1761  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: March 10, 2023, 11:37:17 AM
Right now price is trading at the 200 day average which is not especially positive or negative in its movements, this is some guide long term and its possible for price to turn around before it reaches 19k.   The problem at present might be banks have sold off which puts more stress on finance then the rest of the market and I suppose that has to include crypto and BTC despite being especially distinct from FIAT operations.
Jan 12th area was most recently 19k and further back its reasonable a foot hold is found here but with weekend approaching this might not be clearly established until next week.
1762  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC bulls back? on: March 09, 2023, 11:54:59 PM
BTC is still a speculative asset to the majority of the market though there is a base line usage its likely to trade at a lower price purely on that alone.   Risk appetite retracting leads us back to the lows of 2022 excluding the FTX drama which arguably still remains a fake out.   19k I think is reasonable which is the autumn lows and similar pricing, thats the lower range now and I hope we can still track upto 25k or similar for a higher parallel to the lows.
2023 will be a trading range type year, thats still more positive then the trend down of last year but its not the sunny skies some may have hoped for.

Nice for the immortals out there.

F to pay respects Tongue for everyone else wanting a rolex but also I would argue the modern day clones of high end watches are (often) so good only a few people notice the difference or care tbh.   I think like the Lambo most people would be taking the BTC cash equal to that prize at the time of winning, unlikely as it is to win most probably opt for cash and buy it themselves if wanted.

Heavy day on the BTC today, sadly all these attempts upwards failing to break through has throughly stalled us.  We must revise and redo the full range of prices for 20k, hopefully not much greater then that.   The FED heavily trimmed expectations as to any easy landing or however they phrase it, there is no easy path.  I do believe inflation continues and BTC just has to spend more time consolidating and forming support before rising through areas such as the 25k level or the 200 week average has to be taken as Ice over our heads at this point; we must break through and its not easy to do so.
Weekly bars, the lows of July and autumn are the outliers now, I think we can trace this area out as support and attempt 25k later.  So thats my range bet for this month probably.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 08, 2023, 11:59:48 PM
Everything he does is for publicity and really its a broadcast for the audience.   2000 is small fry to that guy if his viewing numbers are to be believed he gets maybe near 100k viewers just for turning on the stream which is larger then most.  I don't get why he is popular but betting is just a side deal for him.  Its content that matters, getting that many viewers consistently everyday is really a big deal with relatively low costs to do so; my guess he can cover any expenses for his entourage and does so ∴ dont take it absolutely serious.

The people who vote on the oscars still dont know who will win, only their opinion and perhaps other voters who are their friends.  I don't see it'd be a problem and if anything its the academy themselves who would judge whether a bet is in bad taste in any way.  They are risking their careers as you cannot vote without achieving a high level in your field in order to win that award, its worth its weight in gold so I doubt they would risk it.  Hollywood does have a problem with people leaking screeners to films though.
1766  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC deep continues for the next SIX Months. on: March 08, 2023, 11:07:59 PM
Its challenged, that doesnt make it without hope.   We can swim upstream despite the struggle BTC could do well but I think its going to struggle this whole year rather boom which some might hope for.  Today its declined from a trend set since mid Feb and so it seems to continue, brief rally and sell mostly amounting to sideways.
1767  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price guess for March on: March 07, 2023, 11:59:18 PM
BTC still keeping the same gradient of decline roughly since mid Feb, not breaking that trend or especially motivated downwards or able to break upwards.   Its a pullback but hardly an excessively negative move overall.

March 3rd was a Friday and with that large trade down, we have largely gone sideways and a decline with the trend is still not significant enough to note.  Lots of dojis, this is really not my favorite kind of move for BTC but its not too uncommon for a drift or skid sideways to happen and I count it negatively till we arrest the lack of direction.

I do not think the US are ready for a female president.

I'd rate that outcome as highly improbable also though its more an insult to the popular demographic then the candidates themselves.   There is also the important point the induvial matters most of all even with the possibly negative bias that a women has, its still about their speeches, the tone and feeling they invoke with their presence vs a crowd and aspirations voters might have.   Did we really think USA was going to elect Obama prior to his presidential run, that really didnt make sense to predict but it happened.   It began to make alot more sense when you were giving yourself the benefit of listening to the speeches of that person, Obama was way ahead in his ability to get popular response to his campaign points.

