You want to keep it at least 1 second per request, and you may want to send a friendly PM to theymos to avoid any potential issues/blacklisting. And it's better to request data while not being logged in.
782  Other / Meta / Re: Signed message by me: IMPORTANT! on: January 18, 2018, 09:44:39 PM
However, if your private key is compromised, I wouldn't really know if it's actually you signing this message and not the person who may have your private key.
True but:
but if you really think your private key is compromised, you may want to move to a new wallet and sign a message showing your prior address & new address of your new wallet.
Hm, how is that going to prove anything?

Not proving anything, that 2nd piece was more advice on moving to a new private key and then signing a message here to show the move to others... under the assumption that his account here has not been compromised. It would at least show the move to a new wallet and could possibly be used later if his account somehow gets compromised, or handed over to someone claiming the account is hacked and claims to be the original account owner by signing a message using the old wallet. One would still have to accept that the owner of the account, as of right now, is the original owner, in order to accept the signed message as a move to a new wallet/key.
783  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted ? why ? People must see this ! on: January 18, 2018, 04:42:16 PM
if you check the marketplace everyone do that . Do you want proofs ? i gaved you in past proofs and i can give you again those proofs .

The idea that it's ok to do because "everyone do that" is lame. If you have proofs of others, and admins/mods are not listening, I'd post this information publicly... Regardless, I have a feeling you may not have a valid argument here.
784  Other / Meta / Re: Signed message by me: IMPORTANT! on: January 18, 2018, 04:08:40 PM
Friends,
I've recently used my private key being online over a website named segwitaddress.org
Though, it's not a phishing site by any means (as it's an open-source project and is in the list of supporting entities of SegWit), I believe that my address 19RidcN96xgXkWi8gDwxcmbjjdjfrxpxvv has been compromised and that, I think that someone might misuse the information (private key) to sign message and/or hack my account here. So, I am signing a message with that address with something important:

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
This is Stedsm. I used private key of my address 19RidcN96xgXkWi8gDwxcmbjjdjfrxpxvv at segwitaddress.org and believe that my private key is now compromised. So, before believing anyone claiming to be me, send me a PM at Bitcointalk.
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
Bitcoin address: 19RidcN96xgXkWi8gDwxcmbjjdjfrxpxvv
Signature: IMn6s9+lC7E/jRRIGnXnqsQOst3uYTeODJag+hJkmdj6Inp2XIqX/1FSeqfhT4ZC8dLGUo4b5tn9/dsZqW0UEjE=
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Message verified.

However, if your private key is compromised, I wouldn't really know if it's actually you signing this message and not the person who may have your private key. I guess I can accept the fact that the password hasn't been changed on your bitcointalk account yet as reasonable logic that your account is probably not compromised, but if you really think your private key is compromised, you may want to move to a new wallet and sign a message showing your prior address & new address of your new wallet.

I'm curious if you used the offline options of this website or not?
The site is created by coinableS and the code looks legitimate so far but I haven't been through all of the JS. I'd still never put my private key on a website, and would take every precaution (at least shut off internet access) if attempting to use the "offline" version.

A good general rule to follow: Never enter your private key on a website
785  Other / Meta / Re: Is BTCTalk selling our email addresses, or are they getting scraped by spammers? on: January 18, 2018, 12:02:32 AM
I registered on BTC Talk with a Gmail alias address that I've never used for any other purpose, nor have I ever published it anywhere. And, to the best of my knowledge, email addresses aren't visible on our profiles, right? Yet, I just received spam email at my address. So, what's going on? Is the site's database susceptible to having emails scraped? Or is someone selling our email addresses? Or what? Either way, it doesn't look good.

You registered in 2014, the forum has been compromised since then and your e-mail was likely leaked... and I believe the database has been sold multiple times. All you can really do is report the message as Spam to your e-mail provider.

I had 3 accounts all of them banned and Got negative for no reason from Hilarious and co.

i`m a respected and good seller but hilarious had problems with me everytime.

If you want to know my Username , here it is : Steamproject .

