1762  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder][BTCT.co] - KENILWORTH - Real World Mining Opportunity with Bitcoins on: September 24, 2013, 06:37:10 PM
I just sent Prendergast123 a PM.

They have not been online recent enough to see what's going on. I am sure they will see the situation and move to either Havelock or Bitfunder.

Smiley

they are listed on bitfunder, i dont know about havelock. Personally, I prefer BF.

I have one question about the transfer of shares,
It pretains to this;
Timestamp Of Transfer on BTC-TC:

how exactly do i create a timestamp of transfer? screenshot? will it be provided after I transfer?

apologies for what may seem a stupid question, but when I look at the asset transfer area on BTCTC it has explicit warning "Warning! Please be careful and double-check all input fields before submitting your transfer. All transfers are permanent!" so I would rather ask a noob question than lose my assets.

the rest of the instructions are very simple to understand, please clarify "timestamp" and tell me how.

look under your HISTORY tab and you'll find it in the transaction column.

NOTE: you'll get a timestamp after you've made the transfer and it will be in this format: 2013-09-23 18:20:06

thank you! will transfer right after i get my divs

Any thoughts and/or comments about a plan stemming from the recent btct.co news?
+1
1766  Economy / Speculation / FED announces it will stick with stimulus program---how will this impact BTC? on: September 18, 2013, 10:14:19 PM
I feel that they are just digging themselves deeper, print more money and inflation abounds. Things aren't working out and it is only a matter of time before the bottom falls out. (I predict very soon after Obama is out of office-always lay it on the next guy, amiright?) I feel kind of bad for welcoming news that will put millions of people into lives of penury, but I honestly believe this is the next step in galvanizing BTC as a viable alternative to the central banks and fiat  itself.

Thats my cave-man opinion...what do you think???

1767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Super Bowl Commercial for bitcoin? on: September 18, 2013, 10:05:35 PM
would be a tremendous waste of money. superbowl ads cost millions of dollars and THIS--->

is who will be watching going to get more beer/visiting washroom/hitting mute and blabbing with buddies. try fishing somewhere there are actual fish to catch.
1768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: REVELATION I JUST HAD ABOUT BTC!!! Read This on: September 17, 2013, 10:23:14 PM
one thing that might make n00bz think twice before ordering any mining hardware would be an app, or a webpage that calculates exactly how much each mining product would earn updated in real-time. even without factoring in power usage, the resulting numbers would be so depressingly shitty that NO ONE would dream of wasting their money on such larks. If you plugged in a BFL single today, what would it earn you? ~0.3 btc every 24 hrs? if there was a chart showing the decline in earnings for the same single over the last 6 months, everyone would easily see that making ROI is a dream. I wonder when the mining companies are going to start offering to buy up all the privately owned hardware? an app like i described above would certainly help them with this endeavor. lol.

1770  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Vancouver Bitcoin Meet Up (190 Members Strong!) on: September 05, 2013, 12:41:13 AM
We're trying something new, this week. Bitcoin nightclubs! We were able to arrange for entrance to be payable in Bitcoin, but we can't push too hard for the bar inside to accept without some guarantee that Bitcoiners are interested. This event will function as a test to gauge Bitcoiner interest in clubbing: http://www.meetup.com/bitcoinvan/events/134324172/

Date: Saturday, August 17
Starting time: 10:00 PM
Place: Gossip Nightclub, 750 Pacific Boulevard

Everyone gets a discount and free drink(s). I will take an extra couple bucks off if you pay in BTC. I didn't post that on Meet Up because they might be watching Meet Up, and I'm forbidden to do that. Wink

I lived in vancouver for about 12 years up until 2003 when i moved to victoria, but as I remember ANZA club was always amenable to grass-roots type of causes and organizations such as the bitcoin meet-up group. I went to many many fundraisers and charity events there, and I believe they have a very reasonable rental, door/bar split deal for the larger upstairs ballroom. the downstairs club would be good for smaller groups. you should look into it. its right near main and broadway, the heart of mount pleasant!

as for now i continue to try and promote btc here on the island, but people here are an odd combination of ignorant, arrogant, and obstinate. The anarchist bookstore wanted to hear NOTHING about it (!) when I approached them (go figure). It's like the people here think they are too smart to be open to any sort of idea that might be new to them. Victoria can be a real hick-town backwater. I'm having slightly better luck with some of the larger artist-run centres here...i will post any developments when and if they come!
1771  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: September 04, 2013, 09:56:25 PM
hmmmmm. i was having my doubts about ActM last week. Glad I kept a good chunk of shares. Nice to see vertical lines going straight up on the ActM charts.
1772  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMiner vs. ActiveMining; which do you prefer and why on: September 02, 2013, 06:22:03 AM
these updates are good; but...
i'm still like this;
30% actM
60%AM
35% labcoin

5% wildcards (kenilworth petamines etc.)

i got a good feelin!
1773  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMiner vs. ActiveMining; which do you prefer and why on: August 31, 2013, 01:13:14 AM
I guess I sort of answered my own questions...

- ditching activemining and buying labcoin now. :p
1774  Economy / Securities / ASICMiner vs. ActiveMining; which do you prefer and why on: August 31, 2013, 12:59:46 AM
I invest in both these securities, and find them to be strategically structured in similar ways. ActiveMining I got into earlier in its history so therefore I have reaped greater profits, yet ASICMiner has paid very good dividends as long as I've been on board (even though divs have dropped, still very nice)
My problem is, in the bitcoin world, especially the world of btc securities... there is not a hell of a lot of information available, and most of my news comes from here. I have to read through the sock-puppetry and FUD to try and glean what useful news I can. I have found that the ASICMiner threads are super technical, arguments about math etc. which, even though it is the worst sort of nerd-core pissing contests, still inspires faith in that actual tech-heads and people who likely understand the dev side of things are gravitating to ASICMiner (a good thing). Meanwhile, the activemining threads are all arguments by passthrough holders voicing their invalid opinions about what to do about supposed avalon rebates, if they even materialize. also many, many more sock-puppets on the activeminer threads.(not good)

I wanted to start this thread to create a forum for arguments for or against ASICMiner or ActiveMining, pros, cons, etc. A comparative survey, if you will. The respective forums for these two securities have become a cesspool of fanboyism, fantasy, weak attempts at market manipulation and butthurt FUD. They are impossible to read.

Lets do it in here and give everyone else a break, ok?

1776  Economy / Securities / Dumb Question??? on: August 29, 2013, 04:22:07 AM
Is it possible for me to move my shares between security exchanges without actually cashing out and re-buying?
Just wondering because I'm losing due BTC to the price disparity.
