Package received
Even though they may never make the amount of coins I spent on them - I do want to say thank you to SSB, for being the 1st person I have sent BTC to for a product - and actually received it.  Thank you!   Grin

Yifu is communicating now as much as he did during the Batch #2 fulfillment period.  This cannot be a surprise.  These chips are late, but so was Batch #1 and Batch #2.  This knowledge was in front of you when you made the purchase.  Tell me what answer you will give to the judge when he says "Isn't that curious.  Tell me why you thought he would ship on time this time?"

This.

I for one fully expected some delay.  I am kind of surprised at the amount of venom oozing from this thread.  The delays are now getting kind of ridiculous and some good will compensation would be welcome from Yifu's side, but you all seem SO distraught by a delay that was pretty easily predicted.

well but here is huge difference between chips and working units. for working unit, you need PCBs, PSU, case, controller, lot of various cables and somebody, who will take all this parts together.

for chips, you just need place an order to 3rd party vendor, agree lead time with him and once will be done simple resend the package to other address. Tell me stupid or naive, but I really don't expect 2 months delay for this simple task.

This.

I generally don't ignore as I consider that a bullshit move to censor people I don't agree with.  I really hate it when they do it to me like PG just did a minute ago...

PG - This is the dumbest shit you have ever said.  Its not even worth suing someone for less then 50k these days.  Even that amount is questionable.  I doubt it would be worth the time to sue you.  I doubt you have any money they could collect on.  Saying you would put a broomstick up Josh's ass if he was standing in front of you?  Thats practically a terrorist threat.

If you want to put your action where your mouth is, I dare you to put up a $50k escrow, where a registered arbitration company decides who keeps it based on you proving your claims.  If your not willing to do that, you should either STFU with your stupid negativity, or be banned from these forums.

The ponit is, you provide nothing new to these forums and only serve to corrupt and add negativity to every single thread you post on.  Someone posts anything BFL related, you can be fucking sure PG is there trolling it up.

Your thoughts are fucking clear.  No one needs to listen to your stupid fucking rants day after day.  You poison this forum with your negativity.  How the fucking mods have let you go on this long with no warnings is beyond me.  I cant be the only one who thinks you drove your point down into the ground, out the other side of the earth into fucking orbit.

If you keep this shit up adding no constructive discourse to this forum, I'll either make it my personal mission in life to get you banned from this forum or I'll leave this forum in protest for them allowing trolling.  I have no problem with you but your seriously acting like a fucking OCD patient in a psyche ward.

Jesus FUCKING CHRIST.

@Therymos Can we please give this guy a warning or a ban or something?

jhansen doesn't put people on ignore due to not wanting to censor them, but called for a ban on a member in order to censor him.
 Huh

I don't know why from my answer to one person you draws the conclusion that I think about all people here? This is a significant over-interpretation my comment. And I don't write or suggest anything about  TSMC quality and experience.  (Best one in my opinion)
For me it is obvious that each stage of production are followed by further tests. Also, after placing the silicon in package by third party company. Certainly before sending parties to the recipient (Avalon) executes the tests on samples from the lot.

TSMC sounds like a company that tests their stuff before sending out to Avalon, so I am not sure what additional testing is necessary for Avalon to be doing... Gandalf seemed to think otherwise, and I was just curious as to what types of testing he believes the chips need to go through AFTER arriving at Avalon?  (because it makes no sense to me)

How did you come to the conclusion that I think that the tests are performed by Avalon before shipment really do not know  Huh  I wrote clearly that the placing in QFN package do an external company, and than performs tests.

I understand the anger at Bitsyncom. Also waiting for delivery.
Despite that, however, please do not fight for the little things. It will not help any of us.

I apparently misinterpreted your initial response...

I interpreted this:
Quote
How hard to understand for ppl do not have a clue about technology.
I try translate it for you:
Various companies take wafer from TSMC cut, packing (assembly silicon structure in the QFN48 package)  and testing.

As...

"How hard is it to understand for people who do not have a clue about technology.
I try translate it for you:
Various companies (assumed Avalon) take wafer from TSMC cut, then pack/assembly in silicon structure/and test."

I took that to mean you were saying Avalon receives a wafer from the TSMC cut and then does this test themselves... but you are obviously saying something different, based on your latest response. My apologies.  Grin

I assumed you were defending Avalon saying that they do have a need to test once they receive from TSMC... but you seem to be stating that the Avalon news release is indicating that 'testing' needs to be done by one of the third party companies you have mentioned and NOT done by themselves?

Sorry for the confusion.
1609  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: In their defense, BF Labs Inc. has excellent Customer Service. on: August 20, 2013, 07:56:25 PM
an idiot, moron

you should be happy that you are still not arrested for fraud instead of bitching to other forum members.

And why is that?  No fraud has been committed, so why would there be arrests made?  Your little fantasy land doesn't apply to reality, sorry.

