1661  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking For Advice On Opening My Own Bitcoin ATM Business on: November 13, 2015, 08:03:56 PM
Hey Guys, my Grandfather wants a business plan put together and is looking for some sales numbers from current owners.  If anyone currently operates one or more machines could they possibly share some sales information that they have built?

I am looking for numbers related to...
Initial period sales aka first, second, third months etc.
premium charges (what do you charge over spot).  Any other costs associated.
Current sales.  Are they increasing, staying stagnant, going down?  Average buy and/or sell order?

Thanks to everyone who is willing to share information.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is there to get into now that mining is for the rich? on: November 13, 2015, 07:51:31 PM
Mining isn't just for the rich if you know what your doing.  Keep a close eye on the goods section and you can snag some good deals here and there, definitely enough to keep a good sized farm going if you know the different units and their current prices.
1663  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] ►►► 3 x 2013 Lealana coin - 3 DAY AUCTION ◀◀◀ on: November 13, 2015, 07:32:29 PM
.34BTC with a small request.  I am leaving for vacation on Sunday the 15th, if I win the auction can we delay shipping until after I get back the following Sunday?  I can pay after auction ends on Saturday.
1664  Economy / Lending / Re: Need $10 BTC loan - thanks in advance on: November 13, 2015, 05:06:48 PM
hmmmm this might be a noob question, but what kind of things do people offer as collateral, and how do you secure the collateral?

collateral can basically be anything that has value.  The kinds of things that work best are cryptocurrencies and forum accounts.  Physical items can be used (although for this small of a loan, the shipping involved would not be worth it).  Usually these items are either given to the person funding the loan or a trusted escrow party.
1665  Economy / Gambling / Re: I just won 13.3 BTC! Life is good on: November 13, 2015, 12:00:16 AM
I am gambling for a while with bitcoin but i've never won some big amount until now! I won't say that i am some expert, i just got lucky couple times in a row! I am now proud owner of 13.3 BTC! Time to celebrate!

Wow!!!! What a success story. How much was your bankroll and what site did you gamble on?

Remember to keep your earnings!

Yeah i am so excited right now! I started wih 0.9 BTC and went down to 0.7. After that only up!
I was playing at Bitcoin Beveren (http://bitcoinbev.com)

Would you mind posting a Txid of your payout?  I have never heard of that site before which would be weird since they are claiming over 9000 active members and I have heard of most bitcoin websites, but not this one.
1666  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Is investing and participating in a ponzi illegal? on: November 12, 2015, 02:05:43 AM
Please do not spread FUD when you don't know what your talking about.  There are very clearly laws and rules that must be abided by.  Bitcoin is a currency, no more, it does not mean do whatever you want and get away with it.   If you do something against the law, you will be prosecuted.
You are by far the dumbest person I've come across on this forum.
You are posting on a BITCOIN forum, do you realise that? Bitcoin is decentralised, there is no LAW. There is no GOVERNMENT.

If you are a citizen of any government you still abide by their laws, regardless of if you are using Bitcoin or not. If you live in a tinfoil house in the middle of the ocean then sure, you can do anything you want with your Bitcoins. Otherwise, you still need to abide by the laws of your country. Bitcoin ponzi schemes have been busted by local governments in the past.

That's also not entirely true because if you transact with someone from another country that has laws that you are not following, you can still be prosecuted.

Furthermore, rychallenge doesn't seem like a very knowledgeable individual.  This forum absolutely abides by laws and has to comply with, lets say, the government asking for any and all IM's/posts/IP addresses from any user they want to know about, for just about any reason they could imagine.  And I really hope you are joking when you say your safe behind TOR, because if your serious, then you really don't know much about how the internet works.
1667  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Is investing and participating in a ponzi illegal? on: November 12, 2015, 12:16:41 AM
Running a Ponzi scheme is illegal.  I don't know a single country where that is not true.  Plus, by accepting investments from countries where it is illegal (aka US), you are now against the laws of the U.S.  Investing in a Ponzi is not illegal, at least if you don't know if it's a Ponzi. I honestly am not sure about the rules if you know its fake and still invest, I can't imagine charges would be brought against you, plus how would that ever be proven?
If you operate a ponzi in the Bitcoin community you are frowned upon but it is against no law. Bitcoin has no laws, as clearly you are forgetting. No one cares about the US law or any governments here. That is not what Bitcoin was made for.

Please do not spread FUD when you don't know what your talking about.  There are very clearly laws and rules that must be abided by.  Bitcoin is a currency, no more, it does not mean do whatever you want and get away with it.   If you do something against the law, you will be prosecuted.

1669  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: November 11, 2015, 11:57:32 PM
It was a time that it was very easy to scam.  You had stupid people who don't know much about electronics and what it actually takes to make an ASIC coupled with buyers who are cash heavy from making a lot on bitcoins first run up.  Together it created an environment that led to many companies putting out no or sub par products and taking in a lot of money.  Each story is slightly different, but it ultimately ends with large losses to the customers and the companies doing everything they can to protect themselves, which was basically not caring about the customer.  Basically a bad story in bitcoins history.

BA was about the worst of them all.  Tons of promises made that they didn't intend to keep with the lack of talent needed to actually make a working device.  Greed thrown in there somewhere as well didn't help.  This was basically an organization of thieves, liars, and scammers with the main goal to hurt hard working people and enrich themselves.  Just horrible horrible people in this world.
1670  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Canada - Looking to purchase 200 Bitcoins... on: November 11, 2015, 04:43:12 AM
I can sell to you over Western Union, we would make multiple transfers to protect both parties, amounts of 2k USD or less each time.  I would pay WU fees on each transfer of 2k, but you need to purchase at 1.05% over coinbase price.

