1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Times when I visit casinos Versus When I don't on: January 13, 2023, 04:53:42 PM
Let's be little honest here, when most people are actually starts to gamble either its online or offline is when greed hits them so hard which drives them to gamble and to become rich by overnight but in my opinion its not the best time to gamble at all cause we may try chasing loss if we didn't expect that and keep trying until we exhaust the funds.

What is the best time will be in my opinion is just gamble when you're happy, because it maybe your lucky day so who knows the luck can hit you while gambling as well and you already said you're in a happy situation.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your emotions balanced especially regarding Bitcoin on: January 13, 2023, 03:14:10 PM
You have to be balanced no matter what and if you can't then you won't be a successful investor for long time period. Personally I don't take anything too personally because its a loss of money not the end of this world and we know money can be earn later and we did it already so just take it easy and be cautious all the time while making investment choices.
1683  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 90% of India's largest crypto exchange funds are in Binance wallet on: January 13, 2023, 10:46:58 AM
Binance owns Wazirx too so it's logical to see why 90% of their reserves are in Binance's wallet because it's like a parent company.

You aren't the only one who isn't surprised with this news. Because Binance owns WazirX, it is just logical or not surprising that its funds are kept in Binance blah blah blah. What? So it is now a sound business decision to put all your eggs in a single basket? So, when Binance's wallet is in trouble or compromised, everything else will also be in trouble? That doesn't so logical to me. After all, even if WazirX is owned by Binance, it is more or less operating independently.

If Binance wallet gets compromised then it will impact the whole crypto market prices where there is no doubt of that but looking from the company's perspective they keep their funds with them and they claim their funds are safe in their cold wallet even if they hack attempted against binance it didn't lose a huge part from their holdings and it has SAFU too so users trust in case of hack the users will be refunded the lost value but after all, "not your keys not your coins" makes sense all the time.
1684  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 90% of India's largest crypto exchange funds are in Binance wallet on: January 12, 2023, 05:49:27 PM

AFAIK, future of centralized exchange in India doesn't seem to be promising because the government implemented 30% tax rates last year which forced everyone to move to other trading mediums like p2p, and also the high-level staff of Wazirx also moved to Binance or something else so I don't really be surprised if many of Indian exchanges dust their bite this year or soon.
1685  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: January 12, 2023, 03:15:28 PM
I prefer to be a business owner but if the job is paying a good amount of money then why wouldn't I take it?
I like to be a business owner because they hold their own time unlike being an employee they need to be on time.
And when you are a business owner even if you decide to take a leave or you would still have an income unlike when you're an employee when you leave or skip work it would affect your salary.
No one is going to make more than the owner if its profitable so as an employee we will get the basic salary of contract we signed up by the company and the progress of salary hike depends on our skills, productivity to the company but its safer because we will get minimum pay every month or week.

Being an employer or business owner comes with less physical task and more mentally stressful circumstances for example if you're a realtor then competitive one will try to overcome your success and they will keep doing it everyday so you have to work on it everyday if you don't want to left behind. And don't think being an owner means we can take leave whenever we want and expect to be in profits.
1686  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A new godfather virus for android that steals data from cryptocurrency applicati on: January 12, 2023, 11:54:48 AM
This news is really important for traders and users who think that their account is ultimately secured because they enabled the 2FA Security feature and much research proved bypassing 2FA is possible in one or many ways and this is one of its kind.

I think the device authorization security feature can be effective while dealing with this kind of attack so even if the hacker gets the victim's 2FA code still the authorization is needed when the account is logged into an unknown device, I saw this in some exchanges but expect to have in all of 'em.

1687  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: January 12, 2023, 11:21:36 AM
It is true that some people have become rich through crypto trading in the recent times. But considering the high risk involved in trading, do you think it's proper/wise to trade with borrowed funds as your capital irrespective of your trading experience?

Stupidity

Nothing I can say beyond these words if someone is doing as you said, trading is highly profitable as per the paper but even with tons of experience and skills/knowledge it is impossible to achieve consistency in the trading success rate, and attempting that with money is not really yours is taking death leap.
1688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: at bitcointalk.org you have to be mentally strong. on: January 11, 2023, 10:12:21 PM

1: don't be shy when we express opinions, or questions.

2: you have to be mentally strong when someone criticizes you harshly.
and don't be hurt.

3: when discussing, don't get carried away by negative emotions.

4: if our post
removed by moderator don't be discouraged. so by deleting our posts it should be a lesson so that in the future we will be good and quality in posting.

