181  Economy / Services / Joint Venture with Developers on: October 26, 2013, 10:45:04 AM
Over the last few months I have been brainstorming lots of potential ideas for Bitcoin related startups. As a designer I have lots of experience with branding, designing websites and so on, even creating physical merchandise.

I am curious if any developers would like to work with me on a Bitcoin related project, most likely something web based using the WordPress CMS as I have a lot of useful premium tools for the CMS. My coding knowledge is limited to HTML and CSS so ideally someone proficient enough in coding languages would be great. I have a empty forum which could function as a platform to share ideas and develop plans for projects.

PM me if you would like to find out more about some of my ideas and if you have your own then feel free to share them...

I also wonder what this means for Silk Road users also? Do silk road have any info from users? I have never even visited the site so I don't know how it worked.  Cheesy

I am not one of those wannabe mods I just figured some of the comments on the topic are worth reading. This event could actually be positive for Bitcoin.

Common sense would make you think that the bitcoin community should react positive with this news. Like i said elsewhere, we are years away from them deciding the case, so those coins are not going to hit the market any time soon.... So, we know that those coins will be out of the loop for years, unless DPR strikes a deal, which I dont think is going to happen...

And in the mean time bitcoin grows, and when the FBI finally does sell them, they suddenly have a trillion dollars to spend on privacy invasion.

They don't need Bitcoin money for that. I personally think those Bitcoins will stay in government agency accounts and probably moved around. They could even use it for propaganda, they could send it to a particular group and spread it across the media to give Bitcoin a bad rep, without relinquishing control over their holdings. What we know about the state of internet privacy is the equivalent of the military announcing their "new" tech, something built years before and kept secret. They are always a good few years ahead in most technology.

LOL... I did an internship with the FBI.... just LOL.

You must be hired to spread propaganda then. Notme is a shill! Tongue

It looks like the address has been filled in multiple increments of 324 BTC.

324 = FBI? (telephone keypad)
Damn, I bet you're right.
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=324+FBI&oq=324+FBI&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l4.1598j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8
324 does seem to be used in their phone numbers so I guess it has significance to the FBI.

Yahoo Awnsers
"i dunno i had a friend tell me once that she actually used to call the fbi (324-fbi on the numbers on the phone) i dunno how true that is call it maybe it works idk and ask questions if you get anything. and im not tryin to be funny i really heard it idk good luck."

Has this hit other Bitcoin news networks yet?
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10 VS. $10,000 - What Say You? on: October 25, 2013, 11:08:24 AM
$1000 is the answer, but why did you do this $1000?

I edited $1000 to $10000 as it was evident $1000 was not enough to make people think twice.

$10 VS. $10,000 - What Say You?

190  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10 VS. $10,000 - What Say You? on: October 24, 2013, 07:41:49 PM
I do think it looks promising for Bitcoin, it would take a major catastrophe to knock it down to $10. Plus we would need an alternative as I doubt crypto would just die off, if it did hit $10 I don't feel there are any worthy alternatives yet.  I can imagine in a year or so we will being saying the same about $100 as an unlikely possibility.
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10 VS. $1000 - What Say You? on: October 24, 2013, 06:06:05 PM
To be honest I thought $1000 might not be enough, I am going to make a sneaky edit and change the price to $10,000. I am sure some would like to see £100,000.  Tongue

You sneaky bastard.

I'd still say $10k, the high side.  If btc hits $1k, which is more likely than $10, it would seem extremely less probably it'd go back to $10 (or even $200-) at that point.

I agree, I cannot see Bitcoin's price going below $50 from now on to be honest.

Well $10 is a 20x loss, so you might want to compare it with a 20x gain: $4000.

I think $4000 is way more likely, like maybe 10 to 1 odds.

I could but this question is not so much about the math, but rather if you feel Bitcoin will fail or succeed. Let's stick to 10k otherwise the thread will get confusing lol.

