One of our fans (MeneerT on bitcointalk) is organizing a video contest that will be funded from the undistributed funds.
Here are the rules:
Post a video about the unique features of Byteball you like the most. The best 2 videos receive rewards: $500 in Bytes for the best, $250 in Bytes for the second best.
You need to write in the title Byteball (so that we are able to find your video). Write your Byteball address in the description box of the video (so that we are able to send your bytes easily). Your video is new and at least 90 seconds long. The video must be uploaded from today to 1 May inclusive, and the link to the video must posted at least here or in #video_competition channel on slack.
Then, the community on slack, bitcointalk, and telegram will say which videos they like the most. Based on that and MeneerT's own preference he will make a selection of the best 5 videos and thereafter the community fund's trustees will take the final decision about the best 2.
The winners will be announced on May 7.

HI I get this string from oracle bot. how can I claim the funds? I guess you are exchanging BTC for Bytes using smart contract described here https://medium.com/byteball/making-p2p-great-again-episode-ii-bitcoin-exchange-d98adfbde2a5. If so, switch to the smart contract that has the Bytes locked, navigate to the Send tab, and paste this long string into "Merkle proof" field.

Idea For A Sustainable Alternative To The Signature Campaign To Airdrop Remaining BytesI have been following Byteball for some time and I think the end of free coins just by holding the balance was the right decision. However, I do not like the new way to award coins for posts via a signature campaign. Apart from the fact that the benefit to the project should be limited, users who have high levels and probably already own Bytes are preferred. To get new users -- which should be the goal -- this way is rather not sustainable. So I have another suggestion where everyone can participate and do something good. I have long been an active member of WorldCommunityGrid where you can leverage your free computing power for meaningful projects and research, e.g. fighting cancer and diseases, and other important things. The software of WorldCommunityGrid named BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is quick and easy to install (all major operating systems and mobile phones are supported). Anyone can set up the software in a few minutes and contribute processing power. My idea: why do not we start a WorldCommunityGrid (WCG) Byteball team. For calculating small tasks, participants receive WCG points automatically. Via a Byteball bot, members can connect their Byteball address with their WCG username, and then receive free bytes from the bot - say, once a week - depending on the amount of WCG points earned. WCG provides a simple API with which the data can be read into the Byteball DAG via an oracle. The effort is not big. In principle, only the bot would have to be written. I would have liked to set the task, but unfortunately I'm not a great NodeJs programmer. If possible, the bot could also accept donations, so that the campaign could also be supported by donations and not only by the remaining bytes to be distributed. I would give a donation myself. Do good and get bytes! What do you think about the idea? This is a great idea! We'll do it.

A new ICO on BB Platform : Worldopoly Worldopoly is the world’s first mobile game combining AR, AI, Geolocationing, Blockchain, and DAG. The ICO is active until 17 May 2018, and you can buy WPT tokens with Bytes, BTC, or Ether. WPT token is issued both on Byteball and Ethereum platforms but investors on Byteball platform receive increased bonus (even if they pay in ETH or BTC) for investments up to 30 ETH. Website and all ICO details: https://worldopoly.ioThis is a Swiss company. Wordopoly ICO Bot is already added to the Bot Store.

How long will Byteball campaign last, tonych? Have you had plan for ending time of Byteball signature campaign? I hope that I can support Byteball through signature campaign as long as possible, might be years (just my hope). I found the project by chance, spent a lot of time to discover ideas and platforms, technical solutions behind the project and its services. Honestly, this one is one of the most interesting project I have ever seen since the day I joined the forum more than 6 months ago. The signature campaign is planned for 4 weeks.

I've suggested it before (and I'm not sure if you've seen it): how about an airdrop to existing Bitcointalk user accounts? You risk airdropping on account farmers, but if it's related to Merit received and account Rank, you can exclude many spammers.
That would be fine if it could be automated.

Is there a way to detect the IP address of the user and block it once the bot has been used once? It would be an additional layer to discourage the serial test-takers (not that it can't be worked around). We don't know their IP. User information provided by telegram is pretty minimal https://core.telegram.org/bots/api#user

About 500 users have passed the quiz since launch (despite frequent offs due to bugs, running out of money, running out of daily quota, etc) but I observe some share of fraud too. It is not very large but concerning. To reduce the incentive for fraud, the reward will now be reduced to $2.50. Unfortunately we are getting more cheaters. Starting now, the reward is further reduced to $0.35. could you please tell us how you find the cheaters. if i remember it right you wrote that because telegram needs a phonenumber you found a way to reduce cheating. is there a way to use telegram with fake phonenumbers? or how did they cheat you? I see that multiple textcoins are claimed to the same address. They probably buy telegram accounts or virtual phone numbers.

I have passed the quiz. It's eye-opening and funny. It might take out most of us at the same time. The only disapointment was from the bot final message . "There was an error while trying to send your textcoin. We'll automatically retry until the textcoin is sent." Got it! I would like to know if we have any statistics on distribution via telegram bot showing that this method is more effective than the earlier one. Track this address which distributes the rewards https://explorer.byteball.org/#XPOQYAPM5NDYTVRV763C2G557GMKRZXL

Maybe what you should do is ask users to pay $8 worth of byteball to take the quiz, then if they successfully complete it you'll send them $20 worth of byteball back Clever enough but unlike jumio there is no cost associated with running the quiz.
