looking good so far, but not much volume, maybe tomorrow ?

[edit] that's BTC/EUR, not very significant anyway, BTC/$ looks different

When is this blizzard on the chart going to let up? It's been going on for a month and is giving me lag.

... and back on ignore you go. You've got serious issues, bro.

FYI there is a "Show/Hide" button on the right of ignored posts so you don't have to Unignore members for a dirty peek on a hidden message.

I know you know it, but anyway ...

lol - no. Did I say something that stupid ?

No Segwit, no secure lightning network. It can work without the malleability fix but it's a lot frillier without it.

Haa ha! I learned something today - thanx.
Soulda read the specs though, but I was too lazy up to day.

[edit] : Gave it a 2nd thought. I can keep my stash in Legacy addr, and move a few % of it to Segwit addr for LN to take care of it. So its a matter of balance between things.
164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 01, 2018, 01:21:01 PM
So you moved your coins to a Segwit addr because LN will be released shortly ?
You wrote that implying there is a connection between the two things, but I don't see where.

Have you bought this account recently?

lol - no. Did I say something that stupid ?
165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 01, 2018, 11:57:49 AM
Made the move to segwit today.
Decided to move all my BTC to a Segwit address. Have a feeling that LN will be released to the wild shortly.
No source just a gut feel.

I'd rather pay 200K for a Vanuatuan passport and a 1-way ticket.

Yeah, well, I ain't gonna fight the IRS on what they are due. That's just a bad time right there and too much stress.

I'm a proud, patriotic American Citizen.

Fuck you.

It's less stressful, possibly overpaying on quarterly taxes, than needing to stress about the prospect of a FUCKING MASSIVE bill due on April 15th of you didn't play by the rules.

Trust me. Having to deal with a FUCKING MASSIVE payment on April 15th is much more painful than making "very healthy" payments, quarterly, to the IRS.

It drives my partner crazy - that I round up to the nearest quarter-thousand when it comes to paying taxes - but I've been on the other side of owing FUCKING MASSIVE back taxes, and that's not something I ever want to deal with again in my lifetime.

I can feel your pain.
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 31, 2017, 05:18:31 PM

kinda off topic

but anyone have an idea on what kind of transaction fee I'd get hit on for a $1,634.00 BTC transaction?

thanks....trying to guess

use this : https://estimatefee.com/

Transaction fees do not depend on the quantity of BTC you send, they depend on the size of the transaction you make, that is, the number of addresses your wallet need to collect to gather the funds you want to send.

So no one can answer your question. If your wallet is very fragmented, it's gonna cost you a kidney.

I could have sworn I saw a "Who sold at the bottom?" post a little while ago!

 Who sold at the bottom?

BobLawblaw said that, I swear.

Rançon payée pour libérer le patron de EXMO = 1 millions (4700 BTC).

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-29/bitcoin-exchange-ceo-released-after-paying-1-million-ransom

Heu non, 4700 BTC ça fait pas 1 million d'€ ni de $

someone should do a graphical statistical analysis of the apparition of trolls versus the bitcoin corrections.
172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 30, 2017, 02:42:04 PM

not much of a problem yet.

Well .... I am really pessimistic right now.

There is tons of new money flowing into crypto but apparently Bitcoin is still falling and falling.

when in doubt, watch this for a little while : http://money.visualcapitalist.com/worlds-money-markets-one-visualization-2017/

You're intuition is spot on.

Also, power prices in Germany (and other Euro countries) going negative? So why aren't more Bitcoin miners setting up shop there?
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/25/business/energy-environment/germany-electricity-negative-prices.html

Warmist propaganda.
Germany has one of the highest price of electricity in Europe

I tell you guys what.

I don't like how I keep having to revise the lower slope of this wedge down.

I don't like it one bit.

You should expect sidewalk until after New Year ... whatever TA says.

I was expecting a uptrend from people collecting upcoming forks.  Huh

https://quantco.in/ifo/btc

Regarding these forks, am I wrong or you can't get access to any of these new chains ? No working wallets are available (except the old ones, BCH, BTG, ...)
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 28, 2017, 08:39:00 AM
sorry, that is the code block to uninstall the offending updates

Thank you for this btw. With MS, the more you remove the best it is, BUT I would keep Microsoft Security Essentials ...

Notice how they're trying to paint a head-and-shoulders pattern on the tape, in a low volume/participation environment.

Classic Bitcoin.  Grin
