1601  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Summary of the events last night - And an apology. on: December 20, 2012, 12:26:20 AM
I understand, as a business owner, sometimes it's difficult to accept that someone stole from you, and
your principles won't let you give it up so easily, even go as far as letting your principles cloud your
judgement. But really you have to accept the loss, learn from the mistake and move on, it's just part of
the cost of doing business. In a sense, it's a valuable lesson, to learn how to prevent the same thing
happening in the future, how to improve your processes.

research the link and you will find it linked from many sites...
if you do not list it, then do not claim to be THE resource for bitcoin related stuff.

It seems to be a dyndns service or redirector. Anyway my goal is to provide a resource for reputable sites. Having a permanent domain name would be one of the criteria I think.

What kind of database can't handle "thousands" of users? Even the free ones can handle billions easily.

Really your own fault if you didn't back up your wallet. when you use a desktop client, you lose your wallet, do you blame the developers?
blockchain.info is really a web based client, that's all.
1609  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: no wonder why bitcoin fails on: December 18, 2012, 02:31:39 PM
You just described something that has nothing to do with Bitcoin and yet you reached the conclusion of Bitcoin fail?
1610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: December 17, 2012, 08:59:11 PM
use http://CampBX.com it appears to already be gaining volume unless I'm retarded

I wish more people would use campbx, its fully functional. Its kind of a chicken and the egg type of thing though. More people will buy there once more people sell there, but more people will sell there once more people buy there.

Why campbx? why not BTC-E? campbx has 0.55% fee vs BTC-E 0.2% flat fee. and BTC-E has way more volume.

Dwolla-> btc-e 0.25 flat fee + 1.99% fee (for $100+, 2.09% for <$100 with BitInstant)

Dwolla-> campBX 0.25 flat fee

Why the 1.99% fee? I can just wire money to them for free. There's no need for dwolla too. I always wire money directly to mtgox, dwolla only slow down the process. Look around for your local bank/credit union, often you'll find one that offer free international wire as a feature. I found several bank that offer it in my local area.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z135WhHnlM8

there were guards at the school

Thankfully, he could not get a gun. If ever there was an argument for gun control, this is it. In a timely manner, this event juxtaposes with the Connecticut shooting. Nobody was killed in this knife attack.

Seriously? you think Knives can not kill people? These are two completely different incidents, done by completely different people. If you had put a gun in the knife man's hand, I doubt he'll even injury as many, because he apparently did not learn how to kill effectively nor does he make any effort to make a kill. It's actually quite difficult in my opinion to stab 22 kids and not kill any one of them. I think he might not have even made any stab motion.
1613  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gun free zone on: December 17, 2012, 06:10:15 PM
You can ban every gun in the world people are still going to die.

What about the children in the recent school knifing incident?

I think it's just luck that no one died in the China school knifing incident. Both gun and knife can easily kill or not kill. It just happens the gun man in CT shooting is highly experienced shooter, while the guy in China I doubt he spent any time practicing knifing or learning how to kill with knives.
1614  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Get The Humble THQ Bundle with Bitcoin on: December 17, 2012, 02:32:32 PM
There's no incentive. You added another layer of risk without benefits. We have to now trust you and humble bundle to deliver, instead of just trusting humble bundle.

Plus buying the humble bundle isn't exactly something I would want to be anonymous for.

What's going on? I often see a bunch of 0.00000001 bets, seems it's flooding the system, my legit bets isn't getting process as fast after the spams come in.
1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why does the hashrate sometimes drop so drastically? on: December 15, 2012, 05:44:53 PM
GPU mining has become unprofitable for anyone that has to pay normal electricity rate. So a lot of casual miners probably stopped mining. Once the price reach $20 or so, they will start again.
1617  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gun free zone on: December 15, 2012, 03:09:00 PM
You best example of a gun free zone is an airplane? Really? This will make the Americans on this board ballistic but then again everything does 9/11 happened because a bunch of crazed terrorists seized planes and crashed them into the twin towers, even your 'best' example had a serious flaw with a real life example that is conveniently ignored.

Yes 9/11 would still be a good example of gun free zone. 9/11 was done with box cutters, not guns, so the "gun free zone" was maintained. Box cutters were legal to bring on a plane at that time. The security fail was a whole another issue, which is now being remedied with air marshals and secure inaccessible cockpit.
1618  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gun free zone on: December 15, 2012, 03:48:24 AM
Let's see, what's the most successful gun free zone? on an airplane, why? because there are sufficient level of security screening.

Are you suggesting to screen kids on the school like they screen passengers on airports?

Yes, I'm saying if you make a place a "gun free zone", then you better implement airport level security, otherwise, you can't make it a "gun free zone", you are simply putting people in danger, basically you are putting up a sign that says "Everyone at this place is unarmed".
1619  Other / Off-topic / Gun free zone on: December 15, 2012, 03:27:15 AM
I think it's about time that retarded law makers realize that gun free zone can not be achieved without airport level security.

Let's see, what's the most successful gun free zone? on an airplane, why? because there are sufficient level of security screening.

Who had the bright idea of making schools that has no security check and no walls, a "gun free zone"? Are we to believe that these gun men will simply respect the "gun free zone" because they are lawful, moral and virtuous?