I hope my post is useful for all of us, especially beginners who are newer than me. I'm ready to be corrected, or if my post is not useful, I'm willing to delete my post by the moderator.

That is quite a lot to say in just 10 days of your bitcointalk's journey so far.

1. But before asking the question try to explore the question is already asked in the past by someone so you can avoid the spam.

2. Don't take anything too seriously because this is just an online forum.

3. If the criticism is right then accept and use it to make yourself better.

4. If your posts are deleted by mod then probably it is for spam so don't take it for granted because repetition of multiple deletion will result into temp ban.
1689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges lie to you! on: January 11, 2023, 06:30:24 PM
I feel like this is a new trend where exchanges are trying to make users feel like holding coins on their own devices is risky.

This and what CZ said about the 99% of people and self-custody are lies. I have an opposite claim. 99% of people who lost cryptocurrency are people who willingly sent it to a scammer, either an exchange, a cloud mining service, a bitcoin doubler or a fake mixer.
Your crypto is not safe in the hands of someone else!
Its just a sample of what banks did to us in the past now we are in the position of accepting what bank says but they're making money from our money whereas the customer looted in lot of ways like hidden fee, monthly/yearly charge, late payment fee, transfer fee, convenience fee and the list is endless.

The decentralized monetary system is really build to fight against this but on the go people forget the real vision and just focusing on the returns alone but especially the message mentioned in OP is sent to every users at the time of collapse to stop people from withdrawing and again they never afraid to lie to us.
1690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its trading on exchanges. on: January 11, 2023, 04:43:38 PM
This year promises to be a year of big regulations from the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. If bitcoin is recognized as a commodity, then it should be traded under the same rules as oil, gold and other similar goods. Therefore, bitcoin may be banned from trading on many crypto exchanges until these exchanges receive the necessary licenses.Where am I wrong?
The centralized exchanges will get whatever license required for the regulations of government because its ultimately profitable business and I don't think exchange will lose it in a way just like that.

Apart from exchanges we can also trade on other platforms especially p2p so the price may become higher with such regulations and its good for the investors.
1691  Other / Meta / Re: Why my thread is locked? on: January 11, 2023, 03:24:26 PM
I unlocked it and moved it to off topic. I think you're really reaching to try make that thread somewhat relatable to Gambling discussion but I don't blame you because that's what that board has become. At this point it probably should just be renamed Sports Discussion.
I bet now the thread will receive hardly any comment/replies which proves that thread mainly used for spamming and nothing more but OP if you intention is not really to create spam but most users especially in gambling section took far away and I think many more threads should be moved in such a way to cut those posts from weekly quota. Cool
1692  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Are Some Of The Most Efficient Ways To Invest My Bitcoin Earnings? on: January 10, 2023, 07:11:44 PM
Let me tell this is what you're saying, you're earning cryptocurrencies and now you want to invest bitcoin into cryptocurrencies which can give more bitcoins than you deposited.

Yes you can and the primary choice is trading where you can start with as low as possible and convert it into a big sum but its not easy though and investment platforms like something staking or others not really preferable unless you have tons and money and can't able to manage it as your active investments so you're settling a part for low returns over a period of time.
1693  Other / Meta / Re: Why are account farmers still left to roam free in the forum? on: January 10, 2023, 05:37:50 PM
Having multiple accounts is allowed by the forum rules so there is no reason to ban him or trash the account sale thread but looking at his thread it seems he is not really selling anything just trying to lure people who want to buy account and steal their money and obviously no forum escrow is accepting account trade deals so its just only used to show as real trader.
1694  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 10, 2023, 02:29:59 PM
I have been watching this drama since last night and I don't really want to blame OP for his mistake because everyone makes mistakes and sometimes it can ruin our entire progress which took years to build but as everyone said you holds the responsibility of paying it back to the company that is the only way to prove your not guilty.

Sometimes everything works against us and that's the life so don't lose your heart and think what you can do further and about your system I think its better to take back-up and flash the OS as soon as possible instead of looking for clipboard malware or something, and move whatever funds and any sensitive information stored should be moved to a new wallet and document.to ensure its safety.
1695  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining at home on: January 08, 2023, 05:55:21 PM
If you calculate the electricity bill for the amount of electricity that is consumed to mine a bitcoin, it can be seen that there is no profit in mining bitcoins.
It really depends on the cost itself. Some miners can have their own power source that doesn't rely on the national power grid, for example. I heard some miners use hydropower to run their farms. While that is rare, the fact that those mining farms keep operating means either they earn decent profit or they believe they can sell BTC for a profit later. CMIIW.

