Just installed OSX version.. new wallet.. is there an up-to-date bootstrap.dat available? When I check the link to the Linux 3.0 it points to .exe file? that can't be right for linux...?  There is not one but I can create one if you'd like (I am going to anyways  ). and that is my error thanks for pointing out if you check the release there is a compiled bitcoind but I must have copied the .exe instead of the link above. Switching links now to the zipped up now since some people want the qt i'm guessing as well. Thanks for your answer. I updated my wallet on windows and that is up-to-date with the blockchain. OSX was just a test, bootstrap would be nice, no rush Both on the OP here and on the website have/had the .exe link, I would love a precompiled Linux qt  Anytime glad to see your interest, let us know how you like the Wallet! I've got about 40+ connections on my wallet server and still notice a number of people never even upgraded to 2.0 from 1.3 which is OK.
BUT you will need to update to v3.0 this is a Hard Fork not a Soft Fork regardless if you are running 1.3 or 2.0.
There is Approx 26,000 Blocks to go before Protocol 80001 kicks in!

I also like the idea of something Counterparty-isque and /or a playable client right from the Casinocoin wallet but it would have to be an add on since some people may not want or can't use the wallet if it has gambling abilities built in.

well, bought in late last year, mined a fair amount and seen several false starts on plans for CSC and exchanges that wouldn't take CSC because of the intended us in gaming. About the time of the post you sent me to....I just put my holdings away in the wallet until something good happens.
I really jumped pretty hard on this coin at least for me.
Looks like something is brewing, hope its just a block reduction and not a coin swap 10 for 1....guess we'll see as devs are doing what they want.

there's no coin swap. It's a block reward reduction from 10 to 1 that should kick in about 4 - 6 weeks from now. So it's just a fork? We can keep our old coins? Correct, new version release that requires changes to the original specs requires the fork! Your coins will not be affected, if you had 1000 CSC you will still have 1000 after the fork. It is only the miners who will notice the difference dropping their reward from 10 CSC per block to 1 CSC! |

I never understood this as a gender swap coins, "take 10 CSC, and give-1 CSC" This only has to do, with the reduction of the reward to the miners. If until now for each block that you mine and/or you discover, you win 10CSC. From block No.1575000, each block that you discover you will only win 1CSC instead of 10CSC (as before ...) You can do the download of the new wallet and see the changes made here: https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/releases (you must follow the instructions and in my case, the wallet only worked well after I uninstall the previous version. DO NOT FORGET TO DO WALLET BACKUP) and have about 20 days to mine @10CSC/block (based on the number of blocks discovered every 24 hours, in the last days) The new wallet is in development. Not for public use yet. Wait for dev announcement. @Beachguy, its just a block reward reduction, no swap. Correct the development branch and 3.0.0 are still in development. Ajochems mentioned you can use the wallet but there may be some issues. Head on over to the Slack for more information regarding his release! and @beachguy Marec is right, just a reduction its not a "Stock Split." |

Will be interesting to see what happens to the hashrate if/when the reward gets reduced.
Currently it hovers around 2-4 Gh/s. If that is reduced by 1/10 it may be in the 200-400 Mh/s range. With about 3 BTC of buy support (as of now) it is probably too little for anyone to bother attacking but the potential is there. If there was a significant amount of buy support I would definitely be worried. It would be way too tempting for someone to pass up by doing a double spend attack.
I think people are asking about the reduction because it really hasn't been made clear if a decision has been made. From this thread it appears as it is still being considered/discussed but from the GitHub commits it seems as the people in control of the source intend to go forward with it.
It should also be taken into consideration the this coin does not having much use or function at the moment so people invested in it may not be following developments closely. I know how frustrating that situation can be for developers, etc but it is reality. I applaud the devs for their commitment and wish them the best of luck with this decision.
One nice thing about BTC is that I can invest in it and be assured that the specs of the coin will never change. I suppose that is one reason why so many BTC purists consider Alts worthless.
I also think it's very bold ... Maybe developers have more information than the information available to the public. Personally I think it was "safer" reduce the reward gradually (even if it was in one CSC / month). So we would enter in July, and if the roadmap Prypto is correct this time, would see a lot of network to give security. By reducing to 1 at once, and taking for example mining this point, and assuming that the CSC will reach $ 1USD that day will have about, 20Ghash mining. These values are easily rented, so you do fork ... and then I think we have problems ... But in about 22 ~ 27 days, when we get to the small block whichis 10 to 1, we find out what happens ... Hash rate will decrease sharply, but the coin should function normally. it's time to clip the wings from the auto-selling crowd. I agree, the risk of a double spend may exist but if you look at the hash rate of other coins on Coinwarz it is very possible with other alts as well. Considering the hash rate is at 2.5 gh atm anyone with the majority of that could attempt a double spend and in the grand scheme of things 2.5gh is still not a lot.. |