Let me know if your interested and we can start working out a deal.

Thanks,

1671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still keep a fiat retirement account? on: November 10, 2015, 03:52:03 AM
I absolutely keep a retirement account.  It scares the hell out of me when you hear facts like 60% of American's don't even have $1000 saved, much less a retirement account.  My employer makes contributions into it as well, so why wouldn't I have one? Assuming bitcoin continues to take off, I would hope that my fund managers would invest in bitcoin and I could reap the rewards, and if it fails, then I have my retirement money to fall back on.

Currently at the age of 26, I am estimating needing close to 6 to 7 million to retire properly at age 65.  Long way to go, but that's why you start it now, so you have time to let it compound.  Also that's minimum, I would eventually like to buy a condo in Hawaii and Myrtle Beach.  That is an extra 2.5M and 500k respectively.  That seems like a large amount of money, but I plan to be a millionaire by the time I am 40 by continuously maxing out my Roth IRA contributions and then pouring the excess into my 401K.  If you can learn to live without needing that money, it is really easy to save and you never even know its not getting paid to you.

My Roth if maxed out from now till Im 60 would only get my $650k.  I would rather use the money to buy real estate.  I guess your plan is to just do it all?  I kind of like that, guess I could keep my Roth as a supplemental plan to my overall wealth building strategy.  Just wondering if the $5500 a year would be better off elsewhere.

You must be around 37 to 38 then?  I thought about that and it seemed off, but that makes sense if your older.  Just 5500 a year with 8% interest puts me at 1.6M at 65.  Not a bad start. I don't have time to manage real estate unfortunately.  I also don't have the skills to do regular maintenance unfortunately as well.  I would love to own real estate and rent out units, but I just don't have the necessary skills to maintain the units.
1672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I start a crowdfunding here without ruining my reputation? on: November 10, 2015, 03:21:02 AM
Fair warning, as soon as someone starts begging or posting their btc addy asking for donations, they are quickly labeled a scammer, hit with neg trust, and possibly banned depending on where you post it.  I would suggest you not bother, as you probably will get little to nothing anyway, and just go the traditional route and get a student loan.  Be very wary though and read through them thoroughly.  My wife and I are currently stuck paying about 95K on loans with over 8% interest because her parents screwed us.  So just do your homework and learn how the loans work and you'll be fine.

1674  Economy / Auctions / Re: PROFIT BOT v1.05 on: November 09, 2015, 07:25:20 PM
First of all, think about what his post says.  this bot beats the site.  This right there should start sending off warning bells and sirens as that is impossible.  You are statistically guaranteed to lose in the long run when gambling.  Anyone who says otherwise is either trolling or has no idea what they are talking about.  His method to make money is to make small bets a lot.  Anyone who knows anything about statistics can easily tell you that this is the best way to have the least chance to make money.  All you will do is elongate your loss.

This appears to be software that is run on your computer.  Always be wary of downloading or clicking any links to external sites as they are probably trojans or keylogging software.  You will probably be robbed/scammed by purchasing or downloading this.
1675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Questions about Venmo on: November 09, 2015, 06:41:45 PM
I'd just assume venmo is like paypal in which it is fully reversible.  I'm not sure if they can withdraw money from your bank account in the case of a chargeback, but I wouldnt leave any venmo balance or my account linked to find out.

Yea, that was what I was worried about.  I have never used it before and honestly just kind of heard about it when this guy asked for me to accept it.  I don't think I am comfortable accepting it for bitcoin payments.  Seems like a neat idea for friends to split bills or pay rent or something, but not if you don't know the other party who is paying you.

I think I have to classify it similar to Paypal and not accept it.
1676  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] $80 PayPal [W] BTC! on: November 09, 2015, 06:40:22 PM
I believe this was the same guy who wanted a loan with no collateral and a sob story earlier this morning.  Now he is wanting to buy bitcoin with paypal, presumably to purchase Fallout 4.  Why wouldn't the user just go and purchase Fallout 4 with the paypal or withdraw to his bank account and then purchase?  It all leads up to me believing he is trying to scam someone.  Beware.

1678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Questions about Venmo on: November 09, 2015, 03:55:39 AM
Hello,

I sell locally on localbitcoins and meet up with people to do cash trades.  I have had someone contact me wanting to use Venmo as a payment source and have done a little research but wanted others opinion, hopefully users of the service, on the merits of trading with it.

From someone I talked to, he says that if the buyers Venmo account was funded with a credit card, then he could easily claim fraud and the money would be reversed.  If the account was funded with a bank account, then they usually do not reverse the transaction.  Has anyone had any experience with reversals through Venmo?  What if I do small amounts and then just withdraw to my bank account every time a payment comes in?  Can Venmo take it back out of my account if the buyer tries to reverse payment?  The buyer is saying he can provide proof of ID and bank account balance, but I don't understand why he would not just be open to withdrawing the money into cash and meeting me?

Thanks anyone for help or advice.
1679  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 07, 2015, 05:05:27 AM
2 days in a row with the lowest blocks found (only 22).

It's a very bad luck (finding block) or something else ? The average is around 28-29 blocks per day, right ?
The average last week was 28 blocks, yes. edit: but that includes the last three lousy days as well--the November 1 blocks coming it at 37 brought that average up significantly.

Its all an average man.  2 days of bad luck is not uncommon and as actually very likely.  Look at the months range to get an idea of where the pool is at.
1680  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 04, 2015, 04:10:28 AM
I'm unable to withdraw BTC from my Bitfinex account, getting the cryptic:

"Error 500
Something went wrong.
We have been alerted and we will address the problem as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Is anyone else having issues with BTC withdrawal?

I withdrew about 6 btc earlier today with no issues.  Probably something small they just need to fix.
