1661  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking Additional loan: 6 Days @ 0.01-0.03btc @ 175% Interest. + Alternative on: May 08, 2016, 04:46:37 PM
As of 6 hours ago, lender pm'd me asking for an additional 0.025btc-0.030btc to lend to him in addition too the 0.075btc that he has on loan from me.
So in total he is asking 0.100btc-0.105btc total to be loaned to him @ 200% interest to be paid back in 3-5 days.
I am questioning: Why didn't you just ask for this amount in the first place instead of repeatedly asking for more?

Probably because he is not going to pay it back so is pushing his luck for every satoshi he can get before the account gets nuked.
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: May 08, 2016, 04:24:11 PM
This is the biggest lie of all cryptocoins - that these coins are more convenient for spending than fiat money. It works only if you buy illegal (drugs) or barely legal (webcam girl show) stuff. All the other things are better to purchase with VISA or Paypal, because they protect customers. In Bitcoin et al. it's merchants who are protected. The case is different if customer = machine, because they can't buy stuff with "paper" money.

I agree, the other issue is that people love to say bitcoin is much cheaper than paypal etc due to lower fees during transmission but the they forget to factor in the buy/sell spread. On localbitcoin for example it is around 7%
1663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 08, 2016, 10:19:33 AM
Why would the fact that China is basically controlling mining do anything to Bitcoin?

The whole concept of bitcoin was based around decentralization.

If China controlls a large % of the hash power then it would only take the collaboration of a few to hit the dreaded 51% control point
1664  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: May 08, 2016, 09:37:13 AM

this year, be patient, after the halving, a big hype will push the price up, all i care is the enw bottom that will see the light not the ath not the dump after it not anything else

And what happens after the halving hype dies down, price crash?

Is everyone going to dump on the halving, what if the halving is allready priced in and no significant price increase is seen (which I think is better long term)

1668  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: May 06, 2016, 06:13:48 PM
Gold can be produced, and alchemy is real to an extent.  There is a lab that uses nuclear power to create gold.  The issue is that it currently costs $4,000 per gram to make and production capacity is extremely limited.

Would that gold then be radioactive thus not ideal to create a ring for the future wife unless she is well insured  Cheesy
1669  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER BUSTED: User rexpelis on: May 06, 2016, 05:44:31 PM

1670  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: May 06, 2016, 05:42:21 PM
Gold is great for storing wealth, but not much beyond that.

Gold is now up 20% this year to date.

My stack is doing quite well although I have no intentions of selling it any time soon.
1671  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER BUSTED: User rexpelis on: May 06, 2016, 01:22:22 PM
YOU ARE SO FUNNY WITH YOUR BOUGHT ACCOUNT NO ONE WILL DO WHAT YOU ARE ASKING

If it was a bought account the password would have been changed and his user profile is not showing that.

Pretty obvious who the scammer is here and its not Justin00

YOU ARE SO FUNNY WITH YOUR BOUGHT ACCOUNT NO ONE WILL DO WHAT YOU ARE ASKING

That where your wrong.

agree, shill bidding is purely for the aim to extort additional funds from forum members and bang out of order.

If you have a minimum price in mind set a clear reserve or start price.
1675  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world Economy Collapse this year? on: May 04, 2016, 08:30:17 PM
No the economy will not collapse for sure, I even think the bitcoin is gonna rise and the economy will also rise this year.
I think we can see some light bulbs at the end of the tunnel with the economical crisis.

Yep,

$17 trillion debt and climbing.
More QE on the way.
Zero interest rates.
Negative interest rates now becoming a reality in some countries.
Venezuela just defaulted.
Greece just been refused latest bail out.
EU about to fall apart (brexit hopefully)

But everything is fine lol.

Truth is the world economy is broken and there is no fixing it without a reset of world debt.

1676  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: May 04, 2016, 07:38:18 PM
The big problem is that the top 1% and those with power hold gold not bitcoin.  China/Russia are grabbing gold by the tonne not hording satoshis.

If bitcoin were to gain anywhere near mainstream adoption and seen as a threat it will be either regulated to death (through exchanges etc.) or just banned completely with stiff penalties if caught.

My honest belief is that bitcoin is just the beta testing phase of government/banker controlled cryptocurrency, and when that currency is ready to be deployed it will be the death of bitcoin.

Money = power and those that control it are not just going to hand it over to a decentralised currency they dont control.

Also Gold is seen as the ultimate form of wealth,

Why is bitcoin always visualised as a gold coin?
Why all the "bitcoin or gold" threads, why not "bitcoin or copper/corn/ or any other commodity

The beauty of gold is zero third party risk.  No banks, networks, blockchain, miners, power, computer systems required.  You hold it and you own it, fire proof, water proof, emp proof. bury it for 50 years then dig it back up and it will still look exactly the same.
1677  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: May 04, 2016, 05:40:26 PM
Also note Only limited number of bitcoins can be mined (21million approx.)
Gold is  un limited  and better choice  Shocked

There is no shortage of bitcoin as its just a number and infinitely divisible.

Gold is not unlimited hence why it has held value for thousands of years.
1678  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: May 04, 2016, 03:53:29 PM
As a store of value The total number of bitcoins that can be mined has been preset at 21 million, whereas the amount of gold that can be mined is a more complicated question. Over time, the increase in the supply of gold has increased at roughly 1-3% per year, but on a short-term basis there can conceivably be a lot of volatility in the price of gold due to new discoveries. Of course, as a new technology, bitcoin is subject to much more volatility than gold. But over the long run, given the fact that no new bitcoins will be mined after the 21-millionth, we can expect it to ultimately serve as a better store of value than gold.

There is no shortage of bitcoin as its just a number and infinitely divisible.

Also as its just software the hard limit of 21 million coins could be changed with a few lines of code which would beyond your control.  People say this will never happen but never underestimate human greed, especially when the big miners start applying some pressure or bribing the right people.

Why not provide a signed message from the addresses holding your 4800BTC

Got that gut feeling you wont be able to for some reason.

Im sure everyone is waiting to see this proof Wink

p.s. that jr/newbie feedback on your account isnt exactly convincing  Cheesy Cheesy
1680  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: May 02, 2016, 11:38:55 AM
For the short to medium term I'd like to stick with silver, so neither.

I'd consider bitcoin a long term bet, with gold. However gold doesn't have any industrial demands so... Who knows.

Apart from 303 tonnes used annualy in electronics.

86 tonnes used in other industrial processes.

40 tonnes used in denistry.
