801  Other / Meta / Re: Please help me understand about "Trust" and how it works on this Forum. on: May 06, 2015, 08:54:20 PM
ok, so when someone is selling trust, they are taking money to give positive trust to someone no questions asked. But as soon as the giver or buyer is outed as a fake, every connected-by-trust member involved...their trust is affected? I'm sort of blurry on this one. Not that I want to sell or buy trust, just that in the other thread, the mods and more senior members were saying that the trust system tends to resist the effect of buying/selling, that the community automatically regulates...

I think I sort of get it... a stickied "How Trust Works" primer thread would do a lot of good for me, and I'm sure many others. Like a real simple breakdown. If I actually understood it myself I could probably write one up, and I understand it would take a few hours... so I don't want to make a bunch of work for anyone...but a guide like that is the kind of thing I would refer back to a few times until I fully understood it. Might prevent some of the fights in here too. is there a wiki or something? is a similar trust system used elsewhere?

thanks for the info above Lorenzo and XinXan, BTW.
802  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll: 51% of Democrats support criminalizing hate speech on: May 06, 2015, 07:52:58 AM
I dunno, I was talking about hate speech laws in another thread, I think I made it sound like I was for them, but I'm not! I live in Canada, that lady with the Mohamed cartoon show would face charges here. I don't feel that would be the correct thing to prosecute her on. She should be charged with wreckless endangerment and disturbing the peace. She's going out of her way to incite this madness. It's like teasing the guy you know is on the edge. You know he'll explode soon enough. Problem is, there's collateral damage usually. The guy you teased loses it and shoots everybody there, bystanders included. He's guilty of murder but the person who goaded him on needs to take some of the responsability.
Meanwhile, I actually think that all the Islamist radicals should be killed though and maybe this type of stuff is just what we need to flush em all out. Was Pam Gellar even at that event? Bet she had Kevlar and full security backup
803  Other / Meta / Re: Please help me understand about "Trust" and how it works on this Forum. on: May 06, 2015, 07:27:50 AM
I still don't understand how trust works. I've been reading related threads and only have the vaguest idea- is it a sort of up vote/down vote thing related to doing deals between members?
Can someone point me to a comprehensive explainer of the whole trust system if such a page exists?

The cotton Ginny, arguably one of the greatest innovations of the industrial revolution, was essentially a good design turned on its head. Your idea is pure serendipity sir! I commend you, however, this thread belongs in the "securities" section. Or maybe "micro-earnings"
Please choose one and move thread.

I apologize sir.   It wasn't my intention to already violate regulations this early in our company's history.  We are currently in the process of hiring a team member to research moving threads on Bitcoin Talk.  Please be patient during our initial growth phase.

- Because of these facts we predict massive returns within the first few years of operation and to eventually become one of the most valuable companies on Earth.

I am applying for the marketing and growth strategy officer. The first thing to do is to move the headquarters to Mars, that way 22 inc WILL be the most valuable company on the planet with the second biggest economy in the solar system; not only "one of".

Oh no, they have a plan to take on the biggest companies on earth.
They will slowly but steadily crush most of them and become "one of the most valuable companies on Earth".  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

LOL!
And to think that, this ingenious plan was conceived only but 10 minutes ago.
Can you imagine what could be done in the next 10 minutes or an hour?  Shocked
Yeah, but in Bitcoin time that's like, a whole afternoon almost

Not a problem bro. We're still bringing a class action though. Nothin personal  Smiley

here's the most info I can find on the guy.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=974893.90;imode

FC real name appears to be Xinyu Jiang also known as Brandon Lu or Della Lu, accordingly to ninjabot, nubbins and others

And the factory is not located at Mongolia but HuaiAn City, JiangSu Province

but honestly, if I had ... how many millions? ... and wanted to disappear... AND I already was from SE asia area.... youd never see hide nor hair of me again. Lets hope he does something stupid, loses it all gambling, gets sloppy and gives away his location...

and who the hell was holding a lot of AM shares anyway? private shares i will assume? they were all in since IPO? already made a huge profit, so written the whole deal off?

