Indeed you are right GazetaBitcoin! My idea was to channel whatever amount the collectible gathered in the auction to directly support icopress efforts in supporting his country.
Of course, I'm 100% in favor of it and I'll be very happy to send your win of 1 mBTC to icopress as well.  Smiley
I might do the same for my prize money but let's see if I can achieve place number 2 first.  Cheesy Cheesy

It's for a good cause and I'm sure it'll help icopress a lot.

Now I know about our giveaway rule and I have a solution for not breaking the rule and also support RickDeckard in his noble gesture.
Since RickDeckard has won the card, he decided to donate it, which is 100% aligned with our rules and I totally support his idea.  Smiley
How could we expect that buying your BonBon L couch is directly helping Ukrainians and icopress? You really made a good decision by buying your BonBon L couch. It's generating so much positivity.  Cheesy
1803  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Ist "diversifizieren" in mehrere Kryptowährungen wirklich sinnvoll? on: February 04, 2023, 10:07:17 PM

https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/20190106/
Top5 Alts damals: ETH, XRP, BCH, EOS, LTC
...

Smiley Smiley
1804  Other / Meta / Re: [Results 2022] Bitcointalk Community Awards on: February 04, 2023, 09:50:49 PM
Such a solution would make it more fair to reward more members.  Smiley
I'm not entirely sure about that. More members, sure - more fair, I don't know.

...
I'm all about encouraging instead of discouraging, so therefore I lean against such a solution.
I'm also all about encouraging instead of discouraging but I don't see how my suggestion would be discouraging members to report rule-breaking content and low-value post. The winner would still win quite a nice amount of valuable BTC for his reporting, something that didn't exist in previous years (before Bitcointalk had such yearly rewards) and even back then, we had quite some good reporters.
I could even argue, that implementing my suggestion would encourage more members to report spam because it's more likely for more members to get a part of the BTC-rewards cake.
1805  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Defaulted [SiNeReiNZzz] on: February 03, 2023, 01:10:56 AM
I totally agree here. The amount scammed by SiNeReiNZzz is crazy low and he would receive this amount via his signature campaign in just a few weeks to pay the loan off.
But instead, he decided to scam shasan and ruin his own account.
There's still a little possibility that he'll come back once he realizes how stupid his move was but as said, it's very unlikely.  Roll Eyes
Some members found that he was active on Twitter and Telegram. That means he is active everywhere except the forum.
In our local board, reports came up that SiNeReiNZzz had been active on Stake (a Casino site) last year as well and talked to at least one member.

Maybe he doesn't want to think about how stupid this decision is.
He should, for sure. He could have saved himself from so much trouble. 0.01 BTC is barely nothing to ruin his account.
4 weeks of signature campaigns would have re-paid that amount for sure.

On the other hand if we think that he is in a serious problem and having trouble repaying this loan, then he could have been active and asked @shasan for some more time to repay the loan, instead of being inactive like this.
Exactly! And shasan would have waited for sure... shasan has been very generous already as his payback date was postponed multiple times...
It's really hard to understand why SiNeReiNZzz made that stupid decision...
1806  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Aktuelle Gewinnspiele im Forum on: February 03, 2023, 01:00:23 AM
1807  Other / Meta / Re: [Results 2022] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: February 03, 2023, 12:53:30 AM
I see we have some winners again from the same category as the previous year, maybe we should have an award for two-time bitcointalk award winners  Cheesy

That's an interesting idea. Maybe we can make a nomination for those which succeeded that, like there is a position inside some companies named Honorary Chairman... Like a sign of recognition.
I would do it quite the other way round. If there's a previously winning member in the Top 3 in the respective category, I would give an award to place number 4 as well + spilt the BTC prize money between the previous winner and the runner up.
For example, votes have been counted as following:

- CryptoLion (45)
- CryptoShark (41)
- CryptoDolphin (21)
- CryptoFish (18)
- CryptoLOL (11)
- CryptoROFL (7)

But CryptoLion has been a winner previously in the same category. Now, CryptoFish would also win an award (as runner up) and prizes are split between CryptoLion and CryptoFish evenly.
If CryptoShark has been a winner previously in the same category as well, same procedure applies and CryptoLOL will also win an award + prize money is split between CryptoShark and CryptoLOL evenly.