If you calculate the electricity bill for the amount of electricity that is consumed to mine a bitcoin, it can be seen that there is Many countries have already tried to do Bitcoin mining but because of the huge electricity bills they have turned away from Bitcoin mining.
What do you mean by "many countries"? A nationally controlled mining farm? Is there data related to this information? As far as I know, most people refer to their pools name or something similar. Some news even reported that top miners are still making millions last year, albeit significantly lower compared to when BTC was at its high.
I think he is referring people from different countries, bitcoin mining isn't no more profitable for individual miners who spend 10K or 20K to build their grids because I witnessed many tried in 2018 and eventually failed later so they sold their devices and able to save atleast half from their capital.

Mining profits depends on electricity rate in your country, what is the actual climate where the grid is going to be located and how long you can hold the mined coina to get maximum potential profits.
1696  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 08, 2023, 04:31:17 PM
That's really too high for onion, recently I bought a kg for a dollar and that's pretty good deal.

But clearly I know the prices of groceries are higher than what it used to be which is even beyond the inflation rate, for example cooking oil doubled in price when I compare the price of 2020 and fuel almost 40% hike, milk 30%, rice 40 to 50% and etc so this isn't good for middle class especially one who earn money via salary.
1697  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why does celebrity marriage frequently end in divorce?  on: January 08, 2023, 07:18:19 AM
Why does celebrity divorce happen so frequently in our today's society?
we have realized that a significant portion of celebrity marriages fail. This is the inquiry that has been posed by numerous individuals in the past. Some people think that living the life of a celebrity gives one a stronger sense of control. Some people also think that it is harder to develop sincerity because of the celebrity way of life. Some also think that the celebrity lifestyle is a byproduct of capitalism, some also argues that infidelity might be a major factor as to why celebrity couples marriages don't last.

Celebrities are actually financial independent so when there is a misunderstanding between them they don't hesitate to get separated and wants to live their life as what they want whereas a commoner may adjust if their partner is not being in a way but only for a while.

Another important reason is money, they use it to avoid paying the taxes and in extreme cases they use it as a weapon to loot the husband's wealth even if they contributed nothing towards building it just because the laws are designed in that way.
1698  Other / Meta / Re: My contribution to a near-perfect Merit-based ranking system for Bitcointalk on: January 07, 2023, 09:15:58 PM

If I understand you correctly, you mean demerit should reduce the poster merit or how will it going to affect the poster? Well, if it should reduce the merit of the poster then the forum should be ready to accommodate hatred among members.
Demerit is an option when someone feel the post that made is completely zero value but still bypassed all the forum rules so can't be considered as spam still not really any use to have one which is more effective too because it doesn't eliminate the spam but also create a fear among the users who doesn't contribute to the forum but to be honest its really too much to have in a public forum and also it may bring more hatred towards the fellow members so current system is doing its job and almost eliminated the spam and account farmers.

1699  Other / Meta / Re: My contribution to a near-perfect Merit-based ranking system for Bitcointalk on: January 07, 2023, 06:24:30 PM
I think having demerit button also will make the merit system as complete so we don't need to have another system likes/dislikes features of social media. But its quite hard for me to understand what OP is trying to say or I am missing something and I have a doubt how can we classify a post as no fault?

Already theymos clearly mentioned if you're willing to merit a post then you can and it has cap value of 50 per user so it stops the abuse so making it more perfect may create lot of confusion among users.
1700  Other / Meta / Re: What one change would you like to see in bitcointalk in 2023 on: January 07, 2023, 04:50:32 PM
One rank above the Legendary is my wish!

I believe it will be a good thing to do for the members who contributed a lot to the forum and also it will encourage the legendary to post more to reach that super recognition rank.

Is it really necessary, mate?

I think it is not needed since we are able to know the members who contributed a lot from their merit numbers. Also, the members who have a certain achievement, have a special badge.

For example:

- taufik123 has a special badge as the winner of the art contest in 2019.
- fillippone has a special badge as the winner of Pizza day in 2022.

Why not? For example LoyceV earned more than 10K merits but he still holds the legendary rank as everyone who has 1K merits but this is a big difference in the numbers and how much they contributed to the forum.

Ofcourse we can get it from their merit counts but if there is another rank with 2500 merits or 5000 merits criteria which will give the recognition for their contribution and also differentiate from 1K members, anyway I don't think theymos is interested in adding ranks but I just expressed what I would like to see.
