What's it got to do with BTC-e which was not in Russia?

Or are you just trolling?

Not trolling.. I thought BTC-E was in Russia / Russia based?? (And the US servers and fund in transit were seized )
If BTC-e was in Russia, do you really think the government would have allowed the FBI to seize the servers?
They might as well take Snowden whilst they were at it. Get real!

Stop freaking out. You're all good! If you have funds on BTC-e (or will have funds on the new site), just be very careful about not sending those coins directly back to a licensed exchange like Coinbase. Those coins could be subject to civil asset forfeiture. Get some clean coins through another exchange/service first.

I think you would find there would quickly be a class actions against the seizure if people started reporting they were getting raided.
Most BTC-e customers are not from the US.

164  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Does Bittrex report to the IRS? on: September 07, 2017, 07:09:35 AM
Bittrex don't exchange fiat currencies so they have nothing to report except there own business tax returns.

I don't think that's the case. I mean, they don't report to the IRS. But virtually every transaction (including crypto-crypto) is taxable from a capital gains perspective. Just because you don't wire dollars to your bank account doesn't mean you don't technically owe taxes. This is why I prefer not to verify ID at exchanges. Just in case...
Show me a law that says Bittrex have to report customers crypto to crypto transactions to the IRS.
I can certainly show you a law that says they would have to report fiat.

I remain hopeful regarding the relaunch, and it seems that at least those that stay might recover more than 55%. But I still don't see how this new exchange will be viable. They have clear affiliation with an indicted exchange. How can their fiat processing be reliable? What if their coins are blacklisted at other exchanges? Might they just get seized again?
How do you indict an exchange?  You can only indict a legal entity eg. a person or incorporated entity.

Nobody knows anything about the legal entities behind the new site because the old site hasn't told us, so you are just making assumptions.

Dear BTC-E users!

We combined all the previous news and new ones into this text. We closely follow the questions you ask us and update our FAQ. For ease of familiarization, we divided it into subsections.

Thank you for your interest, sincere participation and support!

SUPPORT
When will the support portal be launched?
The launch of the support portal on the new site is scheduled for 10/09/2017

OLD SITE
Are the old deposit addresses relevant to the Koins?
These addresses are no longer relevant and coins sent to these addresses will not be credited. All new addresses will be generated on the new service.

ACCESS TO THE SITE
Do not come letters to the post office?
Check the spam folder, most likely the message came under the filter.

Is it possible to organize an input with an untethered two-factor, without the possibility of output to view the balance?
No, there is no such possibility.

SECURITY
Cases of phishing emails on e-mail have become more frequent.
We officially declare that we do not send any emails for verification, please do not open the files and do not click on the links.

Update security settings
1. Your password has been force-relieved. At the login, it is necessary to generate a new password or use the password that we will create for you, for this there is a separate function.
2. Edit 2ph, delete the old key and create a new one.
3. Check the list of white IP and delete inactive or out-of-date IP.

RETURN OF FUNDS
"When will the payment of available funds begin?"
"How to withdraw funds now?"
"In which koins will the Fiat be converted from my balance?"
All information is available at https://btc-e.nz/refund

"I made a request to withdraw funds and did not receive them, what should I do?"
1. Make sure that it's really been 72 hours.
2. Make sure that we have no news about delays and technical problems, here https://btc-e.nz/news
3. If the first two paragraphs are positive, write a personal message to the user support - here https://btc-e.nz/messages

MONEY TRANSACTION
I have not credited the deposit in coins after 25.07?
All deposits before August 1, inclusive, are credited. If funds are not credited, you need to write a ticket for verification, but this is only if you have not used the refund.

What about the funds that were transferred after August 1?
Deposits after August 1, we can not enroll, since they are under US control.

PAMM and MT4
Will MT4 and PAMM be available in the future?
Platforms Metatrader4 White label and PAMM were provided by Fxopen in the framework of contractual relations with them; But in connection with accusations against the service from the United States, they ripped the agreement unilaterally.

What about the funds that were used in the PAMM accounts?
We expect the receipt of correct data on PAMM accounts on 11/09/2017. After that, until 15.09.2017 the funds will be credited to the account of users. If funds are not credited to you, you must write a ticket.

What happened to the customer data on trading in MT4?
Funds from MT4 are credited to users' accounts, the closing date of positions on July 25, 2017. If you have not been credited, you must write a ticket.

FIAT
What will happen to the fiat in the users' accounts?
The team of lawyers works on fiat, which decide how to return access to it. At the moment, you have the opportunity to get 55% in koin.

