401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can CoinMarketCap default to BTC instead of USD? on: November 12, 2019, 10:03:29 PM
Simple question.  I would love to go to CoinMarketCap.com and have the default currency be BTC instead of USD.
Is this possible?

there should be i thought? tbh theres better places to track that stuff nowadays that i KNOW allows that
livecoinwatch is the one i like, can change to any FIAT or crypto $$ value, and also has handy tools like portfolio tracker
CMC is the industry goto, but its so 2016 Tongue they should have evolved like everything else in this scene imo
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 📈[ANN]TradePlus+ POS/MN - Social Trading Meets Blockchain 📈 on: November 12, 2019, 04:57:20 PM
ya definitally just a scam, no reputable company would use stock photos but act like they are their teams photos
theres no excuse, tho usually these scammers DO try a bunch .  Busted! lol
This idea is washed up anyways, there was a project that did this b4, and it fell on its face
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free ATH for everyone who has ETH! on: November 12, 2019, 02:53:20 PM
I came across an article where - Emin Gün Sirer, professor of distributed systems at Cornell, introducing Avalanche (AVA), a new crypto protocol that is described as a platform for platforms.

One such platform to run on AVA is Athereum(ATH), a friendly fork which basically replicates the ethereum network, including all account balances and contracts, onto the new network.

In many ways it’s similar to a chain-split where 1 eth is equal to 1 corresponding coin, in this case, 1 eth plus 1 ATH (athereum).

There is no chain-split however, there’s no contention or anything, but everyone who has eth gets ath. The reason is because they want to showcase the new protocol which is based on what is claimed to be an anonymous paper.

"It describes a new family of consensus protocols that combines the best of Nakamoto consensus with the best of classical consensus. Huge breakthrough,” Sirer said on May 17th 2018.

>> Question: Do we really get free ATH if we have ETH? Will it be same as ETH?

Source: https://www.trustnodes.com/2019/11/10/ethereum-fork-to-give-free-a-eth-meet-ava

meh this happens all the time, i dont know HOW many shitcoins ive been airdropped into my ETH wallet in the last 5 years
99% of these tokens are garbage, i mean if they WERE so "groundbreaking", wouldn't they have their OWN chain? not depending on daddy ETH for their projects life?
i always find that so dumb, tokens that wanna replace ETH, but run off of it... lol
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PDXCoin (PDX) - a new energy-backed cryptocurrency on: November 12, 2019, 02:30:15 PM
This is definitally a scam, barrels of oil haha, do these nub scammers really think thats believable? Cheesy
I cant EVER see a day when someone launches an oil backed crypto on here...lol
If/when oil DOES get onto the blockchain, it will be a private thing by a major company, hell prob already is and we dont even know
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] A Mysterious Airdrop Called EIDOS Is Clogging EOS to Make a Point on: November 12, 2019, 05:38:00 AM
:O interesting!   i guess what goes around comes around, i remember when everyone was scared EOS had so much ETH and they were gonna throw their weight around to do the same thing
They wanted to prove how easily ETH could be clogged up.  lol now its happening to them Cheesy  funny how she goes
Oh, Crypto...  will be interesting to watch this play out
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Istanbul Ethereum Hardfork Soon. How does Forks Improves Coins Value on: November 12, 2019, 04:07:16 AM
Istanbul hardfork for Ethereum mainnet is scheduled for December 4 (block 9069000). Will the value of Ethereum now improve. What really is the essence of these forks and does it really improve prices positively

https://twitter.com/peter_szilagyi/status/1192360910314262529

It might help start the rise, but this is only "phase 1" of ETH's major update (to PoS).  It will still be many months till Eth 2.0 PoS time
Knowing ETH, this will prob have troubles and take an extra 6 months of testing anyways Tongue this IS a major update tho, make no doubt on that. Wait and see i guess! Smiley
Very good job on ETH's teams part, maybe theres hope after all haha
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PAC (Pacquiao) Token Starts Trading from Nov 12. Will You Buy It? If Yes, Why? on: November 12, 2019, 01:40:15 AM
The much-anticipated PAC token backed by boxing champion Manny Pacquiao will be available on the GCOX crypto exchange starting from Nov. 12.

