161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] *ICO* BreakoutCoin | Bergstake | Gaming Platform | Marketing on: October 03, 2014, 04:30:28 AM
The team looks very impressive. I have a question relating to distribution. If I understand correctly, of the 14m coins at launch, the team will control 9.5m of them. Why is so much of the supply needed for development + giveaways?

Jackfruit, thanks for the question and it is something we need to address immediately.  The size of the project is International in scope, we hope to compete with some of the larger traditional gaming companies out there today.

In order to recruit top talent, we had to sell them our story and persuade our team that crypto coins were the way of the future.  There are over 40 members at this time that need to compensated with BRO coins, and you can imagine how difficult is is to convince intelligent people to accept computer code instead of cash.  I'm sure you can imagine what the conversation would sound like, I'm sure you've had similar situations with your friends and family.

However, we were able to sell our story to these top executives, celebrities and artists to join our team with nothing but BRO coins and a dream.  Every member of our team believes strongly in our project as well as in the future of cryptocurrencies.  We are all totally committed to make BRO a tremendous success story.

2.5million will be distributed to developers, celebrities, artists, executives. investors, etc...

7million coins will be held strictly in a public wallet.  Breakout Gaming will never have any right to a single coin outside of distribution.  The schedule has already been detailed and outlined in the breakoutcoin.com site.  These coins will be used for referrals, player bonuses, etc.. The goal is to spread the coins to a wide and diverse group of people all over the world, using marketing strategies normally used only by large corporations.  In time, these players will be the second, third, fourth wave of investors.  Providing liquidity for investors, something not yet seen in the crypto world.

Thanks for your detailed reply!

Was this a ninja launch or not? And why/why not?
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sativacoin | STV | X-13 | NINJA LAUNCH on: September 23, 2014, 03:23:56 AM
Thanks dev for updating the ann post to include the 9 blocks that were mined before this thread was posted. Good move.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sativacoin | STV | X-13 | NINJA LAUNCH on: September 22, 2014, 11:35:11 PM
There wasn't any substantial instamine. Let's be realistic, 9 blocks just does not matter at all, and the first blocks on a coin will always be mined in less than a few seconds. Even if the developer is using even a single GPU to start the blockchain, that's what you'll see. That's not an "instamine" by any stretch of the imagination though.

For reference, I saw the announcement thread and had the wallet compiled by block 93, with the first block found on our pool at block 110. (All blocks for every coin are viewable on my pool, if you're curious to see the early blocks we mined. Just check https://www.ipominer.com/stats?curr=stv and click "All Blocks Found - STV" at the bottom of the block list, then go to the last page.)

(Which, if you don't read code, says that all blocks under block 7200 have the same reward of 927 STV.)

Thanks..I saw the info in the wallet and I can read the code. I agree that 9 blocks isn't substantial...it is weird tho and I'm just trying to understand what happened here and why there were blocks mined before this ann was posted.

and i explained it to you

Well...I dont have a full explanation at all...seems like the first thread was posted at 3:19 PM forum time and removed by 3:21 PM...then first 9 blocks mined starting at 4:09 PM forum time and then this ann post at 4:40 PM forum time. Now I agree that 9 blocks isnt a lot, but I still dont understand what took place here.

BTW I did see the post just now that was deleted (It was a post by demoniality showing multiple deleted messages).

Can anyone view the first block here? http://176.31.30.94/block/0000002e04d5be12da7c8cd3adac44793b48f9e335e72a3a9d24fda72c8fb055

It gives me a server error when I try to view it. What time was it mined?

use the wallet there you see it

Thanks...I see that now and seems block 1 was mined just before block 2 as expected.

It's a great looking wallet, nice job on that and good luck with your project.

This thread is moderated to hell. I keep seeing post disappear like crazy.

My questions are still there though.

i remember yesterday 2nd or 3post was posted by a user who copied the getmininginfo and i dont know but it was less than 10 blocks after users join in

wasnt instamined

I have to take your word, since I did not see the original thread yesterday...but if you look at that thread, there is no getmininginfo...did that poster delete it?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791197.msg8913614#msg8913614

EDIT you mean this current thread? I see the getinfo in this thread..and it matches with the block explorer. Its a bit weird since 8 blocks were mined within a minute, then the next one was 30 mins later.

EDIT2..It's almost like the person mining stopped after mining the first 9 blocks then waited for this ann to be posted to continue mining.

oh it was the current thread my fail sorry

but where is the problem..9 blocks instamine??i saw some on twitter but i dont know whats going on right now

Just trying to figure out why there were blocks mined before the posting of this thread.

EDIT... Can anyone see the first block using the block explorer? If so what time was the first block? I get a server error message when I try to view it.

Thanks for your reply... I see the original thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791197.msg8913614#msg8913614 Were mining details posted in the original post? From the first reply 2 minutes after the original post, it seems that the details were already removed?

i remove all details so google dont use that one, i hate threads where you have to jump from thread to thread

When were the details removed?..because it seems in that thread that the details were removed before the first comment 2 mins after the post.

Guys, we did NOT run away with your money. We are still here and working on some new exciting stuff, an in-wallet shop is coming our way, that's almost finished.
We will also have an EasySend type feature and one more surprise that i can't reveal right now. Hold tight and please give us some time. Things are coming.

Dev needs to keep up the show for another day or so, for c-cex to give him the btc..then he's gone.

178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GRE] GreenCoin | Merged Mining Soon! on: September 17, 2014, 09:13:16 PM
Another question, is there a address for the foundation's GRE funds?

Yes, and it is mentioned in the OP.

The coins for those payoffs come from GreenCoin's splitting algorithm, which sends 50% of every block to a central address, GZdib7W1cxd2VaEfYAw4ppe6dXhkhbScE2, which is then sent automatically to verified renewable energy producers at the end of each business day.

Note that this address is found in every coinbase transaction, and is hard coded into the source.

Thanks!

Thanks for the helpful replies. Is this the same greencoin mentioned in this article? http://www.greenbankcapitalinc.com/press-releases/greenbank-acquires-greencoin-cryptocurrency-software/

No.....that's something different.

Thanks  Wink