In which koins will the Fiat be converted from my balance on output, before launching a new site?
BTC, ETH, LTC as a percentage.

COINS
How are things with BitcoinCash?
BitcoinCash is credited to all bitcoin holders in a 1: 1 ratio.

TOKENS OF EXCHANGE
Will there be tokens for each coin?
Yes. https://btc-e.nz/tokens

Is the Token for Fiat and Koin the same or are they different?
Different. For example, USDET. ET - in the marking means a token. In this example, this is the USD token.

Can I sell my tokens?
Tokens you can sell on the market or wait until we have them redeemed from you. Free tokens will be opened.

Where can I sell tokens?
On our site.

Tokens to other participants of the new exchange can be translated?
Yes.

NEW SITE
When is the opening of the auction?
Bidding will be launched on September 15, simultaneously, with the launch of a new site.

How will my funds and profile be transferred to a new site?
Will the new site have new passwords / 2fa or will all the security data remain the same?
Everything will be rescheduled. This will be done automatically, no additional action is required on your part.

Will the new service be Bitcoin Betting?
Will, after obtaining the necessary licenses.

What will happen to the funds on the accounts of those users who decide to stay and wait for the launch of the new site?
1. Your profile will be automatically transferred with all security settings (password, 2fa, IP white list).
2. All your funds will be transferred to a new site.
3. On the day the site is launched, the balance sheet will be recalculated at the market rate and will be credited to accounts with a higher ratio than 55/45. There will be no conversions, some of the funds will be transferred to tokens.
4. Tokens will be credited to your account balance, which you can use for bidding and issuing codes.

On a new site, will I continue to input and output as before? The commission's interest will remain the same?
We plan to increase the number of input and output methods and reduce commissions.

Will there be btc-e codes on the new platform?
Codes remain, but are transformed into more modern payment instruments.

Since September 10, we will launch a ticket system for solving the following private issues of our users:
• The balance is not displayed correctly;
• The funds from MT4 and PAMM have not been credited;
• The funds that were requested for withdrawal to payment systems did not come;
• Request a private key to send funds to ETH;
• The password is not suitable, reset 2ph, disable the IP white list. Account is locked and others.
Now these questions can not be solved in manual mode. Be patient.

VERIFICATION
Will verification be mandatory at registration?
No.

My account has been verified by you, will this verification be relevant?
The company that conducted the verification unilaterally terminated the contract, in this connection, if necessary, the verification will have to be re-run already on the new service.

How long will verification take?
Now the staff is being trained. We plan to carry out verification within 72 hours, if there is not an anomalously large influx of volunteers.

Will it be possible to verify several accounts that were on the exchange at one time?
Yes. A trading account can be more than one, but the output of a fiat in one.

What is verification needed for?
If you plan to enter and display Fiat, verification is necessary.

Do I need to be verified on a new site in order to withdraw the koin?
No.

Do I need to undergo verification in order to start trading on a new site?
If the balance of the account on the new site is replenished in koin, then no. If in fiat, then yes.

To exchange codes of coins and codes of tokens it will be possible without verification?
Yes, you can.

But that's my point.. If there is a site where you can sell your BTC for fiat, but not get the fiat out of the site.. would you sell? No. There would be nobody selling coins for fiat, so that's not an option.

I guess if you don't trade much you might think that, however in reality I use to buy and sell fiat all the time on BTC-e yet I never deposited or withdrew any. It is a hedge when BTC is crashing like USDT is on Polo, people love the stuff.
169  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: September 06, 2017, 07:11:38 AM
So if fiat does NOT get converted, and the fiat withdrawal is very limited.. Our fiat is stuck there? I'm guessing people will be reluctant to sell their BTC / similar for fiat if it will be hard getting it off the site.

They really have provided very little to go on to clarify the position with fiat! There is nothing about fiat in their FAQ
They seem to be treating people with fiat balances very poorly with a singular lack of information.
People are having to second guess their intentions.
As a result they will be losing a lot of otherwise loyal customers!

The only official info I can find is on an old FAQ

"What will happen to the fiat in the users' accounts?
The team of lawyers works on fiat, which decide how to return access to it. At the moment, you will be able to deduce 55% in koin."

Can anybody quote anything they have said that provides any info about treatment of fiat balances?

It seems with current info and lack of info they are forcing fiat holders to choose the refund option!

Please can anybody post any actuall quote relating to their proposals?
Just read the FAQ, Refund and Update pages on their website it's all in there, they have said exactly what is happening with the website.

The first wave of payments

09/04/17 15:38 by admin
Dear BTC-e users!

