1601  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cannot handle the fact that al Qaeda is being supported by the U.S. government on: April 29, 2014, 09:31:11 AM
We have a very dangerous set of actors in the region, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, and those who are on our terrorist list, to be sure, supporting – claiming to support the opposition.

They are not terrorists as long as they fight against the Assad regime and the Russians. It was the same during the 1980s, if you remember. Then the Mujaheddin and the Al Qaeda were the friends, just because they were fighting the Soviets.
I'm well aware that we essentially created them by funding the mujahadeen in the 1980's, but I have heard of no evidence suggesting that we support them to this day.
1602  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the "empty space" in an atom? on: April 29, 2014, 09:13:34 AM
I'd very strongly recommend reading Lawrence Krauss' book "A Universe From Nothing". I'm part way through and the beginning alone is worth reading for a better understanding of what "empty" and "nothing" really means. Just remember that when things seem incomprehensible that means you are learning. The Universe doesn't exist for us to like the way it works, only for us to try and understand how it does.
1603  Other / Off-topic / Re: Grammar 101.. on: April 28, 2014, 10:45:43 PM
My english can be horrible at times.  When I am really tired I dont care if I make grammatical errors in the forums or chat rooms.  People tend to think if you have bad grammar your bad at communicating.
1604  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: April 28, 2014, 10:43:10 PM
If anyone has read the Dead sea Scrolls also tell you not to eat beast is forbidden like Pigs, if ya know biology pigs resemble humans in the fetus for a couple of months.  So religious eating meat can be wrong.

1610  Other / Off-topic / Re: Joshua Zipkin has 48 hours to remove a YT video or will he owe me royalties. on: April 28, 2014, 08:38:33 PM
did you have this in writing, that you are allowed to collect royalties?  This sounded like a testimonial.  This will be hard to take to court without any proof on your side.
1611  Other / Off-topic / Re: The United States Government has become a den full of perpetrators of terrorism, on: April 28, 2014, 05:53:49 PM
I think the US was one of the biggest causes of the slavetrade.
Yes and no,if you look in the history, for more than 2,000 years people in many different parts of the world have forced their fellow humans into slavery. Look at the Roman Empire ,which was in Europe, from 32-30BC until Fall of Constantinople 29 May 1453,millions and millions of people from Europe and Africa to Middle east were forced into slavery. And between about 1500 and 1900, Europeans forcibly uprooted millions of people from throughout West Africa and West Central Africa and shipped them across the Atlantic in conditions of great cruelty.
So on the slavery trade America wasn't the first and "the worst"!

Wouldn't 100% alcohol kill you? I cant imagine it'd be very good for you.

Spirytus Rektyfikowany contains 96% alcohol.

Here is a video of someone who is drinking it:

96% jeeze. Can you get 100%?
Isoproponol is pure alcohol 100%, and is used as a pre paint cleaner in vehicle bodyshops. I wouldn't advise you drink it though as you will die way before it got you drunk.

1615  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to make a lot money online? on: April 28, 2014, 10:34:36 AM
Though it's stressful, I have managed to make a very decent part-time living through online poker. It took me about six months to really get a hang of it, but now I'm pretty much cruising.
I only play 1-2 hours a day, and I generate about 1-2K/month in savings. I'm hoping to go up in stakes soon and make substantially more.
1616  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just saved a dead BIOS on: April 28, 2014, 10:22:52 AM
BIOS are one of those tricky things in a computer that no one ever thinks about, and most would rather replace a MB than to try and reflash it.

Nice Work.
1617  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone here into game development, what game engine are you using right now? on: April 28, 2014, 10:17:18 AM
My preferred platform is the web, so I write my own JavaScript engine, trying to get the functionality I need at that point in such a way that it fits in a library.

So far, it works quite well Smiley
1618  Other / Off-topic / Re: Data diode for high security on: April 28, 2014, 10:14:24 AM
What about using them for network monitoring to protect SPAN ports, etc? Has anyone even heard such a thing? It was proposed as a solution at a recent industry conference.
1619  Other / Off-topic / The United States Government has become a den full of perpetrators of terrorism, on: April 28, 2014, 10:09:32 AM
What will it take for us to get up off our asses and hold our government accountable?

Do you remember that famous quote Benjamin Franklin gave when he was asked if we have a democracy or a monarchy? He responded by saying "a democracy, if you can keep it."

Well... when are we going to get our democracy back people? I'm sick and tired of waiting for a leader to take charge. When will we take charge?
1620  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm tired of the United States on: April 28, 2014, 10:02:33 AM
These politicians have let our country be eroded from the inside by letting our agriculture slip, manufacturing jobs leave the country, and made finance type jobs a valuable job. Our top paying jobs don't actually provide a service for anyone, they just find ways to "invest" your money.
Hopefully enough people start to make a plan for change. It probably won't happen until the next world war happens.