I have to stop obsessing about this. its only money i guess, but geez louise man!
808  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Killing Jews is Worship that Draws Us Close to Allah" Ads on NYC Buses on: May 05, 2015, 11:11:03 PM
If those radicalized Islamists were smart they'd just shoot Pamela Geller. Cut off the head and the snake will die!

Actually, no. If they were smart, they would become secular Americans and ignore this hate mongering idiot. Just because you pick on the "bad guy" doesn't make you any more of a "good guy" she's stirring the pot and she knows it. Jews vs. Muslims....can't they both lose?
809  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SCAMMER GETS HACKED|LOL|KARMA on: May 05, 2015, 10:51:02 PM
I don't care if he keeps the money or not. In fact, if he wants to keep punishing scammers, I would consider the btc he grabs to be his well deserved payment. Look at it this way....none of you are getting those btc back otherwise, at least you have the satisfaction of knowing that the scammer now feels what you feel.
810  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2 GUNMEN KILLED OUTSIDE MUHAMMAD CARTOON CONTEST on: May 05, 2015, 10:42:38 PM
Wasn't it Charles Manson's plan to incite a race war, then when the dust settles he would emerge to rule the land due to the fact he thought none of the blacks, who he figured would win, were smart enough to lead themselves?

This lady is an opportunist, she knows full well she is inciting, fomenting even, hatred and radicalized violence. I cant see that there was any other point behind this art show but to cause an altercation. Honestly, she should have to answer for that shit, at least a little, a fine, or some community service (lol) but seriously, in some parts of the world, democratic places that value free speech, certain types of insulting and degrading speech are not allowed by law. Its called "hate speech" and even though I'm no fan of radical Islamists, I think its wiser to back off when you know someone's a little too sensitive in some areas. Like do you walk around South Central LA shouting "NIgger!" in the face of every gang-banger you see? of course not. Now do you feel your freedom of speech has been compromised? I do! I think everyone who disagrees with me is a coward and a bad citizen of America if they don't immediately go down to your local ghetto and shout racial epithets at everyone you see. Also Jews. Make sure everyone on social media knows you hate Jews. See you in the unemployment line.
811  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [EDU] Faucet risks on: May 05, 2015, 10:29:09 PM
lol I am 12 and what is this?!?!

no, not really...faucets sure seem to make some people mad though. I could care less, if there's money to be made they will continue, which leads me to believe that there must be some money to be made running faucets... Of course, in some parts of the world 5$ a day is actually a sustainable income...not where I live, I just spent 20$ on two coffees and a danish!

Anyways, I look at anyone using faucets the same way I look at someone picking a penny up off the sidewalk. If its worth it to you to do it, be my guest, I've known what its like to be destitute....
812  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 05, 2015, 07:39:44 PM
from SFARDS website:

The SFARDS team has many years of experience with ASIC technology.

Our microchip team has extensive experience with Intel microelectronics, with our senior management coming from Gridseed and Vimicro electronics’ core research to create the most complete team we possibly could.
Members of the SFARDS team were responsible for designing and mass-producing the world’s first bitcoin mining chip.

Is just me thinking it is about FriedCat?

I for one am waiting for FC to show up somewhere at the competition. I'm sure they'd take him in but at least try to keep it hush-hush. I sp. if they are only doing corporate deals, they're all cut throats so why not

What is his real name again? Anybody got it? If I can find him it's going to be broadcast everywhere. The mfckr
813  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [EDU] Faucet risks on: May 05, 2015, 08:51:51 AM
Faucets aren't going to go away, I'm glad someone has taken the initiative to educate about the ins and outs. I've tried them in the past and gave up pretty quick because they pay shit, but I never had any idea about malvertizing so you can always learn something new obviously.
I'm curious though, how much can one make by running a faucet? It's passive income so you could have several going all the time, but if everyone avoids clicking your ads you won't make anything. It would be interesting to see a breakdown by a successful operator, but I doubt it could be very much...

Anyway, just discovered the whole micro-payments child board. A very welcome addition to bitcointalk nice!

