They can issue an order against Ken but who sees that it is enforced? Fines are one thing, but if they order him to pay back shareholders is it then up to victims to file class action when he fails to pay?
1202  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: December 02, 2014, 02:02:10 PM
Is there any business arraignment between btc China and AM? Weren't they in line to supply them chips or am I dreaming.
I can't remember
1203  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: December 01, 2014, 09:00:47 AM
I have a few questions too.

1) Is Hashie receiving compensation in some form from AM in exchange for selling AMHash?
2) Does the number of contracts sold as displayed on Havelock include the contracts Hashie are selling?
3) When will AMHash start selling contracts again?
4) Why isn't the website being kept up-to-date?

mostly number 1 for me... how does hashie manage to sell so cheap? It doesnt quite make sense to me, the contracts are as old as the ones on havelock, who's zoomin' who? it would be really interesting to know if they worked these things out beforehand...
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking of setting up an irc to discuss ideas... on: November 30, 2014, 11:45:09 PM
there have been IRC groups around various crypto related endeavors. I personally like IRC BUT you will need to Moderate it heavily. You can see how abusive people become in here, and they supposedly had plenty of time to think, compose, and consider what they post first.

I'd participate if the name calling were to be minimised. And the trolling. And the shilling. And the...you get the point.

Let us know when its up and running, or maybe make it invite only? maybe a newbie jail to see if they can behave? Trolls can be amusing, but they are not constructive.
1205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof that Ripple numbers are manipulated by Coinmarketcap, there is no boom! on: November 30, 2014, 11:05:53 AM
I thought honey badger didn't give a shit, seems like he's awful pissed about ripple!
What I can't believe is; how so few people neglected the free giveaway ripple did when it came out. What were they afraid of? I grab most free giveaways when I can. It's free after all, and it's not like I'll be ostracized or humiliated. I'm not in middle school so I don't care if someone calls my stuff "gay"
Also, I don't get why XRP is perceived as a threat to btc. You don't have to get very far into the literature to see it is complimentary in its relation to other currencies.
I do think this price spike could be an over valuation though. Not a pump. I will continue to hodl my XRP - my two possible outcomes will be= moon, or XRP worth exactly what I paid for it (zero)
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did you invest in Ripple? on: November 30, 2014, 10:39:50 AM
Simply took advantage of the free promotional giveaway when it came out. 35000 XRP free gratis and for nothing. So, technically, I'm not "invested" but I like what I see so far, and the more I read about XRP's utility, the more I like it. It is not in competition with BTC. Please don't feel threatened guys.

Can you post a link to the 35000 XRP giveaway? It was before my time and I would like a look at the thread.

I will have to search... I don't think the giveaway is available anymore... The platform they have is way different (same XRP- very different UI)
You could look in their main thread, it would be near the beginning but if it is no longer on I would guess they deleted it.
Try ripple trade. It's thier new website/wallet/exchange. If there's a newbie giveaway it would be there. Good luck... I'm sitting in nearly 800$ worth of free XRP right now... Feels like 2012
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TAKEOVER PAYCOIN - RELAUNCH on: November 30, 2014, 10:28:24 AM
Is this the GAW miner coin I've been hearing about?

1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion: Why Ripple/XRP Doubled In Value in Less Than A Week on: November 29, 2014, 12:39:04 AM
Ripple sure seems to leave a lot of people here severely butthurt.

Didn't you sign up and get the free 35000 XRP when it came out? I did. worth around 500 bux right now. free money. feelsgoodman.

Ripple is NOT competition to bitcoin. it is made to work with bitcoin and other alts. its the bridge between bitcoin usability and "bitcoin will fail 'cuz joe blow cant figure out how to get and use it!"

Thats not just a good thing, it is SORELY NEEDED.

XRP adoption will help btc. But dont believe me, just watch and see.
1210  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: November 28, 2014, 10:11:42 PM

You'd probably want to be clear that your company isn't BASICMiner when introducing it to new people.

