ffs roadstress, this is AM security thread, not HW.

If AM boards are spontaneously combusting, in your mind that is irrelevant to the company selling them? Its not like this is the first such report.

exactly.

..in the hardware threads. I dont even think its been mentioned here. You'd rather have investors not know I guess.

I haven't found any reports of AM hardware catching fire. Not in hardware threads either. KfC however....thier chips catch fire occasionally, that is if you actually receive them (preorders from 3 months ago are just being produced, not even shipped yet)
1242  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: November 19, 2014, 10:45:38 AM
I could sell my holding of AMHash1 right now and make a profit when I include divs already recieved. I am tempted, just so I can say, for once in my life, that a BTC security actually made me a profit, but I'm going all the way with this because my position is so small and my profits almost negligible that its worth the risk to take the ride.

Many, if not most mining bond IPO's did well shortly after the IPO. Anyone who invested early in cryptx, gigavps and cex.io, and sold shortly after, did well. OFten times earning multiples of their investment. Anyone who didnt and went "all the way", lost the bulk of their investment.
Just sayin.

I hear you and I appreciate what you say. I am watching closely and do actually have my finger on the sell button, I may actually get out while I'm still golden, might watch it slowly dissolve. Like I said, my stake is so small any profits or losses will be insubstantial

KFC miner, that's funny!

Wait! Could satoshi be Col. Saunders?
1244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Churches accepting donations in Bitcoins? on: November 19, 2014, 10:25:16 AM
OP, you sound like a religious person so I'm assuming you go to a church of your choice. Why don't you approach your pastor and set him up with a wallet and place QR codes in the church. You would be tithing your time and knowledge, and like the old adage says; give a man a fish and he has a meal, teach him to fish and he can eat for a lifetime. Also, tell them Bitcoin Jesus sent you lol.

That is the right spirit, and it can improve bitcoin acceptance.

Instead of asking whether there are shops/restaurants/churches/charities taking bitcoin near you, why not asking your favourite shops/restaurants/churches/charities to start taking bitcoin? Smiley

Especially a church because the preacher has the attention of everyone in the congregation. I'm sure he could come up with some angle about god and technology where he could slip in a little Bitcoin wisdom into the sermon. In my experience preachers will use any excuse to speak about donations, why they are good and why you should give. Bitcoin Jesus will take your church into the future! Yea brother and amen!
1245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 90 year old man gets arrested for feeding the homeless for the third time on: November 19, 2014, 06:26:32 AM
I agree. Like I said earlier, there's a huge skid row area near me, and homeless cAmps, tent cities, a "open air market" which is basically a bunch of junkies selling stolen goods. I know people who go "shopping" there after they get robbed ffs. The city sanctions it! They built them awnings so they don't get wet in the rain.
Making things easier for bad actors is all that happens.

There's so many poverty advocates (privileged do-gooders looking to attack anyone who resembles mom and dad, that the real issues get lost in the arguments and mudslinging.

My approach would be to go after the dealers. There would still be troubles, but man o man, come to Vancouver canada and check out skid row. It's like that part of the wire where they make a drug area where everybody can just go wild... It's worse

On another note; there is a park near me, surrounded by private homes. Homeless set up camp there. Cops do nothing. Homeowners all put sprinklers, on thier own property, pointing at derelicts. Voilą no more homeless camp
1246  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 90 year old man gets arrested for feeding the homeless for the third time on: November 19, 2014, 03:56:11 AM
It's not right to hate the poor. Try to remember what it is you are angry about. It is poverty itself. The poor are victems...yes, victems. Victems of maybe thier own bad decisions sometimes, but not exclusively.

Expecting the poor to be fed at proper venues (churches, food banks, soup kitchens, shelters) is not an expression of "hate."

We know you have a weak argument in favor of feeding them without a permit in a local park, so you must resort to the dishonest tactic of stealing the moral high ground.

Let's turn it around...

YOU must hate the poor because you want them to be fed potentially dangerous food in random locations which lack appropriate plumbing, counseling, and rehabilitation services.

See how easy that was?  See how stupid that was?   Wink

yeah man, but I dont see how getting all angry over the issue helps. I stated quite clearly the whole mess makes me angry. I make an effort to keep myself in check, AND argue with those who would take a harder stance, but I'm not saying you're a big meanie and a hater, Im saying I feel ya dawg, I just dont entirely agree.

Proper venue and safe food yaddayaddayadda, I'm assuming hes reaching out to the homeless who are alienated from these services, and hes coming from a good place. there no simple solution, short of genocide...or is it class-ocide? Kill the poor! they smell bad anyway. That is my initial gut reaction, but I am morally obliged to see that I have a huge advantage over these wrecked humans and I am better than them, if you will. Therefore I should show some compassion, I still dont like them freeloading all over nice communities, I agree it is criminally disrespectful. It just aint as simple as telling them all to go somewhere else. they will just go to the next community.

TL;DR this entire issue is a lot bigger than a little old man feeding a few wasted losers.

