1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election on: September 07, 2023, 06:20:13 PM
The wall can only slow people down at best, I dislike the whole idea of immigration being seen as a great negative.  Like any commodity, labor has a cost to it and with a great rise it brings greater costs to the economy.  Quite ironically the immigrants are more often then not a benefactor to the country they seek to work in.  It is important for people to register properly and follow laws, that cannot be ignored but the wall is mostly a waste of time imo.  The desert itself is the biggest restriction and discouragement.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election on: September 06, 2023, 11:27:43 PM
LOL.. and how is it even possible for Robert Kennedy Jr. to run as a candidate in the 2024 POTUS elections? He is far behind Biden in the Democrat primary opinion polls.

I'd state it the other way round, its entirely necessary there is opposition to a candidate to ensure the best person is chosen for the job.  To blindly go with Biden because he has the numbers already would be a weakness to do so, it also makes the Republican victory more likely at that point.  Untested strength is a vulnerability seems a fair conclusion imo, the process is this way for a reason and part of it is discovery via discussion and votes shifting along the way.  Biden himself was not great in the polls originally, I didn't think he'd end up running personally.

freebitco.in

So is it true only freebitco does this kind of betting, I would have guessed many places.   I know it'd be related to population size of bettors to properly balance itself out, Ive bet this system on tiny sites and the odds become massively erratic at times.

iPhone despite its many flaws (according to me), that's the "best" phone there is out there because that's where people vote with their money.

Point there would be user interface, mobiles need to improve massively still but today they are worlds greatest advancement of computers to the common people.   This is probably true of many products, making it available, easily utilized by the average person is maybe the most important point to success.
I dont especially like Apple products but I had to respect they are greatly liked by people who otherwise would not intricately  use computers especially.  Maybe the same point applies to gambling sites, I want to place a bet in a minute without getting lost in various menus and options; it always seems I would be placing the bet vs time as a factor.

I checked myself for the 3rd of Sept and its not showing that days interest for some reason.  Maybe the orbit of the earth was irregular that day and 24 hours was not achieved, who knows as time is not linear anything is possible I assume nothing.  Satellites must account for the passage of time travel and internet traffic in some part goes via satellite such as Elon's starlink so who can say what happened for sure.  Someone knowledgeable on the theory of relativity can speak further on the possibilities.

I often get the number 9990 and never go above that or even touch 9997, it's very difficult to get it.  Cheesy

I agree and I disagree, thats my feeling also and Ive done a few spins.   However this is not like running up a hill and 9999 is near vertical so the hardest number to acquire.  In fact all the numbers are flat, equally probable and so surely one day both you and I are going to get any number we require for the highest prizes.  It has to happen ?  I believe 🕯️
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 06, 2023, 03:22:19 AM
The word comfortable is very hard to attached on gambling since you are risking money at all times even with small amount. Small bets means small wins

