161  Other / Meta / Re: This forum will need explicit rules on the use of AI. on: January 03, 2023, 02:56:45 PM
I also think that forums will be affected by growing popularity of AI and chatgpt. Especially a forum like bitcointalk where users are rewarded for posts if they are in signature campaign. Some people will try to game the system. There can be arrangements made to combat this but it will be huge load on forum staff and resources.

Can't wait when purely AI account reach high Position (rank) and would be accepted into a signature campaign. It would be one small step for an account, one giant leap for AI.

And seriously, we should start thinking about it as about realistic scenario - 10 years ago the discussion we have now have been seen as an abstract academic dispute without any relation to real life.

Co myslec o twitterowych analizo grafikach ?

Rozpoznaja bliski poczatek hossy rakiety.
https://twitter.com/AurelienOhayon

164  Economy / Service Discussion / Hackers steal $8 million from users running trojanized BitKeep apps on: December 31, 2022, 04:40:12 PM
Anyone using BitKeep?

Multiple BitKeep crypto wallet users reported that their wallets were emptied during Christmas after hackers triggered transactions that didn't require verification. Company confirmed the problem and linked it to 'unofficial' version of program:

Quote
Dear BitKeep users, after preliminary investigation by the team, it is suspected that some APK package downloads have been hijacked by hackers and installed with code implanted by hackers. If your funds are stolen, the application you download or update may be an unknown version (unofficial release version) hijacked.
Now for the safety of user funds, if you downloaded the APK version, please transfer the funds to the wallet downloaded from another official store (App Store or Google Play). In addition, it is recommended to use the newly created wallet address, the address you created through apk may be leaked to hackers.

Anyway - whatever you use, always make some effort to ensure you use the original program, not a hacked copy!

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SlowMist: Investigation of North Korean APT’s Large-Scale Phishing Attack on NFT on: December 31, 2022, 04:37:28 PM
Some of you maybe heard about news which were published first on September; Twitter user PhantomXSec tweeted that the North Korean APT group were responsible for crypto and NFT phishing campaigns targeting dozens of ETH and SOL projects. PhantomXsec provided information on 196 phishing domain names that were linked to North Korean hackers after a thorough analysis.

Now I invite you to read a comprehensive analysis of that event - if you are interested in security and want to know how that kind of attack is created, read more on https://slowmist.medium.com/slowmist-our-in-depth-investigation-of-north-korean-apts-large-scale-phishing-attack-on-nft-users-362117600519

166  Other / Meta / Re: Thread new (unread post) notification - strange behavior on: December 31, 2022, 04:33:43 PM
Until recently all was OK, if there was more than 1 page, I had to go to the end to have topic marked as 'read' (unbold) and then new post triggered email.
As far as I can remember, it has been never like this.
For marking a thread as read, you can open any of its pages and it has been always worked in this way.

Really? I have no idea why I have impression that now I receive more emails - for topics which statuses I did not update.
Anyway, I will observe that, maybe indeed I am wrong.
167  Other / Meta / Thread new (unread post) notification - strange behavior on: December 31, 2022, 12:25:04 PM
Hello

Was there any chance recently for the process how notifications are triggered?
There is a topic, I send my post, from that moment topic is 'subscribed' and new post triggers notification (email). Until recently all was OK, if there was more than 1 page, I had to go to the end to have topic marked as 'read' (unbold) and then new post triggered email.
What I see now is that even if new post is on the page 5th, I do not read that post because I open only page 1, when I reload board page topic is marked as read (normal, not bold) and any new post triggers email.

I really do not think it was like that before.

His results were good, indeed, but any comparison sats<->tickets has not much sense, as you may only spend your sats to buy tickets. Maybe one day we would have an option to sell GT or lottery tickets, I believe even with the price 1/2 or 1/5 many people would be interested in that.

I don't think the Freebitcoin team would ever add the option of allowing users to sell golden and weekly tickets because that would negatively affect the profit of the project. Moreover, participating in lotteries on the site would become hopeless for many users because the whales would be able to buy a huge number of tickets for cheap, thus increasing their chances of winning both the weekly lottery and the Lambo lottery.
it might push brokers to buy and sell there and reduce freebitcoin's profits and also the option will create loopholes for fraud, so I don't think freebitcoin will really think that far as using the option for all users to buy and sell lottery tickets while everyone can buy it easy at the price of 1 satoshi per 1 lottery ticket

I was thinking about buying back by freebitco, not by other users, as it would be too complicated- to implement a ‘market’ etc. Just a simple ‘sell’, symmetrical to ‘buy’ we have for lottery and GT.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [INFO/DISCUSSION] Cubit - your personal controlnode by Nabi on: December 30, 2022, 09:56:21 AM
I am not sure if it is a production-ready project, looks interesting (and really nice) but I guess for most of geeks it would be too expensive comparing to own-build node on Pi or even on Intel NUC.
But you are right, I like the design and the fact that all should work out-of-box, so I will follow the project. Price? Availability?
170  Economy / Goods / Re: Anyone knows If i can sell my car with crypto ? on: December 30, 2022, 09:06:42 AM
Maybe OP should contact guys from https://bitcars.eu/ Looks like they are in business for years and they know what is the procedure and what to do.
Of course the question is how to avoid paying tax when you sell BTC to FIAT, but I think any tax advisor or accountant may help.