So are you complaining about a ban from a year ago when Hilarious left feedback or is this ban recent?
And your other accounts I'm assuming are marius, tberty, Dorkslayz...?
Are you denying the fact that you were fake vouching/spamming your own threads with your alts or do you just think this is acceptable behavior?

787  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted ? why ? People must see this ! on: January 17, 2018, 09:42:52 PM
New and old users ( TRUSTED USERS ) are banned for no reason or proofs .

I`m one of them !

Hilarious and co thinks he own this forum and bann everyone .

CAN`T you see THAT MOD !?

Where is your original account that was banned?
788  Economy / Reputation / Re: Account "koshgel" is probably compromised on: January 17, 2018, 08:33:47 PM
At this point, it is certainly not a trustworthy account until a signed message is provided, and even then, the original owner doesn't appear full of integrity either. I've left feedback as well to make this more visible.
789  Other / Meta / Re: Post images as Newbie on: January 17, 2018, 08:14:10 PM
Can you try posting a video?

You cannot natively embed a video into a post, all you can do is embed an image (which in theory could be a thumbnail image of the video) and then link that image to the video. The video itself would be uploaded to a video sharing site.
790  Economy / Reputation / Re: actmyname reputation thread on: January 17, 2018, 03:22:50 PM

Now you made another error. You replied both in a very short amount of time confirming you are the same person. I will leave forum members to judge this. I got what I wanted for the moment. I am not finished yet with you. More coming soon.

28 seconds and they are the same person?  Seems tough to accomplish although I guess not impossible... the good news is, in your world I can be anyone now, I just wait for them to post and immediately post after them and I can then become an alt of anyone on the forum. Sweet... /sarcasm
791  Other / Meta / Re: Two new no-signature boards on: January 17, 2018, 02:39:08 PM
After a week, it doesn't seem if people are shifting en-masse to the 2 new boards, to avoid signature spam. Looks like paid signatures are essentially the drivers of this forum.  Smiley

Paid signatures may drive the majority of noise on this forum, but they are not the engine. There could be many reasons there are not more threads being started... partially visibility, and the fact that serious conversations take time to develop and are on a smaller scale when compared to the current noise. The fact that there are not a bunch of useless posts and threads being started in the serious discussion may symbolize that the majority of noise on the main discussion boards is due to paid campaigns... regardless, it's probably too early to conclude anything with these new boards, and I'm not sure they are really getting a fair chance for visibility sitting under "Other".
792  Other / Meta / Re: Copper Membership Paid | Refreshed and nothing on: January 16, 2018, 08:15:27 PM
thanks guys! I will look into it.

Does the copper account allow you to have signatures and an avatar or just image posts?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.0

By popular demand, newbies can now pay to have some of their restrictions lifted. If you pay the fee, you become a Copper Member, and you can post images. That's the main point of this: allowing newbies to post images. Additionally (and these might change depending on how things go), Copper Members currently have these bonuses:

- Some of the same permissions as Member-rank members, such as reduced signature styling restrictions. (But none of the PM-related restrictions are currently lifted, such as the style limit or per-hour PM limit.)
- Your "you must wait ____ seconds between ___" counter is reduced by 75%. So if you're naturally of Newbie rank, you only have to wait 360-75% = 90 seconds.

If you paid an "evil IP" registration fee, then whatever you paid (in BTC terms) is subtracted from the upgrade fee. If you paid a registration fee a long time ago, you might even get a free Copper Membership due to the increase in BTC price. Just visit the link at the bottom of this post to check whether you have it already.

I am aware that for most people the benefits of this membership are pretty lame. This membership is only intended to fill a specific niche; if you don't need it, don't buy it. It is not intended to be the lower-cost Donator/VIP alternative which I've talked about before as a possibility.

I wrote the system so that I can easily add additional paid memberships in the future, but I might not ever do so. Not sure.

You can buy it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

"Full Member" is needed for an avatar.
793  Other / Meta / Re: RFC: Ads for "Bitcoin Interest" on: January 16, 2018, 08:12:26 PM
KryptoKash requests to advertise a new Bitcoin fork, "Bitcoin Interest". The ads will be oriented toward attracting miners.

