Let’s do $50k instead of only 40.
~2,5x from the ATH seems kind of low at this point, don't you think? I wouldn't bet my life on even $40k, but I'd be surprised if $50k was going to be this year's ATH.

The writing style does not seem like Tera..... I suppose that the account may have been sold?    She can report that, and maybe admins will freeze usage account?  but if they have no way of verifying who is the real Tera, then they might let it keep operating with the new owner... then we might get a publicly displayed battle between Tera and Tera2, perhaps?
Perhaps some DT members would flag the Tera account if admins won't recover it.

and confusing innocents who are not privy to the closed door shenanigans that took place.

A vanishingly small number. And completely inadvertent. If you're gonna get involved in crypto without doing your due diligence, you're gonna have a bad time. No matter what particular coin.

for you to suggest that people are not(still) confused about this issue is ludicrous.

Are you seriously trying to claim that anyone that spent more than a Superbowl's worth of time looking into it cannot tell the difference between Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Segwit?
You're either highly naive, or dishonest to say the least and I think you're smart enough not to fall into the former category. I'm pretty sure that everybody on this thread knows how the masses react to branding and aggressive marketing.

Just for clarification. You're saying that classic exchanges will go the way of the dodo, not decentralized ones, right?

Correct.  Sorry for not being more clear.
Don't worry about it. Just making sure I'm still up to date with the latest developments.
1625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 20, 2018, 12:17:53 AM
Shares on a public blockchain are going to be a thing. Real shares.  Like Apple and Amazon and even Berkshire Hathaway.  Not this pretend kindergarten shit we have had so far.

But Bitcoin needs a way to record and transfer these shares.  Like colored coins.  There are a bunch of contenders for which public blockchain will win.  It will not be Ripple or Stellar. ETH is the obvious threat but they have their own problems right now.

Do you mean all the ICO's and erc20 stuff from basically 2017?

Yes.

The legislation to support the changes is coming. It will start in the smaller, more agile countries and spread into places like the US.

Problem is that even if they wanted to meant those tokens to be shares that would make the SEC involved. So, currently, those just useless tokens with no representation of ownership.

The SEC will be involved and will bless it. It will all be fully legit.

Blockchain makes it impossible to rehypothecate  (hmm, not quite the right term, but best I can come up with ATM), so it will not be embraced for equities until it is forced on them.  Ever tried to get a certificate for a stock you 'own'?  Since the broker sold it to 50 different people (number out of my ass) and never bought it in the first place, it is next to impossible.  But very, very profitable!  If I can make time for it, I'll try to dig up some of the articles on it.  Horrifying and fascinating at the same time...

Blockchain will be used for settlement not trading. So if you allow your cryptoshares to stay in your brokers’ account they may be lent without your permission.  Not your keys etc.

Brokers (not exchanges) are most at threat of disruption.  At least until decentralized exchanges stop being a shit show. Then the revolution really kicks in and exchanges go the way of the dodo too.
Just for clarification. You're saying that classic exchanges will go the way of the dodo, not decentralized ones, right?
1626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why are bounty hunters guilty? on: February 20, 2018, 12:15:56 AM
If you are a Spam bounty hunter that does not contribute to this forum. then you are guilty. This is the reason why theymos implemented merit system. to lessen the Spam reply and topics flooding in bitcointalk.

This is also the main reason why ICO campaign rewards are getting low. thanks for the implementation of merit system. the trust for quality, constructive bounty hunters are now going up.
Is merit actually being considered in bounty campaigns now? On top of activity level that is.
1627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WAVES leasing rewards on: February 20, 2018, 12:14:51 AM
WavesGO and Fountain Perpetua both shared fees (Waves, MRT and alts) the last time I checked.

WavesGO gave me only WAVES and their own WavesGo token..
What else do you want...?

I thought they shared  MER, OCL, WNET, PPIO and NodeTX2 fees. Or at least that they did so indirectly through their tokens...
They share all the fees that go through their node. Depending on how much you've leased and on how many fees they are collecting you'll see different coins showing up earlier or later though. You're not going to get a batch of each coin with every payout.
1628  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in India. on: February 20, 2018, 12:11:53 AM
There's virtually no place on earth where Bitcoin is recognized as legal tender right now. I know that there's one part of Switzerland that accepts Bitcoin for tax payments, and one US State has mentioned interest in doing so in the future. But to my awareness that's about as far as Bitcoin as "legal tender" currently extends.

That doesn't really matter though. You can use your Bitcoins to purchase goods and to book holidays on Expedia.com. Some places sell real estate for Bitcoins as well. Whether or not a government recognizes it doesn't mean a thing when the people do.
1629  Other / Off-topic / Re: Athene is at it again, bringing more shitcoins on: February 20, 2018, 12:06:45 AM

They're being good consumers. Getting paychecks, and spending them. While completely idiotic from an individual point of view, they're doing a service to the overall Economy even if they get scammed. The money stays in circulation and keeps the gears grinding.

But regardless, in this specific case (which is just a tiny drop in the ocean of the global Economy) they don't really matter all that much. Smart money will come flowing in anyways. Stupid money always follows. That's just how things work. Fortunately we live in a world where people can freely choose to which group they belong to.

