He reverse pumps Monero. Telling people not to invest in it, so they naturally mortgage their house to buy some Monero.

If only more people mortgaged their houses... I'm sure price would be a lot higher.

So there you have it guys: mortgage your house, buy monero, profit  Huh Huh Huh

Wow, all my bids filled. Time to go up boys!

How easily sentiment changes to bearish...

Everything is red on polo on btc market now. So its not only xmr. eth is also getting hammered significantly. The question is where is bottom?

I'm gonna go with 247  Grin Cheesy

Nope :/

Yup. Where are the chartists who saw that coming? Which chart explained any of the recent dump? NONE. That's why TA etc are just dumb tools to dupe newbies (regardless of legitimacy of a coin). Overall this is coin has more slimeballs than even DASH and ETH combined. Normally I use crude language to go with this but it serves no purpose.

Just don't introduce anyone to XMR. BTC is the best one can do and that's what should be supported. Otherwise it's just dump a coin, come to this thread with a TA line to mock everyone, post negative sentiments when you want to buy, positive when you are ready to dump. Rinse, laugh and repeat.

Don't forget to post at what price you want to get back in. What price you want to sell right now. Everything out in the open, to steal from the guy posting before you in this very thread. Works everytime.

Suer.

From a technical point of view the situation shows mixed signals: https://i.imgur.com/W1oex0F.png

The bullish case, shown by my red count, has the support of some nice hidden bull divs both on the 4h AO and the RSI between the previous low and the current low. Also, a typical ABC flat correction off the top might soon complete and currently fibs show a very nice A=C. Even with the latest huge dump the volume is still declining from the initial sell-off, which also supports a correction rather than a change of trend. Finally, a 4th wave typically ends up somewhere in the area of the previous 4th wave of a lesser degree, so, as long as we don't make considerably deeper LLs, this might be the case.

The bearish case, shown by my blue count, suggests that the impulse up from the bottom has finished. Breaching the upward channel, going below the 4h SMA200 (pink) suggest that a change of trend has taken place. Other evidence can be found on the higher timeframe charts: on the weekly the candle is back inside the Bollinger Bands and has a more than great chance of closing inside - this usually means at least a test of the weekly sma20 (currently at around .002); on the daily the dumping accelerated once price went below sma20 and closed below the lower BBand - this means that further acceleration towards lower levels is possible.

Guidelines say to never expect the trend (bullish until now) to be broken until there is enough evidence to suggest that it happened. More and more signals start pointing that it might already have...

Doom or massive shakeout? Opinions?

This dump without a single bad news common its pure new $$$ getting in

Could it be ShapeShift's XMR hot wallet balance that got dumped? They got hacked and only BTC/ETH is up and running again, other alts back online over the next Weeks.

https://www.reddit.com/r/shapeshiftio/

I can't see how they could have so much liquidity in their hot wallet. More likely it's just that the market needed a heavier correction.

So at cryptopia xmr is going for 0.00369 , good price to jump in ?

If there is one thing I've learned in the past few years with regards to speculation is to not let other people tell me whether the price is good or not to buy/sell. Make your own decision about this and do not let others influence you.

The other thing would be to dollar cost average, meaning: if you're unsure, just buy a little portion now. If the price goes up, great, you'll already be in profit; if the price goes down, great, you'll be able to afford more XMR for the same amount. Win-win in the long term.

All alts are going to get slaughtered during the BTC halving pump.

What is your view on what it will mean for BTC and alts if there is no (big) halving pump?

However unlike that might be, please consider the hypothetical. I'm interested in your view.

If I may, I've also been thinking about this for quite some time.

If there is no considerable price increase within the next few months, chances are that everything since the 152$ low in january '15 has been a very long correction within the larger bearish trend. In this scenario BTC would, at least, test the above mentioned low, having good chances of going into the double digits. In this case I would assume that alts would do what they do most of their time, which is to lose value against bitcoin, leading to lower lows.

Actually, from an Elliott Wave point of view, this scenario could be viable even in the case of a big BTC pump, but this analysis would be better suited then.

For XMR, this is what I currently see: https://i.imgur.com/dV1pCRh.png

There are 2 possibilities in my chart:

Red means that the action since the .00422 top is just another 4th wave correction, which should stop somewhere between .003 and .0026, before going back up for another top somewhere close to .005. This has support from the hidden bull divergences both on the AO and on RSI, as showed by the black arrows in the indicator section.

Blue means that the impulse has finished and the price is ready to heavily correct. Supporting this is the evident decrease in strength on the latest tops, with compounding divs both on the RSI and AO. Also, what worries me is the increase in selling volume on this latest move down, which suggests that a change of trend is possible (this usually happens slowly and then picks up momentum). This scenario would be in line with a BTC price increase in the next few days, as people sell XMR to "be" part of the BTC rally.

We are swimming in dangerous waters, I'm afraid.

I am speculating, but the amount of nodes is increasing over the last few days. Are people firing up extra 0.9.2 nodes just to make sure we will have a smooth hardfork? Thanks to luigi1111 this node runs another whole month.

- Nodes: https://monerohash.com/nodes-distribution.html
- Countdown timer: http://myrcraft.com/xmr.html

Whoa, 200 nodes! That is the highest number I have ever seen (hopefully not just cold storage that gets unfrozen..).

Interestingly Spain, Portugal and Italy don't have a single node. Still some ground in Europe to cover I guess.

My node is up but not on the map :/

I'm thinking maybe a maximum of 7 more days sideways/down with a low between .0024 and .0020 and then another explosive wave up.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 10, 2016, 10:04:37 PM
That's an accumulation wall, but we need to go deeper!
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 10, 2016, 08:29:28 AM
XMR is currently at 0.00303800 from its previous low of 0.00223310
In other words, XMR is up 36%

ETH is currently at 0.02915000 from its previous low of 0.02122200
In other words, ETH is up 37%

Given the correlation between these two, I'd say XMR rise is not because market participants are buying due to its fundamentals.
Rather its just hot money flowing into both markets.

We'd be more pleased if XMR increases in value independently of others.
That will speak volumes about the market's confidence in XMR's as a unique and viable currency.

Hot money inflows doesn't mean much. A rising tide lifts all boats.

For a real world example, see how stocks around the world performed after US Fed initiated QE1, QE2 and QE3.

I'm of the same opinion that XMR is trading along ETH, for now. So what I'm suggesting basically is that all the XMR long-term bulls should be very careful at this stage of trading in order to not lose any potential value because the mega-dumps will come, eventually. Better be out by then, in order to be able to buy back moar at the expense of hot money speculators.

You guys talking about XMR overtaking BTC makes me think this price is a very good sell.

Damn it, I missed all the fun.

I'm thinking .0023 again and then up and away.

Rallying on ATH daily volume. Fun times.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 01, 2016, 11:20:56 AM
It feels like XMR will never get a break from this endless selling pressure.

Guys, I'm very happy with the 0.9 release. Complete blockchain sync in around 18h on my 7 year old laptop.