1769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 07, 2023, 10:42:44 PM
It was highly unusual thing to do, obviously he lost his temper but a slap is hardly an extreme for censure especially.    Oscars should thank him for the publicity raised as some commentators have noted Oscars have lost their lead advantage to other ceremonies and awards for relevance.  I know the Oscars is often largely guided by the most dominant theme at that time in society, the war in Europe would seem relevant, refugee plight and so on possibly.  Any film related to those topics might do better, I guessed Hopkins in his last Oscar win would do better because senior dementia has been of some highlight recently.
1770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: March 06, 2023, 11:58:27 PM
Savings should give a yield so its not advisable to speculate to this extent.  Someone very young with supported income, known outgoings and a life time of career earnings ahead of them might consider it viable to take this risk.  Also add in when you are young you are not risking as much, 60% of savings when you are 20 often isnt that much but at 60 its a silly risk when you will be retired soon.
The reason its speculation not investment as often misquoted when discussed is the return in active business is not there with a plain BTC holding.  To hold BTC is to speculate in a commodity of some sort, it could be quite positive experience and reasonable in many ways but there is no way to exclude the higher risk of buying into the idea of higher future demand.  The most certain investment to hold your own home in a modest way, this is demand you know the certainty of personally; consider other finance in parallel to that kind of certainty and known returns vs costs.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 06, 2023, 11:49:56 PM
Japan has demographic reasons why its challenged in any improvements, they have one of the oldest average age populations.  Somewhere like India with a majority of the population 30 or below should be able to improve far quicker with the mass of available people in the right age group.   That factor is probably a large part of what drives the eternal economy in footbal; that throws forward stars into world cup level football.  Clubs can buy stars, nations must produce quality at every level down to beginners to advance at their best.
1772  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Inflation Happening All Over the World At Once? on: March 06, 2023, 11:38:58 PM
Inflation or expansion of the monetary base is bad enough but loosening money supply while the actual supply of goods and consumption fell was quite extreme alteration to normal business.   Even now some parts in cars and other products are not still allowing the free flow of production, which elevates prices at all levels of the economy.   Demand for energy has risen and also we have seen supply removed via the problems and war in eastern Europe.  Similarly food and fertilizer has caused actual constriction to supply, all of this has helped alter prices probably long term.   Energy and food are both in demand growth so to get ahead of that again in order that prices reduce is not easy to do.
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In 38 Days, Freebitco.in is going to give out $200,000 in BITCOIN!!! on: March 06, 2023, 10:43:53 PM
More impressive thats its a regular thing but it has been the case Ive seen various lotteries have been operated to give out a grand prize such as a supercar or house.   That can be done sometimes as it has tax advantages and maybe its more profitable then selling the supercar or house to do so; I've definitely seen it done more then once.
The FBC draw for 200k or the car is either on the winners choice and usually they take the BTC payout as the car has delivery costs possibly.  The BTC payout gives interest immediately which is worth having so long as the winner is not suddenly at that moment very bearish on BTC prospects then maybe the car would make sense to take.
The interest paid would be about 0.35 BTC on top of the prize if retained annually, not enough yield to sway most people.  I have some tickets but would require extreme luck to actually take this, I hope anyway.
1774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: March 06, 2023, 10:35:26 PM
Quadrupling from here is still possible with various dramatic events like currency failure.  Some people live in countries where BTC has gone up every year just because their own national currency has been burnt to near destruction by poor economics and bookkeeping management of the country.  That scenario has happened in almost every country of the world at some point.
For 80k to occur in dollars this year from here, 3 months in would be more of an explosion then an acceleration.  It would be like testing the top speed of a car by driving the wrong way down a mountain, more damage then any possible good.   Could happen but I think I would be very worried along the way if it did, in theory BTC is becoming less volatile every year as it develops diversely.
1775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever won a prize in Freebitco.in Lottery? If yes, how much? on: March 06, 2023, 10:21:02 PM
Ive never won anything in big lotteries with FIAT cash either.  I bought lots of tickets for FBC lottery but not a million, thats something else.   I would consider 100k alot and a possible chance but there are so many players it probably is comparable to a national style lottery across a nation except its worldwide userbase.  The reason 200 ticket will turn up in winners is there a million instances of that size holder, thats how it occurs but for me to be the one in that group and a winner is what makes it still an unlikely event.
1776  Economy / Speculation / Re: What comes next for Bitcoin: $20K or $30K? on: March 06, 2023, 06:21:06 PM
Stalled at present and looking like down is a more likely option then up.  Could be a fake out type move rather then genuine sustained negative selling but right now I'm watching how it moves relative to various moving averages and this down trend line also.   Every time we've attempted upwards its failed to do so and resolved downwards, do that too often and it gets bumpy and falls off the track; action not likely to lead to 30k imo
1777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else agree that mtgox payout is keeping bitcoin down? on: March 05, 2023, 11:58:47 PM
If the BTC is confirmed as actively available it doesnt matter too much where its stored in particular.   If all supply is immediately flushed into exchange order books then sure it'll be a blip in the graph while its digested but its all pretty short term.   Other dynamics are why we are stuck in the 20k region and its most about people who bought and sold here previously.   Some people who thought 22k was the bottom are ready to cash out, till the scales tips towards new buyers and optimism in the market we have to stay here to serve the sellers.  That whole iterative process that constantly goes on to provide a price balance is more important then just one event from Mt. Gox, the news on that failure is years old so its not new and not systemic so its not that relevant especially.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 05, 2023, 11:04:44 PM
AI cannot recover what is lacking in the questions it is asked to answer, it will only return whats on google pretty much.  Mild assistance in a basic way if you are rushed that could be helpful in bringing up past results for relevant judgement, some sites already provide this kind of info.   To actually decide for you I dont think it will improve except to remove the basis you might have in voting emotionally.
1779  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members. on: March 05, 2023, 10:15:46 PM
Seen casino review sites before, more then one & probably there is loads and only a new site would be lacking some kind of review somewhere.  A forum is something different character to just reviews, I had a friend set up a review site decades ago and I wrote something for the site and so did others but dont think it ever took off I reckon because it was not interactive enough.    I used to write movie reviews but I never got enough feedback to make it interesting for me so havent done it for ages.  Reviews normally would be driven by traffic to the sites themselves, referal and advertising I guess; I would have to rate this forum as superior for being more independent.

Buying the Fun tokens is probably the cheapest route as its a long term yield and if you want more spins thats ideal, price was in the teens fairly briefly and rose alot from there.  I still think price can double actually over time but it will take alot of development to do so I guess, as BTC recovers first and then possibly other assets such as this one later.    I dont see the crypto bet for FUN token this month but I was going to guess we dont move much for March at least; pressure has us pinging off the walls of a fairly familiar range now rather then breaking up to 30k as had been hoped since year start.