People wont want to work in cryptocurrency if they get scammed and don't bother to learn how it works. I understand that this case isn't a big deal to the economy of cryptocurrency. I am just discussing a topic.
By that argument anybody who has ever been scammed would stop working by virtue of salaries being paid in a currency that they've beem scammed out of. People would stop using the internet. Stop playing games. Stop getting on flights. Going out.

Whoever allows a bad experience put them off entirely simply isn't cut out for risky ventures, those that learn from their experience will profit massively. Those that ignored the market entirely or chose to exit due to bad experiences will just come back anyways once Bitcoin becomes too big to ignore.
1630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ico best in 2018? on: February 20, 2018, 12:01:21 AM
The best ICO for now is YourBlock, so invest in ICO YourBlock now before you regret it.
Wow, you've convinced me in an instant. Roll Eyes

Currently it's not possible to short on Binance. I am not aware of any plans that would change this in the near future.

Seems late in my opinion. Especially with central bankers admitting that they are powerless against Bitcoin.

Somewhere back we where having a delightful conversation...its buried and half forgotten.

Ditto...

It's like nothing happened, until we get into another BIG HUGE fight, and then at that time, any kind of historical (or hysterical) remnant, whether true or not, will become fair ammunition.

Projecting our future:

Stap. You're supposed to hate each other for having differences in opinion. Have you learned nothing from politics?

1635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex Preparing for an Exit Scam! DO _NOT_ SEND COINS THERE! on: February 19, 2018, 11:51:57 PM
First: Why don't you verify your account with 2FA? They already said that your limit is 2K$ without verifying.
Second: If you don't want to verify your account, just keep withdrawing smaller amounts each day, like equal to $1950 per day till all your funds are withdrawn.
I know there will be higher fees with the second option, but that is the fee you're paying to not verify your account.

I have recently withdrawn using the second option and I have received bitcoin funds quite quickly without any hassle.

You obviously didn't read any of my reply posts. I have a legacy account that is verified. I do have 2-FA turned on. But its unnecessary because they require that you provide a code sent via email to you in order to log in in the first place. I wasn't trying to withdraw over $2000 at one time -- they kept a ton of my NEM without sending it, and now they are keeping an equal value of my BTC.

Goody goody for you. I'm so happy for you that Polo hasn't scammed you yet. Meanwhile I'm living in a mosquito-ridden AirBnB in the middle of provincial Philippines because I can't get my money out of Polo. I can't sleep, I can't concentrate on work, I barely even get internet here. This sucks. They are wasting my life away for no discernible reason. So I have every right to call them out on their criminal behavior until they do the right thing and release my funds.

Like I said, I've been a customer with them for almost 4 years. And now this, out of the blue. With no explanation. But go ahead and keep using Polo, if you're a fool.
Maybe they froze your account because you tried to access it from the Philipines instead of the US (which appears to be where you are from)? Did you get a response yet?

1637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why are bounty hunters guilty? on: February 19, 2018, 11:43:12 PM
Who said bounty hunters are guilty? Bounty hunters are not lowering any rate at all, if anything, they are generating additional exposure for the ICO so that ICOs are likelier to succeed. Besides, if giving out bounties were not profitable, ICOs wouldn't be offering them in the first place.

I think what OP was alluding to was the fact that bounty hunters feel like they are under constant prosecution here at the forums. Whether that be from big ranking members who hate the thought of bounty or whether that be from ICOs calling for KYC on some projects. It just seems that this aspect of the forum isn't wanted, which is weird because they offer it. Kind of a catch 22 you can't win whatever side you are on.
There really aren't any problems with bounty hunting as long as they're not spamming like a dweeb, which is what most of the signature spammers are doing. They barely read the title of a thread and then drop off some incoherent nonsense that is vaguely related to it instead of having actually discussions like you know, the thing that a forum is meant to be used for.

It seems like every time one of the US regulatory bodies gets an opportunity to talk about the crypto space, it is positive. It makes you wonder why they are so supportive?

Now, law enforcement is a different story. Individual officers are just trying to get awards and medals for arresting people. Whenever there is a gray area, there is an opportunity for an inventive law enforcement officer to make a move to better their career standing. That isn't necessarily in line with the government's desires.

Why is the US Government so supportive?
They're supportive of 'the crypto space', of 'blockchain' and other distractions, but they admit there's nothing they can do about bitcoin.
The ECB admitted this a while back already as well. I was expecting more of a fight. What else could they possibly (try to) do after essentially admitting that they are powerless?
1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ico best in 2018? on: February 19, 2018, 11:25:36 PM
Granted I haven't skimmed the markets lately, the only one that I can blindly recommend is Blocklancer.

I've spent a lot of time reading their original and new Whitepaper, as well as their technical Yellowpaper.
From reading all three of those and seeing first-hand how their devs respond to even the most detailed and technical inquiries it became fully clear that they have spent a lot of time researching opportunities and are more than sufficiently capable of seeing their vision through.

They're bound to outpace or even absorb the traditional Freelancing platforms within the 2020s, which would put them at a market cap of well over 10-20 Billion USD without even accounting for the massive growth in the Freelancing market that is expected in the coming years. With a hard cap of 10 Million this could very easily become a 1000x bagger and higher in the long run, with a 100 fold increase being considered as low by 2020.