I feel that all altcoins named "Bitcoin _____" are inherently somewhat deceptive because they are not Bitcoin despite having Bitcoin as part of their name, and forum ads are not allowed to be deceptive. However, especially since this particular set of ads will be targeted at miners rather than buyers, I think that this case is borderline. What does the community think about this? Should ads for Bitcoin Interest be accepted?

I'm not sure why the target audience would make it any less deceptive?
Anyone using the Bitcoin name as part of their fork is being deceptive and I would assume wouldn't be allowed.
794  Economy / Reputation / Re: aTriz farming trust on: January 16, 2018, 04:49:50 PM
I really dont understand all the hate for Atriz ? what has he done?

chucked you out of a campaign? not allowed you in one?  touched your bottom??  come on tell us whats the real reason for all this shit?

I'm guessing it's partly related to the formation of "ALU". Hatred for Lauda may likely spill over to aTriz.
Regardless, I'm not seeing any reason to be accusing anyone of trust farming here.
795  Other / Meta / Re: Account stolen. on: January 16, 2018, 04:40:09 PM
this is a post from 2014, is it still valid? My guess is these admins get thousands of pms per day no?  besides, I don't have access to private keys I owned back when I created the account...

You are likely out of luck then. The thread is still valid, and was last edited on October 25, 2017.

I'm sure they get plenty of PMs but this is the only officially accepted way to recover an account on this forum, and having a signed message from a known address is the #1 form of proof. I've seen, in rare cases, other examples of proof be accepted, but generally speaking you have to have a signed message with an address you've used in the past and can be verified. If you do not have any of the keys back then, you are facing a very large uphill battle recovering and proving it is your account, and this battle is one that many have failed at.

I see. Thank you for your answers.

Can I even see what address I was using back then? Everything in my profile has been changed. Appreciate your help.

Here is a snapshot of your profile from May of 2015:

Can you sign a message from this address?
796  Other / Meta / Re: My account was hacked on: January 16, 2018, 04:20:32 PM
So I assume you are the one who started off copy/pasting in the first 2 posts of your account?

Hi-tech technology Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and Subaru are also very well known automobile companies in the world. It's estimated that 16% of the world's gold and 22% of the world's silver is contained in electronic technology in Japan.

And your posts after that do not get much better... all in all, your entire account - with or without the new owner - is just made up of garbage content.

I love this classic... his bitcoin told him about bitcoin...  Roll Eyes

My bitcoin told me about bitcoin and he said it is a good online job because diesn't require much time and it's not hard. I join here on bitcointalk to earn some money.

Well this message verified, so this is good enough for me to leave feedback. You're PM did not verify for some reason... so you may want to make sure you are sending the correct syntax of a verified message to Cyrus or theymos, if they get a PM from you and it does not verify easily, it will likely get ignored as fake. You do not need to include the <>'s when sending the signed message, but I couldn't get it to verify even after removing them from your PM so there must be something wrong with it. Double-check it with something like coinig.com before sending.

800  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM SCAM]MONEYPOT[SCAM SCAM] officially announced not to buy RBIES as promised on: January 15, 2018, 07:16:10 PM
I did not give the PMs to anyone because no one wanted to be judge  over DogeDigital. what is your interest to see those?

My interest is knowledge.

Second, giving an account to someone so that he can work towards paying debt off on Christmas does not equal distrust.  I didn't work with him afterwards, even though I believe if I had, that the money would go towards paying back his debt to others as well.  I can find examples of people that have posted in this thread that are well trusted that have done the same.

That's funny... I haven't seen this scammer pay anyone back. Seems like a really good-hearted scammer though, and you are such a good-hearted guy to give him a clean account at Christmas time - I could care less what time of year it was, and I love Christmas.

By the way, literally the THIRD (maybe even the first) post your scammer buddy did with the new account you gave him, as I've stated to you in the past, was to apply for a loan with the new account:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1311386.msg13421158#msg13421158

Yep, I'm sure he had all good intentions there on working to pay off his debts. Luckily, no loans were accepted and the account was tagged later that month.
