181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: September 19, 2017, 11:29:09 AM
Bitcoin trade volume is a shadow of the past, less than 10%. Even it becomes 0 the damage wouldn't be too much and could be easily adsorbed with news users around the world. If the Chinese miners shut down, the difficult would be adjusted and things would go back to normal eventually.

Of course the loss of such big market would always make us think what price could be if things were different.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long does a low-fee transaction usually take? on: September 19, 2017, 11:23:11 AM
You may just want to push it with ViaBtc to make it faster.
If you are just testing then it will really take a while you might want to avoid doing that again. But I heard news that even at a low fee the transactions are getting faster. Havent tries it yet but will later. 500 satoshis is too low and you should know that.

ViaBTC has a minimum transaction fee of 0.0001 BTC that the transaction must have in order to be "pushable" by them.

As I can see there is no reason, except the greed of miners, for transaction with low fee don't go through quickly because the mempool is almost empty and the network is far from being  congested
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ? on: September 19, 2017, 11:11:57 AM
Anything that could destroy Bitcoin can destroy Internet. The governments could kill Internet but would be suicide, unless there is a global war.

Or if all the governments agree to control Internet like China does now. So if the world government becomes a reality, they could kill Bitcoin.

I can't see Bitcoin dying without internet shutting down or without a global government
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh Shit! - China bans Bitcoin yet again. This time for real. on: September 19, 2017, 10:59:51 AM
Again they base their news on anonymous sources. How can we know if the sources ever exist and aren't just an invention to spread FUD?

And if they exist, how can they know they are telling the truth?
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the invention of the century! on: September 17, 2017, 03:16:55 PM
Never think of it as the invention of the century .. what about smart phones?
its more of an idea, a philosophy ..

Smart phones are an invention from the 20th century that only got popular in this century, a good exemple of what I said. According to Wikipedia they got patented in 1994, but since Nikola Tesla himself conceptualized them much before.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan is a cheat. on: September 17, 2017, 03:13:10 PM
They(not only JP Morgan) do it all the time, manipulation by news(say bad things when they want to buy, then change the tone when they want to sell) and play with inside information, specially in 3rd world countries.

Of course with bitcoin the manipulation was more explicit because there is no law against market manipulation and inside information with BTC and people know almost nothing about it, so it is easier to bullshit around and convince people.

The last days have been, let's say, didactic in this aspect.
187  Economy / Speculation / Re: China is buying - Something's coming up on: September 17, 2017, 02:30:05 PM
I guess someone with good contacts and US accounts is buying to do arbitrage. Maybe the exchange owner's themselves.

I think anyone would do the same, if they could.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin, faster drop, incoming explosion? on: September 17, 2017, 02:16:24 PM
With the Bitcoin and Litecoin SegWit Dogecoin is now obsolete for exchanges transfers, and Dogecoin is not accepted in all exchanges.

There is no innovation with Doge and it is based on an old meme, the incoming explosions are just future pumps that may not happen.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin or Dashcoin ? on: September 17, 2017, 02:10:25 PM
https://www.litecoinpool.org/calc

http://www.mycryptobuddy.com/DashMiningCalculator

Other calculators are available too. Always a good idea to expect difficulty to increase substantially within the next six months.

They use different algorithms, so the calculations aren't as straightforward, I think. There are ASICs for Litecoin, I don't know about Dash.

Also the stability of prices in another thing to take into consideration, price may change until you get enough to sell on exchange and the final reward may be different than the one you predicted. I think Litecoin is more stable now.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: September 17, 2017, 01:56:42 PM
Real Madrid will drop ponts against Real Sociedad because they will miss 4 important players like Ramos, Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo. Real Sociedad usually play a good match at their stadium when they face a big team.

Even without them they are dropping points, but they still are Real Madrid, the last year's champions, and Real Sociedad is not a top tier team. Better skip this game.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 17, 2017, 01:49:31 PM
Dortmund   vs FC Koln:

Dortmund is undefeated in 35 games at home and FC Koln has 3 losses in 3 games and comes from back to back 3-0 losses against weaker teams than Dortmund. The best picks are the moneyline(decent at 1.3x) and the respective handicaps.

I think Dortmund wins to nill would be a good pick too because Dortmund have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 home matches against FC Cologne in all competitions.
192  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which Websites and Apps Do You Use to Get Bitcoin/Crypto Info? on: September 17, 2017, 01:45:39 PM
Bitcoin ticker to get information of price on smartphone.
Coinmarketcap and bitstamp to see prices and charts.

The news I get as they are release in the internet with google news
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 0x on: September 17, 2017, 01:33:41 PM
Is 0x a coin?

The name doesn't even make sense and I doubt their purpose makes too, if they have one at all.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 17, 2017, 01:17:59 PM
Napoli vs Benevento, after win ben on juventus, i think bet on napoli is good because they only against promotion team that not have quality. of course it will give easy money for me, i take a bet on napoli -2.5

I'm with Benevento because they are looking in form they will play powerful match against Napoli so i'm with Benevento because they are aggressive and much having ability.

Are you sure about Benevento being in good form? They lost their 3 games in this serie A and Napoli won all 3.

What changed to Benevento since the last round?
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US to remove taxes on bitcoin! more bitcoin=currency stuff on: September 17, 2017, 01:06:58 PM
What is the source?

Where are the official statements?
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin will be used in our daily transactions. on: September 17, 2017, 01:06:16 PM
Bitcoin was not designed for daily small transactions, but to mimic gold and to be used for remittances and larger payments. If bitcoin can be used for smaller payments it is by accident and should not be guaranteed in the future.

But tuition fees are not daily transactions and already is accepted in some universities, as a quick search shows:

197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good News - China on: September 17, 2017, 12:46:46 PM
Which probably means that every exchange will be able to purchase licenses soon.

Do you mean you only have to pay to obtain the license? Or is the purchase part because of corruption?

What are the rules for the new licenses that will be required for Bitcoin exchanges on China?
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the invention of the century! on: September 17, 2017, 12:30:48 PM
The century just started and you already call Bitcoin the invention of the century Huh

Really disruptive inventions usually take some decades to come to life to the general public and usually are known only for experts if not totally secret when they are born. For example: electricity, the atomic bomb, internet, smartphones, flying applied to war and transport, caravels, and so on.

I think, with all respect, that all the inventions above have been more disruptive than Bitcoin  and I doubt there are no similar things(in terms of disruptiviness, if the word exists at all)  being developed now, but still invisible to the public.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Could Free Catalonia From Spain’s Dictate on: September 17, 2017, 11:06:00 AM
State funds are counted in hundred of millions at least, usually billions. How could them buy that many bitcoins so quickly?
And with public money, that can't afford volatility, when they pay the stuff they need to pay, they may very well sell at loss, is it reasonable?

200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @4500$!!!! on: September 17, 2017, 10:58:03 AM
Once people realize that China didn't banned Bitcoin I think price will increase again, specially if some exchanges get the license they need and start their operation in China.

People always said that Bitcoin was a fraud since the first days, even more important people than the JP Morgan guy, so I don't see a relation between the fall and statement, or the price should be negative by now.