Such a solution would make it more fair to reward more members.  Smiley

And we are a bit sad to realize that our giveaway for celebrating GazetaBitcoin's new couch, Bonbon L, is already over.  Cry

This is the worst part
You are 100% right here...

I will PM him today, in case he does not see the post. If he refuses it I propose to make a short raffle with the participants of the "couch raffle".
Looking forward to your reply.
But as our rules are stating, if the winner refuses it, it'll be allocated for the next giveaway. So, if it should be refused we have to allocate it to our next givwaway. And that's also leading to our next giveaway: I'm already planning to hold an educational giveaway as I've done some years before.  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley
For this giveaway, I would allocate some valuable BTC of course and we could add your card, too.  Smiley

The funny part: RickDeckard has been the one who reminded me in late 2021 to do such a giveaway once again.  Cheesy

RickDeckard has won our giveaway, many congratulations to him, well done!
Here is his winner prediction. In my opinion, his win is 100% deserved, because RickDeckard's prediction has been very detailed.
To win an event made in honor of Bonbon L is something that I couldn't be more happier!
Truly spoken like a deserving winner! Might that win bring you prosperity and a lucky HODL of your coins.  Wink

Places 2 and 3 are a draw because icopress and 1miau both have a 5 point gap.  Cheesy
Now, we need a solution to determine a winner for the second place. My suggestion would be: predict the last Bitcoin Block mined in February 2023.
But icopress and a majority of our participants need to agree here.
I tend to agree with this option albeit I think it may be a long period between the end of the 1st run and the guessing of the 2nd and 3rd place winner... What do you think of meeting half way - EOD 14 February - as the final date for guessing the last mined BTC block?
But it would shorten our remaining celebration time.  Cry

And I need your Bitcoin address for sending your valuable BTC.  Smiley

Alternative solution for 2nd/3rd place: Combine the prizes and split evenly, so both get 0.375 mBTC.
It's a solution but it's also a solution where we would lose almost 4 weeks of additional celebration time!  Cry

I'll PM 1miau with an address.
+1
Great move and I'll send it to that destination at least Saturday afternoon.

Cheesy
Ich wäre zumindest dabei.  Wink

Congratulations to all winners!

I've presented the result already in our German topic here as citb0in from our local board has won a small prize in "Discovery of the year".

I'm already looking forward to our next round.  Smiley

1812  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Die Default Trust wurde geändert ! on: February 02, 2023, 12:53:07 AM

Platz streiten. Jetzt gerade liegt Ted_Zz mit 2$ vor mole0815 Cheesy

1815  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Die Default Trust wurde geändert ! on: January 31, 2023, 11:25:55 PM

Undecided
1816  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Defaulted [SiNeReiNZzz] on: January 31, 2023, 11:09:14 PM
I don't know what happened to him, a legendary rank account of good reputation ran away with this small amount (not a big amount according to his rank and reputation). If he had been active in this forum and participated in a signature campaign, it would not have taken much time to pay off this loan. But he became inactive and ruined his reputation.
Roll Eyes

Flag supported and left a feedback.
Done, too.
I'm hoping as well that DT members will distrust him as he might also try to sell his account (which is unlikely, too, but we are better off to avoid risk here).

...
When Ulbricht launched Silk Road, he probably didn't have any bad intentions, so we should consider that when judging him.
But yes, Ulbrichts actions resulted in a lot of damage.
The early days of when Bitcoin was launched, many criminals abused it and unfortunately a lot of them gathered on Silk Road for criminal business.
The dust settled now, the criminal use of Bitcoin is decreasing and maybe one day, Ulbricht will be released from jail. I would not rule it out.  Smiley

Since the option of "none of them" has been added in the poll, I think one more option should have been added - "both of them".
Good point, I would also like to see such an option, since it would change the outcome probably. And you can't vote for both in OP's poll.

For this gentleman I fell into FTX Token Scam in November 2022 worth $1500.
Sad to hear, mate! I hope it isn't all of your money and you had most of your money in a private wallet.
Always make sure, that you don't store your valuable coins on exchanges.
It's even more risky than trading!