"The token has a variety of uses, as stated by Pacquaio in an email conversation with Cointelegraph:

“PAC token can be used for several purposes, the token will enable fans of the politician and sports star to connect through the Acclaim! social app. Users will receive loyalty points that can then be redeemed for autographed merchandise, complimentary tickets to meet-and-greet events with Pacquiao, as well as multimedia content such as access to live streams and motivational videos."

https://ct.com/80gn

hmm i cant help but feel this is just another celebrity trying to get into the blockchain craze. Alot of these dudes were told its a gold mine : /
I agree with Pearls when he says longevity will be the real hurdle, whats a boxers career last, maybe 20 years? and how many could MANNY have left, MAYBE 10?
What this might do tho is just make cryptocurrency more popularized, mass adoption helps all of us already in the scene imo
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEO 3.0: A MAJOR UPDATE OF THE NEO BLOCKCHAIN IS COMING on: November 11, 2019, 06:42:49 PM
damn this is a sneaky tactic
good thing its easily verifiable and now debunked Cheesy   people wonder why we never trust newbies haha
DEFINITE SCAM, DONT SEND YOUR NEO HERE PEOPLE
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: New Token DualCoin 2019 on: November 11, 2019, 05:10:45 PM
ya thats weird, its str8 404 now...  what kinda freaky shit did you have on this server man? Cheesy haha
maybe the IP has been involved in previous sketchy things, might have a miner, tht can get you blacklisted as well, hmmm...
either way, big nope from me!
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FINALLY- we can now exchange coins between different blockchains on: November 11, 2019, 04:44:17 PM
Hey guys,

We are working on a new dApp which will help you exchange coins between different blockchains. Finally, we made a real implementation of cross-chain atomic swaps and it is working. We start with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tron. Soon also EOS, NEO, Aeternity. We are determined to solve the interoperability problems between the different blockchains. It's high time to really start using crypto!

We launch on Nov 20th on the testnet.
If you want, you can write down your ETH address and we will send you some testnet tokens to try swap with the dApp.
Feedback is highly appreciated!

https://jelly.market/

Nice job! its a shame this wasent like 2 years ago, would have been very popular, but your a bit late. still should be popular tho Wink
of course we can always use more services in this scene so its still cool you are running one, but we have really trustworthy ones like Shapeshift now..
I like the idea of TRUE atomic swaps, shapeshift i dont think is, they act as middle man, but im not sure if having a middle man in this situation is all that bad..
Either way, nice to see another Atomic Swap service! Good Luck as you move forward Smiley
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Canada’s 1st Legally-Delivered Stablecoin Launched by Blockchain Venture Capital on: November 11, 2019, 03:49:56 PM
Its not backed by the gov lol, its more so they got PERMISSION to make it, which ya, really dosent mean much lol
Its too easy in crypto to "do things by the book" and still run a scam, as Crypto area is just totally grey still in Canada
In Canada: as long as you receive SOMETHING for your money, you werent scammed. So ya no thanks on this one from me (and im Canadian)
Will be funny to watch this implode tho Tongue
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What have been some of your biggest losses/mistakes and successes with trading? on: November 10, 2019, 09:10:19 PM
Any interesting stories to pass the time while we wait for the next boom?

i used to sell my NANO (then XRB) for like 100 sats daily.  many people did, it was easy to get and profitable
when it first launched it was given away from a faucet at 1000 coins per claim, and there was no timer on the faucet, you could claim all day. i got millions daily
i remember thinking it was broken and asking the dev and he said it was on purpose to get the coins out there

XRB got rebranded into NANO, and later had an ATH of 30+$ per coin.....     people had millions of coins, but we all sold them for cheap Cheesy
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CYBER:like google but cyber|Tendermint|Knowledge Consensus Supercomputer on: November 10, 2019, 06:07:20 PM

it kinda sux that the rewards have been private members only till now, gonna be like VBK and when this goes mainnet there will be millions of coins from testnet carried over? : /
kinda feels like "ok we got our bags full, now time to go public" Sad   ill still probably participate as a validator, but i definitally suggest others beware speculating when this hits exchanges haha
i know i will be Tongue  learnt that lesson b4 on these type distros lol.  its not bad when its public, but ya when private groups stack in private THEN go public after thats kinda sketchy to me : /

We haven't been private at all. We have been public since day one. Talking about the project at conferences, and some chats. Of course, you have to understand that the project is self funded at this moment and resources aren't as big as we would like them to be (((

So, yeah, I guess we are trying as best as we can to tell the world about this. And hoping people like you can help us in that mission =)

BTW, there has only been 1 incentivized testnet so far, this means that there are still a lot (and I mean A LOT, for example the distribution games plus our 10% gift of the total supply) more to come. Also please consider what was already mentioned above by Gangster-Hamster - testnet validator aren't getting the largest orf rewards in the world (then again we cannot employ them for free).

