The only thing not implemented is FIAT... and that's because we're STILL waiting on Moolah Sad.

Sad   Being on /r/Dogecoin/ for a while, I have come to love Moolah, have a lot of trust and respect for the guy, he deals with a ton of BS, but I think he has more projects than he can handle sometimes.  Which is one thing when doing things for yourself/your own company, but when trying to partner up, *sigh*.. I just can't wait to see how everything will work out and am hopeful Smiley

Hi guys.

As you know, Vericoin community took part in our voting on Hitbtc exchange.
You may have found out already, that we are helping different coins to create their mascots, like we did for NXT and Monero. We have a lot of imaginative and creative people in our team and we'd love to create a character for your coin too. But when deciding on who or what to draw we couldn't make up our minds. Instead, we chose to turn to you for help: please, give us an idea, and we will happily create your hero with you!

I say no mascot and that this is a horrible dumb idea, this coin is serious business

...or go with what someone had on that promo poster before, have "V" be our mascot

But like, more cuter and more family friendly

A warning, the following link is Vericoin related, and though no actual nipples can be seen, I would go ahead and say that this is NSFW.  Enjoy

Does anyone know who is in charge of the Reddit Tip Bot?

http://www.reddit.com/r/vericoin/comments/29cnsr/hello_i_am_your_new_reddit_tipbot/

As well as who is behind the Twitter Tip Bot?

( EDIT: Is it http://www.reddit.com/user/UnekPL the person who made the Twitter Tip Bot, also the same person behind the Blackcoin Tip Bot? )

Thanks.

Currently in 15th place on http://www.coingecko.com/ (has risen a few spots since I started tracking it on this site within the past week)

1. Make a backup of your wallet.dat. It will be in your AppData/Roaming/VeriCoin directory.

2. Erase everything in that directory except the wallet.dat file.

3. re-install the VeriCoin wallet.

That should fix the problem. Just be sure to back up that wallet.dat file first incase something goes wrong.

Though not finished synching yet (currently 55.5% done), I am missing quite a bit of Vericoin.

Nothing is in the Spendable, nothing is in Stake, Unconfirmed is showing less than half of the Vericoin I did have before.   Interestingly though, in my "Transactions" tab, it is showing all the amounts I have deposited to my wallet.   If one of the devs can check my posts, I mean, I guess after the wallet syncs completely everything will show up, or I'm hoping right now.  Just going by what is showing in Uncofirmed though, it is definitely not the total that should be there.

im running win 7 without problems
I'm a billion percent sure it's because I switched the hard drive to a different laptop, I should have backed up things beforehand, my own bad.

Thanks btw, hopefully a fresh install will do it, may wait for more replies if there is anything else I could/should do.

Kind of having a bad situation right now, switched laptops I was using, but having the same hard drive.  I go to start up Vericoin and get this

when I click retry I get this

Then it goes to this

Is there a wallet.dat I can pull from anywhere and just reinstall the program or what can I do?

Running Windows 7

Old Dwolla news articles are neat.

Quote
As Dwolla grows, one of the areas in which the company will have to invest is conflict resolution, or what happens if merchant A fails to ship a product to customer B, who refuses to pay. To date, Milne said that this hasn't been a problem, in part because the small number of customers itself restricts the number of potential problems.

"There have been a lot of discussions with a third party who would assure transactions," Milne said. "Right now we go to the authorities" and let them investigate any disputes, he said.

Dwolla has applications for brick-and-mortar businesses, too: a Des Moines restaurant called Mars Café is using the program as part of a new in-store payment system. Customers can pay by logging into their Dwolla account on their smart phone and sending the money instantly to the merchant—all from their phone, and all without cash, checks or credit cards.

I'm sure someone here will be contacting the Mars Cafe to turn them to Bitcoin now

Why could Dwolla be BIG?
There is no internet version of cash like there is a retail environment. There is no unified way to electronically exchange funds for consumers/businesses that bypass the traditional interchange fee. We built a solution to a $40B+ dollar problem.

“When we started, I was kind of naive,” said Milne. “I just called up the regulators and asked how we should do this. Luckily they didn’t shut us down. So yeah, we have a good dialogue going on with Federal Reserve.

I have a possible sale for one of your products with a friend of mine, but he wants to know how shipping is done.  He is not a fan of Silk Road or anything of that nature, and I explained your services are quite different.  Could you give an example of how a person would receive a product?   Would it seem from a business?  Wrapped in something?
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Litecoin Development Club on: February 10, 2012, 03:40:19 AM
Basically, I think we can take something like reddit, which is open source and modify it so that upvotes are awarded something like 0.01LTC. Your karma count is remembered, but you get 1LTC for every 100 karma. Essentially this is the birth of social mining.

I would suggest talking with https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=338 who made Witcoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5757.0 which I did not really check out until it was too late and user base along with other things were taking the site down.  But mizery I would feel has more experience than most users in this very specific idea, worth shooting a PM.  Even if not into Litecoin, mizery is one of the most level headed users I have see on this board, so I can see at least seeing getting a decent opinion on this subject, like if it would be worth trying at all.
177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Search Bitcoin on: February 09, 2012, 07:24:52 PM
Bitcoin does not move as fast as the rest of life, hard to keep up properly with projects when other facets of life need to be attended to as well.  You have given so much man, I hope the Tradehill guys see this post, I like a lot of the entities within Bitcoin they get, I'm sure they would be able to use some of the things you have done with Bitcoin.com.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Litecoin Development Club on: February 09, 2012, 07:20:25 PM
As someone who loves and implements the java technology, the use with Litecoin especially is there.   Random traffic and hashes add up.