By comfortable I mean like a sniper lying prone taking his shot, they'll be a point they are in the zone and able to hit their designated target as per their job for their best aim with all factors in that moment vs wind random factor pushing their shot off; if they are distracted by rubbish beneath making them uncomfortable there's no way they are going to be as able to gain that focus.    Any distraction basically, any negative thought or if you lost prior and this upset your feel on this day this alone can throw all your bets off afterwards.
Sometimes it is better to stand up, go for a walk maybe a long walk maybe come back the next day but dont ignore that your best aim is not there always sometimes you will be tired and any number of reasons.  I expect to lose if the feel isnt right there for me hence also true that small bets small losses also right ?  Smiley
1006  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: September 05, 2023, 10:58:45 PM
Even sideways here for a decade would still be achievement and you will have to acclimatize to less adrenaline per year.   A different velocity would bring benefits actually, a more dependable price means more likelihood of structured order flow, you could order things that might take a month or more to arrive not fearing the crypto price changes.  The more stable the price, the more likely revenue and trade is facilitated by that stability.  Ironically a sideways price is probably stronger and in greater demand, that would raise price from that demand usually.
1007  Economy / Economics / Re: The Devaluation of fiat money is powered by Inflation on: September 05, 2023, 04:47:17 PM
Correct time frame for gold is about a decade, thats how long  its going to take to possibly setup a proper mining area and infrastructure to support the filtering and refinement of all your raw material.   If supply is taking ten years to come online it explains part of why the price can move so much before it starts to encourage more supply to come onlne.  Trying to judge it by weeks or months even and call it safe to invest I think is a mistake thats not fault of the element itself, alot of the pricing is speculation and reflection of the dollar.  We suffer the same effect in BTC and I try to seperate that rapid main market influence from the proper progression that BTC has over time.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 05, 2023, 04:28:11 PM
Breaking routine describes all those possible mistakes.  Not that it has to be unlucky just seems to go that way when you dont play the way you feel most comfortable doing so.  I would add small advice if you are out of your comfort zone, reduce size never be against in effect taking some profits by reducing the capital amount risked trying to win more.    I tend to stop after a while so I can return later otherwise getting too tired is a big one to induce unnecessary mistakes.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: September 04, 2023, 06:16:10 PM
I used to belong to a journal betting site.  No money placed on this site just predictions kept for the sake of reputation in predicting games.   Some peole with a high win rate in prediction would then go forward to running bet prediction services but some of us just did it for the sake of proving knowledge of the game.
Does not always have to be the case that a bet cant exist without money, I think people have alot invested in the game just by watching and a life time of experience and knowledge.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: September 04, 2023, 04:35:07 PM
For sure the whole fluidity of performance and the biggest thing with AI is the self improvement, the way they instruct the AI to teach and refine its own process.     To some extent we do already have the search engines crawling for data, we've had this 20 years.  I remember how bad the late nineties interlinked websites were, you had to know the exact address by word of mouth almost.  So we are advanced down that road already, what is most impressive is progression AI has beyond human understanding.
Last AI project I heard about is AI learning keystrokes not by sight but by sound.  They never taught it specifically only setup the learning to listen for distinction between each key, probability upto 90% success I think it did manage and part of that is the sequence of keys pressed so indirectly the AI was learning common language spellings.   Anyhow I mention this as I know someone for their degree studies had already conducted and performed this project however they did not use AI especially in this way; it was possible for humans to do this but AI was important in the refinement and to bring finesse to the project.
AI allows the programmer to just start the process not needing to entirely construct and complete it all.   For sports betting this would be big, we all have the ability to do this manually but its alot of work to collate results; statistics when done properly is higher mathematics not especially simple or any small amount of work to work as a task.  In large data but also development of results the AI would be a great assistance in constant monitoring and analysis.

