In the future? Maybe a pruning system will be added, there are some possible options

you will damage an already small monetary supply
False, you only damage yourself. The other bitcoin will only become more valuable, and the monetary supply can be subdivided at will. 1 satoshi can become 1000 millisatoshi.
1665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it true that you can mine with routers? on: March 14, 2013, 06:43:21 AM
The only thing i know is that with some ASIC you can mine with them and connecting them directly to internet via the router, without using a computer. But the ASIC mine, not the router.

1667  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k double spend... on: March 13, 2013, 07:20:12 PM
This is not what happened, the transaction of this double spend was put in a block in the 0.8 chain but not in the 0.7 chain. Once the rollback happened and miners started mining on the 0.7 chain they did not add the transaction, wich was then "double spended"
1668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to inactive Bitcoins? on: March 13, 2013, 07:16:13 PM
This is awesome
1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k double spend... on: March 13, 2013, 07:08:49 PM
Well this is what happen with a rollback, if you invalid the last ten blocks or so and do a rollback, it is normal that these transactions risk to be doublespended, since usually no one expect a transaction with over ten confirmations to disappear.
1670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the bitcoin community ban the Satoshi Dice filter patch? on: March 13, 2013, 04:59:59 PM
SD is a bitcoin business which is using the bitcoin network to wiring money with real business intention (gambling). I do not see any problem with SD. Bitcoin should handle this problem, but not ban SD. If we need ban SD, I don't think bitcoin has the scalable future that most people once imaged.

Aren't we going to have a forkfest again?
No, because 0.7 won't accept it. And right now 0.7 miners are the majority. So they will ignore that block and keep mining.

If not, why not?
BFL ASIC still does not exist, and other producer so far shipped only a handful of ASICs. So, by the time more will be delivered and you receive one, difficulty will skyrocket and the profit drop