I had the operator of a large forum let a Bitcoin script run for just a couple of hours a long time ago, I think I had him use Bitp.it at the time, I have seen the usefulness.  Just be honest with your users, do not hide the fact that they are mining for whatever purpose.

I was going to do a full flash game site one time but no longer have that spare time, there is plenty of opportunities for people to take on.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LiteJack21 Blackjack? on: February 09, 2012, 01:40:45 PM
So if you contribute what does that give ya ?
The ability to start up the game and have funds available for the community to play with, also one of them warm fuzzy feelings.

I agree with StewartJ where I can see some aspects of Litecoin starting up could be little things like games and having fun with the coins.   Put me down for 10 more, total of 20, I want nothing in return but to see that I can play a few Black Jack games on your site with ltc.   Andrew, what is a target amount to have this start up?
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin (solo)-miners?! Come to Litecoin P2Pool!! A new promotion is coming! on: February 08, 2012, 11:55:45 AM
is there a guide for windows how to set up litecoin p2pool?

From ThiagoCMC's guide thread is a link, Step by precious step guide for P2Pool mining on Windows 7 by Holliday
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=18313.msg712967#msg712967 which on a quick glance looks like it would easily apply to Litecoin as well, but I can't say for sure.

In an attempt to help complete noobs, like myself, I've written a hopefully foolproof guide. Please look over this and inform me of any mistakes I've made. If anyone tries this and fails, please let me know what didn't work.

Step by precious step guide for P2Pool mining on Windows 7.

1. Download Bitcoin - http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.5.2/bitcoin-0.5.2-win32-setup.exe/download

2. Download P2Pool - http://u.forre.st/u/lqibuhzg/p2pool_win32_79cd2c5.zip

3. Download cgminer - http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/cgminer-2.2.3-win32.zip

4. Install Bitcoin. Start Bitcoin (if windows asks to Allow Access, choose yes) and wait for it to download the full block chain. Here is a current block count - http://blockexplorer.com/q/getblockcount

5. a. Go into Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options > View >  uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types'" (or leave it unchecked if it already is).

    b. While you are there choose: Show hidden files, folders, and drives. (or leave it selected)

    c. Click OK.

6. Browse to C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin. (YourUserName will be whatever you entered when you installed windows.)

7. Right click in the folder and choose: New > Text Document. Delete the entire name (including .txt) and type the following: bitcoin.conf (hit enter, then click yes)

8. a. Right click on the bitcoin.conf file and choose edit.

   b. If edit is not available, choose open. Then choose: Select a program from a list of installed programs. Click OK. Double click Notepad.

   c.  i. Once you have the file open and ready to edit type: rpcuser=user (hit enter), rpcpassword=password (hit enter), server=1 (don't type stuff in parenthesis, actually do it, don't type commas)

ii. Or copy and past this into the file

          rpcuser=user
          rpcpassword=password
          server=1

   d. Click file in the top left corner and choose save.

   e. After doing this, close and restart Bitcoin.

9. Forward port 9333. (Optional, helps with finding additional peers.)

10. Extract p2pool from p2pool_win32_592ceea.zip. (Desktop is a great place to extract this folder.)

11. a. Open the p2pool folder, right click run_p2pool.exe and select create shortcut.

     b. Right click the new shortcut and choose properties. Click in the "target" box and move the cursor to the far right. Put a space after run_p2pool.exe and type: user password

     c. Click OK.

12. Double click the p2pool short cut. This will start P2Pool. Let it run. (If windows asks you to Allow Access, choose yes)

13. Extract cgminer from cgminer-2.2.1-win32.zip. (Desktop is a great place to extract this folder.)

14. a. Open the cgminer folder, right click cgminer.exe and select create shortcut.

     b. Right click the new shortcut and choose properties. Click in the "target" box and move the cursor to the far right. Put a space after cgminer.exe and type: -o http://127.0.0.1:9332 -u noob -p sauce

     c. Click OK.

15. Double click the cgminer shortcut. This will start cgminer. If you've done everything correctly you should be mining on P2Pool!

(You should change "user" to any username you like and "password" to any password you like (strong passwords are nice). This will help with security. Be sure to change it both times you are required to type it!)

(I will add how to use bitcoind to this later, because the GUI tends to crash)

OK, to use bitcoind instead of the GUI, do the following.

1. a. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\daemon

    b. Right click on bitcoind.exe and select create shortcut.

    c. Right click on the new shortcut and choose properties. Click in the "target" box and move the cursor to the far right. Put a space after bitcoind.exe" and type: -rpcuser=user -rpcpassword=password

2. If Bitcoin-qt is still running, close it and then use the shortcut you've just created to start bitcoind. You should once again be mining on P2Pool.

(Again, if you've changed "user" and "password" be sure to use the correct info here.)