We made the first payments to users who requested a refund. Check your wallets.
Also, the working capacity of the page for return was restored.

There were some technical problems when sending transactions with the amount less than 0.001. These transactions will be made later.

BCH (Bitcoin Cash) will also be sent later.

Sincerely, BTC-e team
If we make refund before 15/09 we will only take back 55% fund
So don't refund before 15/9 unless you are having a panic attack.
171  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: September 06, 2017, 12:02:34 AM
Why they didn't give any information about the conditions that we will find on sept 15th??

Not because they are shady.... you are on th wrong track.

Just think about it.

Why should they provide detailed information about the new site now.
They don't want you to feel too save. Everytime somebody chooses the 55% and runs away their debt is decreasing.

The only thing that worries me is at what exchange rate USD will be converted into coins. At the rate of the 15th or the actual ONE

How about you just think about it.

BTC-e admin said an entirely new organization/investors are taking over after the 15th.
It's up to the new owners to decide what information to give out after they take over.
They are toughening up there AML/KYC verification to European standards, so you will need ID similar to Bitstamp which is also in Europe.

Why they didn't give any information about the conditions that we will find on sept 15th HuhHuhHuh? WHY?Huh? It's shady and dangerous for risking at 15th September.
It will require verification to withdraw? specially for koins? withdraw is limited without verification Or impossible without it?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?
How can someone properly decide if he do not know all the conditions?HuhHuhHuhHuh?

They BTC-e admins are Russian, the don't read English forums threads, but don't let me stop you from acting like an idiot.

173  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: September 05, 2017, 12:04:31 PM
I assume fiat balances will be converted to coin on 15th?
If the value of coin is higher on 15th than now the conversion will result in less coin.
This should be compensated by the increase in the 55% that they intimated, but it all seems a bit vague.
Currently for those optiong for a refund timing is quite important...

Fiat USD/RUR/EUR becomes a mixture of coins and USDET tokens valued at $1USD each, those tokens might be tricky to redeem.
You will be able to trade them for USD on the new site at a market driven exchange rate but you won't be able to cash that USD you get for them until the new site owners have a fiat processor to replace Mayzus/OKPAY in the UK who seized the BTC-e accounts, and you jump through the EU AML/KYC compliant verification hoops.

I will probably trade fiat tokens for fiat, then buy crypto with that as I only use fiat as a trading hedge, I have never deposited or withdrawn fiat from BTC-e, never had the need/urge to, but I do have some sitting there atm from past trades.

Anyone who selected the 55% refund option tries to deposit to another exchange or an online wallet? I want to know their reaction when receiving coins from btc-e wallet. Grin
How would they know where the deposit came from as BTC-e rolled all new hot wallets?

I've read the FAQ, and it was in the bitcointalk post, but did not get moved when the FAQ was added on btce.  Where did the NO us resident information go?  Is this still in effect or has it been changed?

Yeah I am trying to locate that old post as well. BTC-E saying "No longer accepting/serving US Citizens". Looks like they deleted it for some reason and now they are just not providing an answer to any updates or FAQ on btc-e.nz

Please post a link when you find it, I have not seen any such announcement.

Judging by the incredible number of people that ask the same questions over and over in the troll box, I can full understand why they disabled the support ticket system. There is no way know they could have handled the volume of questions from people that don't read the FAQ and news updates, so it's better just to leave the thing off until it dies down a bit.

178  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [BTC-E] Anyone able to reset their password on btc-e.nz? on: September 05, 2017, 01:26:12 AM
Hey there,

Anyone able to reset their password? I haven't received mine in 2 days.

Considering there are over a thousand users online, that all would have been forced to reset their passwords, what do you think the answer to your question might be?
179  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: September 04, 2017, 08:53:20 PM
All I can say is I’m not pleased at losing 45% of my holdings to cash out now which was a new idea they came up with since making the original promise to not do that very thing.

There was no way I was going to leave any of my actually available funds on there another second. Good luck to those that have spun that dice...

That was your decision, not BTC-e's.

Only 9% of the users have chosen the 55% refund   https://poll.pollcode.com/62684153_result?v

The vast majority are waiting until after Sep 15th.

180  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: September 03, 2017, 10:03:26 PM

Another ridiculous thing is that they convert fiat to the current Bitcoin market rate of $4500, and not the $2546 rate at the time they went down.
If BTC/USD had fallen to $1,500 and they converted it at $2,546 then what would you say? You can't have it both ways, if you do a conversion it's at the rate of today not some other day.