193  Economy / Speculation / $10 VS. $10,000 - What Say You? on: October 24, 2013, 05:53:33 PM
I would like to find out which of the two prices you think is most likely to happen (first) in the future. Obviously this is purely out of interest just to find out which of the two extremes the majority are leaning towards. Also please don't make up random prices like "I think it will reach $250,000 Cheesy!", this is all about which you feel is most likely to happen first not what it could ultimately reach.

Two Options:
$10 per Bitcoin
$1000 per Bitcoin
$10,000 per Bitcoin
194  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS Golden Airplane - Bitcointalk Exclusive 50BTC on: October 22, 2013, 04:20:49 PM
I am interested in buying several planes. Is this your only model?

I have them custom built, there are actually some newer models in production, at the moment they are being tested in the Lockheed Skunk Works as they were eager to take a look.

So, are they gold?  or "gold"?

This airplane is made of premium quality, ultra durable, micro crystal coated gold card.

At the hangar...

Please note I only have one of these models, you will have to outbid each other if you want it.

That's right, this luxurious golden airplane is available for purchase exclusively on Bitcointalk.org. The plane is fully functional and it can fly fairly long distances without any issues, well I should mention that former models have proven not very suitable for rain conditions. I could go into all the specs of this amazing airplane but I will just let the picture speak for itself. You can make any offer but I am looking for around 50 BTC, the plane can be flown to you by mail and shipping in the UK is free. Thanks. Smiley
197  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Wax Seal Stamp on: October 22, 2013, 03:27:43 PM
Ha, now I wish I had kept all those stupid scented candles my sis gave away instead of thrift storing them.

Does normal candle wax work too? I assumed not as the seal wax for these stamps are sold in smaller quantity.
198  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Physical Bitcoin/Crypto Magazine (Good or Bad idea?) on: October 20, 2013, 07:47:56 PM
Have you heard of Bitcoin Magazine?

I noticed that site today, to be honest I thought it was just an online magazine and I did not look in it to much. The magazine looks official considering the team involved, I still think there might be some room for an alternative. Maybe one magazine is enough? Tongue
199  Bitcoin / Project Development / Physical Bitcoin/Crypto Magazine (Good or Bad idea?) on: October 20, 2013, 05:13:14 PM
Today the thought popped into my mind to create a physical magazine, either for Bitcoin or perhaps a more general crypto-currency related mag. I realize phsyical copy is getting a bit old-school now days however I still purchase physical magazines and books, I think physical copies are also a great way to spread the word. An E-Book / dedicated website could also accompany the magazine. As a graphic designer I have experience publishing magazines, branding and even web design so I have all the skills necessary to create the visuals and format the content. One slight issue is that I am unfortunately a terrible writer. Cheesy

This leads me to the second point, finding writers would be critical to the success of the magazine. Initially the articles could be composed of blog posts and articles that authors want to share on the magazine, in return they would get the added exposure. I think an unconventional magazine would be the best approach, Bitcoin is innovative and anti establishment to a degree so the magazine could reflect those principles.

Ideas:
  • Promote Bitcoin related business
  • Discus recent events
  • Perhaps add some informed speculation
  • Added exposure to potential investment oppurtunites
  • Perhaps even some ethical art (antipropaganda etc...)
  • Dedicate pages to support Bitcoin accepting charitiy
  • Allow advertising goods/services

Added Extras:
  • Posters
  • Stickers
  • Coupons

Dedicated Altcoin:
Another interesting idea would be to create a new altcoin especially for the magazine and its users. Some copies could include large amounts as a bonus, obviously these wont be in competition with Bitcoin but they could be redeemable for products or services.

What do you think?
I would appreciate genuine opinions on this. What kind of content would interest you? Would you buy a Bitcoin/Crypto magazine? How much would you expect to pay? If there is enough positive feedback I could create a test copy, providing I get enough writers on board. I think initially this would be a monthly magazine, it depends how much content we get and of course if Bitcoin users actually want a physical copy mag.

Note: This is just a quick concept cover, obviously headlines and more details would go into the final magazine.

If someone does buy it contact me and I will update the branding and make it look kick ass.