1248  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: November 19, 2014, 03:41:36 AM
True I believe Ken to be largly incompetant, not a scammer, at least at the outset, but I think he was acting stupidly and started doing more and more dishonest things as everything started to fall apart. basically desperation leading a more or less honest guy to try and bullshit himself some more time. This alone is a crime IMHO, the crime of "misleading practices" to be exact.

I have no idea if he was playing the market with activemining shares, but after hearing his little gems like "when BTC is 10 000 we will all be great!" makes me think he was robbing Peter to make it look like he might pay Paul the whole time.

1249  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 19, 2014, 03:32:39 AM
let the arguments about specs begin! AKA Here we go again!

as far as KNC goes, I will believe it when I see it. As far as AM goes; I'm hanging on to the dream. So far neither have done anything tangible in a while. so any FUD on either side is meaningless at this point.

this game is giving me an ulcer.  Cry
1250  Other / Meta / Re: Who are the most trustworthy Bitcointalk users? on: November 19, 2014, 03:00:23 AM
I dont really need to trust anyone in here so I dont really look at it that way. I mean, I absolutely do not trust Icebreaker, but I like him and enjoy his input. I read his posts and make my decisions from there. He's quite clear about his opinions, which I like because I know where he's coming from and I can read between his biases as well as my own.

Yes, users who I like are more important than users who I trust, because I basically trust no one.

There are plenty users who I do not like, but that has to do with thier netiquite and attitude, not thier trustworthiness.

I do not want to put myself in a position where I am acting on the amount of trust I diegn to grant to a stranger. I suppose in many ways I already have; Ken Slaughter took me for a few BTC and Friedcat has a few more, labcoin took a couple too. But I realized these were huge risks and I went in despite this. Gambling is what it was, and I got burnt (hoping AM and Friedcat pull me through  Tongue ) I dont think I ever trusted any of them, I just thought (foolishly) why not give it a shot and I might be pleasantly surprised. I never put out more than I could afford to lose so I'm ok. Trust never really entered into the equation.
1251  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Movie heroes that definitely should use Bitcoin on: November 19, 2014, 02:48:20 AM
Hollywood is just a front. The biggest shill of them all. Do you see the amount of product placement in films? TBF or some similar org. would have to pay big to see BTC included in a film, but dont expect to see it in any serious context just yet. It hovers somewhere between the level of a punch line or a prop used by techno-villians, and thats it. Hollywood follows the lead of public opinion...they are servants to groupthink. Thats why they do focus groups and test screenings. All they want to do is appease the masses. If you think it is any different, you have been brainwashed from watching too much TV and need to go read a book.

The greatest barrier really is the audience. People are stupid and do not like to be challenged at the movies. This is why Jennifer Aniston is famous, she is innocuous to the mediocre, queen of the status quo, boring and predictable. I dont think hollywood would allow themselves to risk looking "foolish" by letting a hero touch something that is still of an uncertain future. Bitcoin is still too fringe for consevative tastes of most of the population, and therefore hollywood will never give it any credibility. Hollywood is risk adverse. Once BTC is ubiquitous and used all over, as I believe, THEN hollywood will be all over it, claiming the whole time to be an early adopter who "knew it all along" Go look at a rolling stone magazine from the 90s..."LIMP BIZKIT; The Future of ROCK!!!" ten years later "Fred Durst; Who ever even liked this douche???" what Im saying is; do not expect any sort of honesty, candour, truth or unpoplular ideas from hollywood or any of the entertainment complex for that matter. They have no soul and will never do it. Allk they want is your money, and they will play any angle thety have to to do it. Mostly that means NEVER go against the grain and never admit when you are wrong. Fools get in line and swallow it whole. Enjoy your Family Guy reruns.
1252  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there a reliable charity organization ? on: November 19, 2014, 02:32:07 AM
United way accepts BTC and is a pretty good "all around" charity. Thier resources go towards a wide varieties of sevices for people in need. Really, though, I don't get the urge you have to donate blindly. Its very good of you to want to help, but you should be able to identify where you want your help to go...dont you think? I mean, there are countless charities, and I don't know of any that are immune to corruption.

I cant help you with environmental charities, so far, ever single one I have seen, I have at least some issue with. Direct action is more my style of activism.
1253  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 90 year old man gets arrested for feeding the homeless for the third time on: November 19, 2014, 02:17:53 AM
It's not right to hate the poor. Try to remember what it is you are angry about. It is poverty itself. The poor are victems...yes, victems. Victems of maybe thier own bad decisions sometimes, but not exclusively.

