181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be careful folks. Just got hacked, lost some BTC today. on: December 06, 2013, 03:53:58 AM
Definitely need two-factor authentication for sites dealing with bitcoins. Especially if they are going to fire off withdrawals to whatever address you put in. Sorry to hear that happened to you though.
182  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Stay away from Coinbase on: December 06, 2013, 03:31:55 AM
I got my BTC in a few minutes once the transaction on coinbase went through(took 5 business days as quoted). Nothing really to complain about. Their process is drawn out and inefficient, but its also exactly as advertised.

Make a small transaction and then get approved for instant.

i played COD 2 for a long long time

COD2 was a good solid game. Last one they made before all this madness where they don't support PC at all and everything has to be huge, have tanks, play with 60 players, fly planes, air strikes, etc
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: Ouya Now Accepts Bitcoin As Payment on: December 05, 2013, 04:19:13 PM
OUYA has some pretty bad ratings though, not even sure people will buy this. It's a great concept, but was just executed wrongly. However, perhaps accepting bitcoins may boost their sales by just a tiny bit. Smiley

Seems like every time I log onto a tech blog ouya is being bashed for something they did.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UPDATE 2-China bars banks from bitcoin transactions on: December 05, 2013, 04:11:50 PM
What does this mean exactly?

Are banks banned from transacting in bitcoins or from dealing with bitcoin related transactions entirely?

188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think any of the other "alt" currencies will overtake bitcoin? on: December 05, 2013, 02:18:12 AM
Will something replace Bitcoin (or coexisting in a niche untapped by Bitcoin)?  Maybe.

Is that something the altCoins which are clones of Bitcoin with a few parameters changed?  Not a chance.

Yeh, bitcoin has momentum. None of these clones are going to overtake it even if they offer minor improvements. Something may come along and overtake bitcoin, but it will have to offer something much better or at least different.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins would you pay for the chance to meet Satoshi in person? on: December 04, 2013, 10:00:25 PM
What are the odds he gives me access to that swimming pool full of bitcoins?

Multiply that by 900,000 and subtract a small fee.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watch the tracking of the sheep marketplace thief in real time on: December 04, 2013, 09:52:28 PM
I think his best hope of escape would be to just forget about cashing it in and to just distribute it randomly.

Send some to just random people's addresses just to throw the scent off? Probably too greedy to do that.

Would probably be a hell of a lot harder to track if some % of them were actually in circulation.

So it took a whole week for someone to actually check and verify one of the addresses on the blockchain?  Sounds Sketchy to me.

Yeh, I don't doubt the balances on the site showed the correct balance. The part I don't understand is how someone from the site didn't see their accounts slowly being drained of what has to be a massive part of their total bitcoins.

Its not like you would audit balances by looking in your database. You'd look at the actual balance.
191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suspended from ebay on: December 04, 2013, 09:46:11 PM
I'm still not convinced any of the auctions for huge prices are being bought by legitimate buyers. I'm not surprised when I see a sale for 10-25% premium, but when its 100%+ higher than any market I just don't see how it can be legitimate regardless of the sellers feedback.

Throw in having to deal with paypal not wanting you doing it anyway and It can't be worth the hassle
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watch the tracking of the sheep marketplace thief in real time on: December 04, 2013, 09:32:51 PM
So 96,000 bitcoins were sent out before the site realized anything was wrong?

Seems like that would be a lot of volume and suspicious right?
193  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC Faucet.. why? on: December 04, 2013, 07:40:34 PM
A lot the faucets say they do it to help promote bitcoins. Maybe they own bitcoins and want the price to go up or just want to promote bitcoin for the sake of doing so.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Hedge Fund Manager says Bitcoin could hit $1 Million on: December 04, 2013, 06:42:40 PM
The only reason for all these wild claims I can think of is that these guys bought a bunch already and are making these comments to enforce a sort of self fulfilling prophecy.
195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin worth $98500 says this article on: December 04, 2013, 06:30:28 PM
If you thought something was going be worth 98 times what it currently is worth would you:

a.) Write a report telling everyone.

b.) Buy as many as possible.
196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can there be only one? on: December 04, 2013, 06:19:21 PM
I don't think there will be as many as there are now. Its possible a handful exist in a very small market while the winner is much more widely used. Seems extremely unlikely there will be multiple bitcoins that are widely accepted.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should come with clear warning labels on: December 04, 2013, 05:54:37 PM
There need to be services and clients that are more user friendly if the majority of people are going to use or own bitcoins.

Right now its difficult enough to acquire bitcoins and manage wallets that most who use them are well aware of the risks. Once it gets to the point someone creates really easy and intuitive bitcoin services then it will be a problem that people own bitcoins, but don't really understand the risks.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need to switch to mBTC soon on: December 04, 2013, 05:41:09 PM
It is happening!

Bitcoinity

And you can measure in mBTC on Blockchain

They had to put a huge warning to prevent people from panicking  Grin

I was slightly confused for a half second and the warning actually scared me until I read it.
199  Other / Off-topic / Re: When will amazon accept BITCOINS??? They can deliver items via DRONEs now... on: December 03, 2013, 07:37:02 PM
I can make very good business shotting those drones down...

This. I would order stuff, wait for it to be delivered, then try either capture them or smash 'em to bits with a baseball bat.

They will probably fly high enough it will be hard to get one unless you actually go into somebodies yard and try to steal it. Probably not the smartest crime to commit.

Going on private property stealing a drone that is recording your face and sending it to police.
200  Economy / Services / Tournament Poker Coaching(SNGs and MTTs) (1 Free session Available) on: December 03, 2013, 07:15:35 PM
I will do a single ~45 minute session for an established bitcointalk member provided they agree to write a review in this thread after.

I'm a long time poker player and member of 2p2. I've played >30,000 SNGs and somewhere close to 10,000 MTTs lifetime.

I've played probably ~15,000 super turbos across various sites. Although they are what I spent the most time on(because they were most profitable at the time) I've also had plenty of success at MTTs. Whether you are someone new to poker who wants to learn the basics of poker and tournament poker or someone who wants to take SNGs/MTTs more seriously I believe I can help.

If you are interested I will get a little background info from you and then we will spend time discussing topics I think can help and/or reviewing hand histories that I will request and review prior to our session.

Rates:

1 hour - .015/.0225 BTCs(with a hand history review prior to our meeting)
3+ hours - .0135 with hand histories review(s) included

I've hand a handful of students before and found that it takes me a significant amount of times to prepare a hand history review before presenting it to the player(usually it takes about as long as going over it with the player). So a 1 hour session with a hand history review is actually 2 hours of work for me and thus the higher rate.

There is some flexibility with the rates. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

These are just a handful of my stats from sites/games I could collect. Unfortunately a lot of my stats are lost and some I can't access(my FTP stats on sharkscope for games below 30 players are locked):

EDIT: I've also played several hundred thousand hands of 6max cash games at stakes ranging from 10NL up to 100NL. I'd be comfortable coaching micro stakes cash(25NL and under) also if anyone is interested. If you'd like my cash game stats I can pull those from my pokertracker databases.