They cannot be compared, but its illogical one is in prison and one is free... If Ross payed for killing, then he should be in prison... for the rest I can see something which started with a good idea, with a lot of freedom etc ....
SBF is a scam from the start and we will never know what exactly happened with politicians etc but for sure a lot happened which hurt lots of people
Like I said, there is nothing logical in this clown world, especially if you are watching mainstream brainwashing all the time.
That's a slogan often used mostly by fascists who don't have any arguments left, so these fascists claim it's all "brainwashing by msm". In reality the world is much more complex that in the heads of these extremists.
In general, the concept of "msM bAd" is antithetical to what an educated person would do: hear all the arguments, evaluate the arguments and look at the education of the people voicing the arguments. For example, a gardener is probably a bad source for planetary science and so on.  Cheesy Cheesy

The funny thing: the conspiracy nut crowd has started producing a massive amount of lies over the last 5 years (probably more than over the last 25 years combined), and that will become a big problem for the conspiracy theorists as more and more of it is proven as a lie. Nobody willtake them serios anymore at some point.

Regardless, the claim that Ross Ulbricht is innocent is not something I believe. He was aware that millions of dangerous illegal trades were taking place on the Silk Road, but he did nothing about it.
As far as I know, Ulbricht admitted that SilkRoad has been a mistake.
I also expect he was not fully aware, that Silk Road would get abused like that.
And personally, I would always re-evaluate an imprisonment if that person had admitted their mistake and if the person still is a danger for society.
I don't know if that's a valid argument since I’m not a lawyer but when releasing someone from prison, we should also consider: how likely is it, that the person who's currently in jail will do crimes again, when he's released?
Is it more beneficial for society to keep him in prison or is it more beneficial to release him?
And for Ulbricht, I believe, it wouldn’t hurt to release him.  Smiley

1818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tutorial How to import old paper wallet to electrum on: January 31, 2023, 02:39:14 AM
someone out there maybe forgets if they have an old paper wallet and keep it somewhere in a safe box. like the example picture below:
Yes, it's always important to be able to import a paper wallet, it's a basic step.
And it's also working for every private key, no matter where it's from, easy to import.

Knowing the difference between importing and sweeping is also important, see Importing Vs Sweeping Private Keys; What you need to know.
Importing means, you'll get access to your original wallet (which you are importing) = you'll make your original wallet accessible in Electrum.
Sweeping means, you'll create a transaction sending your coins from your (paper) wallet to your preferred Electrum wallet = coins are transferred.
1819  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be careful with saxydev; he is a scammer on: January 31, 2023, 02:02:30 AM
Hello saxydev,

after reviewing your case, it's very clear that DT is right to bring up a scammer flag on your account. I'm always giving members a benefit of doubt but your case is really unfortunate because all evidence is right here.
The flag brought up by dkbit98 applies because you accepted the deal. It's archived. You might have a different point of view but DT is a decentralized system and as long as dkbit98's accusation is valid, the flag is appropriate.

You can only get rid of the flag by making dkbit98 roughly whole and even then, there's still your fraudulent service (but your fraudulent service is not related to your flag).
So, yes, make dkbit98 roughly whole and he might forgive you.

In addition it's a bit weird that such a flag really gets opposition. It's not a good showing to side with a scammer...

Let's wait for Belkin1986's evidence if there's even more fraud.  Smiley

Later he joined another Romanian topic, defending the imbecility called Pi Network.
And may I ask, why you also defended a dangerous fraud Shitcoin?  Roll Eyes

Saxydevs shill of Pi token: A shit coin ? 100%.  Turned out to be a scam ? Nope, simply a shitcoin that people have been "mining" with their phones for years, remember the ads about it for years now, looked recently into it as I've "mined" about 300 of those, which apparently are trading OTC at this point.
You are missing the point that a Shitcoin is mostly harmless and "just" resulting in a loss (by simply holding it).
PI is a fraudulent shitcoin where harm is actively done in multiple ways:

PI is only available for people doing KYC. This results in possible identity theft, which is even more harmful that just a financial loss. PI is a private company and should be sued and punished for requiring KYC.
PI is advertising to be mined via phone, which is potentially damaging for the phone but at least it's unprofitable by making false promises.
PI is a glorified ponzi.

And the only winners of PI Shitcoin are the founders!

Supporting a fraudulent Shitcoin like PI should be highly discouraged.