Andre will change it soon, it may take a day or so to fully change everything in the CSC-API since their API may have changed, if not it should be simple. we're testing a wallet build now. Yes I've got it as well, you should really join the slack! |

AlcurEX will move to new site today: halibit.. today new site will be open. im start to moving us to the new alcurex. this will take whole day and both sites may be offline some time. after all both site will leave open old site for withdraw delisted coins and new site for trading  halibit.. i will close all orders automatically and they will be balanced in accounts. halibit.. also delisted coins orders will be cancelled and balanced. halibit.. then i will move active markets to the new site and rest of coins can withdraw from this site. Love the new design I hope it helps the website gain some more trading volume it really does have a lot of potential. |

Can anyone help me my casino wallet, when I open it it seems to be running but can open main screen ??
Lets try a few things! -Use ALTTAB to switch to the off-screen application. -Press ALTSPACE to bring up the system menu (you won't see it because it is off screen) -Press R to select the "Restore" menu choice to ensure the windows isn't is maximized (you can not move it if it is maximized) -Press ALTSPACE again, then M to select the "Move" menu choice. -Press one of the arrow keys to initiate the movement. -Now just use the mouse to place the window where you want. -If you are using a non-english version of Windows, the "R" and "M" menu choices probably will be different. --For Windows 7 users: Win + Shift + Left or Right will move the selected window to the monitor in that direction. If that doesn't work please report back! |

This block reward decrease is mostly about eliminating the dilution and providing a 30 year incentive to continue mining. If we were to mint all coins within 3 years, miners would only participate with higher minimum transaction fees. Fees like that could cripple a coin before it gets off the ground.
"To extend the amount of time before relying on fee's to support the network." I like the sounds of that. Strangely enough we have been almost the entire day at about 2.5 - 3 GHash, .... i can not explain where that comes from at these low CSC market rates???
Myself included but I'm sure anyone who mines reads these forums and knows of the prospects for the future! Is anyone still mining here? I occasionally use my 280x but its just not powerful enough to be worth the stress on it. |

By reducing the reward to 1 CSC you are immediately and artificially increasing the value for current coin holders...myself included...but is that what we want? In the end unless services start to materialize it wont matter.
It also set's a bad precedence in manipulating the currency....just food for thought. I am not opposed to doing so but lets be clear about what is being done and why.
As a business owner I would be hesitant to utilize a currency that is manipulated in the way CSC has been. It already has gone through at least one changing of the rules on top of a "hostile" takeover so who's to say it wont again. I should probably not speak up as I don't want to spook any potential investors or business plans.
I mean who doesn't want the currency to go up in value? I actually do agree tho, we have already went through a hard fork to address the change in total coins which a direct manipulation of what transcoder setup in the original specs, but we felt it was needed. Did we make the right choice, I think so? Just hope people see the changes as an attempt to move forward and not an attempt to manipulate the value for only a little amount of time until people cash out.
For example...one could release a client that increases the reward to 100 and provide enough hashing power and nodes to make the change stick. That is the danger of a low hash rate...anyone can come in convinced enough people to agree and cause a fork if they so desired...it's how @casinocoin gained ownership from transcoder....but it is not a problem with just CSC...all coins with a low hashrate are in danger of such a thing.
Very possible, but that person has the hard task of convincing people to actually use their chain, and yes if you look at coinwarz the avg hashrate for scrypt coins is around 1-3gh. Transcoder also disappeared and I did not want my original investments to disappear along with Casinocoin!
I would say....decide on making whatever changes once and for all. Weigh the benefits of staying with a 30 second blocktime (bloat) vs 60 seconds. Consider whatever diff algo is necessary...figure out if AuxPOW is the way to go to ensure the blockchain is secure with enough hashing power to thwart an attack (it will happen if the coin starts to see real value), decide on the mining reward structure, etc.
We do need to realize that if CSC does really take off AuxPOW will benefit us from attacks, I'm going to create an additional channel over at the Slack to document this update and ensure there is a general consensus on what is being changed.
