181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Helios Protocol smart contract, decentralised web platform launches testnet on: January 05, 2020, 08:34:47 PM
heres some discussion: the OP looks like a 3 year old did it Tongue
maybe you would get more interest in this if you showed even a more professional understanding of format and typing English words :/
how can you trust a platform that boasts about their hard coding skills, that has team members that cant even manage simple proofreading? Sad
"world beating features"  um, ok?what does that even MEAN?  spelling errors as well...
i still think Helios seems interesting, just hard to have faith in a team that cant even launch a professional OP :/
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of key areas to look out for in 2020 on: January 05, 2020, 07:47:39 PM
Here are lists of some key concepts and projects that i think will definitely advance significantly more this year.

1. Libra/Calibra
2. Bitcoin Halving
3. Gaming Development on Blockchain
4. Defi Growth
5. Central Bank Currencies
6. Infrastructure and Web 3.0

Nice man i could agree with this list, except maybe Libra, idk if thats EVER gonna go live at this point Tongue
i also think the central banks ARE implementing blockchain tech, but they WONT announce an official currecny, they will just act like they made their services better , but its really they are just on a chain now
whats DEfi? ive heard alot about that one, hmm
halving for sure yupp should help as well with some excitement

184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next big thing in crypto? on: January 04, 2020, 08:14:13 AM
The advent of Bitcoin's blockchain technology has opened up a world of possibilities that were never imagined. People can finally achieve financial freedom by being their own bank anytime, anywhere. In 2017, there was the ICO boom where crypto land was filled with hype with many companies launching their own business ventures. Everything has been about smart contracts, on-chain privacy, and Blockchain-based gaming. But ever since prices started to decline back in 2018, there has been a lost of interest into crypto and Blockchain tech from people in the mainstream world.

It's now 2020, where many exciting events are yet to come. Bitcoin will experience another reduction in its block reward (halving), while Ethereum becomes closer to adopting PoS into its blockchain network. The space is definitely maturing, but the level of demand is still a lot less than it was back in 2017.

Nonetheless, I'm curious to know what's the next big thing in crypto? Huh

ooo hard to say man, its all been done at this point haha.  Tho every year the whales seem to create SOMETHING in the way of hype
did the "DEX hype" ever play out tho? maybe that will finish off in 2020 here Tongue
other then that i think it will just be the "2.0" hype, everything finishing long development cycles (i.e ETH, zcash), tho that stuff actually is pretty REAL it seems (for once lol)
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Universities offering Blockchain degrees? on: January 04, 2020, 06:26:47 AM
I've toppled with a few online course sites like Coursera and Udemy which offer certificates of completion for the field of Blockchain. I'm aware of a mainstream University called the "University of Nicosia" which is offering a Master's Degree in Blockchain technology. But so far, prominent Universities within the mainstream world haven't offered Blockchain degrees yet. I'm sure that many Universities will start offering this since Blockchain technology is the future of finance. It's no secret that many businesses and companies are seeking talent in Blockchain tech. Having a degree in Blockchain, would allow you to gain recognition within the mainstream world.

Which is why, I'm on the hunt for Universities which are offering Blockchain degrees these days. I'd prefer to take courses online than physically for many obvious reasons. A comprehensive list of Universities offering Blockchain degrees would be helpful. Thanks in advance Smiley

its kinda funny to think of a university offering a degree in blockchain, man the industry is only 10 years old! who has the EGO to call themselves a teacher already? haha
maybe Antonopolis could teach a degree on it Tongue    people just cashing in tho, degree in blockchain...lol
the sadddest part is now theres going to be "official accreditations" , like who makes these rules?  greed is all.   greed is making the rules it seems : /

186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Crypto at Gas Stations on: January 04, 2020, 05:47:54 AM
It's 2020, yet crypto and Blockchain technology are still in their infancy. The introduction of smart contracts (via the Ethereum blockchain) to the mainstream world, has opened up a plethora of possibilities that were never imagined. Many companies have launched their own tokens via ICOs, IEOs, and even STOs. On the hand, stablecoins have been the hottest trend within the crypto space as they provide the convenience of Fiat with the security of the Blockchain.

Now, imagine if a mainstream company creates a Blockchain token that could be used at Gas Stations worldwide? This would definitely increase adoption of crypto and Blockchain tech within the mainstream world like never before. After all, paying for gas is a necessity these days for transportation. This, coupled up with self-serve, could be quite revolutionary. I'd imagine people driving to a gas station and paying with crypto from their phone in their own car to get their gas tank filled automatically. This hasn't been implemented yet, but it would be cool to see it happen someday.