Haha, you are right, we need to do some logo design, thanks very much!!!!!
[/quote]

+1
that is the first thing I noticed when I saw the photo. I almost spit coffee all over my computer before I realized it was just poor design, maybe a language barrier thing... remove the BTC (its probably stick-on vinyl) and you will be fine. put a bitcoin logo somewhere else...although, being at a "bitcoin summit" I doubt anyone will assume you are mining doge.

but yeah, Basic Miner...bad!
1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With the current ripple bubble(?) I wonder what one can do with it on: November 28, 2014, 05:40:43 AM
He's a self made billionaire, I doubt he's retarded.
1212  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Help - I was hacked - 63.73 BTC - Blockchain.info secured by 2FA on: November 28, 2014, 05:35:09 AM
I am curious if anyone has ever actually retrieved stolen BTC? are there examples of this happening? where would I look? google is no help.

Sorry to OP though. Not trying to rub salt in your wounds. that is a lot to lose. ouch!
1213  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It's funny to see these thugs in Ferguson bitching about how they have nothing on: November 28, 2014, 05:20:51 AM
The whole thing is making me sick actually. I'm shaking my head... this article here puts it well... USA gots problemos...
http://streetcarnage.com/blog/the-left-lost-in-ferguson/
The "[The Left's] racially divisive political agenda" part confuses me, I'm not sure what he means by that, but obviously, the problem in the States is out of hand. I mean, those rioters down there arent my friends, they hate me, and I wouldnt go down there no matter. I dont think anyone knows what to do.
1214  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 28, 2014, 03:04:07 AM
It looks like this is already on... cool, but...I would really like to see a full translated transcript of what gets said. The last one, where Friedcat spoke, I only found the most cursory english version of events... I still have a few questions about that one in July...

The sign on the booth looks like it says "Basic miner" isn't there already a basic miner? Is this just an oversight by whomever designed the signage?

Not that any of this really matters a ton. Good to see this, looking forward to whatever news comes out.
1215  Other / Meta / Re: Creating New Subs/Sections? on: November 28, 2014, 02:30:14 AM
This would probably include a very large portion of the threads/posts in this forum.

There is somewhat of an argument to change the name of the forum to bitcoinconspiracytheorynsatalk.tinfoil/hat........maybe one of the domain spammers can register that one and sell it to the forum
wellllll...yeah, but...

these theories/imaginings/truths or whatever you want...they are often valid parts of a conversation, but when it is the entire conversation, like say...TBF is Illuminaty and child molestors... it just looks like a way to slander and foment hate under the guise of "uncovering secrets"

mainly I would just like to be able to go into these ranting insane threads and be all like..."Hey guys, please move this to the Conspiracy Sub where it belongs" would filter out a lot of the garbage.

The Creative Area is just because I've noticed users showing thier stuff and it would be nice if they had a showcase. Mods would have to have some rules limiting sales and spam etc. because Marketplace alreadyt is there for selling art, I'm just talking about sharing. Anyways, I just thought I'd put it out there.
1216  Economy / Services / Re: I will buy anything you want from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and ship anywhere on: November 28, 2014, 12:10:42 AM
I used to own a small monkey's skull that my brother bought in thialand years ago. the type of monkey was not a protected species and the vendor had scavenged the bones from a monkey found dead already, so my bro had no problem getting across the borders.

Someone stole my monkey skull at a house party a while ago, and I really want to replace it. Can you get something like that? I would need to see photos etc and do escrow, but I can pay btc and will gladly for a small monkey's skull.

My brother paid ~ 2$ 20 years ago for this skull, so I would expect today's price to be around 50$ tops.
1217  Other / Meta / Creating New Subs/Sections? on: November 28, 2014, 12:00:12 AM
I have a question. If I have an idea for a new topic sub-section (dont know if this is the right term...as example I would say "meta" is a "sub-section" of "Other") Actually 2 "sub-sections"

One would be an area for "Conspiracy Theory" because its all over the place in bitcointalk and I find it wildly off-topic MOST of the time, also it is largly disinformation at worst or simply a matter of personal belief at best. By definition, none of it is proven truth, thus the "theory" designation. It is highly annoying, creates huge arguments and ill will all around, how about giving it its own sub in the "Other" section?

Also I was talking with another user about the possability of having a "Creative" section. There are plenty of users in here with talent to share, it just doesn't fit neatly anywhere on btctalk, yet.