So I believe that now is the right chance to jump in ;-)

i guess when i say "public"  i mean started a thread on a FORUM, not traveled to local events (theres 1000's yearly worldwide they are impossible to sift thru)
im sure you guys hung out on twitter where noone can have any real conversations and people censor/block anything they dont wanna hear, but that holds no value to some (believe it or not)
i just wish this woulda been announced here months ago when it started is all i'm saying, a.k.a "public" as in grassroots public, not crypto twitter/github public Sad
you have private angels i get it, they need fresh krill, but it wont be me sorry.     This is only imo of course, im sure the institutional dudes will love it haha
I look forward to seeing this evolve! Good Luck  Smiley
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend - online since 2014 [ Core 0.17 soon] on: November 10, 2019, 05:47:55 PM
Limux guy who allegedly sent out the adirdrop wasnt available at the time coin transactions were made. Someone else did that. Whether that was done intentionally or under coercion is not relevant to the case but rumor has it, something bizarre happened to bitsend team members. The coin had been spick and span until a point when... it snapped and never recovered again

hehe that kinda sounds like a cop out Cheesy  i mean noone should be SURPRISED this coin did what it did, we all knew that from the beginning, no?
it was literally ONLY a free airdrop coin, it never had a single use case, why would it have survived?
funny tho people making up stories, to try save their reputation im sure, but dont worry, people will remember this no matter Wink
crypto never forgets

415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: iBitHub (IBH) - SCRYPT ALGORYTHM (POW) on: November 10, 2019, 05:17:20 PM
I have never heard of most of these services and wouldn't trust depositing on that exchange if you paid ME Cheesy
The coin is also garbo, scrypt PoW? 2012 called, they want their shitcoin back....
also: you posted this on the wrong board, you want to move this to ANNouncments (Altcoins) or maybe just the trash Tongue
You can move this post to the proper board by an option in the bottom of your OP

416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitsend can bounce back again? on: November 10, 2019, 04:57:18 PM
I was holding bitsend coins since 2014 but now I'm worried about bitsend coin because bittrex has delisted the bitsend coin few weeks ago after that bitsend price was gone down deeply and there in no good trading volume in crypto market.
The bitsend team also not announce any latest updates about bitsend coin.

There is any chance bitsend bounce back again?

uhh, dont hodl your breath on that one man Cheesy i dont see it coming back unless something drastic happens Sad
The coin was only made for an airdrop token/to make some money from the dev, so its to be expected tho. He never promised anything special really
Lucky its even listed at this point really : /
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy Dogecoin on: November 10, 2019, 07:13:10 AM
Buy Dogecoin
buy 30 sat
sell 40/45 sat

DOGE always pumps, its just a matter of when really, and its been sitting at 30 for a while, longer then usual
i also have been telling my trader buddies to stock up, as its felt like its gonna explode for the last month, its taking its time tho this go around it seems haha
its too long term for my portfolio personally, i like to short term trade, but anyone whos long should always have doge in their basket in my opinion
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Emerging Markets of Cryptocurrencies on: November 10, 2019, 06:15:20 AM
its kinda strange this coin is so worthless given its block reward and distribution structure, 5% of the current supply is like 30$ on market right now : /
it seems like your actually trying to write and stuff, i think the scene is just too saturated with too many alts right now
people that have technical bandwidth should just work together, everyone and their programming mother is making a coin lately Tongue
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP will be utilized by one of biggest bank in Peru for Cross Border Payment! on: November 10, 2019, 03:19:02 AM
Id say yes, XRP could be a top crypto in the future, it has serious use case and really good market adoption already
Ive always felt the countries where the US dollar is super strong, like in this case Peru, would be the places crypto as a currency would really shine
i wonder if they will just move their bank to a blockchain? allowing for faster and more transparent and secure records, or if they will adopt XRP?
Id imagine they would just move their bank over to a blockchain, thats what most banks are doing (while still demonizing BTC, grrr)
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity news! on: November 10, 2019, 12:18:36 AM
Fidelity Digital Asset Services has announced the full launch of its cryptocurrency custodial and trading services for qualified investors.

So, maybe it is the sign that after some time we will see some growth?

Yes, I believe we could finally see some growth with this Fidelity Digital asset services. Investors just need to take that leap of faith so they can be beneficiaries of this project afterwards

idk man didnt seem to spark much conversation when that was originally posted Tongue ive never heard of this company(? <<-- there's zero info on the site about WHO they are, just WHAT they do)
Just giving it a quick few min look see tho, they offer custodial services for BTC it seems? well Coinbase does that, and people would trust Coinbase more to do large custody i would think, no?
Their gonna have a hard time convincing people to use their service over an ESTABLISHED one...