What are your thoughts? Huh

thats a great idea, excellent use case for blockchain one day id say! Smiley   i guess, yes, the only problem would be hacking :O
imagine the sketchy shit people could do, form evil shit, to simply getting free gas
of course, ATMS still run on Windows XP and thats considered an acceptable risk, so maybe a few hacks would be as well Tongue
some projects claim they are working on ways to verify, like checksums, smart contracts, so maybe that wont be an issue tho one day Smiley
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and Altcoin Price Movement on: January 04, 2020, 03:16:45 AM

When the value of cryptos falls, many traders double down – effectively strengthening their commitment to a course of action that is potentially risky – because the prices are so low. As with the pattern demonstrated from this short market tale, here's to how you can capture a price swing or “one large move.” By this we can conclude that we need to be careful on our alt trades and need to be sure on accumulations backed by TA and FA studies. Where are we heading is the moment of truth from this article! https://medium.com/mark-price/the-chop-c55567cb7d26

Ya the correlation of prices between BTC and alts i think is one of the many things traders learn quickly in crypto
the new traders maybe havent seen enough swings to see how it works and to capitalize on it like the vets, but they learn (or burn quickly hehe)
of course it dosent mean its a guarantee they follow eachother either, thats why TA is so shakey in crypto imo, way too unpredictable : /
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What about NEO? on: January 04, 2020, 01:53:54 AM
i think NEO should survive, i like the way you described it by highlighting that smart contracts can be developed in other languages, i think thats its biggest selling point
does it still give GAS as PoS mechanism? i always liked that about it too, as far as chinacoins go, NEO is a dece one i think
it was a good ICO (as ANS) too, i regret selling all mine when it hit ath there a while ago, the GAS was nice to collect Sad
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram refuses SEC's demands - Deposition this month on: January 03, 2020, 06:19:08 PM
its so crazy that telegram raised like 2 BILLION dollars for whats literally a MSN messenger app
atleast they followed discord and stole a buncha UI changes, that shit was so 90's... still kinda is but atleast theres channels now
i was hoping they would launch the token, was gonna be a funny bloodbath Sad  oh well lol  was just a cash grab anyways
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Real Trading Brokers on: January 03, 2020, 04:40:01 AM
Any real online trading broker that aren't scam at all? I can't find any legit trading platform and apps like olymp trade, expert option, iqoption aren't real, there are some YouTube videos saying bad things about them, any users on here that have used these platforms before?

Their scam dude, in my opinion, yes , basically all of them (at least up till now).
Its actually sux, as this is an area that could and should be pioneering in the crypto scene, same level and casinos
it sux that Cryptocurrency's biggest usecase right now is for gambling :(that and as a speculative store of value, which isnt how it was intended i dont think
in the future i hope this evolves more.  For now just invest elsewhere with your crypto man
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A question about ETH2.0 on: January 03, 2020, 04:02:27 AM
If i want to be a validator of ETH2.0, what kind of computer configuration should i prepare for?

I have a computer with
  • 2.6hz 4xcore
  • 8g ram
  • 160g ssd

Should i preare a bigger ssd for the new eth wallet?

imo you will probably be fine with 2gb ram and a 500gb HDD, it cant be much more expensive to run, as then it would hurt decentralization
tbh tho, most people, like me included likely, will just use trusted pools, exchanges like Binance will probably offer shared staking, same with Coinbase
really its just wait and see tho, 2020 SHOULD hopefully give us some hard numbers on what to expect in that area (hopefully)
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any change this year? on: January 03, 2020, 03:08:47 AM
What are you going to do with 2020, give up or continue to survive.

i will continue to survive, i secured my future years ago, anything now is just extra Smiley
it will be hard for those who havent already established themselves tho, as the space gets more saturated by desperate third worlders
its gonna change alot of lives, as it already has Smiley    Best of luck in 2020 man, take what you make and invest invest invest!
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 3 Cryptocurrency Marketplaces on: January 03, 2020, 01:35:07 AM
Hello all,

I found this very interesting article about the top marketplaces based around Cryptocurrency. What do you think about the current cryptocurrency marketplaces such as OpenSea? Are there anymore that the article missed out on? You can read the article by clicking on the link below.

https://www.publish0x.com/crypto-101/top-3-cryptocurrency-marketplaces-xdxrwr?a=GELe3POa69

On top of that, the blogging platform is a great way to earn crypto for free. You can earn crypto for voting on articles and also for creating content. You can earn DAI and BAT currently but it is a better way than to just do bounties where you have no idea when the token will become live on an exchange. You can sign up through the article. Hope to see you there!

publishox seems to be trying really hard, but idk, i still dont think they will be the "one" blogging platform
tbh, imo these guys should have just partnered their ideas with an established project, Steem or w.e there did it first, why not partner?
too many crypto projects are too busy wanting to sell their own ideas when they should just be working together, at this point we have 20 of everything and nothing usable  : /
as far as marketplaces goes, same thing, people should just use Openbazarr, they were an original
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any thoughts about this market tale? on: January 02, 2020, 07:01:46 AM
It’s somewhat technical, the truth is adopters think it’s the most effective tool and its object –price action- the ultimate determinant of profits in trading activities. What is it? I want to hear your opinion about it after reading the article below

https://medium.com/mark-price/the-aftermath-78742a4992f6

haha cute little write up, i like the narrative style Smiley
Its a shame TA is completely useless in crypto, theres generally no rules in the market here, and the few rules there are came in too late
theres massive manipulation, and noone knows who hodls what size bags of any one coin/token, its insane.
good read tho :p
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Masternodes & Esports Huge News for 2020 on: January 02, 2020, 06:11:57 AM
sounds a bit hypey to me, all compoundy interest and shit Tongue
are you sure your thread dosent belong in like Service Discussion or something tho?
this isnt really specific altcoin discusion, tho i do agree esports and crypto will grow even more moving into 2020