I put these suggestions here because I was unsure where to leave them, I hope they may be seen as useful and maybe implemented if the Mods deem it worthy.

Thanks  Wink
1218  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It's funny to see these thugs in Ferguson bitching about how they have nothing on: November 27, 2014, 11:46:17 PM
Generational poverty. Granpa had nothing, Dad had nothing, kids have nothing, thier kids have nothing. It goes on and on. They do however manage to cling to a misplaced sense of pride, and an irrational fear/envy/hatered of anyone who has been fiscally responsable and has anything to show for it.
The reality of "Gangster Lifestyle" is that it is a totally hand-to-mouth existance. they may flash a few thousand dollars around at the club, but it is really easy to spend that kind of money at a club or via an ignorant lifestyle. They are perpetually going broke and therefore perpetually on the take, after your hard earned money, even if they have to kill you to get it. But a cop (earns ~ what ateacher makes, with no 2 months paid vacation every year, namely not that much) who is tasked with trying to do damage control around these entitled morons, that cop is guaranteed corrupt, evil, murderous and racist to boot!

I've got a teenager of my own at home, and while she is a good kid, and we have her thinking about money and her future, she is obliged to work and save and keep her grades up and she is going to college wether she likes it or not...she is still a teen ager. Teenage logic goes like this; teenager is doing something they KNOW they shouldnt be doing, teenager gets busted by an adult. Teenager screams blue murder, so unfair! Adult is way out of line, isnt respecting me! has no right! blah blah blah! Its always someone else's fault, NEVER is it "You are right, I was wrong, I am sorry, please let me make amends." NEVER. It is called scapegoating; deflecting blame. I cant believe everyone is so angry that this cop stopped this kid who blatantly stole from a store, then attacked him physically when he was doing his job and wound up getting shot! They say "kid" he was over 6 feet tall, athletic, and obviously with a bad "tough guy" attitude... I'd be pretty afraid too.

I'm not saying there arent problems, especially in USA, but that does not mean that it is a free pass for every bottom feeder and opportunist out there to rob steal and intimidate unchecked and unfettered. seriously. The system is far from perfect, but it is infinitely preferable to how things would be if the thugs were in charge. They cant even operate a laundry machine ffs
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP RIPPLE LATEST NEWS REQUESTED on: November 27, 2014, 11:28:09 PM
yes, I migrated just last week, it only took a few seconds. The new platform is far superior!
1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With the current ripple bubble(?) I wonder what one can do with it on: November 27, 2014, 11:22:14 PM
crypto coin tables gets a regular visit from me and today i noticed how ripple is doing totally exceptionally well. so well that i start wondering if there might actually be anything in terms of merchant adoption. is there a coinmap.org for ripple? is there a list of accepting merchants available somewhere? is there some hint on the number of users like the blockchain.info/wallet?

The only thing there is out now is simply people buying XRP and holding them. Merchant adoption is not here, nor is merchant adoption present in any significant way in Bitcoin. Investors took a look at the Ripple fundamentals and concluded that it indeed is undervalued.

Ripple, by design, does not require direct merchant adoption.

Smarty Cash and Shift Payments are card services integrated with Ripple, allowing users to use Ripple network funds to make merchant payments. As Ripple is a platform of many currencies, users are not restricted to XRP for funding accounts.

SmartyCash can be loaded with any currency, for example, and is therefore of equal value to users of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. Ripple handles IOU conversion at the time of transferring funds card reloading. Crosscurrency payments in action.

XRP is used in the background to help make it all happen, but can for the most part be ignored by end users.

I am happy to see XRP rise in value, but fixation on XRP misses the point of Ripple Smiley

+100
I love this about XRP. Didnt the owner of Alibaba Jack Ma imply that he had invested heavily in XRP earlier this summer? I believe he answered a journalist who asked him if he had invested in cryptos with "Yes, but NOT BTC!" and this was around the same time that a few banks had stated they would work with XRP...

I believe XRP has capitalized where BTC has fallen short. BTC would be used way more widley if the average user used it without knowing, didnt need to learn all that ikky technical stuff, didnt need to go through sketchy exchanges and other points of failure...this is what XRP does for them, put very simply...I am enjoying seeing my free XRP turn into a healthy sum of $$$ carry on boys!!!
