Stop smoking whatever you're on right now.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll go out shopping tomorrow for one of those dongles listed, and hopefully I'll be able to get it working. The ethernet cable is really taking up a ton of space as it effectively cordons out a part of the room.

Oh! I should also say... now that you are back mining John... this is a short term phenomenon but I drew up a short guide to help miners get some pre-2013 BTC mining earnings

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=894826.0

^it'll end friday/saturday... i strongly recommend you follow the guide for best return on your efforts.

Thanks for the guide - I think I read your guide yesterday and am mining on westhash right now. Cheesy

John I am enjoying   it myself. I have  6x sp20's purchased with close to perfect  timing.

All earning crazy numbers on west hash.

Nice review.  Thanks Phil

ROI suddenly is much more faster, eh. Wink Mine came just in time too for the hike!

Ok, a couple of questions to experts:
1. In settings you control units, but in asic stats there are loops (not units).
Is it correct to assume that unit 1=Loop 0
2. what would be maximum difference between voltage between units? I assume that you want to optimize temperature, so slight variation is possible.
3. Zvisha said to set maximum voltage difference at 5 millivolts (0.005), so I assume that it would be a difference between a lowest volatge unit and max, but if units are at slightly different voltage, the diffrence of highest voltage unit and maximum has got to be less or more than 0.05. Comments?

1. Yes.

2. Personally, I have it really wide apart (check my review - don't remember the exact numbers). I remember reading that the max is roughly 10mV between them though, although I can't verify that.

3. Not really following that, sorry.

Ok cool, thanks for the link john. I have it now connected to my wifi but i cannot edit the preferences from other computers connected to the wifi network. Is it safe to assume i can edit the changes while im connected via ethernet (with the dhcp server running) then unplug it and it will fetch data over wifi?

I think so, yes.
186  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is this some kind of a scam ? on: December 17, 2014, 12:22:43 AM
I went to that link, and my AV stopped the virus. It's obviously a scam.
187  Economy / Services / Re: Merry Christmas and a Happy 2015 Year ! :) bitcoin congratulation card. on: December 16, 2014, 11:54:08 PM
Whao, is that address yours? How long did that take you to generate? Huh

Nah, it's not technically his as he doesn't have the private key to it (hopefully, LOL). It's like this address: https://blockchain.info/address/1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

By making it, I assume that he makes the checksums and etc work, hereby generating a legit bitcoin address.

It was for mining only.

Here's another fun rig.

Hmm.. the .025 loan jump to .1 is quite risky here. I'd suggest you offer collateral with this.

This was always my favorite gpu rig.

It went through many transformations before generally maintaining the following form.

...

Dang, that's one cool rig! Cheesy
Although I wouldn't want the heat from them blowing all over my nuts when I'm using the computer up there, LOL.

still trying to set mine up, it wont connect to my raspberry pi's ethernet bridge (but my laptop and other devices will...)
I dont have access to a router in the area the miner needs to be so I need to find some solution to running it wirelessly.

The packaging of the device, however- was really nice

Get a wireless dongle. I'm just wondering which dongle to get at the moment. (Spondolies-Tech, any recommendations?)

you mean a wireless usb dongle to plug directly into the miner itself? I have one but I'm not sure how to set it up

Yep. Plug it in the USB port on it, and go to the settings page and click WiFi networks.

the settings page being myminer.io? Im assuming in order to set this up, it needs to be connected to ethernet briefly, though

If the SP20 is anything like the SP10 and SP30, the unit must be connected to the internet for a few minutes (more than just briefly) before its IP address shows up on myminer.io

myminer.io is not a settings page, it is a handy page that shows all the Spondoolies-Tech rigs on your local network. Then you can click on the rig to be taken to the web page for that rig (where you can then adjust all the settings for that rig).

And you need to be in the same local network as it is. I obtained a VPN to get remote monitoring work.
alright, so i have my windows laptop creating a network bridge, plugged in the miner via ethernet to my laptop in hopes of it being able to connect. Its been a few minutes and still it has not shown up. Does this thing just not like network bridges? I feel like I am still doing something wrong.

Nope, that doesn't work. (tested yesterday) You need your computer to be a DHCP server as it needs its own IP address to be able to work. Here's one wh00ps gave me yesterday: http://www.dhcpserver.de/

Thanks guys, and yep, I'm planning to do a more concise write up about how to get to mining in a broad network (think a workspace/university for example), and how to set up wireless mining etc.

Trying to make it to North Carolina from NYC.  I have a loan from segvec which I paid back on time with interest.  That is the only business I have done here.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Can segvec post and confirm that he did give you that loan? I don't see him leaving feedback with you, only you posting your feedback to him.
200  Economy / Lending / Re: Taking loans -- 100% collateral in BTC -- Escrow Accepted on: December 16, 2014, 11:23:15 PM
Hello!

I am willing to take your loan, with 100% collateral in pure BTC. If you want to use escrow it must be at your expense, otherwise you can hold the BTC yourself (lender's privilege).

The conditions of the loan are simple. First we will come to an agreement over the terms of your loan to me. Then we will set a date for full repayment plus interest. Once the interest is paid to you at the end of the loan period (within 48 hrs), you must give positive feedback (with a reference) for the full amount of the loan. Failure to give positive feedback will result in you breaking the terms of our contract and I will get to keep the money you lent me. If this is not possible for some reason you agree to receive a scammer tag until I am paid or positive feedback is left on my account for this loan.

Feel free to propose any interest rate and repayment period you like. I can't promise I will take every loan I am offered, obviously this is a buyer's market so to speak, and I will be deal hunting. I will review any and all fair offers. I prefer to discuss the terms in PM and then you can post a statement for the loan which we can use as a reference for establishing trust feedback.

Merry Christmas!

So you're stating that someone can send you 1 BTC and receive 1.x BTC in collateral, and at the end of the loan period receive 1.x  BTC back and that person sends 1.x BTC to you, with the only premise that he leaves you positive feedback?