Out of curiosity, what would you consider 'fraud'... or what is your definition of fraud?   Sometimes people on here seem to have their own interpretations, just curious what yours is.

I am going based off of:

Definition(s) of fraud:
http://dictionary.law.com/Default.aspx?selected=785
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/fraud

Quote
the intentional use of deceit, a trick or some dishonest means to deprive another of his/her/its money, property or a legal right.

EDIT: There are plenty of accusations that scream 'fraud'... not sure what is provable at this point, but if there is fraud being committed, it will be 'fully' proven soon enough.

1611  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 20, 2013, 06:37:38 PM
Sounds like the words of a company that tests their stuff before sending out... but I obviously was not involved in Avalon's ordering process, what they paid for, how TSMC handled their order, etc... just curious where your expertise comes in and what exactly needs to be tested with these chips after leaving TSMC?   Wouldn't TSMC at least do some type of wafer acceptance test?

Why you are defending Avalon's lies?  I can tell you the last part of the "update" about the trade-ins is a complete lie.  There are number of hero members on this forum who can attest to it.

How am I defending Avalon?
That quote is from TSMC's website...

Even if testing *should* be done, I am not sure it is really that necessary considering most group buy members ended up purchasing a couple extra chips, and I highly doubt there is going to be any high percentage of defects coming from TSMC - it seems like this is just a comment/excuse by Avalon to keep us going a little longer...

From http://www.avalon-asics.com

story so far - 8/19

chips have arrived via other routes as previously announced, we are shipping them out at the rate of 40-50k on a daily basis at the moment, in addition to the ~150k or so that went out, another 40k was shipped today. There is multiple channel which the chips are arriving from various packaging facility to minimize downtime. Please bare this in mind: while we had backup/multiple packaging companies and various delivery routes, things still will go wrong. There is also testing that must be done, then they can split, packed and sent to the EZP coupled with their CN-22 and be on their way. We will provide more update as they come. In addition, the trade-in and refunds are being processed.

If this is true, many folks on this forum should start receiving chips in the next week or two.

Is he saying there needs to be "testing" done on the chips??...

Bunch of lies as always.
"testing" lol he is trying to lie that they will take each chip out of the tray and 'test' it and then put it back into tray and ship to us.
What is this I don't even...
How hard to understand for ppl do not have a clue about technology.
I try translate it for you:
Various companies take wafer from TSMC cut, packing (assembly silicon structure in the QFN48 package)  and testing.

I have an understanding of some aspects of technology... and understand that 'technology' is a pretty large term which encompasses many different types of 'technology'.  I assume you are saying people here do not understand the chip manufacturing process?   Explain why you do?   It seems like TSMC's states this on their website:

Quote
We will strive to provide excellent semiconductor manufacturing services for worldwide customers and establish mutually beneficial, long-term partnership.

We will spread dedication to quality to every facet of the company and achieve a culture of continuous improvement to assure customer satisfaction. There is only one ultimate goal: Zero defect - in everything we do.

We will adopt expedient containment programs to shield our customers from any defects until each has been eliminated. We all share the responsibilities to achieve this goal.

1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin-0.8.3-macosx Database continuously corrupting on: August 19, 2013, 10:31:46 AM
I am experiencing an issue, where is see error "System Error: Database Corrupted" virtually on every startup now, which has rendered the program completely useless to me (and kinda locks me out of Armory, which is why i need QT in the first place...)

I have tried downloading the blockchain about 3 times (took roughly 2 weeks  Embarrassed) and also downloaded bootstrap.dat and imported, which worked and allowedme to become fully synced with the network. Upon closing Bitcoin-Qt and restarting computer, reopening was instantly met with corruption notice again.
You could attempt to rename the 'blocks' and 'chainstate' folders inside of your "~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin" folder... this should get the program running again and at least attempting to re-download the blockchain. I had similar issues with a macbook I was using, I believe it was corrupting when the battery drained or when I closed the laptop without shutting down the bitcoin-qt application first.

at the moment of writing, another 130k chips have gone out, and will proceed to ship more as we get them. ( and no, they are not samples.)
It was the truffle shuffle that got your attention, wasn't it?     Grin

... there may be some hope after all ...

EDIT: Thank you for some type of update!

A little disappointed we haven't gotten any type of update from Yifu at this point. It's the end of the week, are the chips shipping... or just samples?

Whatever - I've given up caring - and soon to follow is my care for bitcoins. There are too many elements against bitcoin as it is...

At this point, I'd prefer seeing Yifu do the truffle shuffle before getting the chips shipped.

Please don't believe the hype that one other reseller is the fastest. DHL shipments did take a day or two longer to reach me in the past. All new shipments are coming a different way and should be here just as quick as other US resellers.

Guess this quote is no longer relevant due to it still being shipped through DHL... why are other US resellers able to get it quicker through DHL?