I just tried normal use of the site and exchanged rp to wheel spins and then used it ok.  Just so you know if its specific or for everyone.
Bit of luck, got the 5000 tier reward on lotto tickets and I didnt buy that many spins so its a win overall  Cool   Stuck in a bit of a small gap for BTC price currently, the base reward wavering slightly as ping pongs around.  Someone had the theory we need to wait for 50 day average to catch up, its descending and until it meets and forces price to move we remain negative below it as some momentum in pricing, hence I will wait for a moment to speculate on price direction.  [Extrapolating rate of descent say 2 weeks timeframe that would equate to.]  I have a small positive bias in my opinion but dont tell anyone it'd be bad luck :p
1012  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: September 04, 2023, 12:55:25 PM
It hasnt fallen yet, to turn a ship around you must first come to full stop.  Its quite possible in 'fixing' any apparent flaws in the business it might be that he has to risk this appearance of failure at least.  I think its been said the platform continues to gain users, its only the doubts of advertisers that promotes the idea he has failed in some way.
I should add its not just quantity but the demographics of your userbase that can bring an advertising premium, I would probably use that to judge Elon Musk's tenure and if his emphasis on quality vs bot traffic he complained about is true.
1013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take your eyes off from the fall in price on: September 03, 2023, 11:51:19 PM
Theres really no set schedule to its moves, just because halvening is sometime in future we dont have to move in any direction particularly.   Everything before that event is speculation and afterwards yes some tightening.   We have no requirement but there is a presumption of a positive move, mostly I had this whole year chalked down to consolidation which is just where we compact the ground before even building on it.   Mostly we revise prices, we  build volume and in sum total even if slightly we gain enough assurance in this area to gain positive movement only in future.  Mostly thats how I view 2023 though I'd still call this positive and we actually moved out of the 2022 shadow, that was a large amount of momentum downwards so just now continual gratitude should be our correct attitude this whole year imo, patience pays Smiley
So in last months we move slowly but suddenly a fast break in either direction, this seems to have then reversed and we dont end up moving past 200 day average or whatever we hoped.  A nice positive move does need to set and prove solid, we cant say that so much after market has checked back its not held in revision hence we do find BTC repeats.   Mostly its sideways, the side of the box or boundary we are in on a short term basis is really quite tight about 25.6k to 26.1k and if we can move past either be more positive or looking for some action at that point.
1014  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: September 03, 2023, 11:37:00 PM
Someone told me the other week that BRICS is a new currency.  Wasnt its origins an investment note from a Goldman Sachs banker.  I realize the term got popular but Im not sure how much strength there is in this declaration besides a conference to discuss common aims.  I hope they find a common link and a greater trade balance between themselves but the old problem of Dollar reserve bias and requirement for liquidity of dollars trade internationally is still there so far as I know.
I think China and Brazil did a trade agreement recently, an attempt to make sure neither in each trade requires dollars but is it able to tie trade equally between themselves.  The two economies are different enough that its a real challenge to balance that trade and that problem is ongoing for the idea overall behind Brics so far as  I know
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 03, 2023, 11:25:25 PM
Judging your game while you play is probably the worst, trying to be helpful perhaps but only taking the fun out of playing.  Especially on a game that is random anyway, how can anyone really know the right way to play it when the results cannot be known.  A card game maybe, you can teach somebody new the reason to play it a certain a way but standing behind someone on the slots can be a quick way to get irritating and distract them from playing.
1016  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will you sell...next bull run? on: September 03, 2023, 04:15:29 PM
20k in 2017 equating to a potential 200k in the next few years I suppose could make sense but I'd rather guess BTC slows down in its trajectory or curve on the graph.  The figures achieved for an ATH will still be impressive but I wouldnt draw a straight line more of a cannon ball curve with less height gained over time.   We cannot easily estimate due to the Dollar itself altering greatly in the ten years after 2017 but suffice to say I do not believe in any hard dollar scenario.   Interest costs at elevated levels will consume the entire fiscal budget, its very likely repayment occurs via inflation and value losses to the population mostly common working family.
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: September 02, 2023, 11:59:32 PM
Its the uncertainty that I fear rather this scenario of clear wins and clear losses.  If it was so well defined then I could dodge the losses better but its always mixed in my experience.     I would say lower your bet size, at least half when stuck in these losing streaks and put this saved money towards the winning streak times.  If at all correct you will profit, it has to be worth a try as a strategy.
1018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: History of Gambling From Ancient Times to the Digital Age on: September 02, 2023, 11:31:05 PM
Irregular gambling has to be far more ancient then these examples, one off bets and wagers vs odds not especially outlined before the game.  Thats as old games itself I think.  The more regulated formal game with the tokens instead of money is something I believe did come with the Greek, Roman or similar empires as a form of leisure.  The regular amount of time spare to play the game and take the gamble became an industry in itself.  If you have regular rules then you have people who train to beat and perform best within those rules like sport, this is more modern type of gambling recognizable as what we have today.

I bought a hundred or so wheel spins today just because as somebody pointed out its not a big risk and always might win something more from it.  I did it in parts and adding up the winnings from a few dozen attempts gave a value equal to what I used up, so I lose nothing in trying really.    If you believe price of BTC will keep going down, what happens with the wheel spin purchase price is that its in line with the lowest or base prize so like the free wheel spins the reward goes up.  You could speculate that way though its quite small, theres at max 11% appreciation left there at the moment.
The end of price month bets,  FUN token I put down wild bets and so none paid but thats nothing big.  The BTC one as I said earlier it failed in its trajectory downwards, we just reverted to a more boring sideways but appearing negative range; my bets only paid on the lowest odds and it came out even and covered all my ranged bets.  Again nothing lost in trying just some fun guessing.
1020  Economy / Economics / Re: The Devaluation of fiat money is powered by Inflation on: September 02, 2023, 08:23:30 PM
Inflation will destroy an economy from the losses and impediment it introduces to the order flow.  If a price is not stable then each party producing, buying and distributing cannot be sure of their costs vs margins during a sale.   150% inflation is a failure, people will do anything to get away from that problem of constant losses.  Most likely only those connected to government or crime will be able to operate properly in the end.

gold has been proven to maintain asset values for hundreds of years, its value has remained even increased.
Gold doesnt go up in value, it has no yield either so it should not be kept for profit especially.  The biggest point is stability in that its inert and able to exist outside of these FIAT paper problems, also most of the world will accept gold so its a link to international trade.  People like to compare crypto with gold, they are different but its understandable due to similar advantages.