I recently heard, at a support group for families of persons suffering head injuries (my brother in law got hit by a car and is now fucked) that 90% of the homeless are living with organic brain damage. That really opened my eyes, because I can tell you, my brother-in-law used to be a bright responsable intelligent guy and a good father/husband and an excellent provider. He isnt anymore BUT he still thinks he is...he just cant see what he's like and thinks everything is fine, so everyone has to run around playing clean-up around him, making sure he doesnt get in the car and start driving (he thinks hes the best driver...went a block before driving through the front of some poor guy's house last time he found the keys...he smokes anywhere he pleases, which as a smoker I find a little amusing, but honestly, he lit up in church at his daughter's wedding. My point is, the guy is incapable of taking care of himself or doing the correct thing. He is fortunate he has a support group around him to watch over and help, but not everyone is so lucky.

I have the same feelings when I see homeless camps in the city, buggering up nice family parks and shitting in the bushes, but being compassionate is never easy. It means remembering kindness even when your gut tells you to rage.

I dunno though. Its hard. I dont think its going to get any better anytime soon either. I live near Vancouver BC Canada and often walk right through thier "world famous skid row" which is essentially a open drug market run by gangs. Its depressing, and making life comfortable for the junkies is maybe not the most important thing to do there. They need 1) an exit strategy and 2) for the police to actually crack down on the dealers. somehow all the resources go to keeping all the streeters at basic maintenance, "harm reduction" and plenty college educated lefties bashing anyone who actually has any personal worth and would like to see the problem dealt with effectively, NOT just allowed to carry on at a dull roar.

I would be careful with the QR codes though, I just had a thought that someone could go in and replace the qr with thief own 😜 put the code under glass

If setting up a church to accept btc isn't an option I know a few branches of boys and girls clubs accept as do United way. Not churches but worthy causes.

agreed +100%
we should have some news by now. What are thier strategies even? how are these shares to be issued? when?

I honestly believe this is a legit fund and has promise, but these sort of gaffs with the details do not sit well with me. EVERYBODY is doing it, shabby practices and slovenly PR has been normalized here. Hate to say it, but every single f*** up from all the various securities will lead to the sort of government intervention everyone would not like to see. It will hurt everybody. Way to go, guys.
1256  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: November 16, 2014, 06:35:56 AM
yea just saw the "u dont need to worry about it".  what do u mean we dont need to worry about that, they fukin with our money.and its a joke to them.  did they even give an heads up, no explanation is already bad enough.

I would guess that most of the non-communication has to do with language barriers. when trying to explain late payments or payment problems to people you owe money to, you absolutely do not want to mis-speak or say anything incorrect or false. google translator is no guarantee that your words will arrive to the listener meaning the same thing you intended them to.

It pisses me off big time that we dont get a lot of info here, less when things are going wrong, but I can sort of understand the desire to say nothing rather than creat new problems with poorly phrased explinations.

They need someone fluent in english/chinese to be their "voice" on here.

If they do this and the communication problems are still there, then we all know for sure they are hiding something and not just socially retarded computer nerds who just dont fucking get it.

I'm fluent both in English and Chinese, would like to ask friedcat if they want to hire me to communicate with the customers.

go for it wang-yan we need this bad, but more for Asicminer than Amhash. AM is the main entity to deal with IMO... AM posted a notice a few weeks (months?) ago looking for a translator and judging by AM's progress with thier promised (over a year now) PR implementation, they dont know anyone who could do it. Either that or they dont want a PR voice because, like I suggested before, they WANT to keep thier actions out of view from the shareholders. I sure hope not.

If I needed a translator I can find one in under 30 seconds

BOOM there it is...a miracle! http://bit.ly/1ugrXCv

if they cant do that its not because they are unable, its because they have something to hide!

TL;DR contact FC and AM and be their translator! they have already put out a call for one. Plus, if you get AM's translation work, the other umbrella companies will want you too. Plus other asian based companies. Could be quite lucrative for you my friend!
1257  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 16, 2014, 12:01:42 AM
well, the real problem for me is; we hear about things like Datatank and that it was completely sold to private buyers months after the fact and the coresponding fact that dividends vanished around the same time. So then, to me, it looks like this; FC sells Datatank to his buddies, puts entire AM operations into immersion cooled mining, send all future profits to buddies, AM shareholders get nothing. Same logic applies to Amhash. Unless the structuring of these side-businesses and thier financial relation to AM, and the complete financials of AM is made public I can only assume we are all being sold down the river.

Come on FC, allay our fears!

oh, nevermind  Angry

Thanks sunxiaoxiao, but some notice about late payments or any other problems on your end would eliminate the fear and distrust that brews when users are not being paid and there is no word of why.

you can post it in here.  Smiley
1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS to create own coin. How can we convince to use Bitcoin? on: November 15, 2014, 05:29:28 AM
As a coin collecter, I kinda want some ISIS coins...

...I guess that's weird. Nevermind.

exactly!!! I have some old Adolph Hitler stamps. Creepy, but hella valuable, and a "curiosity" for the collector. There's going to be a lot more ISIS coins on the market than old Hitler stamps, and the collectors will line up to get them. However, kind of like "Special Collector's Editions" of anything, too many people buy some and put in storage immediately, causing them to not become very rare.

I'd rather have this shirt

Tasteless yes, but I really want it!!!!