EDIT- superiorus posted at the exact same time as me, half answering my question. Can you quote $$$ amounts of your earnings?
814  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SCAMMER GETS HACKED|LOL|KARMA on: May 05, 2015, 07:57:37 AM
Awesome job 5m4ru1 this made my day!
I hope you can find time to nail more of these scammers, check the securities section for plenty of deserving victims! The amount of scammers in Bitcoin, you could be very busy, but very very rich too! Please do make a habit of this LOL
815  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hillary Clinton as the next leader of the damned? on: May 05, 2015, 07:36:46 AM
People vote with their hearts not with their minds. They vote for the person not the policies. She'll win because most women will vote for her on the mere fact she's a woman alone.
They voted Obama because they wanted to see a black man win. In a way I was glad to see it too, but it hasn't really panned out too well has it. Oh well, give the broad a try...
Anyway, there's better broads out there. Hillary is corrupt as hell. At least she is menopausal so she won't start WWIII when she gets PMS
816  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2 GUNMEN KILLED OUTSIDE MUHAMMAD CARTOON CONTEST on: May 05, 2015, 07:23:07 AM
I'm usually pretty reticent about these types of situations. Like, freedom of speech is great, but one needn't poke a hornets nest. Usually...
The more this shit blows up, the more I'm starting to feel that reticence is just admitting defeat. I could go and say all sorts of disrespectful, even "sacreligous" things to any other faith (yes faith, it's not a racial trait you know) and I could guarantee I would not get murdered. I'd probably lose my job and get threats online, but I'd be pretty safe.
There's something wrong with these lunatics. When you think about it, religion offers so little. Why die over it? Makes me think they just want an excuse to go postal, and this is the most convenient
Can't the states instal a puppet Ayhatohlah or whoever it is tells these lunatics what to think, and have him tell everybody to chill the fuck out and that Allah don't give one fuck about some stupid cartoons.
You would think that "God" himself would have better things to do than get upset by some goofy humans?
Makes me sick though...
817  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: How to create your own Xapo bitcoin faucet on: May 05, 2015, 12:50:52 AM
How much money could you expect to make running a faucet? Let's assume you have decent traffic and adsense ads all over it? I used to run a blog about Law School (universities) and could make a few hundred a month ( .edu and legal are highest paying keywords) but I also had some more entertaining but keyword poor sites that earned next to nothing. When my law school blog started earning in the 3 digits adsense banned me.  Cry
Overall, the work I had to put in to get the traffic and original content made it pay like a minimum wage job.
So. My question... How much do you earn with your own faucet? Please include stats like amount of traffic, CTR etc.
Thanks
818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Converting BTC, mBTC, cBTC, μBTC and Satoshi on: May 05, 2015, 12:37:39 AM
I'm horrible at math. Anything to do with numbers gives me problems. We are dealing with money here so I like a little help. I use this http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-converter/convert-btc-mbtc-bits-satoshis-usd/
And to be honest, the more I use it the better I get at moving the decimals (my main problem being; remembering the names of the different denominations!)
Spellcheck has actually helped me learn to spell better, so hopefully these converters will teach me my btc denominations too.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin is an Agent on: May 04, 2015, 11:52:05 PM
I can't really see what use GA would be to the USG as an agent.
First; you would think, if he was, he would have to act in a covert manner. Not publicly announcing that he is going into talk with the CIA.
Second; CIA is used for operations outside of U.S. territory
Next; what is the purpose he serves? He helps the btc ecology, is moving a competing monetary system forward the USG's goal? The common anti-gov bias re; Bitcoin is Bitcoin must fail! If GA is an agent, he's doing it wrong

As Bitcoin exists today it isn't a threat to anyone. If, in say 5 years, we see mass adoption, and something goes terribly wrong with the basic protocol... Well maybe... But somehow I think you're giving these govt spooks more credit than they deserve
820  Economy / Services / Re: [SAD] I delete your account on: May 04, 2015, 07:17:55 PM
I do see people ask about deleting their accounts occasionally in the meta section. Seems pointless. If you are done here walk away and let your posts fade into necro- obscurity. In fact, when asked why they would want to delete, I cannot recall even one having a good answer. Makes me think something is up (get someone's account erased=ruin their sig earnings? Just wipe their account to mess with them?)
Anyway, good for you for seeing an opportunity and fulfilling a need in the market. Let us know if you get any takers.
