallet. You probably want to have some XMR in your portfolio before those problems are fixed.
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: another use case bites the dust (Open Bazaar) on: April 13, 2017, 05:38:59 PM
Open Bazaar was DOA because it required shop owners to run the client 24/7 for their store to be online and take orders.

the conclusion on this count ie after wave 5 may be right, but the count is wrong IMO on some aspects

Like what is decribed as a a wave '3' is actually a wave '5' after a wave 3 impulsive wave that corrected in a wave '4' triangle corrective pattern

like this one

Me too!
I also saw it on tradingview.
It looks like the bullish momentum is broken for now, we moved out of the zone in the second chart.
Consolidation or a downmove is coming next.
Really nice chart, simply beautifull

Problem as drawn and counted is impulse wave 3 of a five wave move up can not be shorter than wave 5 according to strict EW theory. If you look at a weekly chart on Bitstamp and try not to force an EW count it is more likely that we finished Wave 3 at the ATH with wave 5 still to come. That means we are probably in an extended Wave 4 correction. That count would put a hard bottom on the correction at the top of Wave 1 which I put at $779. The exuberance that accompanied the ATH would fit with what is normally seen with a Wave 3 top.
Thank you!

could you label it for us please?

On a chart?

and share?

Sure see https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/02ZSzuha-Bitcoin-Elliott-Wave-Count/

How high would the coming wave 5 be? What happens after that wave 5? A new count?

As it stands you can make some Fibonacci predictions using most recent swing high and low of $1474 to $1633 minimum for top of Wave 5.

Those predictions would be invalid if the swing low changes though. I have seen other predictions from analysts I trust for top of Wave 5 at $1800 to $2800. If price goes parabolic that could happen (or higher.) That's why you should never sell all your bitcoin keep some for the future. Problem is the hard fork standoff is keeping the price down.

After a Wave 5 you would get an ABC correction likely to region of $502 to $779. If you miss selling at the high (most do guilty here) there will almost certainly be a dead cat bounce (B wave) giving you a second chance to take profits.

1598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm a beginner, I want to start trading. What should i do? on: April 11, 2017, 11:32:34 PM
Hello to everyone!
Thanks for reading my thread. Any tips and advice will be appreciated.

I have 0.5BTC and I'm not going to invest them in some risky moola because I think that in 2030 Bitcoin's price will be almost 500.000€/BTC.
I've read that trading with Altcoins can be a good strategy of investing to make more capital and hold.

But I'm completely new in this world.

1) What should I start?
2) Which platform should I use?
3) How can I analyze the Altcoins?
4) Auto or Manual?
5) From 1-10 how much is risks in trading Altcoins?

Thanks for your answer. If you have any other tips, suggestion, its highly appreciated.

Well first of all good luck. But realize that no successful trader is going to hand over his or her techniques for entries and exits, stop losses and money management. They learned it the hard way in the trenches and often some expensive lessons learned. The best thing you can do is study the masters who have written books and trade on paper until you have proven to yourself you have a shot at making money. It will not be easy but you might have some fun. Trading is not for everyone. Day trading is pretty stressful so you might want to concentrate on medium to long term trades. Or not bother at all and just buy and hold bitcoin and perhaps a few altcoins like Monero which have real value as they offer something bitcoin can not.
1599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: April 11, 2017, 06:46:42 PM
Because bitcoin has been making higher lows but has not made a new ATH yet there is still a scenario where we revisit $800 which would validate one Elliott Wave count that Afrikoin has presented. A new ATH would invalidate that wave count and indicate that we are either in 3 or 5 depending on how you count your waves.

It looks like februari all over if you ask me. Oversold pump and a big dump afterwards. Pump to 1400-1500 USD and dup back to 1069 USD.

New guys need to learn patience with bitcoin and just hold for the long term. Right now everyone who bought under $1200 is in profit. It might have taken a few years depending on where you bought. Bitcoin will always have $250 to $300 down days where some news causes a one or two day crash which lets you buy at a good price. Calling bottoms is tough.