196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Reasons to Buy This Coin in 2020 | Beam Review | Atomic Swaps | Halving on: January 02, 2020, 05:56:10 AM
Beam is a good coin if you got in early, mined a bunch in the beginning and shit
will it survive long term? time will tell i guess Smiley it will always kinda just be a coin that followed others greatness to me personally
imo most projects that started as late as it did 95% arent bringing anything NEW to the table, thts where i feel like beam sits
will prob pump once low enough tho Tongue

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum upgrade to POS blockchain Vs. Bitcoin Halving[Ian Balina statement] on: January 02, 2020, 04:15:15 AM
i wish these scrubs would just come talk on forums like real people lol
These twitter warriors, is this how we will hash out our opinions during this revolution? on twitter? Cheesy
but hey, even a broken clock is right twice a day, eh? they will maybe be correct someday, then hail themselves twitter market gurus (since apparently thats a thing)
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Would Be Your 2020 Stand Out Crypto Investment ? on: January 02, 2020, 03:37:20 AM
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

What would be your stand out crypto investment for 2020.

An existing token or coin?

An upcoming ICO or IEO?

Have you seen something you are contemplating investing in? Let us share ideas and thoughts in this thread  Grin

Happy new year man Smiley   if this wasent the alt section of course i would just say BTC,as i think its gonna be really strong in 2020
but for an alt, ETH for sure man, IF, an that's a big if, it goes PoS, i believe it will hit easy 500$+ in 2020
BnB maybe too if they keep on doing stuff and burning it.
upcoming ICO, idk as i gave up on those, but honestly i should probably keep my eyes out, as you never know what might launch actually...
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Debate Ensues After 68% of BCH Hashrate Mined by Stealth Miners on: January 01, 2020, 06:08:02 AM
Quote
68% of the BCH Hashrate Was Recently Processed by Unknown Miners

On Monday, a post on the Reddit forum r/btc explained that “untrusted hash is at nearly 70%.” The r/btc thread detailed that on Dec. 30, statistics indicate that roughly 68% of the overall BCH hashrate is being processed by miners not willing to disclose their identity. When a known mining pool finds a block, in the coinbase there’s usually a message which identifies who mined the block. However, in 2019 both SHA-256 networks BTC and BCH saw a significant increase in mystery miners processing the chains. In January, two research reports noticed the increasing trend of unknown miners as Coin Metrics and Diar both published findings on the subject. At the time, Diar’s report said that unknown miners could be “concerning” and just because the miner does not disclose its identity, it doesn’t mean the hash is not from a known pool. Coin Metrics wrote that the analytics firm also noticed a resurgence of mystery miners during the start of 2019.

https://news.bitcoin.com/debate-ensues-after-68-of-bch-hashrate-mined-by-stealth-miners/

What are your thoughts on this?

I'm sure everyone here is familiar with the 51% attack, but this unknown miners controls 68% of of the hashrate of BCH so it's possible that they can pull it off, just saying. It's really concerning if you're a BCH bag holders, (I'm not).  Smiley. So you need to come to your senses here, just saying.

i could never wish destruction upon another chain, but BCH deserves what they get, they started this war as far as im concerned, and continue it too!
"an attack against one is an attack against all", but sorry BCH, thats dosent count you hehe.
Would sure be crazy to see someone do some malicious shit, but i fear the effect on exchanges, i wonder if they have protections form previous situations in place now, hmm...
2020 is gonna be insane lol, so much shit building up :O
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 888,888 KickTokens Frozen Drop to each of 167,375 crypto users on: January 01, 2020, 05:11:32 AM
Kicktokens decided to do frozen drop to some random crypto users and interestingly I received it on two of my Ethereum addresses.

Condition to unlock the frozen drop is still unknown. Airdrops are good to attract the attention of users.

Anyone here who got lucky and got the Airdrop as well?

Read more: https://medium.com/@kickecosystem/888-888-kicktokens-frozen-drop-to-170-000-crypto-users-is-coming-2937a1abf641

fricken kicktokens, isnt that a scamtoken? lol   , had an ICO then "got hacked" to not have to actually do anything or something?
idk, i justremember some drama with them Tongue
anything given for free has a great chance of being worthless in crypto really fast, i guess maybe a good accumulation chance for anyone who cares about the tokens :p