This is a good earn with only 44 WoF you can get 5K satoshi and 1 Golden Ticket which is worth 25,000 Satoshi, you will rarely find you can get GT on WoF as well as 5K Satoshi.

His results were good, indeed, but any comparison sats<->tickets has not much sense, as you may only spend your sats to buy tickets. Maybe one day we would have an option to sell GT or lottery tickets, I believe even with the price 1/2 or 1/5 many people would be interested in that.
172  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Lottery players here? Pick 2, Cash 3, Cash 4, Pick 5 numbers in particular. on: December 29, 2022, 07:11:59 PM
The main thing is that each time the result is “independent”, there is no memory. Therefore there is no “justice”, past results has no impact on the future one.
You may do statistical analysis, you may believe in “systems”, you may prefer odd or even numbers - all that is just a looking for a patterns where there are no patterns.
Yes, it is interesting to see how many times number 7 was selected in the last 10 years, but it has nothing to do with the predictions.
173  Local / Alternatywne kryptowaluty / Re: ETH on: December 29, 2022, 12:24:07 PM
ETHW... to chyba nikt znany.

174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 29, 2022, 11:07:43 AM
And luckily, I don't have a gambling addiction now because I got over it a few years ago. And now, if I want to gamble, I can immediately gamble by depositing some money and stopping whenever I want.

It reminds me that scene from "Coffee and Cigarettes" movie, the one with Iggy Pop and Tom Waits, and discussion about smoking:
"You know, the beauty of quitting is... now that I've quit, I can have one. Cause I've quit."

It's an issue I've only seen a couple of times before but only when using automation. This is the first report in our 9 years of someone being able to place bets manually faster than their browser can keep up with.

Hehe, people are evolving, years of practice in video games... Or maybe browser is slow - does it matter if connection is slow (or using VPN)?
I guess forcing synchronization would slow the whole process a lot.

Fast yeah, other than fingers and keyboard NO, if I knew that a video of me pressing the keys would do anything I would record, but nothing is going to be enough .

It certainly gives the impression of being automated. I apologise if you really are crazy enough to hammer away at the keyboard that quickly.

I have finally managed to replicate the decimal issue.
(...)
Make sure that the multiplier displayed matches the keystrokes you entered before rolling. Give your display time to catch up with your requests.

That's great that issue has been confirmed and there is a way how to solve/avoid it.
What could be interesting for other forum members: guys, @TheQuin is not a machine nor an a**hole behind freebitco, who would keep talking you are wrong and freebitco is always right. We all are here to be sure the process is fair and that playing here makes sense.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 29, 2022, 08:55:46 AM

My biggest motives are escapism and having fun. I don't gamble to make big money. This is simply delusional.

I agree with that. What gambling gives is a instant (and quote easy accessible) portion of adrenaline and fun. You win or not, you always receive emotions. And saying 'I like it' most of us just like an adrenaline kick. Gambling is quite easy way to get it, without too much involvement (like in car/moto racing, parachuting, or any other x-sports).
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ultimate list of crypto Gambling sites that offers investment in the bankroll on: December 28, 2022, 04:23:44 PM
Freebitco could be used as a kind of „saving account”, as they pay daily if you keep at least 30k sats. Buying and holding their token (FUN) you may increase the rate, the base one is  4.49%
179  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 28, 2022, 09:29:01 AM
The issue seems to be related to using keyboard shortcuts. If you use shortcuts to change the odds it will be possible to generate a number with 15 decimal places. Even though the corrected odds are rolled on FreeBitco.in's server and recorded in the database, the incorrect number is displayed locally in the user's roll history.

Apart of fact if "bug" is on your script side or on server side, when you mention something is shown in the user's history you must take into account fact that history could be displayed:
a) directly from browser action (new actions)
b) retrieved from the server (old actions)

You probably think about records displayed directly - wait some time and see if the same records retrieved from server look the same.
180  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin public keys on: December 28, 2022, 09:22:32 AM
RSZ thing is related to the signed transaction, it has nothing to do with the public key itself.
What do you mean by "public keys of the wallet"? Do you talk about public keys derived from the one master private key using one of derivation path?
